Free exhibition about the life and work of Seamus Heaney, housed in the Cultural and Heritage Centre at Bank of Ireland, College Green. Taking Heaney’s manuscripts, drafts, notebooks, diaries and letters as its starting point, the exhibition brings visitors on a journey through the poet's life in writing, offering a glimpse into his creative process and revealing the internal and external forces that shaped his work. In addition to the archive material (much of it unpublished), the exhibition draws together photographs, readings, video footage, original artworks, interactive displays and personal artefacts – including Heaney's own writing desk – to create a multi-sensory, immersive experience.

This exhibit was the highlight of my time in Dublin. I was moved to tears more than once. Several members of my tour group (including myself) were curious about where Maser’s original “Don’t Be Afraid” mural is located, but our guide did not the specific location, only that it was on Richmond Street in Portobello. I took a walk around that area and was able to find it next to the restaurant, Viva, at 27 Richmond Street South, for those who would like to know.

It is so lovely to read his words and hear his voice. The pacing, the photos, the poems and other artefacts all make the experience very peaceful. I found Dublin to be a real bustling city and the exhibit, in addition to being a rich immersion in Heaney, was also an oasis of calm. I was traveling light so didn't buy a book, but I will now that I'm home.

Absolutely brilliant free exhibition. Just the right length, and marvelously put together. Incredibly moving displays and videos. It is clear that the love for Seamus Heaney runs deep here in Ireland. "So walk on air against your better judgment"

This was a wonderful oasis of calm in the city. We hadn't planned on visiting and only did because we were walking past however, I am so glad we did. Beautifully displayed images and artefacts; a stylish, touching and thought-provoking exhibition.

After fighting the crowds at the Book of Kells across the street, this exhibition was a wonderful oasis of calm. Even as a casual fan of Heaney's I found the whole experience to be fascinating and even moving. Highly recommend!

A very interesting place to learn about such an inspiring man and the times in which he lived, wrote and drew inspiration from.

Beautiful archive of Heaney's poems, letters, cards, notes, clippings, photos etc. Book clubs, talks, workshops to boot. Credit marvels and walk on air! This is one of my favourite places in Dublin.
