I moved to Artarmon earlier this year (2023) and came across this lovely cafe while out walking my dog. It’s a small place but the food, coffee and drinks are all fantastic. My favourite is the risotto with king crab and the burgers are pretty tasty too. The chips are crispy and well seasoned. Chef Khan, his sidekick, Nick and Hassan at the front of house, along with the entire staff are super friendly. Service is top notch. There’s always a good vibe and I’ve been returning almost every weekend. There’s been talks about starting a dinner service in the near future offering cocktails and a modern Asian menu. I look forward to this. A must if you’re in the area even if it’s just to grab a quick take away coffee.

Just wow! We were pleasantly surprised at how amazing the food here is. It’s definitely not your ordinary breakfast! We had A01 (Crispy Rice). and A06 ( Spaghetti with Chilli Prawns in Aglio e Olio Pasta). The servings looked so big that my husband and I thought we couldn’t possibly finish them; only to be proven wrong by our squeaky clean plates by the end of the meal . The food looks as good as it tastes so we were very happy. The food is a bit on the expensive side for breakfast but we definitely do not mind paying more for something that good— an explosion of textures and flavour! Yum! We were served by Hassan who was very attentive and had really good customer service. This kind of service made our breakfast even better. We will definitely be back. P.S. We went back today and had the lobster pasta and pesto pasta with burrata. It was so creamy and delicious. I only managed to take 1 photo as I just had to tuck in immediately.

This is the cutest little "hole in the wall" cafe just outside Artarmon Station. I drink Earl Grey Tea, rather than coffee, and the water was served boiling, as it should be (often coffee shops serve tea too cold). The food selection looks great, from starters to main meals, lunch and dinner, and snacks. I had a Blueberry Ricotta Muffin, which was all kinds of sweet, moist decadence. The ambience was great, most people sitting outside on communal tables under shades. It seems to be a hangout (at least on week-ends) for locals catching up, or powering their Internet business. Definitely ask for light refreshments and cakes etc if that's what you're looking for. The menu seems to cover the main meals, but there are definitely treats available that aren't on the menu. Service was fantastic. Really friendly and casual. The staff couldn't do enough for me. Even providing extra hot water for my tea because I asked for a mug with the teapot rather than a cup.

We had brunch on recent Saturday at this popular cafe near Artarmon station and ordered their two signature dishes i.e. the hash pull-pork w/ sourdough toast and fried eggs while second dish was benedict eggs with hollaindaise sauce, spinach and butter croissant. Both dishes are quite hearty and decent, full of good nutrition. We love the egg benedict better since the pull pork was a bit too sweet for our taste-buds. Prices are quite steep but they use good ingredients so not too bad. Their coffee / cappucino was decent as well. You cannot expect much ambience since the place was quite small and located in a busy small lane packed with Japanese restaurants, supermarkets and cafes. The customer service from staff members were a bit minus since they were too busy to even properly greet us and take our order. However, at least you can pay with credit cards with no surcharge, including Amex card which is quite decent and rare practice nowadays.

This place has set the new standard for casual dining for me...the service was prompt and exceptional, we were a large group and somehow an appropriate size of table was conjured up for us. The menu was informative and easy to read, plenty of options without being overcomplicated. The staff were super-friendly and polite and the food was prepared and delivered in very good time. The food itself was excellent, fresh ingredients and clean-tasting, the size of the dishes also made them good value. The coffee was also excellent, it really hit the spot! The foam art was a delightful touch. (Accidentally) discovering and experiencing this wonderful little cafe was a highlight of my visit to Sydney! 100% reccomended

Let me start by saying the food I had was very tasty and well presented, and the atmosphere and service were excellent. However the reason for my visit was to have a coffee. I have been here maybe half a dozen times in the past but not for a few years. I was in the area and thought that it was a good opportunity to get what I remember being an exceptional coffee. I had a double espresso, a Columbian single origin, but was a little disappointed. It was still well above average but I could not taste any of the characteristic notes, a little bitter, tasting like something closer to a blend. That said, overall the experience was very positive and I would still come back here.

