Do not book to have your wedding at this temple. Less than 3 months before my wedding last year I found out that they had booked another wedding on the same day. My parents booked a date for my wedding with the priests in 2021 and paid a deposit. They then visited the temple multiple times and spoke to various priests regarding the wedding and there was no mention of the double-booking. The temple staff then told us my wedding had been overlooked because it had been booked in the 2021 physical diary and not transferred to the 2022 diary, indicating that the double booking was simply due to a dismal lack of organisation rather than an intentional choice. However, they also mentioned to my parents that the other couple were doctors, and the groom was white, suggesting it was actually very much intentional. I do not understand why these facts were relevant, but you can draw your own conclusions as to what they are implying by bringing them up. They also lied about contacting my father earlier in the year regarding the mistake - there was no evidence of the call, and they ignored me when I asked them to provide the number they had contacted him on. After deciding to move my wedding to another venue and dealing with all the stress this entailed so close to my wedding date, I requested my deposit back from the temple and only received £450 of my £500 deposit. When I queried this via email multiple times I was ignored. I was then informed by my parents that the temple had called them to inform them that the £50 was an administration fee. Not only was this outrageous because all they did was book my wedding in the wrong calendar, but because they had clearly ignored communication with me and targeted my elderly God-fearing parents in a sly attempt to hold on to this £50. Throughout the whole incident it felt to me that profit was the priority for the management at Shree Gnanapathy Temple and not fulfilling worshippers’ dreams of getting married where they grew up worshipping.

The priest are nice, pooja perform is beautiful. This is why I have given Shree Ghanapaty Temple 4 stars. But last year I came across a rude staff member of the temple.( Lady in saree). It was during the light festival for 5 Saturdays I think. I went for my 1st Saturday then the 2nd week I got my period. Me,being honest I told the lady in saree who was selling the lamp that I got my period and if am I allow light the lamp today, she said " noooo, you shouldn't even be in the temple, stand outside". I felt so rejected all of a sudden, inside the house of God, who created me. I understand temple is a holly place thats why i asked if its allow. Okay, so I didnt leave the temple straight away I understand I can't light a lamp but cant i just sut down and pray for a little while then leave the temple. As soon as I sat on the floor i heard the lady calling me like " excuse me, excuse, go out you can't sit down here" everybody was looking at me like I commited a crime. I felt soooo bad.I wish I could speak to a priest about it but I was too scare the priest might refuse to talk to me or might ask me to go out too. Just to make things easy I went outside and prayed from there. But it will nice to allow people to pray. If I shouldnt go to the temple while am on my period can someone please educate me why u shouldn't.

I recently had the privilege of visiting Shree Ghanapathy Temple, and it was an incredible experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a sense of peace and tranquility. The temple's architecture is stunning, adorned with intricate carvings and vibrant colors. It truly reflects the rich cultural heritage of the community. The serene ambiance immediately put me at ease and allowed me to immerse myself in the spiritual atmosphere. The priests were welcoming and knowledgeable, guiding visitors through the rituals and traditions with warmth and patience. Participating in the puja ceremony was a memorable and meaningful experience. Moreover, the temple's surroundings were well-maintained, offering a beautiful garden area to sit and contemplate. It was a perfect spot to find some solitude and connect with my inner self. Overall, Shree Ghanapathy Temple is a place of spiritual solace and cultural significance. Whether you are a devotee or just seeking a peaceful retreat, this temple is definitely worth a visit.

The main deity of this temple is Lord Ganesha and we visited this temple during their annual Brahma Utsava period. We visited the temple around 6:30 PM and that's the time where Main Priest performs the Maha Mangalarathi and it's the best time to visit the temple. When we visited they performed Abhishekam, Paalaki Utsavam and Arathi to the main deity. It was a detailed Arathi and it took around 2 hours, It was a real treat to the eyes. They also served prasadam after the Arathi and it was also too delicious. If you are an Indian and if you are missing Indian rituals and temples then if you visit this temple then you feel like Home. We drove by car to the temple and there is no big parking option so you need to squeeze somewhere on the road.

This temple is a brilliant place of worship for HIndus or other religious people since it has recently been renovated which a very modern look in the inside. The main temple has many deities which are all beautifully decorated with even up to even 300 people visiting at a time. Many ceremonies such as weddings take place and even lessons about Hindu teachings and music lessons take place frequently. There are many sub room where the worship of idols and other Hindu deities take place as well as a small upstairs which more space to worship in a peaceful environment. Food is served here free of cost and taste very nice and overall this is an outsatnind temple.

