We had never experienced grief of immediate family before and so were completely in the unknown when it came to organising my fathers funeral. We made contact with a few funeral directors and arranged a few appointments to go to each director to discuss our options. We had never come across Sahaara funerals before but spoke to a very polite lady called Natasha who said she was more than happy to visit us at home to have a chat. She was very flexible and came at a time convenient for the family that very same day. Being someone who likes to research and compare before committing, I was a little apprehensive that we would be obliged to go ahead with Sahaara especially as she was coming to us personally - and considering we had not visited the other funeral directors yet made me even more vary. But after Natasha's visit, I can't honestly thank her enough. Being a funeral director isn't a job I'm sure many people would fancy doing but it was quite overwhelming and transparent to see just how much passion Natasha had for her role. She was just so full of love and genuine warmth! It didn't feel at all like she would be there to solely provide a funeral service in my fathers name, but moreso felt like my father had deliberately brought her to us so that the family could feel comforted and assured he was going to be looked after and rest peacefully. Being able to meet Natasha at home allowed us to sense her values and morals as a person which clearly reflects in her company. I remember when we first spoke to Natasha, she mentioned over the phone that visiting the home helped her better connect with the family - I truly feel it actually helped us connect with her more and made us realise how they were to look after my father was exactly how he would have wanted it! Needless to say we cancelled all our other funeral director appointments and went ahead with Sahaara. It's easy to understand why funeral care is promoted so much these days by firms due to the high costs involved but Sahaara offered a great selection of options at extremely good rates to suit all without compromise. Communication was instantaneous and all legalities were promptly sorted with her aid. Natasha sensed my father was a spiritual man and so even when we went to visit him at the chapel of rest, there were so many little 'spiritual touches' which Natasha made which was very comforting to experience. They took over arranging everything for us in a dignified manner, were more than accommodating to our requests and were fantastic from start to finish. Even on the day of the funeral everything was coordinated very well by Ranjit - not once did we feel as if he was dominating the scene like I've seen done by other funeral directors but rather he was just a shadow coordinating everything silently. I would without hesitation recommend Sahaara Funeral Directors. From what we experienced, they are just a simple family run business who genuinely care and love what they do and want to share that with people the best they can during what can be a hard time. They have been truly Golden. I wish them both all the success!

My family had a horrendous experience with this company during one of the most difficult times of our lives. We hired these funeral directors after our mother’s untimely death and during the initial consultation Natasha couldn’t have been more respectful, accommodating and professional, but at every single point thereafter, she was the complete opposite. Please do not fall for her patter because she made one of the most difficult times in our lives so much harder by being rude, dismissive, disrespectful and acting like a dictator. For a person of faith (which she reminded us of many, many times) I expected a lot more humility, kindness and compassion but she displayed nothing but arrogance, rudeness and treated us with contempt. The bathing ritual was one of the worst experiences overall with her as she completely and utterly ignored our wishes and basically told us it was her way or no way. We were flabbergasted witnessing her behaviour and when a elder relative made a suggestion she was verbally abused and we were told if we didn’t like it then we should take ‘the body’ (those exact words) elsewhere and see if anyone else will do a better job but her fees are non refundable! We took things with us to bathe and dress our mother, including: a range of toiletries, brand new towels and clothes. She swiftly took the two very large bags full off us and didn’t let us use 90% of the things and then kept it all! When we asked for the spare underwear we bought with us back she said she’d stuffed it into the side of the coffin! What? When my mother’s sister got understandably emotional, she told her to go and sit in her car until she had calmed down like she was a naughty child. I was too gobsmacked to even comprehend what had happened. Don’t think it all even registered until now - a month later - because I was vulnerable and grieving. I was even told to collect the ashes within the hour and Natasha called me continuously until I collected them on that day with no prior notice and they were handed to me in a plastic sandwich zippy bag! Do I need to say anymore? Absolutely disgusting and Natasha should be ashamed of herself. I would urge anyone reading this not to subject themselves to this kind of behaviour when grieving for a loved one and get charged to get emotionally abused.

I would like to take this opportunity to review the services of Sahaara Sikh and Hindu Funerals. We were referred to Sahaara from our Thaya Ji, Bhai Mohinder Singh Ahluwalia of Nishkam Seva Jatha, Soho Road, Birmingham Gurdwara. My father passed away New Year’s Eve 2018 and the funeral took place on 8th January 2019. From the moment Sahaara were involved we were completely put at ease regarding the arrangements. Natasha was our point of contact throughout and she was amazing, she supported us and guided us. What we loved about Natasha was that nothing was too much trouble, she understood our feelings, needs and requirements. Not once did she refer to Dad as a body, she had the utmost respect and told us how she would look after Dad and how she would play and recite prayers for him. Even though my dad passed away over the festive period Natasha was continuously in touch during the day and out of hours organising everything so quickly, efficiently and professionally in order to give my dad the best send off he deserved. Work of this kind is God’s work, it is true seva and they are blessed that they do it so well and hold so much compassion for the deceased and the family members. Natasha and her husband Ranjit ensured my dad had the perfect send off. It was a beautiful day and everything was perfect. We as a family have complete peace in our heart that we used the best people in this service sector.

