This review is long over due. Sip Pho is hands down my favorite pho place in Austin! Not only is the food phenomenal but their commitment to outstanding customer service is outmatched. They do an awesome job of learning who their regulars are and making folks feel welcome as soon as they walk through their doors. Let me go over some other details that I’m sure you’re interested in: The food: Their pho is fantastic! I’ve tried many of the different options on their menu and they’re all amazing! The pho comes out quickly and is always perfectly hot and and fresh. The drinks: Their boba teas are very delicious. My favorite is definitely their brown sugar boba brûlée with cheese foam. It sounds crazy but it’s so so good! Definitely try it if you’re feeling adventurous. The atmosphere: The interior of Sip Pho is beautifully bright, airy, sophisticated, and modern! I’m particularly obsessed with the tall ceiling and exposed wooden beams. There’s a good variety of tables to choose from that can easily accommodate parties of 10 or more people. They also have a beautiful outdoor patio. Dine-in experience: Excellent! Tables are always cleared away in a timely manner. Ordering is fast and easy at the front counter. All of their servers are friendly and food always comes out hot, fast, and fresh! Ordering to-go: While I prefer to dine-in because it’s so pleasant on the inside, occasionally I will order to-go. They’re to-go experience is just as fast, friendly, and efficient as their dine-in experience. They package your order with care and everything you could possibly need to enjoy it at home: microwavable containers, condiments, napkins, utensils - it’s all there! To wrap this up, Sip Pho is hands down my favorite place to grab a bite to eat after a long day of work. They have such good customer service and the quality of their food is superb. I definitely recommend everyone check them out if you’re in the area. You won’t be disappointed! :)

6-13-23, we are back in Austin visiting from Chicago and SIP is an Austin must stop for us. We had meat combo plate with lemongrass beef and pork belly. Both had great flavors but I probably will do pork belly and short ribs next. The beef lemongrass was not fatty enough for us. Wow! What a surprise? My mouth couldn't deny the flavors from this place. True authentic style Viet food. Stuff you'd eat at a Viet home. My wife and I ordered Com Suon and Beef Pho, Cafe Sua Da. Blew me away, traveling between Toronto, Chicago, and Austin, Sip Pho, is an Austin destination you should not miss. The owners give this place passion, truth, and culture brilliant to form with an appealing modern twist. It's a cozy Viet cabin community seating, and decor for comfort and enjoyment. I told my wife that it's been years since I've had good restaurant Vietnamese. Normally, ingredients are shortcutted, and something is always missing, not Sip Pho. This is that place, I would visit each time I come to Austin. It's only 2nd to my wife's cooking at home. That says everything. Coincidentally we came back the next day, the last day of our Austin trip to try the Bun Bo Hue. Another mouthful of authentic Vietnamese, enjoyed it all. 3 for 3, each a 10. Highly recommended.

This place is by my temporary apartment near west campus. I went to school here back in 2007, and I honestly don't remember many Vietnamese spots near campus. I've lived in Austin for a while. Back in the day I used to stop in Tam Deli, which looks like a hole in the wall. I admit. Haven't been that way in a couple of years, but once upon a time, they had pretty excellent food. Nothing fancy, but I've never gotten the sandwiches. Any time I try Vietnamese food stomach points me more towards a steamed meal. I'll have to try one soon. About Sip Pho. I got my food cold. But that was probably my problem. The website said it'd be ready in 30 minutes. My intuition told me 12 tops. I went ahead and waited, but next time I would at least drop in around 15 or so. If you have to wait, it's a spacey environment. Anyway, so, accounting how long I waited to go pick it up, it was so good I ate it cold. The place mostly caters to younger crowd. But I'm certainly going to be coming back for pick up. I always like to eat some nutritious food with a little bit well-cooked meat cooked in. I can appreciate their hustle. Well done, Sip.

Business partners and I from Dallas came into the restaurant as we’ve done plenty of times before. Big red flag we immediately noticed was that all of previous managers were no where to be found. After asking around, I was informed by other employees that the managers had quit and that owner has been taking tips for herself and drastically reducing paychecks despite having raised their prices almost three times in the previous year. It’s such a shame that despite how student oriented the restaurant is, that something like this is happening, and employees are unable to get any transparency regarding their pay. Quality of food has also changed. Noodles are soggier than ever, rice is often dry, and everything is expensive despite being the exact same food as their sister restaurant, pho please (which we stopped going to due to their roach infestation). Change is often a good sign In restaurants, but after our most recent experience, I believe it’s best to take our business elsewhere where the quality of food matches the ethics of the owners.

