I went in to get a 60 minute makeup service today and the way I was treated was horrible. I had a *3:30* appointment and my makeup wasn’t started until 4:00 pm. Listen if you come in here for a makeup appointment and you really need it done for a special occasion, bring your makeup bag. My reservation made it clear it was for my birthday. Yeah they still wasted my time. The reason given was that they saw 3:45 on their end. My confirmed appointment text clearly states 3:30 And guess what? My makeup still wasn’t started at 3:45! That actually would have been still been ok. At the end of the day, my makeup artist took a *walk in* eyebrow appointment, when I had a confirmed appointment which actually costs more. Not logical. No idea why a business would operate that way. My makeup came out great, but the experience was frustrating. I left a time cushion so I would not cut it close for dinner and they really treated me like my time didn’t matter. The staff member who manages the reservations in the make up service section actually tried to get me to pay and tip *before the service*. Out of control. Adding insult to injury. This is my fourth makeup service in a Sephora (including one in that very Sephora), no one ever asked me to pay and tip beforehand. If you buy that it’s to make it easier for you to leave quickly afterwards, well that’s on you. When it comes to paying, all of a sudden, my time is important? This was my first time getting full face, and I never plan to again despite liking my makeup. They are not professional, and lack time management and customer service skills. The ETA given was not accurate. Don’t tell me it’s a ten minute wait when it’s a 25 minute wait. Btw I don’t need an employee on the side telling me how great the makeup is coming along. It’s patronizing. I have my own eyes. If they do it to you, 1) have your makeup bag and use their nice mirrors and lighting to do your own makeup 2) don’t pay beforehand. It makes no sense. 3) If you were going to do any extras like eyelashes, don’t. Just do mascara and keep it moving. Don’t give them more money when they don’t value your time. If it wasn’t a special occasion, I would have just done focus feature eyes or nothing at all. They got lucky today. Maybe they saw it was my birthday and figured that I’d have a higher tolerance for nonsense. I just wonder because the whole thing didn’t make sense. Nothing was offered for the inconvenience. Not even an extra freebie bday gift which is funny because I’ve been given an extra one of those when I was not greatly inconvenienced. Ironic. Hope I saved someone frustration and unnecessary stress on their birthday. Just look up who had a 3:30 appointment and paid at 5 pm on Saturday, 5/6. That’s all the info you need. Imagine if I was 30 minutes late. My service would have been canceled and I would have gotten charged a late cancellation/no show fee. The amount of that fee should have been taken off of my bill now that I think of it. That would have been fair. Another point: insist the amount of that late cancellation fee is taken off your bill, if they do it to you. It is 1/3 of the amount of your service.

They always crowded. On the floor mostly brand reps and freelancers who are trying to be nice and some of them are. The employees are 50/50 luck game, sometimes you get get super sweet person who will help you get your staff and sometimes there is this “supreme” human who can’t understand that you walk around trying to see the color of the foundation on your hand because the light is horrible and impossible to deal with when searching for a color match. And yes, I know what I’m doing, I did makeup for 10 years on models and private clients of all colors and now I do photography so my eye is trained to see color as it is. So after following me this employee stands right in front of Givenchy counter “cleaning” by the way the amount of missing or broken testers is insane, I mind my business just squeeze in to take the color of foundation, concealer and the powder, so by that time my total is over $100 and then I picked a couple more products, at the checkout I was over $200 and felt that’s I was mistreated because that guy never even tried to service me which is a part of a job description he sighed for and I know that because I had worked at Sephora before. So when you think someone is shady and you think they may want to still and they don’t ask you for help your job is to come up and check on that person. Not stand on the way of buying expensive product. I wish people could be happy at work and not be like that. Btw I love the foundation I got. So glad I didn’t care for that attitude from the employee.

This sephora was the worst hands down. I was trying to pick up something but couldn't even get to the product I was looking for because I was asked 6(!) Times if I need help. This is too much. I understand 2 different sephora worker may ask me bc they didn't know I was already asked but this was beyond ridiculous. Also everyone asked me for a basket. I don't wanna have your basket if I need one I know where to find it lol The cherry on the top was this employee who -again!!!!- asked me for a basket - I politely declined and she turned around to me with a sarcastic face looking down on me "just that you know we don't give you a basket just so you buy more". The audacity making this assumption. If I need one product I am perfectly fine carrying it thank you. And also yes apparently that may be the purpose of baskets. (The employee was a tall girl long black hair unfortunately I don't remember her name) Never again. Other sephoras arent so bad just don't go to this one

