What a terrible experience! I visited here around a year ago and the manicurist caught my cuticle and it bled badly. I wasn't happy and vowed to not return. Fast forward a year, and my Mum told me she'd booked herself in for a manicure and pedicure. I went with her to see if anything had changed. The therapist was lovely and the treatments went well, until Mum realised that her nails had already chipped. The therapist fixed this and carried on with her pedicure. When it came time to pay we were in for a big shock. Mum had been charged more than she originally was quoted (£10 more) The response when we challenged this was "that's the price" I asked for a manager and was told he wasn't in they day. We paid, and I asked that my details be passed to the manager to call me. We went on to have lunch and during this Mum's nails began to chip and crack. She was going away the next day, so ended up going to another salon to get these fixed. I had to chase up the manager for a response. Finally getting hold of him I was told he'd look into it and call me back. I waited a week. I had to call again. I was met with a disinterested staff member. I told her if I didn't hear from someone within 24hrs I would take to social media. I received a call from someone who told me she could sort my issue and would refund me money for a poor manicure. I explained I wanted this refunded as well as the extra we'd been charged for a pedicure. She had to get approval from her boss and we went back and forth on the phone. The last thing I heard from them was over a week ago when I was promised "a call back in literally 5 minutes" I think it's really poor of a company to treat its customers this way. The customer service is shocking. None of the girls in the shop seemed to care about our concerns and at least two of the girls walked off laughing. I'd recently been diagnosed with Bells Palsy and the look one of these young girls gave me as my face was dropping was disgusting. It's no wonder they find this service acceptable if the management can't even honour their own promises. Really disappointed. The shop has such good promise. I thought I'd found a great place to bring my friends for a pamper session. Turns out I haven't. I don't like to write negative reviews, but when a company has had every chance of fixing their mistakes, and still don't come good, I have no choice.

Had booked an appointment on treat well and then walked to salon to inquire about a massage. They had a massage available right away with Libby however they then said they were calling me to see if I could move my appointment I was asked to move it from 245 to 445 by Victoria who is very nice. I agree and then I did have to say would it be with her she said no it would be with Melissa. She offered a single does treatment as an alternative to say sorry and to be very kind for when I returned with my blow dry. I arrived and she was able to accommodate me with the treatment I was then given to Melissa who seems to be very new for my blood dry I asked for smooth hair with lots of volume especially in my crown. About halfway through I explain to Melissa that I wasn’t seeing the volume at all and she needed to go tighter and lift my route I was told your roots are already done when I then said some thing she stopped looked me in the eye and said you doYou not like what I am doing? Awkward. When getting a blow dry you have to start very tight and high and pull through Victoria gave her some pointers and it did look pretty when done however just not what I asked for. She seemed unable to listen or take Any suggestion and at that point I was offered a little bit of a tease back of my hair by Victoria. I also told her I don’t part my hair I work sort of tousled and that’s why the crown needs to be blown through the top. Was it cute? Sure I guess just not What I wanted and if you have somebody come back two hours later maybe they should be heard! More like 3.5 but the look I got from Melissa made me feel badly.

All in all a very nice looking salon. After spending most of my time doing my hair myself I found this salon and decided to make regular visits here instead of doing them myself. The lovely Sophie who welcomed me warmly did my first consultation but left shortly thereafter. I then moved on to another one of their stylists who did my hair for months. One time I had to have a consultation in the salon with another stylist as the one I normally went to was on holiday and felt that they spoke to me very harshly and abruptly and wanted nothing more than to get me out the door. At my last appointment I was appalled to hear the same stylist gossip about me to her colleague (who I also had the consultation with above) and another customer. These are not the only times negative things happened. I basically felt very disrespected on multiple occasions. I now see that Saks looks lovely on the outside but some of the stylists and staff there aren’t as nice as they let on and I’m sorry now that I have had to find another salon even though they have done my hair very well.

Terrible experience. I had previously had my eye lashes done here. I came back a month later to have them removed. I was told by the beautician that she couldn't see my previous appointment on their system and therefore 'it was not worth her time' to remove them for me. After she spoke to her manager she eventually agreed to remove them. This involved her not bothering to apply the pads properly and lathering my eyelashes in strong chemicals. She enrolled her friend to help her tug at at my eyelashes -- clearly desperate to do the job as quickly as possible. When I complained that my eyes were stinging she told me 'they will do'. I now have no eyelashes due to the way they were both pulling so rigorously. After the appointment she brusquely asked me if I wanted to book another appointment! When I explained that I had found the appointment very uncomfortable she did not apologise but stated 'no problem' in a deadpan, unmoved voice. Terrible customer service - there are so many lovely places in leeds to get your eyelashes done - please, please do not go here!

