First the good- it’s clean, staff are pretty friendly, the overall library system in SF is amazing. Love the app! And this spot is quite convenient, near the T stop, mission bay, etc. My small complaints- the schedule is wacky. Often not open for full day. 2)The security guard shushes people if they talk. I know libraries are traditionally quiet but honestly I think it’s a mistake. We should encourage discourse. Talk about books, connect in any way. There could be a quiet room but honestly libraries are so underutilized- often empty-maybe it would help if people didn’t have to whisper? Tip toe? One of my kids even now, as an adult, hates libraries because he was shushed so much as a kid. I think silence is a leftover expectation. Better to create a warm environment. 3) Staff are pretty reluctant to help with finding things or checking out. They always direct you to the do-it-yourself kiosks. It’s just kind of sad and futuristic. I miss the old days when librarians talked about books or knew the regulars. That all said, I still love the library. It’s so radical that anything in life is free. And borrowing books is still free!

Phonograph records, compact discs, digital video discs, including Blu-Ray, are available. There are periodicals, fiction and nonfiction books, and a children's section. One limitation is that there is no easy way to print files from the public computers at this location. A few private rooms to reserve for quiet study or small meetings are available for reservation. Not too far from a Philz Coffee to one side and a riverside park on the other. The Peter Maloney Drawbridge and Gus's Community Market are also nearby. There is only paid street parking.

facing the river, this is a great little respite of the wildness of SoMa. Then, when you need a break from information, walk the river. :) note: this location is nearby a homeless shelter, so expect some. also note: double lock the bike and try to be in sight. The receptionist warned me it was stolen right in front of the library! (i guess cameras don't matter..?)

Oh it felt right at home, walking into the mission Bay library after 3 years. I missed you. I'm back home now. I enjoyed reading three books while spending an hour to charge my phone and battery pack to continue my exploration in the city. I loved the flower books and the creative art book. And enjoyed the view to the mission Creek Trail.

Went in today to become a member and it was such and easy and smooth process. The librarian who assisted was very welcoming and made joining the library worthwhile. They also have a great variety of new books available and I joined at the perfect time so I wouldn’t need to buy the books instead I can now borrow it.

My neighborhood library. Their selections are small yet enlightening since it's new books. Great to bring your laptop. It's pretty quite and lots of natural light and view of the Mission Creek. Now open 7 days a week. Wednesday's they stay open until 8pm and do have activities and events for kids and adults.

Some libraries don't even know how to send stuff from the library labtops but it's okay I forget it out to okay and way to small of a library it needs to be expanded out to more room and more longer hours to be opened for business and no security guard in the library every day either

They have an excellent children's section. Our daughter loves going in every week because they have puzzles and games in addition to all the books. The librarians also go out of their way to keep the kids engaged. For example, today they had a scavenger hunt with loads of prizes.

Small Library, great staff. Some questionable people do hang out in here (homeless) but theres always a security guard on duty at all times. I love to rent movies form here once a week. Great spot, right next to philz! BUT you cannot have

It's not very often these days that I actually get an opportunity to wake people up to the importance of good customer service skills in dealing with very particular situations. In this case, it's dealing with African Americans and THEIR

I didn't think to join the library, because I have been reading books on my smart phone for years. Then a friend told me about free electronic books to check out from the SF Library, so I went into this very lovely little branch library

Love this library. It's quaint and cozy and right by the water. It's also on the same block as Philz Coffee. It's not going to have the massive collection of books that SF Main has readily available on its shelves, but that's what your

Amazing staff. Yes, very small and not the greatest place to find quiet but they do have study rooms available if you sign up for them. Philz coffee next door in case you need a pick me like I do right now! Spot on location …

Quite a serene spot right on the canal in McCovey Cove, a block from Oracle Park. The workers are pleasant, there's security, and less desirables there lately. Computers, and a super easy checkout all add to a positive experience!

My grandson and I went to the library to check out books for him. He was so excited to find his favorite book.steam train dream train colors. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the library is very clean and easy to navigate.

Loudest library I've worked at. If you're looking for a quiet place to work or read, you're better off at Philz next door. Other than that, decent study/work area. One additional star added for helpful staff and study rooms.

Will close down for the smallest of reasons. The librarians are extremely unhelpful and start huffing and puffing when asked any question. The security officer inside is very nice and helpful.

Stopped by here to pick up a book at lunch. Staff was very helpful. I set up an account and checked out with my book, which they also helped me find, in under 10 minutes.

Cute, cozy, small library with limited hours and limited selection. It always seemed to be filled with seniors from the retirement home next door.
