The manicurist was lovely and she did a nice job on my nails. She was pleasant and professional. But owner who sat at cashier, was quite abrupt in greeting. When it was time for payment she charged me and extra 3% because I was lying with credit card. That’s literally illegal. When I told her that’s not legal she ignored me and punched the amount anyway. I repeated that it’s not legal to add a credit card charge to the customer’s bill. She again ignored (thus forcing me to write this review). I added the tip to my bill and when I informed the nice nail specialist that her tip is on my card, she thanked me very much but said the owner takes 1% of the tips too! Wowwww!! It makes you sleep at night to deduct from your staff?? Unbelievable greed by the owner. I don’t recommend giving her the business. For some reason I can’t reply to the owner’s reply so I edit here: thanks for your reply however I am also a business owner and we never charge our customers or our staff additional fees - your explanation doesn’t work. Whether Visa or MasterCard charge a merchant or merchants have won a case against being charged, it is your personal choice to charge the client the extra. It makes no sense that you turn around and charge your customers the extra YOU as a business owner have to pay. These are your costs of running a business. As for the tips, again it makes no sense that you’re charging the customer an extra 3% on total bill and the tip is already included in the total bill. But you still charge your staff the additional 1%. Basically you’re getting yourself paid from all corners. This is not an argument with you, it’s to make other aware. You should change your ways. There is a cost in running a business. It’s not the customer or the staff who should compensate for it. Your prices should already consider those costs.

Over a decade as a customer. Overall very competent technicians and knowledge and clean environment. Customers are accommodated as best possible. Recent change in pricing strategy which attachs a referal fee if a customer requests a specific technician is not aligned to best practices in customer experience and customer retention strategy. Very disappointed. Appreciate the strategy over time to increase prices, but in a way that makes good busines sense, is understandably defensible, and is appropriately communicated to customers, especially long standing customers. A real missed opportunity. The owner should be visible versus absent and take an interest in customer loyalty and continue to deliver on the brand promise. The competition is fierce. Complacency and arrogance do not make for a sustainable and viable business.

The manager was very knowledgeable. Recommending the right shade of natural looking pink shellac polish for my dark olive & tanned complexion. She also recommended against gel overlay as my natural nails are thick and healthy with the concern that it thins out the actual nail. This touched me as it showed that she had no desire to push an expensive service on me but wanted what was least invasive and good for me. The nail technician Holly was very gentle, detail oriented and attentive. She really took care of my feet and was not impatient when the gel coating on one of the toes was ruined due to being scratched before it could set and just reapplied. I'm really happy with the service and grateful to you ladies for giving me a really good first experience with Bio-Gel overlay with Shellac polish pedicure!

Really nice people but the manicure itself left me disappointed. I got a gel overlay manicure that already has a nail that cracked, even though it has only been a couple of days. The technique they used was a bit odd in my opinion. They put a thin layer of gel, the shellac, and then another thin layer of gel. I have gotten hundreds of gel overlay manis and never has a nail cracked like this - there’s literally two lines going down the middle of my nail. I believe the gel wasn’t enough, or perhaps the technique just doesn’t work well. In any event, it just didn’t work out. The manicure itself also had a few imperfections that left me unimpressed. I can’t speak for any other services they provide, but i wouldn’t recommend the gel overlay unfortunately.

I’ve been going to Sheacoco for at least 4 years now. I’ve had various nail technicians do my nails there over the years and they are all consistently good and kind and will accommodate you on a moments notice. I have brought friends many times and they all had good experiences. Their prices are also very reasonable considering their location. They have been following covid safety and sanitation protocols since they reopened and I feel very safe. I do feel for them with the recent downturn in business and have been encouraging friends to go. My most recent shellac mani below. They did their best to create a look I had shown them a picture of and made sure it was perfect. Highly recommend getting your nails done here!

I had an appointment at 1:15pm. When I showed up at 1:19pm. I was told I would have to wait for 20 minutes because “I didn’t show up.” 1 _ I think 4 minutes is a reasonable amount to be early/late and hold someone’s appointment, 2 - even though they asked me for my phone number, no one ever called to ask me if I was on my way. Up until this point, I had been coming here every week, once a week, for the past year. Even when they asked for payment before completing a manicure, which is not right, I still was a loyal patron. Today you have lost my business. It’s good that there are plenty of nail salons in beautiful Yorkville!

