I don't love all the sculptures in here, but the green green grass and a number of benches make this gated area a calm oasis in Balboa Park. It's a great place to sit and read. And now, Panama 66 has opened next door if you want a drink or bite to eat. And the best thing about the Sculpture Garden? This is where SDMA hosts their summertime Film in the Garden outdoor movie event.

What a lovely day we had visiting Art Alive and then spending a few hours in the Garden of Activities in the Sculpture Garden. Such a great event and fun crafts for kids and grown ups.

One or two of the sculptures were interesting, but I felt like I could have made the rest of them myself, and I'm no artist. It's free and doesn't take long to see,

Balboa Park...a beautiful park in the heart of San Diego. Lots of areas to explore. The Choice of Museums is extensive...all worth a visit!

Very nice garden area to sit and relax. Also has a great beer tasting area with a wide selection of beers right next to it.

Really fun location for families with little kids to picnic or wait for their table at a nearby restaurant.
