Clean, fast security check, long walk to baggage claim from gates Let’s start with the positives. I love how clean the airport was. TSA was very efficient and was able to get the long line to move along in a timely manner. I love the space that they give in the bathroom stall. Now you can actually maneuver even if your luggage was in there with you. The art in the walls are great! I love the movement in them. I see the effort to be eco friendly with recycling and to be inclusive. I appreciate the option to dump your water out and to keep your bottle. It would be cool if there was a community refrigerator available where people can put their unopened bottles in there instead of throwing them out because no liquids are allowed on board the flight. I’m sure we can bless others that way. Some of the cons are the long walk from the gates to baggage claim. I met an elderly gentleman who had shortness of breath due to his health conditions, trying to walk to baggage claim. I insisted on pushing him in a push chair and he was so appreciative and said, “I’m so grateful because I couldn’t have made this walk without you.” If this distance of walking remains, can y’all please advocate for our elderly? Have someone pick them up in golf carts, have clear signage, or have staff who ask to assist them on their walk with a push chair. Our grandmas and grandpas don’t like to ask for help for fear of being a bother. They are not. We need to love on them. Signage was not present or wasn’t seen coming from the rental car location. Many people didn’t know that they had to go to level 3 to drop off their checked bag. Over all I recognize the efforts that SLC airport is making. There is always room for improvement. We hope that you will take our feedback into consideration. Thank you!

This airport does Salt Lake City proud! It is spacious and airy, with shiny, sparkly new terminals and more construction underway. The passageways, gates and restrooms are spit-polished and clean, and the floor-to-ceiling windows throughout provide beautiful sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. The excellent range of local restaurants (including some of my favorites!) and shops give visitors to the city a taste of what a longer visit has to offer. The designers clearly are considering the desires and needs of contemporary travelers, with charging ports at every seat at the gates, free wifi, and no-touch fixtures in the bathrooms. Baggage claim is spacious, well-signed, and efficient. The only thing you need to be aware of is the possibility that if you are connecting through Salt Lake City to a small airport, chances are good that you’ll be directed to remote gates accessed by gate B21. A ramp leads down to shuttle buses that drive to the gates out on the tarmac. This takes a bit of time. People with mobility issues may want to consider requesting assistance if they arrive at one of these gates, as the hike up the ramp might seem uncomfortably long and steep. From the look of things, the construction making this necessary is not likely to be finished in the very near future. I fly a lot, and a nice airport makes a long layover much more bearable. That’s certainly true about this one.

I would have to admit, SLC International is a very fine airport. Newly renovated and progressively improved for the increase in travel to and from Utah, the airport was done well. Positives: clean and spacious to start. Sometimes the spaciousness can be overwhelming, especially if you are not prepared for the walk under the tarmac. Unless you fly delta, you may have to walk a distance. This isn’t an airport you want to be cutting your flight close though. I do appreciate the bathroom cleanliness every time I have been there. Also they designed the bathrooms with sensible features for travel. I never understood having an airport bathroom with nowhere to hold your items when you travel. The airports like that usually have the nasty restrooms. Downside: the size is one but also a plus. The walk can be annoying (if I fly southwest, that’s when I have to walk and use the conveyor system but it’s a good exercise and now I know, I get to this airport early. TSA is okay, as much as they can be. I enjoy this airport though, from the parking to the amenities inside; stores all around. Good food locations, coach store, quality electronic stores, of course everything is airport pricing but that is already expected. If you ever are at SLC international, please enjoy and take care of our airport. It will return the favor. Safe travels

Exceptional Experience at Salt Lake City Airport As a solo traveler passing through the Salt Lake City Airport, I was struck by the exceptional cleanliness and tranquility of the place, especially considering it was just after Thanksgiving. The airport wasn’t overcrowded, making my short wait quite pleasant. What made my experience particularly memorable was observing a young family nearby, likely heading home after their Thanksgiving celebrations. The father, engaging with his young son, was reading a book to him. It wasn’t just any book, but a story about honesty and the importance of telling the truth. The patience and affection with which he taught his son were heartwarming to witness. This small, intimate moment amidst the hustle of travel was a gentle reminder of the enduring values of family and honesty. It’s not often that an airport layover leaves you with a lasting impression of warmth and positivity. Kudos to Salt Lake City Airport for not only its spotless environment but also for being a setting where such beautiful human moments can unfold.