I saw good reviews and decided to try this place. Experience wan't the best at all. I picked "Regular Pedicure" - so well massage lasted for 10 sec for each feet, scrub - same thing. She was in a rush the whole time, so didn't even do a good job with my heels. 1 layer on nail polish, no finish clear coat. Wow, their administrator (a Chinese woman, DNK her name) even rushed me to pay while I was still sitting in the chair and waiting for the nail polish to get dry. Why? They had enough empty chairs for other customers! Not going back. For this price there is a plenty of other options.

Money grab: Dressed for a night out and stopped to get nails done. Technician spilled quick dry solution on my silk pants. Offered to pay $12.90 for dry cleaning. Had to drive all the way home to change. As a result had to cancel hair appointment. My trusted dry cleaners said can’t remove stain from silk. Shannon from Shea Coco expected me to run around town looking for an alternate dry cleaner. I said a nail credit would be fair. They said “no”. DO NOT GO THERE!!!! Unless you want to overpay and have your clothing damaged.

Would not recommend. Initially wanted a removal and gel nail polish manicure but changed my mind to just removal before she could do the manicure part. Charged me $51 just for removal - yeah, no thanks - will not becoming back. As soon as I asked why the removal was so much because it was initially around $30, rolled her eyes at me and got upset. Whilst I was there, they were making fun of people outside for not coming in and "spending money" - what that attitude, nobody would want too.

I have been going here for the past 4 years and I could not imagine going anywhere else. I do shellac pedicures and bio gel manicures. I love the fact that I can get them done at the same time. . Always happy with their service and cleanliness. Very accommodating and so convenient. I recommend them all the time and sometimes sorry that I have as now all of my friends go there and it’s harder for to get appointments! Lol

Absolutely in love with my nails and pedi. Staff is calm, caring, and treat you with utmost respect. They speak calmly and make the experience relaxing. Fay is Incredible at her job !!! The prices are great, the tools are extremely clean, and they put extreme care and effort into making your nails look beautiful and hydrated. My nails were cracked and my heels, not anymore !! A great service. My new go to.

I got my gel manicure done and 8 days later the product completely went off my nails. (Been doing it for 10 years, always lasts 3 weeks). When I came back and kindly asked to fix it, they were trying to prove that it’s supposed to last 7 days and it’s not their fault and tried to charge me extra 30$ in addition to 55$ that I paid originally. Highly do NOT recommend ever coming here!

Many years (10+) of amazing experiences here - beautiful space, lovely, skilled and professional staff - I always leave happy and amazed by how perfect my nails look! Covid-times or not, highest attention to hygiene and cleanliness! Truly cannot recommend enough for any and all nail related services!

I love SheaCoco!! Everyone who works here is incredibly friendly and welcoming! Not only have they accommodated day-of bookings, they are extremely considerate of timing when I'm in a rush (yet my nails and experience have never looked or felt rushed!). My new fav :)

I got a manicure 1.5 weeks ago and this place is nice and the staff is friendly but the shellac started lifting on both hands and multiple nails after 5 days. Now all have lifted and I had to peel off. I don’t know if it was a bad manicure or low quality product

I had a shellac manicure here today. I really love the Halloween design they gave me. The staff was kind and nice. She did a fine job on my nails. I chose color 168 which is a semi- transparent color. It makes my nails natural looking.

This is my favourite spot for a pedicure in Yorkville. The prices are extremely reasonable and they have a great selection of colours. The ladies working at this salon are very sweet and it’s bright and clean. Love SheaCoco!

Got the nails I asked for, however, I got cuts on 5 of my fingers - a lot of bleeding and my fingers still hurt quite a lot. There are much better options out there that can do your nails without making them bleed so much!

I like the way they do shellac nails a lot. They always make my shellac mani look very thin and natural. And all the techs I've had so far are all clean/ gentle/ careful during service. Very happy everytime.

I am new to the area and have tried a few different places. This place has been the most consistent in service results and cleaness. They also have a great selection of premium brand nail polish too.

Clean place - courteous staff and the way they run the place simply raises the bar for other businesses to follow suit. Even during the pandemic, I felt safe going there. Five stars no doubt.

Subpar service. Appointment was for a regular pedi, came in at 12.15, she was done by 12.35. Everything was rushed, she didn’t even clean my nails properly. A waste of $44!

They have really good price and it’s a clean and neat salon. Nail art is definitely not their forte. I asked for an accent flower nail and they were unable to complete