I placed an order mainly because Deliveroo had a 20% off discount for everything on the menu. Ordered the lobster eggs Benedict and Alaskan crab risotto. Overall it was average. The risotto needed salt. The Alaskan crab wasn’t that great, and the lobster was either frozen (not fresh lobster) or was severely over cooked as it was pretty dry. The eggs Benedict overall was okay but I wouldn’t order from here again as the food wasn’t very satisfying. The best thing about the eggs Benedict was the eggs. The dishes looked better than they tasted. Rated 2 stars cause the juice was okay lol. Not worth buying in my opinion. If we weren’t in lockdown I’m sure it would’ve been slightly better to eat in, but either way, the food wasn’t nice enough for me to bother eating in once the lockdown is lifted. Sorry..

  • Liz Gill

Very disappointing. You could see why the coffee shop next to this one was packed. We ordered a breakfast wrap which was supposed to have a hash brown .......well it did but it was soggy and in the wrap rater on the side. Additionally the egg was hard and over cooked and they forgot a coffee that had been ordered. Then to top it off we were hit with a 12% surcharge on a Saturday morning.........Further the fact that there was a surcharge was not made obvious until AFTER we paid the bill and checked the receipt. Leaves a lot to be desired when there are other cafes to choose around Artarmon station So pay attention to cafes that have better patronage as they are more likely to be much better. Very disapointed customers

It's rare that I give a rating below 3 however this was my experience this morning. The waiter appeared to be inconvenienced when we asked if there are menus and promptly reminded us that the menu is on the chalk board on the all. We were told that large coffees are not available. Then seemed inconvenienced when we asked for our coffees in large take away cups instead. They wanted to charge an extra $7 for avocado on top of a $5 toast - that's $12 for avocado on toast. I ordered toasted sourdough with poached egg. I literally got toasted sourdough with poached egg on top - no butter!! So the toast was dry and pretty boring. On the plus side the waiter remembered all our orders without needing to write anything down.

  • Linda H

Loved this place in the past (over one year ago). Decent food and friendly service. But I won't be going back after my two recent visits, because service is lacking . The cashier would hike up $ depend on what you order. Some would be $3 and some up to $5 (looking at you Lobster Benedict). A sign for PRICE changes should be advertised on the menu pages, announced by waiters before orders are placed. To be caught off guard at the end of our meal with over $100 bill for breakfast (3 ppl) is craycray... Just because with that kind of expenditure I would at least be sitting in a better and roomier space‍♀️

A quirky little cafe that makes the Artarmon shops better, in my opinion! Artarmon station has always lacked a coffee shop that has great coffee. The coffee is fantastic. Their coffee is smooth and easy to drink, no bitter taste at all. I haven't had the chance to try their food, but there are always some interesting food on offer. The service is fantastic, always professional, polite and attentive, I could not complain one bit about their service. The price is a bit on the steep side, their coffee cups are rather small. For a bit over $4 for a large, the actual size of the cup might be a small for your regular coffee shops.

  • L “Ender Dragon”

We used to go to this little cafe before lockdown, it wasn’t bad. They probably changed owners. I wish there was a 0 star. Just came back from lunch with a friend, we ordered prawn spaghetti and lobster Benedict, horrible food. The eggs were definitely overcooked. And the lobster is not fresh! Very strong putrid smell, definitely not from the caviar. Changed to plain toast for safety, and got charged for $10. I’m not sure if they even toasted the bread or not, cold and soft. Don’t go there if you don’t want get food poisoning.

Had lobster prawn pasta and lobster caviar Benedict. The taste was good for both dishes and the lobster and prawns are fresh. The service was good. I would have given five stars except … For the pasta, it would be better if it’s less oily and adds some veggies to lighten the dish. The Benedict can be better if the second half of the croissant is not placed under the spinach so that it can maintain she texture better (the spinach was seasoned well).

