Classic !! This is her first time here and it is Big scientists restaurant with a good variety on the menu. The decor is a little bit old and outdated but it's definitely a comfortable place to come in and enjoy a meal with your family and friends. This restaurant was recommended by two separate people that I was talking to earlier today. They're very generous with their portion sizes and they offer lots of refills on your coffee if you enjoy having a cup of coffee with your meal. They also have a children's menu Under 12 were most items are under 8:50. It was much appreciated that they leave the jam and peanut butter selections on the tables. For desserts they offer things like cheesecake cream pie fruit pie pecan pie and your typical Jell-O pudding and ice cream and Sundays. They do have a small bar menu offering domestic and imported beers whiskey cocktails like yours and red and white wine Not too many Dinars these days offer liver and onions but this place did and it was very well done. They also have several different types of eggs benedict. The service was also very friendly and professional so thank you to the front and back staff for a job well done

Came with a large group and the place was packed. Their staff was not phased at all by our large number and they did their best to accommodate us. They spilt our group and placed us at different tables which was totally fine as we were more hungry vs wanting to wait so that we could sit together. Despite being at different tables in the restaurant, our server treated us like one big table, we all got our orders at the same time and we were finished at the same time. That was impressive as they were busy. Our server was not too busy to crack a few jokes and check on us regularly. All their staff was friendly and professional. It was so sweet to hear the staff greet some of their regular customers and know their orders. Food was great - they use real potatoes for their home fries and make their own burgers. Great experience and delicious food!

A simple, homey diner style restaurant that serves diner standards at a reasonable price. I enjoyed the ambiance, and apparently so do many others as it was well-attended even in the middle of the day midweek. While the food wasn't Michelin-star quality, it's not meant to be. I'll definitely visit again for the friendly atmosphere and the delicious coffee!

Always enjoyed going here since we live down the street, but unfortunately since our previous visit, our experience was sadly not the best. We arrived at 1:50pm after learning the restaurant was closing at 3pm due to Victoria Day. Came to enjoy the patio with our dog but when we asked to sit outside, the staff did not want to take the time to unlock the patio furniture for us. The time it took for them to explain this to us, they could have simply grabbed the key and unlocked the padlock. We offered to set up our own chairs in the corner as it looked to us like a long cord just had to be wiggled out through the furniture; disappointing. By happy chance, we drove down to Skyway Diner on Plains Rd and had a wonderful time with friendly staff and delicious food on their patio.

Loved the food and atmosphere. Food was awesome and filling with great taste. We asked for many modifications and the staff was very courteous and accommodated everything we asked. The ambience was good and we were lucky to reach early and get a seat. We could see the place was always filled. We found it and visited by chance and we are gonna make this as our staple breakfast joint going forward.

Lovely family style diner restaurant and great pit stop on the way to Niagara Region. Extensive menu options, free coffee refills and great portion sizes. Overall 5/5 for the food. We had to wait a couple of minutes for a table (at noon) but not too long. My only small peeve was the waitress... she was impatient and not very friendly. Without any prompt she dropped over the bills and stood waiting with the card machine.. We felt a little rushed out of the place. Otherwise I would definitely recommend for a hearty breakfast experience!

Russell Williams is a Burlington staple! It’s my favourite place for breakfast and I can always count on it being delicious (their pancakes are a must ). I hope everyone keeps in mind that this a family owned restaurant and every restaurant is doing their best right now given current times/on and off restrictions. If you’re unhappy with provincial restrictions, I suggest taking it up with the Premier’s office and letting small businesses continue to do what they have to do to stay afloat. I for one am just grateful that they’re able to push through and keep their doors open for us, and I hope everyone continues to treat restaurant owners/staff with respect and kindness.

The All-Day Breakfast meals we ordered were absolutely amazing! I never knew hash browns can taste this good, and same with the breakfast burger. You can't go wrong with this place when it comes to great tasting food. The big chain breakfast and brunch restaurants have nothing on this place. Our compliments to the chef. They definitely know what they're doing.

What a gem! The stand out here was the service. I can't remember being treated so well at any other place. Ok, the service was super duper, but what about the food? Food was terrific too! I had the Russel Williams special. Which is quite simply a bit of everything they serve! So good! Coffee was great, and it seemed to be a challenge by the server for me to get to the bottom of the mug. She was by so often to top up the mug, there was no way to get to the bottom. PS I will be awake for a while. Dining room had a classic feel to it, and was clean and roomy. They have these enormous booths that are awesome. I'll be back, I would recommend this place no problem!

  • Sofia

Great food, generous portions and great price. Server “Stacey”was awesome always smiling , offering coffee refills and checking with us frequently even when restaurant was packed on “family day” !!! Unfortunately the hostess at the front was not friendly , not smiling, rude at times with guests waiting for a table and not welcoming- she was only nice to seniors. She ruined the overall atmosphere as we were sitting at the booth by the front doors! Please provide coaching to that employee Will definitely return!

Went for a late brunch at this Burlington/Aldershot landmark on the weekend. Russell Williams has been around since the 1950's. It's won tons of local awards for the best breakfast and I had to try it. Honestly...its was alright. The service was acceptable..not overly friendly but just enough not to get disappointed. Our breakfasts were tasty but the wife's eggs were undercooked. Coffee was hot but no table checks or refills unless I asked. After asking for a refill, we were given a bill. I guess I didn't want anything else...very much a 3 star experience.

I revisited Russel Williams Family Restaurant recently and, despite the consistently delicious Canadian cuisine, my experience was marred by subpar service. While the food remains a highlight with its authentic flavors, my last visit left me inclined to adjust my rating from 5 stars to 4. The inviting atmosphere couldn’t compensate for the disappointing service encountered this time.

Our server was wonderful and the banquet burger and sweet potato fries that I had was delicious. Everyone else that I was with loved their meals too. Hot beef sandwich with fries and fish and chips. The only uncomfortable thing about our visit was how hot it was in the restaurant. It wasn't a hot day so I was shocked to feel how warm it was in there.

Best breakfast place on this planet! I always get pancakes with whipped cream and a side of home fries. These pancakes are home made pancakes, the real deal! The home fries are the best thing around. I moved to Ottawa a few years ago and I miss this place so much and wish everyday that there was one where I live now, I would go there everyday if there was! Please come to Ottawa

Great service, awesome vibe waitress was very friendly. Everyone I was with loved their food, my burger was a bit pink inside and they instantly offered to make a new one without hesitation but I opted to eat it as the chef said it was grade A Chuck, and I didn’t want to delay everyone else at my table. We split the grilled cheese benedict and it was AMAZING. So tasty. Their menu is a little pricy but the quality matches the price. I was pleased when our waters came with no straws and I saw that that was the norm in the restaurant. Even with a full restaurant our meal came in 16 minutes. Clearly they deserve all the awards lining their walls
