I was really excited to try this place out since it opened. My husband and I made a one hour journey solely because I wanted to try their South Indian food which is what they’re famous for. Arriving there the staff treated us warmly since I had a broken leg they were really accommodating and made sure I was comfortable. The menu here was diverse. They have North Indian, Hakka food, South Indian, apps and sizzlers. I ordered Rava onion Masala dosa which I was super excited for. The sad part was I waited forever for my dosa to arrive. On asking the server she kept saying cz its rava dosa it takes time. I understand it takes time but seeing other tables served with that dosa when they came after us I was just having a hard time understanding that. I have a feeling they forgot that order but wouldn’t accept that and just kept telling me it would take longer. It was over half hour when I finally got my dosa I would say it was worth the wait the dosa was nice and crispy and exactly how I remember tasting it back in India and was awed by their sambhar and chutneys but I couldn’t really enjoy it as I was full from other food items. I additionally got their vadapav to try it out and was disappointed it was bite sized and def not worth the price I was paying don’t get me wrong it was delicious. I got their Chinese sizzler which was amazing. I’ve really missed having sizzlers in Canada and I’m so glad they have the perfect sizzlers.. I will def come back to try their North Indian dishes.

What a rare sight! A complete vegetarian north Indian, south Indian, and Indo-Chinese fusion food restaurant in Canada! I am amazed, and here is why. First of all, Sankalp has countless options. As a vegetarian, I am so impressed with this! There is also a no garlic/onion option which is awesome. The food itself is served hot and tasty! We ordered a Vegetarian Manchurian, Sweet Corn Soup, Crispy Corn, Afghan Paneer Burji, Naans, and a Crispy Golden Dosa. We over ordered in excitement, but the food was so delicious! The Vegetarian Manchurian was okay. In hunger, I only took pics of two items, but trust me when I say the food is served in large portions. The Sweet Corn Soup was nice, the Crispy Corn was crispy and yummy, and so was the Crispy Golden Dosa. The Afghan Paneer Burji was a recommendation and it was OH SO scrumptious! It was my favorite item, and is a MUST. The naans were soft and tasty. The ambience is nice, and the bathrooms are clean. The plates, glasses, and cutlery however are a bit dirty so I hope they improve that. The staff is very friendly and often check up on us to make sure we're doing well and enjoying everything. This is an incredible restaurant, and I am definitely revisiting!

I recently visited Sankalp Restaurant and tried some of their chef's special dishes. Here's my review of each: The Chef Special Matki Paav Bhaji Dosa was a delightful fusion of flavors. The dosa was perfectly crispy on the outside, and the filling of matki paav bhaji was flavorful and aromatic. The combination of the traditional dosa with the spicy and tangy bhaji worked surprisingly well together. Sambar and coconut chutney was made with traditional Indian spices. The Sev Puri was a burst of flavors in every bite. The puris were crisp and filled with a delightful mix of chutneys, sev, and various toppings. The balance of sweet, tangy, and spicy elements was on point. The Ghee Dosa was a classic preparation that satisfied my taste buds. The dosa had a perfect golden-brown color and was generously smeared with ghee, which added a rich flavor to every bite. The Veg Manchow Soup was a comforting and flavorful choice. It had a good mix of vegetables, and the broth was well-seasoned with the right amount of spices. The soup had a slightly spicy kick to it, making it perfect for those who enjoy a bit of heat. Ambiance and Service: The ambiance at Sankalp Restaurant was pleasant and family-friendly. The restaurant had comfortable seating and a clean, inviting atmosphere. The service was attentive, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Rating 10/10