I recently experienced airport security at SLC and I wanted to share a positive review of the overall process. The security personnel were not only efficient but also displayed a commendable level of professionalism and courtesy. Despite the inherent challenges of managing a high volume of travelers, the staff maintained a calm and organized environment. The security screening procedures were thorough yet conducted with a respectful approach, creating a sense of safety without unnecessary intrusion. Additionally, the use of advanced technology seemed to streamline the process, contributing to shorter wait times. Overall, my experience with airport security at SLC left me impressed with the dedication of the staff to both passenger safety and customer service. I appreciate the efforts made to strike a balance between thorough security measures and a positive traveler experience.

The airport is new and beautiful! The bathrooms are clean and everything is modern. As a local, some of us jokingly call it the “Pioneer Children Memorial Airport” because B gates are only accessible by a long walk. Delta customers are the lucky ones with the regular airport experience (not a 25-minute walk) until the next projects get completed. It sounds like 2024 is when some additional access will be added. Projects like this have phases … there are growing pains, but I’m excited for what it will be once the full airport is completed! Also, I love that the airport acknowledges the long walk with funny signs that advertise the airport construction phases! (E.g. “Doctors recommend 10,000 steps per day. We’re just looking out for your health.” and “Consider this a warm up for hiking our 5 national parks.”)

This is a very A class airport. The first time I had a connection through Salt Lake City I was not looking forward to it because it was in Utah. But upon my arrival into the airport my jaw physically dropped to the floor. I was stunned by the absolute beauty in the architecture of this airport. It's clean, modern and sleek and very clean! The delta sky club was by far one of the best I've ever seen. It featured extravagant views of the runways and I was able to sip coffee while feeling like an average white dad watching the planes take off. I was very pleased with my experience in this airport. If you have the pleasure of connecting through you will have a great time. Thank you SLC for the great views and the mediocre sky club coffee ☕️

Great experience at the new airport. As a Utah local I love the way they made this amazing new facility without causing any interruptions in any of my flights and we fly multiple times a year. That is impressive. Thanks SLC airport planners! It has been very nice with the new art, tall ceilings, and open layout. Security is super fast, as long as you don’t go when everyone is traveling and wants work off, and even then, definitely less than an hour. They have very up to date security screening lines that speed up things. I just really like the vibe of the new airport. Very modern. Very appreciative of the TSA staff and SLC airport staff who seem to have it together. It seems like a great place to work.

This was only my third time at this Airport. Yet, it was the first time that my Layover was longer than expected. I was able to go outside and take a breath and get some pictures. This Airport is Amazing with its Architecture; Natural Lighting and in all its Diversity in Cultural Foods. The Restrooms and Public Walkways were Clean and the Atmosphere was Calming. Even though MY Next Flight Connection was Delayed; The T.S.A. Employees Kept Everyone in the Loop about the Weather Conditions and Our Flight Status. I enjoyed my Layover here, very much and hope to Land Here again. And as a 100% Rated Disabled Veteran; I was able to use the U.S.O. Thank You for that!

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Salt Lake City International Airport: a bright, spacious hub with numerous food options. The ambiance exudes a clean, welcoming vibe—kudos for the cleanliness! However, here’s the scoop: get your running shoes on for the marathon from gate to baggage claim. It’s an Olympic dash! Don’t expect to snag your bags swiftly if you’re tardy. The airport’s plethora of food choices caters to every craving, a definite plus. The downside? The distant trek feels like a mini-tour. Despite the baggage hike, it’s a clean, airy space with plenty of dining options that earns Salt Lake City International Airport a solid four stars! ✈️

Very modern airport with lots of work and improvements. However, that underground walk from terminal B to terminal A is no joke. You better have good comfortable walking shoes and have plenty of time to make it to your gate. Besides that, I hope the new construction addresses those areas of need. There are plenty restaurants and cafes. It you have access to the Delta lounge, by all means please take advantage of it. It’s modern and comfortable. Some of the planes are debarking close to the gates and the passengers are then bussed to temporary ramps. The walk in the heat can be exhausting but it’s just temporary.

