Terrible customer service. Definitely not worth your time. They post a sign outside explaining why we need to wait. But to wait for this ridiculous kind of customer service is a joke. They have a line for you to wait outside of the store even tho it's not crowded in the store. I waited about 15 minutes but honestly didn't mind the wait since I've heard a lot of rave reviews about Rothy's. Initially, I was excited to discover that this store actually exists. But the customer service was absolutely horrible. The unhelpful employee (short, dirty blond haired girl) assigned to help me neither gave me information on the store and its interesting history nor any information about any of the shoes I was trying on. My friend who came with me gave me more information about the unique brand and the history of Rothy's. This bored looking employee was not helpful at all. I felt like I was bothering her. If I could, I would have gotten the shoes myself. Also, the selection available in store is very limited. They sent away the specialty shoes on the side and there were also no sneakers in the store to try on. As I was trying to decide which style shoes I liked, the horrible employee pointed towards the shoes and told me that she wanted to clean them up because she wanted other customers to have the chance to try them. I looked around and no other customer in the store had the same size feet as me. So I said, "Oh my shoe size isn't that common." To which she replied, "No, we get TONS of requests for your exact shoe size." (I'm a size 5.5. Really? Tons? I can't name more than two people that has the same size feet as me in my social circle). Are you trying to tell me that I am not unique? I don't see the point of this store and wish I can get reimbursed for my Lyft ride because it was such a waste of time and money to go there in person. I've been ready to buy a pair of pointed flats that I've been eying for quite some time now but I'm currently so peeved at the customer "service" that I'm not even going to buy a pair anymore. I'm sure I can find comfortable flats elsewhere. You just lost a customer.

I’ve been a very satisfied rothys customer in the past and recently ordered my third pair. I purchased the honeycomb point and a pair of extra yellow in soles in the wrong size online and when given the option to exchange in store or online, i decided to visit the store since it was advertised as having many color options not available online. I live about 30 minutes away and came into SF primarily to visit the store. When I arrived, not only was there a line for the tiny store and I had to wait forever to get in, but they actually had very limited color options (fewer than online). When I tried to exchange my shoes, I had to chose a pair to order online because they didn’t have in store options that I wanted to trade for. In addition, the staff was incapable of exchanging my insoles for the correct color in store and when I settled for the available in store option of black, I was told I could not do an even exchange since I used a discount code and would have to pay three extra dollars for the same product. They were unwilling or unable to manually do an even exchange and even though 3 dollars is nothing, it was still frustrating . I was very disappointed with the whole experience. I emailed customer service to let them know about my experience and their response (after calling me the wrong name) was to say "Oh no!! Sorry!". Thanks, very helpful...

I have 5 pairs of Rothys going on 6. I love them and they are so comfortable for work. I can easily walk to Bart and home with no blisters or rubbing like my old flats. So 5 stars for having great shoes! On the other hand, I've been to the store a few times and usually have had to wait, which is fine. It's a small store and it would be even harder than it already is to look around if too many people were in there. The customer service is pretty bad though. Out of the 4 or 5 times I've been there I've only had one girl help me that was nice and actually seemed like she genuinely wanted to be there. All of the other times the people were really unfriendly and when I've asked questions I get one word answers like they are annoyed to be helping me. Most of them don't even smile. I guess I'm used to shopping at Nordstrom's where they are willing to talk to you about the shoes you are trying on and give you feedback when you have questions. I read through the reviews and this seems to be a complaint a lot of people have about the employees at the store. Kind of disappointing considering how great the shoes are. Now that I've tried all the different styles and know my size I probably wouldn't waste my time going back to the store.

I’ve wanted to try Rothy’s for a while. I could see buying and wearing many styles. I’m a interior design and love good design and style. I’m also a top realtor in Silicon Valley. I decided to drive up to San Francisco since their only store is there and i live in the South Bay, Los Gatos. I felt it would be worth the time and drove to see them all with my own eyes and i would prob order a few. I’m going to London,Paris and Barcelona this week and will be walking a lot. I checked yelp to confirm hours and glad to see they’re open until 5 today, Sunday. I could not call to confirm hours bk they dont publish a phone no on yelp. I drove all the way there. Hand written note on door that they are sorry for inconveniences and having some technicals difficulties. YA!! I’d say that company that seems so progressive on technology and internet, social.media and seemingly thriving in th online world, would know better and at least change their status on yelp or somehow to communicate this to avoid extreme inconvenience. Or maybe someone should have just been there. I don’t get it.