Family-Friendly Vegetarian Indian Restaurant $40 CAD for two 4/5 If you're looking for a family-friendly neat and clean Indian vegetarian restaurant with options across North to South Indian cuisine, you need not look any further. Try Sankalp next time. It's the same Indian chain that has expanded to Canada too. I went for a food blogger event but man, I was motivated to come back next time with my own family. The menu is expansive which will ensure everyone in your group can order per their choice. You can get almost every mainstream North-Indian and South-Indian appetizers and mains including cocktails and mocktails. The place is neat and has sufficient room for you to move around. Some of the must-haves from my experience were: - Crispy Corn: Very refreshing - Vada Pao: Such good garlic chutney - Medu Vada: Crisp like Winter Sun - Dosa: Another Crisp delight - Chholle Bhature: Perfect Texture - Dal Makhani: Melts in mouth - Paneer Makhanwala: Softest Paneer I had in Canada so far You can avoid Dahi ke Shole and Hara Bhara Kebab. I personally am not fond of sizzlers so I didn't try that, but as per owner, those are bestsellers. Desserts were decent: Gajar ka Halwa and Ice-cream Brownie to end the meal on high-note. . I went with my family at "Sankalp The Taste of India"# Mississauga# 1521 Trinity Dr Unit 6&7, Mississauga, ON L5T 1P6# The atmosphere is good with nice hindi songs and their seating arrangement is also comfortable. The staff is very good and helpful. Ashish (sorry if spelling is wrong!)who greet us and explain about menu. They make sure that we are enjoying food. Ambience looks casual as Indian restaurant, wall pictures,The Auto Rickshaw,Tea Kettle, remind us about indian culture. Start with Masala bundi and Dahivada, portion size(quantity)less to Price. Place order for Onion Tomato Chilli Uthappam, Panchavarna Uthappam and Onion Masala Dosa, dosa was nice and crispy but all the aroma is unbalanced with masala filling, all other dishes also delicious. Sambhar that actually taste perfect with the all spices, authenticity in taste remind us Ahmedabad's memory while we used to went Sankalp. Dessert also great, we place order for Chocolate brownie with vanilla on a sizzler plate, and Malai kulfi. We enjoy live music sessionKaraoke singer voice very nice We wouldn't hesitate to visit again. Thank you Sankalp for excellent service

I tried this place first time here in Canada and I was a huge fan of Sankalp, Ahmedabad. My experience was worst because of following reason. 1)I booked my table for 8.30PM yesterday and I waited for 25mins and after that they told me « sir it will only take 15 minutes more « . Total wait 45 mins 2)It was very busy on that day so server took almost 10 mins just to bring water jug and menu to the table.another bad service took almost an hour. 3)attendant just forgot to give us glasses to drink water. In short service was pathetic. 4) I sent few picture of kitchen and floor. Which was too sticky and tissues were here and there on the floor. Staff was just busy in order delivery. Nobody was there to clean or maintain that place. 5) never go to this place in rush hour because you are not going to get good taste of food. Inshort 1/10. Owner has to take serious interest in customer service, cleaning and taste of their food. I am not recommended this place to anyone because of hygiene and 0 management.

Good taste overall. Ordered Paper Dosa, Pav bhaji, mumbai vada pav, filter coffee, and gulab jamun with rabri So pretty happy with overall experience today! Mumbai wada pav took me back to mumbai literally! One of the best I have had in GTA. Coffee was soothing! Dint taste exactly like typical south Indian filter coffee but it was still amazing! Paper dosa was nice and crispy! No complains! However found it bit pricey as compared to value and not that fulfilling! Next time probably won't order this one! Pav bhaji was again yummy! Exactly like I wanted the taste to be..mumbai street pav bhaji! Lastly the gulab jamun with rabri..it was perfect for my taste palette as it wasn't too sweet. And hence I could devour it without guilt! I am definitely coming bk! Hoping to try some jain options next time! Hopefully the taste is maintained Service was nice! Warm and pleasant staff!