This is a nice airport. There are a lot of shops. It is clean. I like the Utah specific shops. I bought some salt there...$9.00, the most expensive salt I have purchased in my life, but, hey, how often can you get Utah salt? ...Hope it's good, and good for me! The restrooms were clean and spacious with shelving and hooks for bags. Big plus tp SLC for that!! They had a Coach store as well as a place to get a pedicure in Terminal A. Terminal B is not quite as retail stocked. Nice airports like these make me want to browse. It is worth checking out.

  • Neerja Bakshi-Sharma

I think this is my new favourite airport in the US! It’s beautiful, very aesthetically designed, bright, colourful, clean and cheery. Lots of areas to sit and wait, and it wasn’t that crowded even on Memorial Day weekend so huge win. Lots of nice shops to browse, actual good airport restaurants and cafes including a 24/7 Starbucks. And reasonable ‘outside’ priced stuff, you don’t pay the godawful airport tax here. I spent a nice long while on the couches in the atrium and would do so again!

  • Tim Frantz

The airport is divided into 2 concourses : A and B. It is a modern airport with lots of space to roam about. The seating all has power so you can charge your stuff. They have lots of places to eat and shop. The bathrooms are clean and big. The scenery is also amazing! I'm looking at snow covered mountains all around. The flight coming in was bumpy. Looks like Salt Lake may have been a large lake basins at one time? The also have recycling bins and hand sanitizer throughout. Great airport.

  • Greg Eakins

This might be the nicest airport I've ever been to. It looks like it was recently built or renovated, and they spared no expense. Organization is great - it's very easy to get around this place. They have a wide range of shops in the two terminals, and best of all, the place is ridiculously clean! The bathrooms are large enough to accommodate traffic and not always be nut to butt with other travelers. I interacted with some of the night staff here and they were really friendly.

  • John Kunz

Easy to get in and out. I dropped off my son the other night after having him here with me for three weeks. The parking garage is the best place to park if you want a long goodbye that extends right up to the Security Checkpoint. I generally park in the Premium section which is the first level for a brief amount of time which doesn’t seem to bother anyone. I’m usually in and out in under an hour which costs $5. Best $5 I ever spent. It’s super clean and current.

  • JustBreathe

The airport is very nice and has nearly everything you'll need to entertain yourself and a great variety of different restaurants. One negative that made me question the planning process of putting this place together is waiting for the economy parking bus. The line in front of the airport stretched the entire walkway area. We waited almost an hour just to get into the bus to retrieve our vehicle. Someone needs to up the bus traffic to move people quicker.

I'm sure this will be a wonderful remodel once it's done but it's a horrible setup at the moment. To get to, for example, B19, you enter at the main checkpoint, walk all the way through A Concourse, go under the tarmac through a tunnel to B Concourse, then walk back to roughly the same place you started, just on the other side of the tarmac. Allow for EASILY 25 minutes of walking once you clear security if your gate is at the far end of the B Concourse.

  • Gregory Smith

First time at this airport in some time. The A concourse is large, neat, clean and spacious. The Delta Sky Club in Concourse A is also very nice, comfortable with plentiful food and drinks, various seating configurations, and amenities. There is a long, walkable tunnel that also had moving transports between A and B concourses. There is still quite a bit of construction ongoing here, but overall the airport is quite nice and easy to navigate.

  • Alexander Turlov

The airport is relatively new and modern. It's not large compared to other state capital airports but it's roomy and well organized. Car rentals and returns are very convenient, there are enough shopping places and restaurants, access to gates is convenient and easy with large enough sitting space. Ground transportation is easily accessible and convenient. The check-in area is spacious, and the security check was efficient and fast.

  • Natalia S.D.

One of the best airports I have ever visited, for a number of reasons: well organized, nicely decorated, very decent places to eat, good customer service, wheelchair accessible (you can find wheelchairs to use all over the airport. Security is fast and everyone there is very polite and profesional, also helpful and nice. Gates have proper P.A. And information. There are many hotels and transport devices near by. We loved it!