  • ujani sen

It is a beautiful temple, well maintained and organised. However, candles, flowers, fruits or incense sticks were not allowed in the Sai mandir. While I understand and respect the health and safety requirements, not allowing the basic offerings to Saibaba and instructing visitors not to do so after the offerings were made felt impolite and disrespectful. A visible signage near the platform where the idols are kept or allowing offerings under supervision would have helped those who visited the Sai mandir. On a positive note, the main temple felt divine. The priests were helpful and the atmosphere was welcoming.

I couldn't visit Ghanapathy temple temple for a while due to the pandemic. But I was able to watch the life streaming of the Poojas. Thank you very much for all the people who made this to happen at this difficult time. Special thanks for the personal archanai performed on the on the day of Homum and the vedio clip you have sent to me. Special thanks to the Aiya who performed. For all our family, it was a privilege and heartwarming to watch the archanai from our home. Again a big heartwarming thanks to everyone who made this to happen. God bless you all.

This is one of the best temples in London. It’s beautiful, enchanting and serene. I feel very peaceful and come here every week to cast away all my troubles. I always leave the temple feeling better than when I entered it. There is positive energy in the temple and priests are polite and friendly. There are weddings at this temple as well, which is simply awesome! This temple is a hub for various cultural activities for children and it’s nice to see that they are encouraging the Indian culture and values. I will continue to visit it.

I was in for a treat when I visited the Beautiful Temple of Sri Ganapathy in Wimbledon. Because of Covid obviously the Temple was not as packed as usual, which meant I had more Space to imbue the Beautiful energy of the Deities. Even though the Temple has daily live streaming, nothing compares to honouring Sri Sri Ganapathy and all the other deities in Person the Aya kindly blessed all my items ❤ plus I was blessed with the gift of Prasad.

If you need peace of mind, the temple is one place where one can spend hours meditating. The priests are very helpful and very kind. Very neat and clean. If one wants to donate, then you can put the donation into the box, or you can even donate electronically as well. I go every Saturday and also donate fruits, milk, rice, lintel, sugar etc. No one compels you to donate. It's one's own faith and wish to donate.

  • WoodlandWitch

Recently attended the Gayatri Horam at Ganapathy temple. Absolutely divine. As I am psychically aware I could feel certain energies clearing from my head during this most auspicious event. The chanting of Gayatri mantra along with priests (Ayars) was most beneficial. Highly recommend to all. You don't have to be Hindu to attend. All can benefit from this temple. Do not eat meat before going to temple.

  • Rakhesh Rao

One of the oldest consecrated hindu temple's in London, it is well worth a visit for a ganesha temple, but also for the sai baba here. It also gives you a bit of a understanding of how the community enriches the area. Well worth a visit. Tip. There is no direct office, just tell the priest you want to do a archana and give a donation at the machine to cover the cost to help the temple.

  • P R

Visited here with family for the first time and we all enjoyed our trip. A very beautiful temple. A very calm, meditative tranquility inside. Ideal for prayer and meditation. Such a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere inside. You’re not rushed to move on like in other temples. The architecture and murtis are very ornate and very visually appealing. They are mind blowingly beautiful.

  • Shiva Shankaran

Very good temple but "Arrogant" priests The temple is extremely well built and gives a divine experience. But the priests however, though are very good in performing pooja don't respect the devotees. They would show aarathi only if you are known to them. This is very bad thing. But just have to ignore them and have the dharshan of Lord Vigneshwara.

  • Meena Joshi

First time visited this temple. Priest was helpful and social distancing observed by every one. Only thing would say during current circumstances of Coronavirus they need to give more details of the opening times on the website so no one has a wasted journey and then getting there find out about the opening hours.

  • Ihshan Bazeer

Just wish they didn't take all the bays and park dangerously. The event happen after 6.30 yet residents can't park at all. Several times my car has been hit and looking for a lady who Reserved in to my parked car. The Temple need to enforce strict parking rules as if I get ticket it is because I don't have space.

  • Ash Purushotham

A peaceful, South Indian style temple with a nice, inviting aura. The entrance is from the side. The temple also has a section dedicated to Sai Baba. The priests are polite and friendly. Not sure of the timings, but they did pooja for us at 8pm. The pooja lasts for around 20 minutes. Overall a nice temple.

