I have consulted different mechanics in Kingston over the last few years (and highly rated ones too) and none have been as meticulous and transparent as Robert. When I first called, he took the time to explain to me the cost breakdown and what to expect. When I dropped my car off, he made sure he noted down all the issues I needed him to look at. Despite the shop being super busy, he called the same day to let me know his diagnosis of the issues and that he had called a bunch of places to get the best price for the parts needed. He also suggested alternative solutions (which I accepted) that were less costly and saved me a bunch of money. As a female POC, I find it hard to be taken seriously by mechanics. I am eager to learn what is wrong and what is needed to get things fixed but I don't get a lot of answers when I ask questions. Robert is different in that aspect- he told me all I wanted to know without me really asking. Honest guy, does a thorough job, and no bs. It's a busy shop though so call early and temper your expectations wrt turnaround time.

12 years ago I came to this garage after calling all over town to find a shop that would work on the carburetor in my old Firebird, Robert's Automotive was the only shop that would take it. When I went to pick up my car, I was brought back to the garage and showed the work they did and the improvements made, verifying I was happy with the work and he still does this every time I get work done there. Robert is one of the most honest and hard working mechanics I've ever dealt with. He gives price point options on repairs and is very forthcoming with what will be done. If you're looking for genuine old school, honest garage Robert's is one of the best.

First time going to Roberts Automotive and meeting Robert and his team all were very understanding and Amazing crew I brought a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta in with a friend since she was having some issues with her Knock Sensor and they ordered the part that was needed the next day after confirming it was in fact the sensor that was needed to be replaced. Came back the next morning and they were able to get the work done. It depends on how busy they are just like any other shop. But I would 100% recommend going to Roberts for your future automotive problem. Best shop in town so far hands

Over 20 yrs late on the this review however I still think of the kindness this shop showed me. I lived 2 blocks from the shop well over 20 years ago. My car broke down in the driveway. I couldn't afford the tow prices the tow companies were quoting me. Roberts 2 employees chained my car to their pick up and slowly towed it over to be fixed. I have always remembered this kind act. Truly superior service and compassion. Thanks again .

Very to the point and direct service. Had a leak inspected and they identified right away that i had corroded hoses. Replaced the next day and repair complete. Fair pricing and good ol honest mechanics. My only gripe is my car smelled like cigarettes after for a few days, but I'm a non smoker so it's an odour i am very sensitive to.

Knowledgeable and fair, I've had Robert tell me that he didn't want to throw parts at a problem, and to come back later. Most garages would've happily upsold me of unneeded work, but not here. Can't recommend them enough! Update: same day emergency radiator replacement for an incredibly fair price. Best deal in town.

Robert has the best prices in town. Not only that, but he is friendly and if you know a bit about your car's problem, he will work with you so you know exactly what to expect. He is my new mechanic since moving to Kingston! No over the top policies like some shops; he is simply fair and straightforward.

Robert's crew has consistently done a great job on both of my vehicles. He does his best to work within my budget and tries to get me the best price for parts, tires, and keeps labour times down as well. Very satisfied with the work he has done over the past few years on my cars.

I have been using Robert's now for about two years, for all my vehicles. They are a very old school shop, which is amazing to see nowadays! They love working on the vintage vehicles, which is what I mostly provide them. I refer all my friends to here for work.