  • Bindiya Mansharamani

It’s huge, extremely spacious. We missed our flight because you need to do customs first, for which you. We had to wait 20 minutes for our baggage (which didn’t come) then customs then put the bags back on the belt, then immigration. Took a long time and flight left. If you are flying in from an international port, make sure you buffer an hour or 2. Over all extremely happy with the staff and cleanliness of the airport.

  • Debisree Ray

Loved the airport. I arrived and departed through this airport during my visit to Salt Lake City. The airport was near, and clean. The washrooms were very clean and new. The security check was good, and went smoothly. My flight was in concourse A, however I walked to concourse B to see off my husband. There are multiple good food options in the airport. I hardly find this good food scene in the airports.

  • Jennifer Watson

Beautiful airport. The view of the mountains is breathtaking. Airport was very clean, easy to navigate, with digital signage at each gate, so you can't get lost. Variety of restaurants in the food court and snack bars / gift shops along the way. Restrooms were updated and clean. I did not try to log into the airports wifi, but there were USB and power cable charging stations at every seat.

  • Hope Sibo

New construction was too good for real but be ready to walk for so long . I was very tired and lost l totally couldn't fid my terminal but in the end so far l found one of employee works there . She. Redirect me and found some to walk me there . Then l met my boy freind friends work there too he was happy to buy me drink and food as well. Thank you guys

  • Matthew Montague

Definitely one of the easier airports to use. A lot less busy, cleaner, and able to easily handle the traffic it gets. There’s lots of eating options inside and the new terminal is very nice. Be warned if you are rushing to get to your flight, you WILL have a lot of walking if your airline of choice does not reserve the closer gates.

  • David Borough

Great airport. Getting better all the time. Clean. Clear directions/signage. Clean. Great security line. Great parking/waiting area. My only complaint is airport security needs to just ticket people for parking when their passengers aren't at the curb. It's a complete mess when there is plenty of great parking to wait for people.

  • Joey C.

Living in Singapore and having Changi’s Jewel and Terminals 1, 2 and 3 as my home airport, it’s hard to find other airports interesting. The newly built Salt Lake City has done a pretty good job of reinventing itself. It’s such a please airport from aspects. Definitely deserves kudos to the planning team.

  • Anthony Escobar

The new terminal is AWESOME! They outdid themselves. It is so esthetic and visually pleasing. Love the decor and all the new rooms and amenities. Only downside is how long of a walk it is now to get to baggage claim. Otherwise, love the new look and how it highlights aspects of Utah.

  • fonerules

Nice airport ! Upgraded and still upgrading the whole airport. Everything is clean and accessible. Lots of eateries for the family while you wait for your flight ✈️. We had 3 hour delay when our plane broke when we were pushing back from the gate. Oh well, that's life, right ?

  • Bree

Great restaurants and shops but the airport traffic controllers need better training. Also shouldn’t wait 30 min for someone to open a gate for our plane to come into. Either hire more people or getting better scheduling constantly waiting on these things with night flights.

  • Cintia Molina

Everything looks so new and sparkly clean at this airport a beautiful place. A piece of advice wear comfortable shoe distances are long between TSA to the gates, and B gates took me a little over a mile and a half to get to B 15, I got all my steps at the airport that day.

  • Mohammadreza Behnejad

Beautiful architecture, clean and easy access airport. Free wifi available, plenty of convenient seating with electricity. TSA Security check line was horrible and took about 45 minutes in line. Good selection of restaurants and shops also available. Very friendly staff.

  • AE Goes

Clean, bright modern terminal. Generous gate size with ample seating. Plenty of nearby restrooms. Charging port at every seat. Food/bev near every gate. Moving walkways in terminal to expedite transit between gates. Good selection of franchise establishments.

  • Omae wa Mou Shindeiru

Nice, organized airport. Love thier quick security check up. It’s a long walking distance from A to B gates. However, the airport is nicely maintained, so you’ll enjoy the walk. There are a lot of restaurants including Panera, Shake Shack, Panda Express.

  • Praneet Raj

Super impressed with this airport. One of the best airports in US I have seen, love the design concepts. Only challenge is the lack of variety of Lounges. They only have Delta Sky club which is why I gave a 4 star otherwise everything is great.

