As a child my parents took me here to buy textbooks and today as a parent I do the same for my kids. The more things change the more they stay the same. Savanis hasn't changed much over the years. If nothing else, its always good to find a place that's been as consistent as they have been over the years. The shopping experience will I suppose, due to it's very nature being one that is routine and done at least once annually for most people going there, remain a dull one. That doesn't say much about Savanis, just that shopping for text books is dull and mundane. I don't know what can honestly be done to make it better

Crowded yet there is a possible way to have people buy and have their bills ready in good timing instead of these exaggerated queues that go even beyond the entrance to the outside corridor out on the street( exposing people to pickpockets and time is wasted in line). The numbers posted on their social media platforms go unanswered hence beats me: why post numbers that you know no one will ever pick up? Being one of the bookshops that most of us grew up visiting, it is disappointing not to see positive change that could help both the business and the customers.

Free advise: visit Savani's way before the new school term starts. Otherwise be contented with sharing your personal space with the mass of parents buying stuff on the last weekend before schools open. The place is congested, stuffy with barely room to wiggle without being smelling everyone's breath around you. And you cannot blame Savani's. Still, Savani's can do with better air conditioning and at peak times, maybe crowd control, e.g., have a certain number of customers inside at a go.

  • Victor Wainaina

Wide selection of books, but any last minute shopping means that you'll barely be able to move while squished against hundreds of other parents who probably should have also bought books earlier than a day before school opening. Service from attendants is also lacking since they're thinly stretched and short-tempered from being dogged by frustrated parents. For a better experience I'd recommend the Text Book Centre near Globe roundabout.

Savani's Book Centre Limited a book business that majors on school books and stationery. This is a good place for students, parents and teachers to check their school materials and do shopping for their stationery items. They offer bulk buying for schools and I think they also do delivery but at a fee. I did my shopping there for my small brother where the prices were affordable and the customer service was awesome.

Located at downtown Nairobi next to Odeon Cinema bus stage off Tom mboya Street, Savanis is one of Nairobi's popular budget bookshops that also stock a number of school related items. Here u will find anything from Set squares, T-squares, Test tubes, burnsen burners and the likes to even geometrical sets and graph books. Enjoy savings on bulk purchases.

Stockist of all books, i will describe it as a book supermarket.. If you miss it here, probably you will struggle to find it elsewhere. Their location is pretty squeezed up as its located down town, parking is a struggle too with matatus all over the place. Well, the customer service isnt one of the best, a lot needs to be done to match others.

  • Daima Mkenya

Book store where one can find nearly all textbooks required for Kenyan Primary and Secondary education. I'd advise you to do your school shopping early since it tends to be crowded during rush hour for back to school.