I was so excited to buy my first pair of Rothys today! I’ve heard such great things about the shoes and they’re super cute. I almost bought them online but decided that I should go in to check the fit. I understand that it’s a small store and it’s busy, but I was really disappointed by the lack of customer service. The sales associate was condescending and it felt like a total inconvenience to ask to try on a second size to check the fit. I asked him several questions about fit and his answers were very clipped and I would tell he was annoyed. Super rushed...and even though I ended up buying a pair, I’m not at all excited about the purchase. Based upon some of the reviews over the last year, it seems like this is a theme... At $145 a pop, it was a real letdown. Here’s hoping the shoe is worth it.

I was visiting SF from the East Coast and happy to find the store. I was hoping to be able to visually see all the colorways and styles. However that is not the case at all. They have very limited inventory there. The sales staff was helpful, but it became very confusing because a lot of people were in there at the same time. It is a small space and only 2 people working. I ordered a special embroidery so they had to be sent. There was a mistake with my order. There was no paperwork attached. I had to creat an account before being able to communicate with them. When I did, the customer service people told me they could not help me and to contact the store. They did not provide me with a phone number and it was not listed when I Googled it. Very frustrating.

I loved it here! I am super picky and can't stand even a bit of discomfort from my shoes, and person who helped me was kind and knowledgeable (it was even day their first day yesterday) and gave sizing advice that was spot-on. Really love the empathy the folks here have for the wearer - from advising me to try on every color because fibers and fit may change due to the way the shoes are processed, getting me to jump/skip around to be sure my new shoes wouldn't chafe at the heel, to sizing me exactly right for the Point so my toes didn't hurt. It was so fun, efficient, and I didn't feel rushed at all, even though I squeaked in just before closing time. Delighted with my entire experience at Rothy's. I only wish had things for men. Keep it up!

It's the teeniest most precious little store and full of well displayed product. They have special SF Rothy's available only there, I absolutely had to scoop up a pair. Upon arrival to the store, you have to wait at the door for them to let you in because it is so small they don't want overcrowding. That's not a big deal at all because it gives you time to window shop. The staff is so very friendly and they do check in with people in line so you're not just wondering if you're going to be there a long time (I've only waited 5 minutes max). They set you up to try on a couple different sizes to get the most perfect fit. It's the best way to shop! I can't wait to go back!

Received Rothys as a gift for Christmas and they made it impossible to exchange. I tossed the box due to lack of storage space during travel and didn’t know that was necessary for an exchange. I said I wore them in the house to see if they fit and the sales lady said well you can’t wear them at all, so we can’t help you. Also, sales lady was just watching me put my shoes back on after she told me she couldn’t do anything. Awesome, thanks for nothing. Also, waiting in line outside was BS. I was really excited to own a pair and now I’m dismayed because they hurt my feet and I can’t do anything about it.

I like the shoes but was super disappointed by the store. There's only a small portion of what's online and it's too crowded. I felt awkward trying to just browse. On top of that the employees give attitude. I went in and one showed me a color because I was asking if they had a certain color I'd seen in another model I said I'd think about it and maybe order online. Then when I decided it was close enough to what I wanted, it wasn't online so I went back a week later to try and buy it and they denied ever having the shoe. I asked him to look in back and he wouldn't.

I received a pair of Rothy's points as a gift in my normal size - they seemed a little small, and on a friend's recommendation I came into the store to try out a larger size. I didn't have to wait (on a weekday around 4pm), and the person who helped me was so patient, helpful and persistent - she advised me to go up a full size. I was super skeptical but three weeks of regular wear later, she was obviously right. Great customer service, great shoes, and the store is cute (and right across the street from Blue Bottle Coffee if you want to continue to treat yourself.)

Since there is only one store, you would assume they would have at least a display of all the colors. I came from the east coast and planned a day in the city around going to the store. I walked out 60 seconds later. I think it is understood that most of the styles may only be available online, being the store is a bonus to the online image of Rothy's. But, I think it's a safe assumption each color in every style should be displayed. I didn't even expect to try them on, just a gallery idea....suuuuper disappointed.

Horrible service. I was there around 4:30pm on Dec 2, 2018 and one staff member was ridiculously rude (African American lady). I have been a huge fan of Rothy’s (did my first purchase back in Oct 2016 when they just launched their service, selling their products at the Ferry Building Farmers Market) and own more than 4 pairs of pointy shoes. Honestly, I don't think I will ever go back to this store again—they unnecessarily make customers wait outside when the store is not even crowded.