Sankalp is good place to visit to dine in with friends and family members. The take reservations and also it has many parking spots. Try to reach early on weekends. Food:- we ordered Manchow soup and Indi-chini grilled sizzler in starter. The sizzler was good with mix variety of items like paneer Chilli, manchurian, noodles and fried rice. In Main course, we ordered 4 types of dosa like Bhaji Dosa, ghee roast millitary Dosa, Mysore Masala Dosa and Nilgiri Dosa. In addition, there ghee roast paper plain dosa and Golden crispy dosa was also fabulous. The sambhar is the point of attraction for South Indian Food lovers along with coconut chutney and other 3 complimentary signature chutneys. Beverages: I ordered Salted Lassi and some of my friends ordered Mango Lassi. It was also good with coriander, roasted Cumin and black salt in it.

We visited Sankalp restaurant last Sunday. I really like that the lady who took our order was a good listener and she made sure that whatever we wanted we got it the way we asked for. We asked them to make everything in regular oil and not desi ghee. The thing I wish they could've done better was serving the Sambar Hot. The Sambar was cold when they first served. Also the dosa was not piping hot. We also ordered the Idlis and Vada Combo and the portion size was really small. I wish I would've clicked the picture of that combo. The Mysore Masala Dosa wasn't spicy at all even though I asked to make it spicy. The Kaju Curry and Naan was delicious and spicy. Overall a good experience but not the best. Definitely not the exact same as we have been eating back in India.

“SANKALP CANADA” The feeling cannot be expressed in words when you come to know that your favorite food joint from your country is finally opening in Canada and that too GTA . Back in Ahmedabad, India Sankal was our most favorite food joint for South Indian food especially their dosas & Sambhar are to die for. When it comes to visit your all time favorite restaurant in a foreign country you have lot of anxiety and doubts in your mind as you have so many expectations and I am extremely HAPPY to inform everyone that all the expectations are MET here and all the boxes are checked when it comes to QUALITY & SERVICE. On our first visit the experience was not that good as we visited on a public holiday and we were really disappointed but as you know it’s SANKALP we gave it another try and that was the best thing we did as we had an amazing Ahmedabad like experience and enjoyed every bit of food and service. Thank You Sankalp!

Visited there 3 times in last 2 years. Food was average. No complaints but no the best. The only reason I visited the restaurant because it offers no onion no garlic option. However, the quality and quantity of the food is not the best to justify the high price. The reason I am writing this review is because of the unfair manager. Manager said the couch is only for 8 people and did not allow us to seat there. We had sat on the same table even though we were 6 in the past. The another family of 6 people were just sitting at the next table at the time of my request even though it was same for 8 people. If you make a rule, do not change it from time to time or customer to customer. We do not need any explanation as it was taken very clearly. We will still visit the restaurant in the future as my parents like no onion no garlic dishes there. I hope the owner learned something from this feedback and make it right for other customers.

This is more of a 4.5 than a perfect 5. 4 would have been less. We're from Ahmedabad, so had to try this one. We went for Indi-Chini Sizzler, Rasam, Panchavarna Uttapam, Kanchipuram Achari Rava Dosa, SP Indian Bhaji Dosa and Mysore Chatpata Dosa. Loved everything. I would've tried a different Uttapam or a Dosa as not all flavors in the Panchavarna taste good - especially the corn one. Very good food overall. Of course, doesn't beat the one in Ahmedabad but still very good. The staff was amazing, very professional and handling the crowd really well. If you're going in the evening, especially on weekends, definitely definitely reserve a table by calling them. Parking space should generally be available. We went on a weekend evening and still were able to find a spot easily. Very much recommended.

This was our first visit to Sankalp and must say, loved everything. Ashna and Jasleen, the servers, did their job really well, like checking in on us frequently, suggesting food options as per our taste, etc. When my daughter hurt herself and started crying, Jasleen quickly got some ointment that reduced her pain and cheered her up. Food wise, we ordered Tomato shorba, Indi Chini sizzler, Masala Dosa and sev puri. For beverages, we had tea and coffee. Everything was very tasty, though the sizzler was on the spicier size and a little dry. We mentioned that to the Manager and he was receptive and said that he will pass on the feedback to the chef. 5 star Food, 5 star service and above all 5 star attitude.

