I visited this hospital today, first time for treatment of my ankle injury and believe me, it was very pathetic experience of inhuman behaviour. After check-up, Dr Anup Kerketta gave me the prescription slip and told me to take the medicines and ankle belt from medical store at ground floor. I went to medical store and told them to give the medicines, the lady sitting on the counter forced me to take medicine for 30 days even though Dr prescribed for 21 days only. When I asked for the reason, she told me that she is not allowed to cut the strip so taking 30 days medicines is only option. This doesn't end here, she gave me the wrong ankle belt and after my objection only, she changed it and gave me the correct one. I went to the doctor to learn how to wear the belt. He checked and told me that the size of the belt is not correct and I have to get it changed. I again went to medical store at ground floor and told the lady sitting there to give me the correct size. In turn, she gave me a different type of belt saying that it is the same. I again went to first floor to show the belt to the doctor, meanwhile Dr Anup has left and his resident doctor was present. He told that this belt is not correct and told me to get it changed. I requested to the resident doctor to talk to medical store to avoid any miscommunication as I was finding it very difficult to roam in between doctor and medical store. He told that I have to only contact medical store and if the correct belt not available, I can purchase it from outside pharmacy. I would have gone to some private clinic also but I visited this hospital thinking that I will get complete treatment under one roof which was a mistake. I was a patient of ankle injury and was not able to even walk due to pain, still I was made to go between first floor and ground floor three times. Ultimately I went to the medical store and collected my file and left the hospital with huge disappointment.

I am a physician in Dallas, TX, USA. I decided to get myself operated at Shalby SG by Dr. Vikram Shah, as his surgical skills and experience are unmatchable, particularly "zero technique" with which he operates. It causes less blood loss, less pain and quicker recovery. I underwent total knee replacement on 7th December, 2022, the day I landed at Ahmedabad airport! The blood tests, x rays, EKG, ECHO, lung function test, cardiology consultation - everything happened within less than one hour! This is unimaginable in USA. Within hours of surgery, I walked unassisted. The next day, I climbed the stairs! I never required any assistive devices to help me walk nor any strong pain killers. All the ancillary services here are top class. Dr Shema Saxena and Dr Sanjay Patel were friendly and efficient medical officers. The physical therapists, Dr. Ankitbhai and Dr. Tyagi patiently and painstakingly worked with me to regain the range of motion. They were quite encouraging at the slightest improvement. Arpitaben, 7th floor nurse in-charge herself visited everyday and made sure, everything was in order. She updated me about plan of the day. Her team of nurses were very professional and polite. Chetanaben, the dietitian affectionately fed me food of my choice. Housekeeping services kept the room clean. During my stay of 5 days, I even got my eyes checked and got new pair of glasses! I got a cap for one of my tooth fixed. In USA, these would have taken weeks of waiting and would have been 10 times more expensive. I would strongly recommend Shalby SG to my family and friends, without any reservation. They are rest assured world class treatment in an affectionate and homely environment. Later I moved to Krishna Shalby for physical therapy and rehabilitation (see my separate review).

My mom 70 yrs old had total knee replacement in Shalby hospital, Sarkhej by Dr Vikram Shah. Operation was successful and my mom was walking quiet good after 20 days. BUT if any one has any other disease because most patients getting knee replacement is senior citizens the doctor and hospital doesn't pay attention to all and I am writing this because I am suffering from this. From 1st day of consultation till follow up visit of knee replacement we have repetitively informed Doctor Vikram Shah and his team that my mom has diverticulitis and strong medicine does not suits her l.Doctors didn't bother to pay attention and as a result she is having now ulcers not one but six and diverticulitis aggravated like anything and she started passing blood stool and biopsy report clearly stated this was because of medicines that is pain killer given during knee replacements. Dr Vikram Shah and his team should have taken this into account before proceeding for surgery or he should have not done this surgery of there was no other alternative painkiller after knee surgery. For this blunder my mom is suffering after 15days of knee replacement surgery. I would suggest if anyone is proceeding for knee replacement surgery and your patient have any other disease then consult that disease related doctor because no one will take care for this just like it happened to my mom because of Dr. Vikram Shah and his team . He is good for knee replacement but is not bothered of patient is having any other health related issue, so it becomes patient family duty to consult disease related doctor before proceeding with surgery. Now we are repenting why we conducted my mom's total knee replacement under his team.

it is a chain of hospital they have 4 branches in Ahmedabad and this One is best, it is not recommended for everyone because their visiting fees are a bit higher then Norma hospitals, they have one good thing all the doctors are available at all the branches at their given Days of week the ambience is very good here everything is very neat and clean and very well maintained, they have every kind of doctors available for any problem you have they have security at every floor and the reception counter is also very good and they assist you best they can it is specially known for knee replacement surgery's and we are fully satisfied with their service they give, their ICU ward is very strict and they have some procedures and safety measures plus time to visit someone is 10PM.

