If any business deserves a negative rating it's this one. I only have a car loan through SSSCU and thank god. The last several years trying to deal with them has been the worst experience I have ever had with any business. You cannot make a payment through their website. Redirected to different partner site. Actually, there is no way to make a payment without a fee to make a payment... unless you have a checking account with them and pay load directly through transfer from that account. If not, guess what? you are paying a fee to make a payment. If your payment is late, they will not let you make online payment. If you call to make a payment, but you do not know your account number, you cannot make a payment. If you do not have your account number they WILL HELP YOU WITH NOTHING. Will not take payment. Will not compare with any other info to verify account. Will NOT take payoff of loan over the phone, or by card - must pay with check at branch location (or have an account to transfer from - theirs only of course) - better find your account number because your birth cert, dl, and passport mean nothing when they are inconveniencing you to keep your account safe from payment. Nearest branch is 9 hours away by the way, so that makes things super convenient as well. I have never in my life had to try so hard to pay a loan. If someone calls and wants to pay on my account without knowing anything about it - please just let them. Oh and to top it all off, the people you talk to when you do call are exceptionally rude about not helping at all. If you get a great rate at SSSCU - Refinance immediately.

This was the worst experience I’ve ever had from a credit union. Let me just start off by saying during the virus pandemic when nobody was working for 3 months they had my car towed, and would not defer any payments at the start of the pandemic. when I could not make any payments by the end of the pandemic, because I was just living off of the stimulus check for my family and I, they had it towed. I talked to a lady named “Karen” in their credit resolutions Department and I told her I can make a payment on June 4th because I start working a week prior to that and so she decided to have it towed on that day. I’ve never had my car towed before so this was very embarrassing for me. I also have a car Lone through allied financial and they asked no questions and gave me 4 month deferred payments.

As a long time member ( I have frequented this location since 2016) I am very disappointed with my visit on 10/10/2023. Carol, the service member is rude, has an attitude, and should really learn how to deal with customers like the rest of the service members at this location. I have never been treated like this by any of the other members. They are usually kind and even go out of their way to talk to you and make you feel welcome. She did the opposite and made me want to get what I needed done and leave as quickly as possible. Truly disappointed with this visit and hopefully my next one will be better.

Quite possibly the worst retail bank I have ever dealt with. Not are they not accommodating to their members they are just refuse to offer basic service to their customers. A simple transaction like a bank wire is not allowed to be completed by a teller anymore. You are told that you must have an appointment to complete that simple transaction that in the past was done by tellers. I understand with Covid precautions they want to limit the time inside the branch but to make a person wait days for an appointment for a transaction that is done in less then 5 minutes.

Silver state schools looks for every way they can make a buck. Not what you would expect from a credit union. They are trying to automate the banking system which is good. But charging me to make a deposit into my checking account with a banker is absurd. I bank at 3 different banks and have never had to pay for a complimentary candy for my daughter until she asked for one at their teller. Yes it's only $2 but my bank should focus on keeping money safe and not trying to find ways to take it from me.

Do not use this branch or this credit union in general. The associated are rude, someone huffed at me because I asked a question. All problems stemming from how terrible their online banking website is, its virtually impossible to use. Also you'll be hit with multiple random fees wherever they can. I've never had to go so far out of my way to pay a company money and then for them to come back and just be rude and have an attitude for what reason?

The worst bank possible. You have an issue? They don’t care. Absolutely rudest staff that never know anything and have to “ask a supervisor for help” no matter what the question is. Need something rushed? Nah there is a queue and you’ll get an answer eventually. If you don’t live in Vegas or near a branch don’t finance here. Absolutely the worst.

A member since 2015. I have had a wonderful experience. I know why I chose a credit union instead of a large institution. Credit union banks are not for everyone; only those of us who are conscious of where we bank and why. Everyone at the Farm branch are professional, kind, and extremely helpful. Thank you!

Not impressed. Ex.s: Customer service is option #6 on their phone tree. Hold time estimates are widely-off. If you're not a W-2 employee, the doorman at your office building will get approved on a car loan with them 3 weeks faster than you will despite 1/10 the earnings. (True story)

This place is terrible. It’s like banking in the 80’s or 90’s. Who charges these types of fees? Closed on Saturdays too? Most branches closing? One teller with a line out the door. Glad I only have to make a car payment here because I would NEVER voluntarily bank here.

I have been a member here since 1980, when I got a junior account, lol I have always been treated courteously and with professionalism. If I had a problem, it was resolved quickly. I would highly recommend Silver State!