Recently visited the hyped restaurant with bunch of friends. Here’s what I ordered and honest feedback. The pav bhaji is flavorful and delicious, while the garlic naans are perfectly baked and complement the meal beautifully. The Paneer Afghani Bhurji is a standout dish, with its creamy and rich flavors. Do try their sweet lime soda reminds you of India. However, I must caution against ordering the Indi Chinese Sizzler. While it was highly recommended, my experience with it was disappointing. The fried rice contained green peas, which seemed out of place, and the noodles lacked vegetables. On a positive note, the paneer chilli and Manchurian were decent, offering some redeeming flavors. Despite the mixed experience, Sankalp Restaurant still impresses with its other offerings. Don't hesitate to try the recommended dishes for a delightful culinary experience.

Yesterday, on the first day of the year 2023, we got a chance to visit this restaurant. It was our very first time visiting Sankalp in Canada. It reminded me lot of good memories as it was one of my favourite South Indian restaurants back in my hometown Ahmedabad. It has the authentic South Indian taste for the dosas, chutneys and sambhar. I had Mysore Chatpata Dosa. We also tried items like Masala Papad, Hara Bhara Kabab, Pav Bhaji, Butter Roasted Vada Pav, Paneer Methi Garlic, Veg Jaipuri (to be honest this curry was just okay!), Bullet Naan (really good if you like the spicy chilly naan), Garlic Naan, Sweet Lime Soda. Food was yummy and delicious except the Veg Jaipuri curry. The service was excellent and quick. P.S. - I will update my review when I try other items from the menu.

I was disappointed. Sorry. My problem was that I like my dosas thin and crispy, theirs wasn't. We ordered: mysore dosa, panchvarnam uttappam and 2 cheese dosas. All of our dosas were thick and soft, which was a let down. The uttappam flavors were also not all that great. My husband liked 2 of 5 flavors. Another issue we had was that all of our foods came at different times. Also it was more expensive that most other dosa places we go to. A friend ordered the 4 ft dosa which was crispy and looked fit for 5 people :D. That was a cool experience. The service, however, was excellent. Our server, Om, was very friendly and helpful, explained everything as their menu is loooong. The atmosphere was nice and festive, not bad.

Food - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Ambience - Good We went on a Sunday evening and restaurant was quite packed and busy. However, we managed to get seats in 10 minutes. We ordered hakka chowmein, pani puri, vada pav, rava masala, and brownie sizzler and everything tasted fresh and really good! The food was served quickly! I would give 5/5 for servers who kept checking in if everything was fine. My personal favourite was hakka chowmein as it tasted just like how it is cooked in India. I am definitely going back again to try few more items which I missed this time.

I was excited to try Sankalp for the very first time and it was all worth it. Let’s start with the best part that the sambar had authentic taste and the same taste as the one in India ♥️. The flavors felt so authentic, I felt like I am not missing my country and can have same experience here. The staff is so welcoming and ready to help. I loved the crockery those silver utensils got my heart!! Here’s what we had- ♦️Indi Chini Sizzler ♦️Mysore Masala Dosa ♦️Military Ghee Roast Dosa After trying food from this restaurant, I am surely ả forever customer. I was excited to try Sankalp in canada and it was all worth it. The sambar had authentic taste and the same taste as the one in india. The best thing i enjoyed was medu vada, yummy, filling and each and every bite melted in my mouth(so soft)!!! I really liked coconut chutny and spicy red chutney. They other two I didn’t quite like the taste. The staff was friendly, and served us well. Quality of food was good and they seem to care about their customers. One thing i liked was they served us fresh and hot sambar every time we asked for a refill and the bowls were small comparatively so that the food doesn’t go in waste. Overall good experience, hope the keep up the good work and the taste doesn’t changes. Excited to try new dishes next time