Incredibly poor and incompetent customer service and customer satisfaction. For the prices they charge for their shoes, they do not live up in a standard of care nor efficiency in customer care. Nobody ever knows what's going on and they have to always go ask about it and they never even get back to you. So, you have to stand back in line for more poor customer service and they won't give the money back to your credit card despite sizing issues. It's a cycle of bad management.

Holy cow, careful walking into this place. They are gonna getcha! The bags in the window are soooooo dreamy. The staff was super friendly but it was sort of weird they didn't have a black pair in my size. They definitely gave us lots of information but I ended up buying my bag online instead. Parking can be tricky but worth it. You can walk around after in your new kicks and get some coffee and a thrift shop or too. Small store, good service. Thanks!

My wife's shoe store of choice. Really good quality shoes that are washable! Just don't dry them in the dryer as they will melt. We have many pairs and they are super comfortable and age well. Recommendation to try on multiple pairs of the same size because each shoe fits slightly different. We typically order 3 shoes of the same style and size so that we can get usually get the perfect left and perfect right amongst them.

I was very excited to go to the store as i love the shoes and own 5 pairs. However from the minute I stepped in the store it was a miserable experience. The lady helping me made me wasn't friendly at all and made me feel like an imposition. I was so put off by the service that i ended up leaving with nothing. It was quite a disappoint as I was excited to buy my first pair in store as I usually purchase the shoes online.

The shoes are beautiful but the lady helping me didn't wasn't friendly at all. The other gals working were giving great customer service asking questions, giving recommendations etc. My lady seemed bothered that I was trying on different styles. I left loving the shoes (how the looked) but came home and realized I needed a bigger size. Thankfully they have easy exchanges so back they went today via the mail.

Their claims to sustainability are completely bogus! They SNAIL MAIL!!!!! They cut down trees and mail them out to people as a sales technique without asking you first if you want it! Which is polluting the planet cutting down things that help with pollution and annoying the hell out of people with the waste. If you love the planet do not buy from them!

Got my shoes!!! Visiting from Dallas and happy to find one of the few a Rothy’s is here in San Francisco. Tried shoes on with the assistance of an eager staff. I didn’t realize they don’t stretch out! So, trying on was good!! I normally where 8 or 8.5. I purchased the 8.5. Hope this helps if you are nervous about sizing when buying online!

This is my second pair of Rothy’s my first pair had a loose thread in the white proton in the side. So, Rothy’s replaced them. Now, a few months later, a thread is coming out on the new pair. I like the shoes otherwise. But, if they can’t produce them with quality controls, I don’t know that I’ll buy another pair. It is disappointing.

Bought my RS01s here. Staff was helpful and made sure I was happy with my size and color combination. Aside from this store the brand itself is great and I highly recommend their products. I have the RS01 and Chelsea boots and they are by far my most worn and most comfortable shoes. The fact that they are sustainably made is great too

It's a small space, but when I went in it wasn't very busy. The guy that helped me was extremely kind and helpful. They might not have all of the shoes that are offered online, but they had most of them. I was able to find the shoes I wanted, try them on, and purchase them in under 15 minutes. It was a quick and easy experience!

Shoes are good, so the wife says. Employees are nice and friendly. However had to wait about 15-20 minutes to get in on a Sunday afternoon. Shop is small and selection is limited. Returns on purchases must be made in store and not shipped back. Good to try on but buying probably easier online and more selection online.

Advertised shipping was 5-9 business days. It’s been 9 business days and my order wasn’t even verified until now. Disappointing customer service, too - I reached out 5x and got the same canned message over and over again. Had high hopes for the product but doesn’t seem like I’ll ever get it.

Super small space with limited color choices. However a good way to try their 4 basic styles. Service was pleasant enough, but staff wasn't really passionate about the product. I'm just a shoe nerd. However, I love their flats for running errands and for travel shoes.

OMG, they have the cutest n most comfortable shoes. They do soon smaller than the true sz, so plus one sz bigger is perfect. Stephanie is most helpful . I had a wonderful experience shopping there. Will definitely bring my daughter here next time she is in town.

The shoes are definitely overrated. one pair cost 120. The material makes your feet smelly, because they are weird plastic. They told me I could wash it. After I wash and air dry, the shoes shrunk .... seriously. I felt like I wasted more than 100 dollars.

Tiny spot with a wait. Customer service was just OK. Pros: Shoes look cute and has many colors. Doesn’t slip out when you walk, doesn’t seem to blister. Cons: Some shoes are true to size, others too small/narrow. They don’t carry all sizes/colors.

Comfortable from the get go! Didn't feel so comfortable with tossing my shoes in a washing machine, so used a high-pressure spray with soap to "wash" the shoes before air-dry. Works as well!