I use to love this place but since the new owners have taken over this place it has changed dramatically which is very disappointing. The avocado on toast with feta, red quinoa and egg tasted off and stale I thought I was going to vomit while eating it, when I informed the waitress she shrugged off my comment and said it was made fresh today, took my plate away then hid in the kitchen. I paid the $24 owing and left. I won't be returning to this cafe after the old expired food and almost vomiting while eating it, it's a shame after being a loyal customer for 5 years plus

  • Leung Bigeyes

Price show on menus it could be not what you pay....... Order 3 spaghetti at $28 each refer on menus, I expect pay $84 in total, but end up $94.08....... i wasn't aware when I was pay the bill when I order takeaway, after food is ready, I ask for receipt, and he say, because you pay cash, you get $0.08 cents off......thanks God...... Anyway, after I review past victim message on Google, I find that was 12% surcharge without let customer know or show on menus...... I mean, they made really good foods, but is not the way to made more money......

I've been to this hipster cafe a few times now and must say that it's been a great experience. The coffee is great and cannot be faulted in my opinion. I've only had the muffins s at this point in time and found them to be really good. This small cafe offers get atmosphere with a great coffee and sweets. I have found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. I do feel they are a bit pricey for a coffee however the location and atmosphere is a good compromise. Well done Salvage, it would be great to see more cafe's like this around.

  • Paul Watkins

Out of the 3 cafes on that side of the train line, Salvage is our favourite, and the one we _always_ choose. The coffee is consistently excellent. The whole beans for sale are always fresh and of good quality. The staff are incredibly friendly, and there are always plenty of local regulars there. The food is great with loads of interesting choices rather than the standard fare of most places. And like most places these days, itsdog friendly.

While I can't blame the rain on these guys, the limited wet outdoor seating is a consideration. I spent half the time swatting away Myna birds looking for a feed, and it seems the staff just let them roam free to collect the scraps left on tables. Anyway, I only had a coffee and it was horrible. For a long black it was weak and had a tangy taste to it. Why use two shots when one will do (when you want more than a one star rating). I was considering ordering food until I received the dingy looking photocopied menu's.

  • Shawn Naderi

If you're into Coffee, this place is as good as it gets on the north shore (or maybe Sydney). Knowledgable staff, amazing amazing beans and a warm welcoming service. One staff member stayed open late night to help me pick up some beans for use at home and we spent 20 minutes talking finer nuances of coffee and he showed me tips on how to improve my coffee making at home. I've also had their food (via a delivery service) in the past and it's been delicious.

The food quality was average however the main let down was the ridiculous price. On top of the already overpriced menu, at the end, you will have to pay additional surcharges, such as GST, service charge, card payment surcharge, lunch surcharge, Weekend surcharge, Sunday special surcharge, dining in surcharge, the boss just want to charge you surcharge etc....Overall, be prepared to pay 1.6 times the number you see in the menu.

  • Abigail

Specialty coffee at ethical prices. Worth every penny. Don't expect $3 coffee from here, and that's a good thing because they spend the money on sourcing top quality beans and paying their baristas for their skill. Will stop in there again literally every time I'm in Artarmon.

This is my second time getting coffee from this place and it’s the second time I have been disappointed. These are the moments when you realise that it’s not the coffee brand that matters but what the barista knows about coffee. In this instance the coffee brand is one of the best in the market but made in the worst example. Very disappointed! I scored it a ** because the temperature was good.

  • Walt N

Beautiful coffee accompanied by great customer services and sunny weather have made this experience superb. Got attracted by the rustic looking cafe with crowd enjoying their coffee and meals under the sun. Very ideal place to chillax and enjoy coffee at the outdoor area. Will definitely come back to try their other blend, raspberry sth. Nevertheless happy with the black Betty too!

  • Pierre Cabanon

One of the best place to get coffee in Artarmon. They have different blends every week and the staff is very friendly. They have a small menu for breakfast and most of them include melted cheese...you will not go there to work on your abs. I wouldn't recommend this place if you only have twenty minutes as it can take a long time even when you order a cheese toasty (small kitchen).

  • Ivan Tsaregorodtsev

Best coffee in Artarmon by a long way. Food is also fantastic, great selection of seasonal of dishes that take advantage of seasonal produce. Dishes are creative and are full of exciting flavours. Portions aren’t overwhelming, and delivery is excellent. We moved from the neighbourhood over 4years a go, but go out of our way to drop by every other weekend for delicious breakfast!