This is one of the good restaurants in town based on the famous urban franchise of Western India named ‘Sankalp’ which serves tasty South Indian cuisine. Fresh chutneys and delicious sambar are always complimentary with all meals and that makes a wonderful combo for any South Indian dish you order here. What a find! Tempting Indian food available in Jain style! What else can a vegetarian ask for? Icing on the cake is they serve Chinese, South Indian food, street food, North Indian food, all under one roof and without any compromise on taste, and with warm hospitality. The food is great and delicious. One of my favourite restaurants for Vegetarian/Jain meals. I would highly recommend this place. The only thing I would like to add is, there are places that serves lot more variety of food to eat with the same price. During the initial opening season, their prices were reasonable but they have increased significantly over time. If they bring the earlier prices back, I would say this place would be flooded with customers who are definitely looking for yummy food that is pocket friendly too.

Another good restaurant for South Indian Cuisine. Sankalp is a good spot to experience the flavors of South India. Their Dosas are really good, plus they serve with all kinds of chutneys. Also, they do have the gujarati touch on some of those for people who want the fusion cuisine taste. Really great customer service they are always on their toes, ready to help their customers. Their buttermilk that taste is something that I just can't forget. And lastly their burning hot brownie icecream- in a good way. Need to try to know. A definite try.

Sankalp-The taste of India, not only says taste of India for the sake of it but also makes sure that they provide customers with the same taste. I tried their rava dosa and sambar, literally tastes the same as I used to have in India. The chutneys that they serve on side are authentic and flavourful. And how can I miss eating their sizzling brownie, which has walnuts and yummy chocolate syrup. Too good. The only thing I wish they would have soon is the paan they serve in India after dining. But overall had a really great experience.

They serve good South Indian fare but are a little on high pricing side, that is why I am giving it a 3 star. There are some hits and misses in food. Their sambar is good, so that is a plus. Their coconut chutney was okaish, but the spicy red chutney was good. Medu vada was nice but small in size. We tried different dosas, and the best was Miltary Ghee Roast dosa. The masala dosa was good also, but the Three Barrel Dosa is not worth it. They give extra sambar without extra cost, so that is good. Overall, it is a place worth trying for South Indian food. No comments on North Indian food as I have not tried it.

Have been there twice. Food.. Service..Ambiance.. Everything was excellent. It's very rare that all things together worked out really well. Their staff is welcoming and greet you with smile (rare). SHOUTOUT to Ravleen who's attention to detail is excellent. Her awareness to the surrounding is commendable . Must try.. Kaju curry subji Chinese sizzler Cheese corn dosa Their Sambhar is delicious and its exact same as served in Ahmedabad.

Food was really great I will recommend to order Their “specialty” cuisines. We ordered butter cheese paneer and cheese garlic naan The reason for cutting 2/5 stars is their customer service specific by manager who didn’t care about customers. His behaviour was not professional as he asked us to return him the plates we were using on our table. (He came to us asked if he can take out plates before we reply he took two small plates from table and left) Also next to our table there was fake plant covered with dust and spider webs. Close to which they kept open bottle of water.

I recently visited Sankalp on a Saturday evening, and while the food tasted good, the quantity seemed a bit lacking for the price. The restaurant was surprisingly empty, and the atmosphere was marred by some employees sleeping at dining tables, while others were watching Tarak Mehta at a high volume. The staff wasn't very friendly, and it took us almost 5-10 minutes to get the menu, despite the emptiness. Unfortunately, we didn't feel welcomed to order more. Hoping for improved customer service in the future.