I've been attending the salon upstairs at Millies for several years for a variety of treatments, and have recommended it to a variety of friends and family. The girls who do the treatments are lovely, efficient, good at their jobs, polite, chatty, and really put you at ease. The results are excellent value for money. I couldn't fault the salon itself. However, I have yet to make an error free booking. The girls downstairs on the tills tend to be the ones booking in treatments, and they overlap appointments, book the salon girls in to work through their breaks, are impolite and inefficient on the phone, and end up turning every experience into a comedy of errors. After ample opportunities to prove themselves, I have given up, and will probably not be going back, despite the incredible work of the girls upstairs. If you do choose to go, I recommend taking the time to book in store, as you're more likely to get what you actually ask for. As for the Millies team downstairs... You really need to get your act together.

I paid £65 for lash extensions which had essentially half fallen out after a week despite being told I wouldn't need infills for 2-3 weeks. The la la lashes I usually get (which are half the price) last 3 weeks so I called to complain. I was told my options were 1 - pay half the price (£15) for infills (ON TOP of the £65 I paid a week ago? Nah) or I could have them removed for free only if I paid for more lashes putting on. Otherwise it would be £10 just to remove them. Either way they wanted money out of me despite my complaint? I find this ridiculous and will be going elsewhere from now on. The beauticians are lovely it's the owner which is clearly nothing but greedy and doesn't care about retaining customers.

WORST EXPERIENCE, I paid £95 for all my treatments at the salon but the First Lady who did my waxing and facial she did a horrible job. My skin was no glowing at all. There’s still hair on my legs. And during my treatment I had to tell her again and again that there’s hair here there hair there. The customer should not state that. The beauty therapist should know. However I would give 5 star for the other girl who did my eyebrows and chin wax and tint. She did a great job. And I will probs only go back there because of the second therapist. Some of them just don’t care. They just like to get over and done with it. And get their work done quick. I have to now shave the parts that are still hair

Just want to share my experience with Saks. The salon was accommodating— they were happy to take me in even in a few days notice. My initial colour consultation with Victoria was lovely— she thoroughly explained what colours would work for my skin tone and what I should expect. Lastly my experience with Naomi. She was so patient (I had a lot of hair) and she nailed the highlights and toning that I want and the hair cut that I want. I’m so happy with the result ‍♀️ I really think my hair is difficult to work with but Naomi did a fantastic job. I’m so glad I went with this salon as everyone was nice and welcoming too.

This is THE place to get takeaway lunch in town. Head to the back of the shop - the chefs are the stars of the show here - big salad bar with really tasty variety, but the hot food is astounding. Homemade in the shop, you'll see these guys stirring pans on the hob in the morning, in and out the oven. Rarely see the same meals twice, always a vegetarian option, and I'm reluctant to tell them they could charge far more for it - great value. Also do hot and cold sandwiches if that's more your thing..

I am editing my 3 star review which I wrote after my last month visit at the Millie’s beauty salon. I gave them another chance again and I had my shellac pedicure done yesterday. This time I was seen by Emma and I am over the moon. She is absolutely amazing as a person and as a beauty specialist. Caring, professional and attentive to customer needs. It was the first time in my life when I was so satisfied with my pedicure. Thank you Emma - will definitely be back!

I had the glamour lashes applied here at Millie’s. One eye was done perfectly and on the other eye, the lashes were wonky and pointing downwards, which looked awful and you could really tell to look at that they weren’t applied properly. Also my eye lashes fell out in literally a matter of days when they are meant to last 2-3 weeks. The staff were nice and they do student discount but because of this experience I wouldn’t go back again :(

Went for a wax and it was kind of just awful, I feel bad saying it because my therapist was really friendly and nice. But she missed loads of bits, I was caked in sticky wax residue when I left and it hurt a lot more than usual (I have been getting waxed regularly for nearly two years and usually do well with the pain). The deli and health food bit seems good, but I went for the beauty salon and was sadly disappointed.