  • Linh Nguyen

Came for the awarded winning coffee and was pleasantly surprised by their food. The variety of breakfast can be improved, but they clearly know what they are doing for the stuff they offer. If you are a coffee fan and have a craving for a simple hearty breakfast, come by for their big brekkie. Oh and nice ambience also.

Very professional about their coffee knowledge, yet so easy going and relaxed. Just like meeting a friend for coffee. From world class coffee that’s won barista championships, to delicious fresh food. You won’t be disappointed. We buy a huge bag of their beans every month and my very picky husband makes his cold brew from them. They are his favorite!

  • Kevin LU

Was here for lunch today. Their coffee maker was very friendly and showed the different kinds of coffee beans they provide. Surprisingly a lot of award winning beans hard to find in other places. The service is quick and friendly. Had the beef short ribs. That seemed to be their signature dish. It was fantastic as well. Will be back.

For a place that basically sells toasties, this place is off-tap. It would be so much more popular if it wasn’t for the location. It’s not a bad location at all, however it is slightly hidden away (no view from the street). I can safely say that I have not had toasties as good as this. Make an effort to go here. You won’t regret it.

Visited Salvage for their taco dinner. Delicious tacos with chicken and port fillings. The loaded corn was also delicious. They offer local craft beers and gins on their menu. Located in the Wilkes Avenue eats strip next to Artarmon station. Staff are friendly and relaxed. Salvage is a great neighbourhood cafe for a relaxed meal.

We had the world barista champion --raspberry candy coffee this morning. It tastes and smells a bit sweet but different from sugar sweet and more fruity. I found I'm loving it when I first time drank it. And my gf loves it as well like she said she had never ever found such a way to enjoy coffee. We'll definitely visit it again.

Great coffee, geeat food and friendly staff. The outdoor seating area was relaxed and there were plenty of dogs at the tables - which is great to see. The barista really knew his stuff, and took the time to run me through their single origin coffees. There were several vegetarian options for breakfast.

Amazing little place near the station that is a must drop in! Coffee is by Ona and the espresso does not disappoint. The hot chocolate is proper Belgian chocolate and is super thick and creamy and oh so delicious. The toastie is something that poems could be written about. Do yourself a favour and go!

Great coffee! I can't help but always order the toastie. I see my friends order other delicious looking things, but the toastie is so good I cannot say no. Expect it to be a little more expensive as brekkie food goes. Looking forward to

Best bacon and egg rolls by far around here and great value. Hasan & Belle are very gracious and serving great coffee as well. Dog friendly completes a great experience. I’ll be back

Up there as one of the best coffee places in Sydney, but the food and service isn't up to scratch. The scrambled eggs tasted bland and we had to ask 3 different staff for salt and it didn't arrive until our food was cold.

$7.5 for a tiniest cup of milk shake, the strawberry milk shake is very pinky. Completely rip-off. I don't understand why it has 4 stars.

Nice coffee with latte art. Ham and cheese toastie is pricy ($12.5) but the taste is good.

Feel like being scammed. There is a 12% surcharge even on Saturday. The coffee is not bad but a $5 latge coffee plus surcharge is definitely not good value.

Really great food, coffee and service. My partner even said it was one of the best bacon and egg rolls he has ever had. I had the cheese toastie with pickle and it was super delicious. Wills definitely be back!

Great service with a smile. Very relax atmosphere, and food that is so well balanced in flavor and portion size. Will definitely recommend friends and family to this place. Will be back to try the other dish.

Nice coffee and breakfast roll. However, we can't continue to go there. Twice now they put cheese in my wife's food after saying we told them she is allergic to dairy. Once is ok but twice is red flag.

Nestled in a busy promenade in Artarmon, Salvage specialises in coffee, in a industrial chic space, indoor/outdoor dining. The inside is quite cosy, so i would recommend outdoors for more space.

The coffee was wonderful! Barista/owners were very friendly. We ordered piccolo, cold brew, manual brew, mocha, cappucino. All were perfect. Nice place, too... and clean restroom …

I would walk a hundred miles for their coffee! The coffee art is an added bonus... great village atmosphere and warm happy staff.

I used to go here quite a bit, but it looks like they’ve changed owners. Which is fine, but the customer service has gone downhill badly. Not sure I’ll be going back anytime soon More
