Apart from all the good things, we had a very bad embarrassing experience. We performed pooja well to our satisfaction, but during dinner we faced embarrassing situation. We were around 22 people for dinner apart from 4 infants. That too two were under 6 months. Naturally infants had some problems & we started dinner. Our custom is to tell everyone during dinner “ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿಧಾನವಾಗಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಿ , ಸಾವಕಾಶವಾಗಿ ಊಟ ಮಾಡಿ”. With pain I am writing, instead of telling as per our custom we forced to tell the guests “ ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ಬೇಗ ಬೇಗ ಊಟ ಮಾಡಿ ಬೇಗ ಬೇಗ ಎದ್ದೇಳಿ”. ಎಂಥಹ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ. Of course we understand the timings of Mutt, because of infants & just chit chatting with our guests, we were shocked when the lights were off at exactly 8pm indirectly telling us to “ GET OUT OF THE PREMISES “. Almost with tears we went out in severe cold condition with infants. This type of bitter experience we have not experienced anywhere except in this mutt. We left Mutt heavy heartedly cursing ourselves for arranging “DINNER “ for guests. No one had food satisfactorily. This bad review I am writing with a hope at least further no one will be ill treated like this & the matter will reach the highest authority.

Peaceful, calm and serene. The place is filled with positive vibes of vedic chants and mantras. What Shri Shri sugunenedra teertha swamigalu has done is beyond what words can praise. Presence of Shri Krishna, Lakshmi, Vaayu, Rudra, Ganapati and most dear Raghavendra swami s Brundavana makes it the ultimate place to visit. Ample opportunity to volunteer and give it back to the community. Priests are very helpful, friendly, highly knowledgeable in Vedic mantras, rituals and yet humble. I have been able to learn so much from them without them expecting anything from me. That's what I have heard from all my family and friends about the priests as well. The temple also offers free online learning of Bhagavad gita and vishnu sahasranama on an yearly schedule at the free of cost. On demand vedic shlokas and suktas can be learnt by requesting the priests. And not to mention the delicious prasada provided to each and every person entering the temple.

I am a single mother and went to the temple with my teen daughter. We were dressed appropriately for temple visit. There were other devotees in the main area , a group of 3 men, a couple and an intact family-dad, mom, 2 kids already there before us. Still the priest singled only my daughter and I and asked us to leave after 10 minutes. The Covid rule was imposed just on us even though the others were there longer and had come before us. If the rule was enforced fairly we just couldn't have been asked first. Don't donate to this temple. It's not run by pure and ethical people. We were not loud, not disturbing anyone, sitting in a corner and praying. We really wanted to see the final aarthi but could not. This temple management trains it's priests to discriminate based on appearsnce of wealth. T

It's a pure privilege to have puttige mutta in San Jose. This place serves typical udupi style, south Indian banana leaf style dinner (on paper plates here) every evening except of course on ekadashi days. They perform daily puje with utmost dedication. We usually like to arrive between 7-7:45pm and witness the puje and arathi and then enjoy the prasada at 8pm(served on all days except ekadashi). Though I must say, the temple is a pleasure to visit all through out the daily open hours. It's also the place to go for us brahmins when we need temples services for auspicious occasions. The priests here are well versed in Vedas, upanishads and other Hindu traditions. Extremely spiritual, pious atmosphere. We are very grateful for this Temple. Thank you Lord Krishna

This is the best temple foundation in whole USA I believe they have great ethics and trying to maintain Hindu culture and tradition without hurting anyone beliefs. The best part is the prasadham which they everyday after the Pooja in the evenings and on weekends both in afternoon and evening at 8.00 pm. They make you sit down on the floor as indian tradition and serve 6 course meal which gives a nostalgic of Karnataka food. I visit all the way from Sacramento every weekend to be part of their tradition either while singing songs or doing bhajans. I highly recommend everyone to visit temple during evening Pooja and experience the Kannada folk songs.

  • Amruta Nadgouda

The place where you can feel peaceful and spiritual. You can visit the temple website to check the poojas performed throughout the week. If you reach around 7pm, you can get to see the pooja and hear all the mantras, bhajans/songs. Around 8pm they serve prasada (food) which is delicious. If you are interested you can do some seva by cleaning the dinner area and washing vessels in the kitchen but none force you to do that. Its upto you. Parking space is available. You will find many kannada speaking people. I would recommend to visit this place.

  • Raghavendran Ramanathan

This is a Krishna temple, built as a branch of the Puttige Mutt from Udupi. The ceremonies here are followed as per the udupi Shri Krishna Temple. So it is the go to place for people from Udupi who have this temple as their Kuladevru. Very difficult to get parking here, since Sunol has zero street parking. We can park across the road in The Alameda, in a public parking spot, or in CVS pharmacy. The temple itself is super-quite, and the only sound you will hear is from the temple pooja itself. Great place for a visit.

  • Pushpalatha Srinivasan

Food was good but food services were disappointing. They finished the entire Satyanarayana Pooja in 45 minutes inspite of starting late. Served food in 9” plate and water in flimsy 3 oz cups. You could barely lift the cups because they would crumple. If you are sitting on the floor and imagine eating out of a 9” plate, where the volunteer was rushing to serve Payasam right on sambar rice. They splattered water on the floor, food items in the plate. Lack of human decency in the abode of god.

  • Srikanth Raghavendra

Extremely peaceful temple and great place to visit for poojas and ceremonies. Dedicated staff and wonderful team of volunteers serving to help devotees, round the year. This place radiates energy and connection to the sublime divinity. Blessed by His Holiness Sri Sri Sugunendra Thirtha who visits at least once an year and leads several holy initiatives.