They have ruined my lashes!! Went for a lash lift and it was the worst job ever. Instead of curling them they left them so straight up that I had to trim them down as they were rubbing my eyelid. Their explanation was that it was a lash lift and not a lash curl (!?!) they looked awful but now they're burnt and falling apart, no way to make them look a bit better, tried curler, mascara... Won't go back again

second time today getting my haircut by Sophie and i couldn’t recommend her more, i usually hate getting my haircut but Sophie is so lovely and puts you right at ease, cutting my hair to exactly how i like it and styling it beautifully, both times my hair has felt so soft and healthy afterwards. the whole salon aswell is so calming, clean and welcoming. 10/10 really can’t recommend anymore!!

The selection is nice, can find some interesting ingredients that are hard to source elsewhere. Unfortunately the atmosphere is off putting. Staff is not welcoming and watches you as if you are about to steal something when you are browsing. Saying hi or offering assistance instead of just watching would be a step up in customer service and encourage a more positive shopping experience.

Sophie gave me an amazing hair cut for my birthday! She not only blow dried my hair but also took the time to use the straightener. I really appreciate that as I have curly hair that’s likely to get frizzy later on in the day. It’s about 3 weeks later now and my hair still feels fresh and healthy!! I booked through Treatwell with a first time discount, but I will definitely return (:

I had my leg waxing done here today. The lady was doing it in little hurry. In rush, she missed few of my hairs unwaxed, in reply she said that she is running out of time. If that is the case she should have booked me earlier instead of doing the things in hurry. Not at all happy with service. Will avoid going to such place where there is lack of professionalism.

Got my hair cut off. Service was 10/10. Did exactly what i wanted, the hairdresser was very gentle and chatty! Got a mini head massage when washing my hair. Give free drink as well. If you're a new customer, its half price on your first treatment. Check their website, it'll say 50% off. You can pick any of your choice. Simply show the receptionist. :)

How come no one is reviewing the organic food store and cafe, I didn't even know there was a beauty salon attached to it!? Very confusing. I haven't eaten there, so not a great basis for a review, but the selection of products in the shop was impressive, the salad bar looked good and the cafe prices extremely good value for money. Staff were nice too.

Honestly when it comes to Healthfood stores, Millies is my top choice! Such a large variety of products. I decided to give their sandwiches ago today. And I must say I’m extremely impressed with the quality and taste. (I had a vegan cheese+ roast veg sandwich). The ladies who served me were so nice and polite!! (8:45am on 27/02/2020)

I recently had an amazing haircut experience with Rohan, and I couldn't be happier with the results! He took the time to understand my preferences and translated them into a haircut that suited me perfectly.

The worst experience of my life absolutely incompetent and without interest, I spent a lot of money on waxing, They’ve only wasted my time and money and now I’ll have to spend more money to do it all over again I will never come again and I was very disappointed, I hope I get at least an apology

Lovely little salon in Leeds city centre. My first visit so took advantage of the reduced price offer for first time customers. Naomi is very professional and discusses with you exactly what you require. Very pleased with my trim. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Treat yourselves ladies!

I always go to Millies for my waxing, i have tried a few places in Leeds but they are by far the best. All the girls are really friendly, proffessional and offer a good service. With my student card it is a really good price. As well as this i love the shop and all the goodies as a vegan

Hit and miss depending on who is doing your treatment. My massage therapist was nice enough but had long nails which I felt scraping down my back which was disgusting. She also didn't communicate with me at all about needs. Atmosphere is wonderful, staff could do with a bit of training.

The hairdresser clearly didn't want to cut my hair. It was an hour appointment and spent 15-20mins. I paid to have it washed and blow dried and she said that I didn't need it. She barely cut my hair and I didn't recognise that I'd had a haircut. Very disappointing, will not return.

I had a shellac French manicure and pedicure done with Emma and it was a lovely experience. Excellent work and a very nice treat. Also, 20% student discount makes prices very affordable. I will definitely recommend it and I will come back for nail art with her soon.

Never been to Leeds before.. looked for somewhere to get food. Found this place.. awesome hot food, had sausage casserole and black rice, quinoa, Bulgar wheat... Really tasty. Definitely a good choice. Wish we had one of these in Norwich.. would eat everyday here

This was one of the worst waxing experiences of my life. The lady used wax that was too hot, so besides the pain, i also have marks of burns now. She also did a sloppy job and i had to finish waxing at home. Don't recommend this to anyone!

Eyelash extensions were pretty much a waste of money. I specifically asked for volume and I spent $85 for my lashes to basically look the same. Didn't want to fuss about it when I saw it, but I wouldn't recommend getting your lashes here.

Went for eyebrow tint and reshape, came out with completely wonky eyebrows, and they were a dark brown which didn't match my hair at all. Wouldn't recommend getting eyebrow treatments here!