My family and I had to seek the professional services of Sahaara funerals, having lost my brother at the age of 46. Losing my brother was a devastating experience and a huge body blow to the whole family. I carried out my initial research on the Internet and decided to go to Sahaara Funeral Service. I found Sahaara Funeral Services to be a sensitive, caring and an extremely considerate funeral provider. They knew what they were on about and explained matters to me and my family in a clear and concise manner. Having met with Natasha, she immediately put me and my family at ease. Natasha was very sympathetic, experienced and explained to me and my family precisely what was required for my brothers funeral. She provided a truly bespoke and tailor-made service and treated the whole process with the delicacy, compassion and detail that it deserved. Natasha took the pain out of this dreadful time. The detail of her work was exceptional. We as a family are hugely grateful for the sincerity and compassion which she showed to us during this sad and deeply upsetting time in our lives. Natasha, Ranjit, and to all the team thank you once again, for making the farewell to our brother special and memorable. Holding our hand all the way through the process will never be forgotten and we will be forever grateful for your exceptional service and understanding.

I sadly lost my mum recently and after speaking with Stuart who hires the cars for sahaara, I chose to use them for my mum's funeral. I am so glad I decided to go with them. They have made the whole process easy to cope with and both Natasha and ranjit, along with Stuart have been amazing. Natasha is such a caring person and made planning mum's funeral easier. Stuart had been amazing, when I didn't know how to get to the funeral home, he picked me up and drove me there and also home. When I visited mum in the chapel of rest she looked beautiful, and they looked after her really well while she was on their care. I would defiantly recommend them in your hour of need. I am so happy I chose them to help laying mum to rest. They have been truly amazing

We cannot rate Sahaara Funerals highly enough. It was a very positive and peaceful experience for us at a difficult time. There was a lovely sense of care and respectfulness from Ranjit and Natasha at all times. They made every effort to accommodate us with all our Heathrow to Birmingham travel arrangements due to repatriation of our father. Having never met before we felt at ease and confident with all the excellent advice and honesty. The end to end service was done with the upmost respect and sincerity. We would not hesitate to recommend Sahaara Funerals to my friends or family in their time of need, as we are sure they would get the same professional and personal service our family received during our time of need.

Sahaara - Punjabi word meaning- Support, assistance, help, You really do live up to your name. Sahaara provide an extremely professional, helpful, caring and compassionate service. Ranjit and Natasha treated us with respect and dignity and were very supportive of the Family during this difficult and sad time. They went above and beyond their line of duty to contact the Coroner and Doctors to ensure that all relevant papers were available on time. The Funeral was peaceful and they made sure that every thing went as planned Thanks to both of you and your staff for everything. I would not hesitate to recommend Sahaara Funeral Services.

Approached Sahaara funerals, did not know of their reputation at the time. Used their service for my mother's funeral this February 2019, compassionate and caring staff. Fully supported my family. Experienced staff and excellent service. Extremely knowledgeable and compassionately explained the whole funeral process and cremation. Offered afercare with advice on taking ashes abroad. Gave the family time to spend at the funeral home, to reflect and take in our loss. Highly recommend Sahaara, punctual and compassionate. Handled the funeral with dignity and respect. THANK YOU.

We used this firm recently for our mother. I did look else where but the English firms that I had approached locally to me didnt give me the confidence around our cultural process. I googled these guys and met up with them. Within seconds I knew this team would get it. Natasha was wonderful and understood our Indian ways and advised accordingly. On the day of the funeral (1st March), Natasha and her team were amazing, they were respectful and understanding. Well done team, you did us and my late mum proud. Thoroughly recommended Sahaara. Sahara undertakers are very competent and professional. They provided a very good service when my dad died in December 2017. Its a family business run by a very polite couple. They listened to our requirements and advised us. They kept us well informed and were of immense help during this emotionally difficult time. Sahaara supported my sister and I is both my mums funeral in 2017 and my dad's in 2023. In both cases they provided wonderful support at very difficult points in our lives. They supported us at every stage and provided clear instructions. In particular with the traditional tamil elements of the pooja. Even helping us find a priest who spoke English to explain all the relevant steps and the locations. Overall Natasha provided a emotionally supportive service that was respectful and professional and I fully recommend them.

Sahaara organised my grandfather's funeral today and cannot fault anything from their service provided. Ranjit was very professional, friendly and helpful along with the hurse and limo drivers. From the consultation to the actual funeral, everything along with the time schedules were met to perfection. Didn't get the chance to meet Natasha but my American uncle spoke highly of her service. Thanks both for organising a faultless funeral giving my grandad the perfect send off. 5* service would highly recommend.