  • Chase Saxton

The cleanest airport I've ever been in! I'm glad they finally fixed some do the long walking issues to B Gates by having the escalator belt. Really great restaurant options. Parking always seems to be fairly easy too. Great job, SLC Airport!

  • Barry G

Nice and modern. Adequate space to move around. Could probably have a few more food choices. Baggage claim was efficient. Just be warned that if you are flying in or out of the B gates there is at least a 10-12 minute walk from security

  • Dale Catt

Airport itself is great, shuttle redesign is poorly configured. Watched a line of 500 people wait for the “blue line” while 4 “red line” shuttles came and went virtually empty. Need to have more blue or notice what’s happening and pivot

  • Chris Aingworth

One of the nicest airports I have had the pleasure of visiting. Really simple to get around. The security screening has to be the most efficient and least stressful I've had to go through and overall it is a beautiful and clean place.

  • Isaac Romero

I was impressed with how organized the SLC airport is; Uber/Lyft drop-off has its own spaces, and when requesting it, it makes it easier for both to meet up. When you go to Terminal B, you walk underground, and the murals have cool

  • Lancealot

So awesome love this airport and staff. They take care of this beautiful place. Clean and brand new. So this suitecase is amazing and fast to and from the other sides of any airport. Check it out and have us send one to you.

  • Bill Keegan

The new SLC airport is great, they just expanded terminal A and more restaurants are coming and it has clean Bathrooms, fast and friendly TSA agents, lots of plugs from charging devices while waiting for your plane

  • Ricardo Macpherson-Ortiz

Nice and clean airport. If you come into Terminal A and have a connecting flight in Terminal B, you need a good half hour to beat the crowds and you must use the moving walkways at a decent clip. Stay in shape.

  • Mike Castañeda

What is going on with the B gates and the walking distance. Escalator down then 7 minute walk through tunnel then escalator up. What gives and thank you for the cardio work out. Fix this please.

  • David Gervic

New international airport. Wide spaces everywhere. Restaurants and stores along the two main hallways. Cons: if you are not flying with Delta, be prepared for a 15 - 25 minutes walk

  • Ketaki Kulkarni

A long walk from terminal A to terminal B, so be prepared with time to do that, it's about 10 mins walk. The pet relief area at terminal B is humongous and beautifully built!

  • Melinda Jennings

Beautiful new airport. You'll walk 1/2 mile to get luggage, not kidding. Poor planning. They should have completed the train along with the airport. It's supposedly coming.

  • William Broadhead

Coming along. Still, you want to be in the A Terminal vs the B Terminal. 2023-03 Still waiting for a speedier A to B transfer. Just plan on a little hike still for now.

  • Montesa Currie

It's smaller than Denver but seems to have more walking involved my legs miss those extra free train rides. Slept overnight definitely not comfortable. …

  • Marcelo E. Lopez A.

Beautiful new remodel airport. The distance between terminal A and B is quite a lot, but they have moving bands in a tunnel. A lot of food and drink options.

  • F. R. (Effective Problem Solving)

Very nicely done Salt Lake City. Beautiful, trendy, easy to move between gates. Except Delta lounge is a waste, busy and unfriendly.

  • Joe Darragh

Cean, modern, and beautiful airport. Fast security. They have CLEAR , and stunning snow capped mountain views from wherever you are.

  • APRIL THOMPSON

I love SLC Intl, beautiful airport, clean bathrooms, no lines waiting for bathroom, no huge hangups anywhere. 100% better than MCO.

  • Marco Castaneda

Beautiful airport, in particular during Xmas season. Functional and amazing travel experience. Keep up the good job. …

  • Sharon Doyle

It is a bigger airport than you would imagine. It took us almost 30 minutes to walk to the car rental places. It was ok.

  • Brad Kosar

Nice airport. Close to downtown. B terminal is a long walk from security so be sure to give yourself a 10min cushion.

  • JD Kirk

Never have a complaint. It's one of the nicest airports I have been through. Lots of options for food and drinks.

  • Lizabeth Rolfson

Some of the best gift shops. Aside from the long new walkway it’s a great airport. TSA is super quick!

  • Erin Sheedy

Just a quick layover! Spacious Bathrooms! So many food options!
