Rivershore was such a help in getting me started with my first tanks and I officially have 3 tanks from them, and half my fish from them! I’ve been to many of the fish stores in the cities and the fish they carry are some of the healthiest I’ve seen. I’d like to especially talk up how healthy the bettas they carry are. Every store I’ve been to keeps their bettas in little cups, and while I don’t believe that’s necessarily bad in the short term, none of the bettas in cups I’ve seen look as happy and healthy as the ones at Rivershore, in actual tanks. The store itself is beautiful, full of fully scaped aquariums of different sizes, plants all over, a disco ball, and overall very bright and fun atmosphere. The workers/owners are very quick to greet you and help you out with whatever you need, and they all are clearly very experienced in aquariums and fish care. It’s clear in the way you talk to them just how passionate all of them are! Overall my favorite fish store in MN. The pictures included are of some of the fish in their store, as well as my 20 gallon that is stocked almost entirely with plants, wood, and fish from Rivershore.

Honestly, I'm not sure what I was expecting from this store since because I'm from outta state, but I can definitely say if I ever come back to this area I will ALWAYS make time to visit Rivershore Aquariums. The service from Derek was amazing. Not only was he very informative and helpful, but it felt like he was actually listening to the stories you tell about your own fish keeping experiences. The rest of the staff there was also great to talk to. The stores music ambiance was relaxing and set the mood perfectly. The ambiance let the customer KNOW this isn't just any fish store, this is THE fish store. The warm and natural lighting in the store made the tanks demand for attention, drawing in the customers to peek or look into each tank. Mixed in with the music, this stores vibe was just a delightful. Derek said they just opened 6 months ago, but with the knowledge of the workers and vibe i got from this store felt lts been here for years. 10/10 store can't wait to see more come from it

I found this new gem on google as I was searching to buy fish locally from an expert. I have the slightest clue about fish but recently got my fish tank hooked up as a Christmas gift! I was approached and welcomed immediately as I walk in. The men were very knowledgeable and super nice. They have patience… Again I had the slightest clue of what I was looking for. They told me which fish pair well with others, educated me on how to treat my tank, educated me on the Coral which I didn’t know was a thing. I picked out 5 fish total. 4 different Tetras and an algae eater. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase and with the way I was treated. I will be going back… Think I want some Angelfish to add. Stop in if you’re local. I highly recommend!

Extremely helpful and friendly employees! I came to buy some hard scape for a new 20 gal long. To my pleasant surprise, they had a table topped with gravel and measurements on the edge so you can visualize your set up and play around with the hard scape they have. I love the brightness and openness of the store: it's definitely not cramped and dark like a lot of other fish supply stores. Currently no handicap entrance, but upon chatting with the owner Dan, he said they're working with the landlord to get one built in the future. 10/10, this store is definitely the best in the business in the Twin Cities.

Awesome, clean, friendly fish store. I spoke with Dan, Derek, and Ben who worked there and they were all very friendly and knowledgeable. They seemed to really be there because they love what they do and not just to push sales and make a quick buck. I watched one of them handle a difficult situation with another customer with such grace and patience that it brought me joy to see that kind of customer care still present today. If you are looking for some fish, shrimp, aquariums, supplies, etc., be sure to come check this shop out. While you're there be sure to stop and say hi to Birdie the puffer!

Aquarist’s delight! A fish store that caters to aquascaper in all of is. Not only is this store beautifully laid out, but is stocked with quality fish, plants and supplies. They also have paludarium plants and supplies as well. One of my favorite things was the benches where you can simply sit and observe the tanks. This review would not be complete if I didn’t mention tables in the back of the store where you can plan out your next build. No more laying out rocks and wood on a dirty carpet in poor light. You need to stop by this place, it’s a gem.

Fairly new in the fishkeeping/aquarium hobby and I appreciate this place so much! I trust them and know that everything has been ordered/sourced in a trustworthy way. Have had really good luck with all my plants from here and also love that they value how their fish are kept - no tiny tanks! The space has been thoughtfully and intentionally put together and it’s paired with kind knowledgable and fun people. Love to pop in her for all my aquarium needs/aquatic life but also to learn and hang out in a pretty space!

I’m a novice fish person with a 3 gallon betta tank. I suspected my betta might have developed fin rot but I wasn’t 100% sure. I watched a lot of YouTube videos but still wanted to talk to someone so I took some photos of my fish and stopped here because they were in my neighborhood. Great experience, 100%. They were patient with all my questions and gave me the confidence to go back home and care for my betta. Also, their store is beautiful. They care so much about fish and their customers. Worth a look.

Haven’t had fish in a few decades. Daughter wanted to have some so I went here based on the guys being small business owners. I was presently surprised with the amount of knowledge this friendly staff holds. Derrick helped us get everything we needed for the tank and was patient answering questions we had about the process about setting up a new tank. Overall, I would recommend anyone interested to go to this shop for their aquatic needs. I plan on going back for any of my future needs. Thanks guys.

Beautiful place with friendly staff. Even if you aren't looking to buy fish, just visiting this store is a pleasure. Places to sit and just look at some beautifully aquascaped tanks. Large selection of hardscape material, great selection of plants, and an assortment of fish from the common found in most stores to less common seen other places. Lots of dry goods like aquascapibg tools, foods, lights, filters, etc. This store is a must-see. Modern atmosphere with a laid-back energy

This new locally owned fish store is amazing. My husband is in love with fish tanks and fish (like some men with sports ). He is very extreme with his passion and was very eager for this store to open after we found out World of Fish was closing. What makes it even better is the owner of this fish store was actually an employee at world of fish ! I love how modern it is as it helps it compete with other fish stores that are out of date and look questionable to walk in.