We recently dined at an exceptional South Indian restaurant that left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, setting the tone for the impeccable customer service that followed throughout my meal. The authenticity of the food was simply outstanding, capturing the rich flavors and vibrant spices that define South Indian cuisine. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience with exceptional food and top-notch customer service. From MATTI HOMES TEAM

One of the finest restaurants I have visted as they have so many different options for Swaminarayan food. Restaurant is pure vegetarian so there are no chances of mix match. I have ordered Mysore Masala dosa and Bombay veg Frankie. It was delicious. Restaurant needs to think on chutney I felt it wasn’t fresh. Sambhar was delicious. I saw the menu and I am suggesting to add cheese butter masala subzi indian style everyone loves that. If anyone is looking for No onion and No garlic food then please do visit. Thank you Sankalp Canada.

August 2022 5* Visited the place with friend for lunch and really liked the place. The staff is very good and friendly. We visited in the late afternoon so it was not very busy. The ambiance is nice and well decorated. Here is my food list: Vada Pav ***** Masala Dosa ***** Onion Masala Dosa ***** Both food presentation and taste was excellent. I loved the sambhar. You can request for extra sambhar and enjoy the food. The place is fully accessible for people with special needs. The restaurant also sell pre cooked sambhar packet.

Been there twice! Food is amazing! A bit pricey though! We tried hakka noodles yesterday and the noodles were overcooked making them very soggy, so it could be improved and pani puri was too spicy (my spice level is too good though) so, If I am saying it was too spicy, trust me! Apart from these couple of things, food was of great quality and restaurant was neat and tidy! Hats off to their amazing staff! Keep it up guys! Definitely recommend if you a food lover!

(1) Portion size is unexpectedly small (except Dosa). (2) Not so authentic south Indian food, it is more of what we eat on the streets of Ahmedabad and Surat (Taste wise 10/10). (3) Overly enthusiastic staff. (4) Nice ambience

I have been here twice and had enjoyed dinning in each time. It was a great experience. The ambience is very welcoming and charming. Amazing Food and service. Staff always has smile on face, ready to help and so polite. I usually mention what food to try in my reviews but for this place I wanna say just get any dish and you will not be disappointed. The flavors felt so authentic, I felt like I am not missing my country and can have same experience here. Thank you for the beautiful experience will definitely visit again

Was craving some Indian food. I was happy with the hospitality and food at the restaurant. I have visited Sankalp as kid in Ahmedabad and was surprised to find a branch near my workplace. The food taste the same as how it used to back in India. I tried the sev puri and sizzler brownie with icecream and filter coffee.

The taste and quality of food is good but a little bit spicy - [1 star (0.75 star for food, 0.25 star for spice level {add 0.25, if you like spicy food})]. The ambience is good, less lively! - 0.5 stars [I understand, it's just the start] A bit pricey compared to quantity. - 0.5 stars The service by staff members is great, really impressed seeing them working on their toes in order to serve customers better. [2 stars for staff members, keep it up, team!]

The food was okay but the portion size were low and prices were high. We ordered paneed karahi and hot and sour soup, both of which were smaller in portion size comparable to other places. Food itself was not bad but too spicy. Had stomach pain the next day. We do eat spicy food but this was still too spicy.

The dosa at Sankalp boasted a commendable texture, but the undercooked veggies detracted from the overall experience. Despite the appealing dosa, lackluster accomplishment and service left room for improvement in delivering a more satisfying South Indian meal. The overall experience failed to meet expectations.

Food - 4/5 Ambiance - 3/5 Service - 4/5 Price - Mid Range Ordered Dabeli, Paneer Tikka Frankie and Pav Bhaji. The taste was great, but was missing the spice. If you like spicy food, just let them know before hand to make it spicy. The dabeli was small for it's price. The frankie was one of the best I've had. Overall, worth a visit. Hoping to visit them again soon.

The food was good , can be said ok ! Panner chili dry wasn't soft . The service was excellent. We tried spring and chettinand dosa which was ok wouldn't recommend it as it wasn't having fresh stuffing. Coconut chutney wasn't tasting fresh . Also tried aag ke sholay which was ok too ! Chutney was good Would recommend to try Mysore chatpata dosa