I just wanted to express how happy I was visiting this Sephora location today ,it’s not my first time visiting but , today , I had the chance to meet a beauty advisor called Jessica , she was just fantastic, very kind , helpful and sweet person !! This is rare nowadays finding people with the best customer service in the city , everyone just seems to be in a rush and just make you stuff “ just because “ . But Jessica , was out of this world . Please know that Sephora must be proud of having you in their crew , and I can’t wait visiting Sephora again , and I’ll only go to Jessica and Jessica only !!! She’s the best ! Good luck in everything ❤️

I hate to say this but every single visit of mine is a nightmare in this location. The employees are condescending, ignore you or will chuckle as they say something. Coming from business owner’s perspective, it’s unacceptable and coming from a consumer just a very unprofessional environment. I think after covid workers are careless. But i’d advise some etiquette for most staff members. Condescending is a huge vibe here lol. Mind you i spend, but left getting 1 thing because i just didn’t have the time to deal with huffing puffing and snark remarks because they hate their job lol. Sorry soho sephora

I went to this Sephora today and had a horrible experience with a staff member. I was just walking to get something and he approaches me out of the blue yelling, “this is the second time already, if this continues I will call management.” “I felt like saying I will call management on you for yelling at me.” I didn’t even do anything and he never even said what I did that he got mad about. This isn’t a welcoming way to enter a store AT ALL.

Customer service in this location is disgusting. The girl at the register with the green star pimple patches is so condescending and rude to me and the manager with the red hair was the same. I tried doing a return. I felt like I was being profiled and disrespected. Everytime I go to this sephora 97% of the staff is rude and never helpful. Best believe I won’t be going back to this location.

The experience did not start until we met Solomon! He is very personable, attentive and made it feel like we were the only people in the store. If you are in need of cologne or perfume please ask for him when you go in. He has a wealth of knowledge and will have you walking out with more that you thought you needed. Thank you again Solomon. Your Chicago peeps appreciate you.

Came with a friend who needed some stuff. A few reviews say the staff are rude etc, but the staff member who helped my friend was super nice and friendly. Some of the items she wanted to buy they did not have in stock....another thing a few other people who reviewed this location said. It does get busy since it is in a tourist area but we got help right away

Sephora has turned into a gymboree. It's full of literal children and they are out of everything. If you're not beat for the gods, you might not get help. Occasionally some kind and helpful staff though--thank goodness. It feels intimidating and simultaneously low-budget despite exorbitant prices...kind of like private school.

Great store in the heart of the city. Must-haves: Haus Labs by Lady Gaga Le Monster Lip Crayons & the Triclone Skin Foundation! These items were gifted to me by the incredible Lady Gaga & her Haus Labs Team, but Sephora always has the best makeup products in stock.

  • Bella Tokyo

Always packed, there’s some “beauty advisors” who seem “nice” but the rest speak to you like you are clueless about makeup, very condescending and seem bothered. I rather walk further to a better Sephora that has products in stock anyway!

  • Sandra

The best Of Sephora , Toni Chesnut from Dyson, she provided us with a wonderful shopping experience. Profesional, knowledgeable about the product and with great carisma towards the customer

  • Gems Gonzalez

Love the great deals Sephora offered especially on its own brand—Sephora makeup. It’s cool also that celebrities have their own makeup lines like Rhianna, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez.

  • Tsering Namdol

Marisa and Emily was a great help with chosing foundation, color corrector, eye & lip products. They are amazing, I highly recommend them when you are buying any products in store.

  • LG

Great, Efficient staff. Came for a pickup order and was assisted/acknowledged by 3 different salespeople without even asking for help. Seems like a well-managed location …

The service here is very good. The perfume I need is not in the size I want. The waitress helped me find a similar smell and even picked the one I like better. Thank you so much!

  • Andrea Valacchi

One can find everything in this specific location and they are particularly clever since they open well before the normal opening time in this area that is set for 11am… …

  • Ekaterina Zavalnyk

Great Sephora location! It is often crowded but the staff is very friendly and helpful. The perfume department is amazing and has a great variety of perfumes.

  • unknownmf

they are welcoming which i appreciate but they will turn a little too obsessive which is WEIRD! especially if you’re just trying to check out stuff.

  • Sol Whisper

Yes, of course, but 0 & 10 are neither rational or irrational #'s because Africa taught us we're just looking at our hand for 2000 years right??
