I have been seeing Alana since 2014. I have seen her for back pain that everyone in my family seems to have. I saw her after I injured myself in a half marathon. I have seen her for arm pain from keyboarding all day. And most recently I have seen her for shoulder pain. Alana is very careful to make sure exercises do not aggravate other issues. Before I initially started seeing her for back pain I saw a massage therapist and chiro for six months. When I started seeing her, I would get back pain when I bent my spine forward and when I bent it back. The exercises I had been doing from the chiro would solve one direction but aggravate the other. Alana was careful to understand my body's limits when helping me to prevent further injury. She is flexible in her treatment plans, adapting the appointments to whatever I need. One appointment for back pain turned into a pep talk. One appointment I ended up at her office desk learning to improve posture. Once I wasn't into the treadmill so we went outside instead. These things are not what you expect to need from a physical therapist, but it really makes all the difference. No other doctor I have seen is as patient as her. I really appreciate that she will take the time to explain all of the things we are doing so that I understand my issues and can prevent them in the future. I trust her 100% and will always prefer to see her for my issues.

As a professional dancer and someone who also has been on their feet in the restaurant industry for 20 years, Alana at Seattle Ortho Arts has been a dream to see on a weekly basis. Her angle is accountability, which makes me feel like healing is largely in my hands - setting goals and tracking our progress feels proactive and fun. I love the collaborative problem-solving aspect of our visits and learning new strengthening exercises has been super enlightening and empowering - all of which is well integrated within a clear and accessible online program. I have an injured tendon around my ankle joint with pain that has steadily decreased over time, so the soft-tissue massage (have mercy) feels incredible and healing! She’s masterful with her knowledge and also at creating healthy pathways for dance and also for moving sustainably through daily life. Amazing knowledge and approach - so thankful for Alana’s thoughtful care! Please go!

It’s difficult to put into words, not just what an incredible physical therapist Alana is- but what an amazing human she is. I have been a patient of hers multiple times for chronic pain due to discs in my lower back. She was the first provider that related to me not just from a provider prospective, but person to person. Her undivided attention to detail on pain level, exercise tolerance, and finding ways to understand and work in exercise to your work life goes above and beyond expectations many patients would receive elsewhere. She has guided me and helped me through two of the most painful experiences of my life, while engraining knowledge that will last a lifetime. If you’re looking for someone that you know you can trust and will work with you, Alana is your new physical therapist. I promise you will not be sorry.

Alana's expertise as a Physical Therapist has given me so much! As a professional dancer, I am often subject to injury and stress from overuse. Dancers require a certain kind of care to encourage both the full range of motion and the strength needed to feel confident in pushing their body to extremes. Alana's own background in dance reassures me that her care is specific, thorough, and genuinely supported by her own experience. It is rare to find someone that can identify such nuanced things that could only exist in a dancer's body. I always say that she works her magic on me, and I walk away feeling like new. Forever thankful for this magician!

Alana is a superstar of a Physical Therapist! The attention to detail and care she provides is outstanding, taking the time to tune in to your specific needs. I have seen Alana on and off for the last year plus, and always leave with more confidence in the recovery of my injuries. Alana comes from a Dance background as a performer, choreographer, and educator, and has a deep understanding of many movement modalities, which is fueled in her practice. I highly recommend Alana for any sort of injury rehabilitation or prevention you are seeking. One of the best, if not the best, PT in the greater Seattle area!

I’ve seen many a physics therapist, and have just now walked away with the most comprehensive care I’ve ever received. Alana has pin-pointed my injury with such detail, to not only heal, but also improve my over all body mechanics, to make sure this doesn’t happen again. My ankle strength has returned (as in I can now relevé without pain) and now I’ve learned how to correct some habits in my dance technique to keep me dancing and teaching longer. I am so grateful! Thinking now I need a PT tune up twice a year.

Alana is a savior. My daughter is a competitive Irish dancer. She has loose ligaments which means she has weak ankles...not great for a dancer. Years ago, we went to Alana to get ideas on how to help. She gave specific exercises that drastically helped. We've gone back for more specific injuries. Once again, Alana worked miracles in getting her back to health quickly. I highly recommend her for any PT needs but especially if you have a dancer.

I have been seeing Alana for years for dance and desk-related injuries. She has been so supportive and knowledgeable in tackling chronic and acute pain in basically every joint in my body, from my jaw to my ankles. She has saved me many times over so that I can stay active and continue functioning in every part of my life- from high-impact performance to taking out the trash. I would be an absolute mess without her help.

As a dancer, actor, Pilates professional and mom of young children I often find myself out of alignment and in patterns of movement which cause pain. Alana at Seattle Ortho Arts has a great attention to detail and a wealth of knowledge which she offers liberally helping bring me out of pain and into better movement patterns. I highly recommend Alana.

I was referred to Alana after I wasn’t having much success with another office. Immediately I felt like I was in much better hands. Alana is very knowledgeable and great at explaining everything about exercises and etc. I wish I had found this place a long time ago.

Alana has helped me recover from two shoulder surgeries and a bout of back pain. She takes a very workable and personalized approach to the therapy plans. I would recommend Alana to anyone recovering from surgery or who needs a plan to help with other issues.