Temple should be the place where devotees should feel happy while going back from temple . But I always saw the priest showing rude behaviour and they think that they are superior compared to the others. They should learn to treat everybody with respect. Just because they perform rituals they are not equal to GOD. No need to teach US devotees about their manners since people are doing lot more hard work than just pooja.

  • Ravi Kottur

Being an Indian from the South we always seek better rendering of mantras and prayers to God. SKV has both. Serene and calm. Parking will be a challenge if you go there unplanned. The prasada offered to the devotees has a godly touch. You can offer Dakshina in cash or kind. We visit SKV at least once a month and they have gradually improved in all aspects. Gurubhyo Namaha

  • Anuradha Talur

The temple is very nice with South Indian feel. A good place to meditate if you go early morning when there are less people. The place gets crowded at night. You would have to park your car in the street which is limited so plan your visit. At night around 19:45-20:00 they serve delicious food. :) You can also volunteer there and help with the cleaning afterwards, if interested.

Dont even deserve a 1 1) Money minded: I asked for Panchanga, I despite telling I am a student they charge 4 dollars 2) Poorly Maintained Restrooms: I went to restroom here and it was stinking 3) Attitude: When I came from India when I asked for help, they did not respond as expected. 4) Only reason for visit is Rayara Brindavana else I will not visit this place

  • Ananth Achar

The only place for Hindus to worship . The people from Udupi it is a place for all the poojas, worships, havans and annual pithr shradhas. Well maintained and attracts more devotees from various places of California.. The volunteers perform Bhajans and it really creates dedicative enviornment. Good place to visit and do good meditation

  • Sitanshu Seth

Nice low-key temple in the middle of a residential area in San Jose. Main deity here is Lord Krishna, from the Udupi tradition Seems like it would be a good place to come when it is quiet, and relax and maybe meditate

Really love the temple mainly because of the preists and prasadam. they have fixed schedule in the evenings like bhajans, chanting purushasukta, vishnu sahasranama etc., Religious mood is there always and the temple makes sure that everyone can participate in the service of the lord.

  • Chitra Patil

What a peaceful temple near downtown San Jose! Looks small on the outside, but spacious inside. Pujas feel very personal and all Kannada priests.Guru Raghavendra is there along with Krishna here. This is a branch of Udupi's Puthige matha. Online bookings for all sevas is efficient.

  • Naveen Nagaraja

We used to visit this Mutt quite often on every Thursday. The best place to relax your mind . They serve food and we see lot of volunteers helping to serve and clean the place. Make sure you read the signs before parking jn the Sunol street, it is reserved for the residents only .

  • Arunkumar Vedavyasan

We got there about 7:30pm, and the pooja was half over, we were invited by the devotees to join them inside and told us they will serve food after one hour. We went inside and sat on the bench listening to the priests chanting. We left before they could finish. Its was nice

  • Ravikumar HK

Very poor management. Staff/Priest needs to be more humble than being rude. Priest was expecting the devotees(friends baby naming ceremony)to know some of the rituals, info. that they weren't aware of; priest Sarcastic reactions were evident during the whole puja process.

  • Usha Kamath

Hindu temple run by Udupi region people of Karnataka. In a residential area hence limited parking. Not a very commercialised temple, find it peaceful.

Very peacful place. One would get positive vibe while in temple and equal blessing from deities. Priests and temple staff are very kind and awesome hospitality. They won't let anyone go without having prasada. Really "Atithi Devo Bhava" has meaning in this temple.

  • Anitha Ramalingam

They let u contribute to swami by cutting veggies if u go by evening Thursdays. During aarati time they give prasadam boxes. Scrumptious meals.

  • Ram Dongre

We visited the temple on a quiet Saturday morning. The temple has Krishna as the main deity and has the heritage of Sri Krishna temple at Udupi, Karnataka, India. There are spacious rooms for prayer, homa/yajnya and events.

  • Hari Prasadh

Parents loved the udupi atmosphere and want to do a repeat visit tommorow! Volunteers do a great job of coordinating and serving food to all. Wish the location was in a slightly better place along with good parking options.

  • Akash Jhawar

This is a Kannad (Indian) place. Although understanding pujan is difficult. But it is a good place to worship. Make sure to have Prasad after the puja, the food is so tasty here. Anyone can plan a visit, there is no fee.

Would recommend for the Temple administration to update the timings open for public. I reached premises at 4.00 pm and waited for nearly 15-20 mins at the Gate. the temple was closed, and calls were not answered too.

  • Aditya Samalla

Great ambience and brilliant prasad. Gotta visit this place. Located in a residential area so it would be better to park your vehicle in public parking space that is just 3 mins walk from this place.

  • Prathamesh Karve

Nice clean temple with murtis of Krishna and Ganesha. We reached them around 1pm, which is past their prasad time. But the lady there brought us packed meals in boxes. That was a really nice gesture.

  • Ruchita Agarwal

Very small neighborhood temple. Nice, but not worth for visiting for a far distance. You perhaps would have similar or bigger temples much near to your own residence.

  • Navil Heggere

Very nice. Parking is the main issue. There are 3 hour public parking lots between Race and Surnol on both sides of the road. Follow the signs and the big 'P' sign.

  • Pavan Kulkarni

On our first visit we found it hard to identify the temple from the street, also street parking is a bit hard to find on weekends. The temple is really nice inside.

  • Poonam Shetty

One should definitely keep going to Shri Krishna Vrundavana temple, as this place is very peaceful and keeps you connect to your roots.