  • Josh Selva

First time visit to temple in the UK. We were visiting from Ireland. Great environment, friendly staff, organised and calming environment. Clean, and good ambiance. Called for directions and the staff member in charge explained the location well to us. Overall good experience. Priest was friendly too.

  • Iswarya Damodharan

Started the new year with a prayer to Ganapati. Well organized and the archana basket was well set. We went during pooja time and given it's new year day, was crowded. On road parking too was full hence we parked in a parallel street and visited temple. Well kept and maintained temple.

  • Das B

Visited the temple for GaneshUtsav. They were getting ready for the pooja for the next day's festivities. South Indian styled temple. They have very good statues of gods and goddesses. Very restricted parking spaces. On road paid parking available. Great South Indian ambience.

  • Anupama J

Visited the temple a couple of days ago. It's a beautiful and peaceful place. Social distancing measures are followed very well here. The purohit at the temple is such a warm hearted person. Overall we had a great experience and plan to visit often going forward.

  • Kaushik

Very impressed both inside and outside. I have lived in the area for years and never knew we had a Hanuman temple near us. It is hidden on the ie road and residential area. There's not enough parking spaces. Give a thumbs up if you find this information useful.

  • Raj Selvakumar

A really spiritual abode - an Hindu temple that also has a separate hall and altar for Sri Sathya Sai Baba devotees. Dedicated priests and regular devotional singing in the Sai Baba Mandir on Thursdays and Sundays. Great place for all community gathering

  • Kothanda Raman

A quiet Hindu temple near Wimbledon with Ganapathy as the main idol. Very pleasant temple for worship with an added advantage of Temple being open throughout the day. Except during lockdown period, temple remain open during the lunch time as well.

  • Anantha Ramakrishnan

I love the temple. Living near Wimbledon have quite a few good temples around me. This one is my favorite. The sastri here is quite accommodating and the temple is a well organised ones. There is quite a few parking space for the devotees as well.

  • Keshav Gadia

This Ganesh temple is amazing. Every visit is a spiritually uplifting and satisfying experience. The facilities at the temple are very good and Lord Ganesh has bestowed very kind and generous blessings on me and my family. Om Gan Ganpataye Namah!!

  • A Google User

It's a nice temple but a bit disappointed with the service that seems a bit hasty on occasions. For example, after an entire day of fasting a bit disheartening to receive a basic sandlewood scented yellow thread without any knots... as the nool.

  • GIRIDARAN AMBIKAIPAHAN

Very nice priests with a calm spiritual environment but the management is very bad. Especially the elderly man with a black body warmer is very rude and have no manners; as he shows an attitude as well as does not know how to talk with devotees.

  • ashok pai

One of the best places for Hindu worship. Has a calming influence. A Ganapathi Temple with other deities. Priests are from Tamilnadu, Andhra, Karnataka can perform all seva's/ poojas.. perhaps some Tamil Sri Lankans in managing the affairs?

  • Pradeep B.K.

Its purely a tamil temple. So if you are from any other part of India and want to visit this, you might not get a better treatment. But if you want to pray and try to get the peace, you can always visit the temple.

  • Deepak Krishnan

Ganesha is superb! Excellently maintained temple with lot of programmes and engagement with local community... Glad to hear that there is a Tamil language school at Merton conducting language classes every Sunday.

  • C hi

I'm so grateful to this temple, as it always enhances my spiritual wealth. One of my favourite places in London to re-energise my soul and calm my mind. Priests are always helpful and it is a stunning temple.

  • Rohan Reyes

Its ok Not the best place to worship due to the rude employees especially the woman with short hair. Extremely rude. My younger brother is autistic and tends to be a bit hyper and she is very harsh with him.

  • sree vani

Amazing, Simple, Divine, Calming and Peaceful place. Especially finding Lord Bappa in such a big city of London made me feel someone really close to the heart is around although I am staying far from family.

  • Prathik kumar mp

The interior of the temple was nice. Felt the temple was closed from the outside as the main door was shut, had to enter from the side door. Might be difficult for a new person if they don't know this

  • Gayathri Ramakrishnan

Love this temple.. pleasant place for a peaceful darshan! Would recommend them opt for a buggy park and parking.. as people randomly park their cars that we had struggled to get out of the temple!

  • siva kumar sathyavageeswara

Very nice spiritual ambience. Nice poojas and abhishekas to deities. But no proper personnel to guide us to what kind of poojas available and no office kind of thing, hence unsure whom to contact