This place is so amazing and Derek has done so much for us! From answering endless questions (not only in person but on the phone) to actually physically showing us how to do things to get our tank up and running properly. We’re so excited to have this new hobby and it’s all thanks to the knowledge given to us at Rivershore. Make sure to get the shrimp enrichment hut too! I have never seen happier more enriched shrimp, move over plants we’re making a city!

Wonderful new local fish store. The building is airy and welcoming, with lots of wood and high ceilings. And there is plenty of parking. The staff is top notch. Dan, Ben, and Derek are knowledgeable and friendly and are there to help you no matter what you're looking for. The stock is varied with an emphasis on planted tanks and decorations. I knew Dan when he worked at another shop in Richfield (unfortunately the owners closed the business) so when he started up this place with some of his peers I knew I needed to check it out. These guys are all pros! Their aquascapes are beautiful and everyone is extremely knowledgeable about all things fishkeeping. Everything in the store is high quality, the fish are well breed and healthy. Definitely the place to go in the Twin Cities.

Great new shop. As someone who hasn’t kept fish in a very long time, I am considering getting a tank for the kids. I have been in twice and the guys were very happy to help answer my questions. I am planning on buying a tank as a gift for Christmas and will definitely purchase it here. Attractive tanks in store with good quality fish, media, and a quality selection of products. Gorgeous store with a great selection of nano fish, plants, and hard scape! They have something new and cool almost every time I visit. Ben, Dan, and Derek have always made time to help me scape and stock my first nano aquarium. They’re a wealth of knowledge to lean on for people new to the hobby like myself. They’re passionate about the hobby and it really shows. I highly recommend giving Rivershore Aquariums a visit!

Calling all "aqua-philes" Awesome shop! Aquascapes are absolutely stunning and there's benches in front of them so you can sit and watch! Selection of plants is great as well as prices. Fish look happy and healthy! Awesome all around. Always someone nice who is willing to help out and answer your questions! It's also surprisingly comfortable, unlike most shops that feel hot and steamy when you walk in. 10/10

I cannot recommend this place highly enough, the perfect place to visit if you're looking to set up your first planted aquarium. A fantastic assortment of plants, hardscape materials, and fish/fauna. Incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff made the process so much less intimidating, and the gravel tables the had available to play around with different hardscape arrangements was such a cool feature.

Beautiful store. Showcase tank setups and healthy looking fish. Not your average rows of boring tanks packed with dying fish. Very nice selection of various substrates, rocks, driftwood or spiderwood and plants. Knowledgeable and very helpful staff. This is a good store to go to if you are wanting to set up an aquarium with quality materials and real accurate advice from experts. A far cry from Petco.

This store was one of the cleanest, best kept, best looking, stocked, and overall a better and pleasant experience compared to other stores. The owners greeted me and were friendly, from my interactions I could tell they really cared about their craft and were helpful but not in a salesman type way. Definitely recommended and will be coming back for fresh water tanks!

Outstanding aquarium store! This is such a nice, clean, and well stocked store. The aquariums are perfectly maintained with healthy fish, invertebrates, and plants! Hard to find equipment and tools as well as premium wood, rock, and other tank decor. The team is very helpful and knowledgeable about every aspect of aquarium set up and ongoing care. Check it out!

Great place! Missed World of Fish after they closed. Glad to see some familiar faces in the local fish scene again. They did an amazing job getting the place set up. Has a pretty great selection of fish, plants, and supplies. The overall aesthetic of the place is also amazing, modern and sleek, compliments the fish and the beautiful scapes very well.

Amazing store, great selection of freshwater fish and plants, as well as a small selection of saltwater fish and dry goods. Freshwater dry good selaction is bountiful and great staff with amazing knowledge. Dan has strived to make this store something great, and has definitely reached that goal. One of the best new fish stores in the state.

I love this fish store and wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else. The store itself has a beautiful neighborhood feel to it, with a wide variety of fish, plants and aquascaping supplies. The tanks are beautifully set up and maintained and the fish look healthy. The staff are beyond amazing, and full of knowledge about everything aquarium.

I visited twice and had the best experience. A staff member spent time giving us more information on the fish we were getting and helped us pick out specific ones out of full tanks. We also got beautiful spiderwood and the guppies were beautiful, sadly we had problems with our tank and the fish all died but I would definitely go again.

What a fabulous store. The employees are super knowledgeable. So many fish to choose from and so many aquatic plants. Just walking around and looking at everything calmed everything in my body. I highly recommend talking to them about any aquarium needs and then buying whatever plants or fish nest suit your aquarium.

One of the best aquarium stores I've been to in a long time. Layout of the store is really fun. They have mini-benches where you can just sit and view tanks and they have two interactive tables, where you can do design mock-ups of hardscape materials. The staff was also really friendly. Overall, an excellent vibe.

Derek, Dan and Ben are awesome. Their store is gorgeous and is what ultimately inspired me to get into aquascaping. They are so knowledgeable about the hobby and are extremely attentive to customers. Incredibly knowledgeable and friendly staff. They helped me get set ups for two aquariums yesterday. I will be back to get my plants and new fish friends. It's a 40 min drive for me one way but hands down worth it for the awesome experience.

Went here about 2 months ago and was very impressed. I enjoy how clean it is and the lounge-like style. Bought some shrimp and plants here that have done very well for me.