We came to Shalby Hospital due to the recommendation of Dr. Vikram Shah and he and his hospital team of doctors, nurses, dietitians, psychologists, PT, and admin have exceeded our expectations. My mother is 82 years old and had a TKR done with Dr. Shah's Zero Technique. Just 24 hours post surgery she was able to comfortably walk and even climb a flight of stairs. Overall, good treatment. Extremely poor admission process – delayed admission and room allotment by 4 hours, despite coming at suggested time. Mediclaim process was also very slow – took 4 days to send all the documents to the insurance TPA. Good treatment by Vikram Shah and team (special mention to the team including all the support staff). Maybe he could look to give a little more time while he comes to patient visits in the room. I understand his motto is efficiency, but sometimes the patients and the relatives like to receive the desired level of attention. But overall, good experience. Recommend getting knee surgery done here.

Very Good Hospital, Staffs,Doctors & Support system. They have laid down SOPs for everything like daily routine Junior Surgeon Visits ,Dr Vikram Shah's daily visit. To add to this SOP & support Dr Vikram Shah's wife ,herself a Dentist also visits all patients who get Knee Replacement done for moral support. 24 hours staff availability on call, good food, routine physiotherapist visits add to the satisfaction & treatment experience. Just got knee replacement done of family member, though she is in extreme pain (supposedly normal after knee replacement surgery), hopeful the recovery is fast and treatment effective.

Nursing staff training very poor,although they tried their best.Poor management and saving money by employing untrained staff was evident during my wife’s eight day treatment at the hospital.The length of stay came as a shock because she did not have a serious health problem(ordinary asthma attack).Also doctors who had nothing to do with the health condition showed their faces simply to add to the cost.In my experience, in a country that I am a national of(UK) patients with such condition are normally discharged within two to three daysIn short one of the most awful and unforgettable experience.

My father received excellent care from Dr. Minesh Mehta during his admission for aspiration pneumonia. Cafeteria is pathetic, no hygiene, At 9 am they said no break fast for attendant/ relative of patient , but sweet gulab jamun available for their staff only, I think cafetières is not for external gust, After so much argue I got pauha and khanan and tea, How could they say that break fast not available at 9 am? And simultaneously they are serving to their staff, No courtesy , no proper amenities and service , lack of service vice coordination , Hospital just running on name of Dr Vikram Shah , because of his expertise and mastery in knee replacement we came,

My father was taken to Shalby SG Highway Ahmedabad due to cloating in left brain. He was not identify anybody that time . He was treated by Dr Hetal Parikh and after one week of treatment under her my father is recovered well n able to speak n identify all the things. No complaints abt surgeons. But post operation team, marketing team, food in Krishna Shalby is worst. Hospital takes money in advance but will not refund your money for services not rendered. I had to made inumerarable phone calls, msgs n mails to get my refund and when got that too just a part of it. Be careful if you pay in advance. Physio at Krishna Shalby is worst I ever had. If you have choice,pl go to some other hospitals but don't trust Shalby for money.

Am editing my review. I rated 5 star based on the hospital infrastructure and experience of admission. But the TKR operation is not successful for my father. He was operated in Feb, 23 and the swelling is like hell and walking is almost a painful experience after 8 months of surgery. His leg was bit better, but now 300 mtr is painful. His first TKR of right knee happened in 2018 and it was good. But this time for the left knee didn't go well.

If you are a patient of a corporate client than they try to accommodate you in a package lower than agreed upon contract between your company and the hospital management. You need to know that they don’t disclose occupancy list hence you have to believe what they convey to you. I would like to advise you to enquire before compromising your right. Above given opinion is based on my recent experience at the Shalby, Sarkhej Ahmedabad, hospital.

Horrible experience trying to get appointment with knee surgery department. 4 times the receptionist transferred to the knee surgery department person and the person will hang the phone after just saying hello. I felt as if the person deliberately did not want to attend the call. Too bad for an otherwise highly reputed hospital. My personal experience was horrible so will need to go with another hospital.

We went for our annual health check up and everything was systematically done. The hospitality of staffs specially Mr Krunal Chavda is worth appreciating. He has guided us throughout the procedure. We got our multiple tests done, reports were collected and doctor consultation was also done in only one hassle free visit. The quality and variety of food in the canteen of the hospital has also improved alot.

Shalby hospital in Sarkhej highway in Ahmedabad is one of the biggest and well known hospital in India and patients across India comes to visit this hospital for their knee replacement surgery. However, it is a shame that a 9 storey building only has 1 working lift. That too for patient. I hope the management does something as both the visitor and service lifts are not working for most of the time.

Under trained staff, poor hygiene, doctors just talk for 2 minutes in a day, they don't even tell what the diagnosis is. The hospital doesn't have basic hygienic ammenities-tissues, napkins, newspaper, water bottle. The staff is very slow and nurses are not well equipped to handle the patient. The washrooms are not even clean. They smell a lot and has water leaking. A poor experience all in all.