I just got off work and was hungry and wanted to try out this pho place in my neighborhood. So I headed to this place for dinner. the girl at the register was totally unhelpful. I ordered my food, paid for it, and tipped her" which I regret" I asked her do I get a number or do I sit anywhere? she looked confused and angry at me. And said just sit at table 20. That was the first time here, I guess I was supposed to read her little mind? I sat there waiting for my food, this guy comes out with my food. I don't have any Chopsticks, spoons, or any of the condiments. I asked him do I get it myself? and he pointed to an area by the bathroom. So I went over there to get my condiments and utensils but before I could grab it. He come by and get me the condiments that didn't have rooster sauce but the generic red sauce. I asked him if could I get the one with the rooster sauce and he just walks away. A couple came in after me and he was nice to them. he got them their condiments "the one with the rooster sauce" I guess if you're not white you're going to get a different kind of service here FYI letting you know

I really enjoy eating their Pho Seafood soup bowl and substituting the regular noodles for egg noodles. I think their broth has a really good flavor. The pork Banh mi here is a favorite of our ours as well. During their peak lunch hours, it can be tough to get a table together if you arrive in a group larger than four people, but usually their staff is very helpful in trying to get us all seated together.

Limited parking by the entrance. There are a few more parking spots behind the restaurant on a lot between them and Pacha Café. If I can't find parking on their lots, I always find parking on the street near Fruth St, about one block east of the restaurant. Usually I can find a spot under a tree to keep my car cool. Very helpful during the summer months. Pay attention to the street sign as it's paid street parking.

A friend of mine said he hadn’t had good pho since he moved to Austin, so I took him here and the food did not disappoint. He ordered the beef broth with flank and tenderloin, and I ordered the shrimp bao and the vegan pho. Everything was great. I was pleasantly surprised at how flavorful the vegan pho broth was. The noodles were deliciously chewy. The bao were pillowy. They give student and military discounts which is awesome. Very clean, nice space with friendly and efficient staff. Will definitely return.

I'm a visitor to Austin and I went here from Instagram advertising. The decoration was very cute and it caught my eyes right away. I saw the Chef’s recommendation; Pho Beef Short Ribs and wanted to give it a try. The review was nice and everyone said it was the best pho ever in the town. In my opinion, I've tried so many pho in my life and it was the worst pho I ever had. I couldn't even finish the whole bowl and just left. The short ribs were delicious however some of the different meat they seasoned, I tried once and had a strong flavor that I couldn't even handle. The pork belly had too much fat and sausage tasted terrible. Also, I didn't like the noodle it wasn't the kind of usually people provide with the pho. Unfortunately, the broth tasted like water. When people usually cook pho, they cook for a while so it makes the soup taste deep flavor come out. Whether they did or not, the broth tasted blend for me. 2/5 stars for encouragement and at least cute decorations!

Cool spot by campus. Clean, new and yummy! Came in for the pho and was not disappointed. It totally hit the spot. I chose the beef broth with the first two meats. Order and payment is at the front counter and yes there is a tip screen. (They bring food to your table and bus the table when you leave) Not gonna lie, I was a little hesitant about my 5 star rating because they have health signs posted about 6ft social distancing but then they tried to seat us right in between 2 other table. It seemed silly because the rest of restaurant was empty! …I requested a different table and that was no problem… Food came out pretty quick and was nice and hot! (Temperature) Atmosphere was bright and clean. I think next time I will try the bahn mi, I hear it’s really good!

This restaurant was my favorite. However, recently, they hire a new manager who is acting sooo rude and unreasonable. One day, we ordered the extra steamed veggies, but the cashier forgot to add the side into our order. It was just a small mistake. We did not think anything bad about the cashiet. However, the manager came and asked us to pay for the extra veggies. There is nothing wrong with asking for money for paying the extra food, either. However, the way the manager was asking was soooo rude. He was acting that it was our mistake and we should go to the front desk and simply pay. It's like a police asking for a fine! We were offended and simply left the restaurant without finishing our food. We really hope the restaurant would take this incident seriously. The stuffs used to be really nice and we really like this restaurant! We don't want all of these ruined because of one person.

I'm from NY and pretty critical when it comes to pho. For measure, I have a day literally called Pho Sunday's where I try different pho spots. NYC pho scene has fallen off the face of the earth as it's not what it used to be. Now I'm visiting my friends in Austin, TX and I gotta say the pho here is simply better inclusive of the service and atmosphere. Tried their original pho, lemongrass bun bo (noodle soup as well), pork belly bahn mi and some drinks. Similar pricing compared to NYC but the flavor, service and atmosphere is on point.

So far one of the good place that you can try to get some Authentic Pho & Bun Bo Hue in Austin! My family and I are from Houston and we have been eager to find a nice place in Austin to get some VNese food! We’re a little picky bout Pho & Bun Bo Hue but Sip Pho has surprised us with so many many things! The beefy aroma when you walked in the restaurant! You can tell that it is a good place when it looks so clean and new but the beefy and umami aroma still lingering around! Next is the clear broth and the juicy yet soft of eye of round steak and brisket! It was superb! Lovin’ the friendliness of the team and the family of Sip Pho ! They were so helpful and attentive and would recommend us so many places to go in Austin! 5/5 Stars for sure! Can’t wait to come back for more whenever I’m in town!

This is a pretty good place to get pho. The broth is very good, but the portions in your bowl are not large, expect a limited amount of protein in the bowl. The sides are lime, Chinese basil, and sprouts. They should add cilantro to the side dish as it's excellent with pho. Overall a decent place and I'd go again if I was on the north side of Austin. Keep in mind when they're busy you're looking at an hour wait in line to order.

What a great Vietnamese place - discovered by accident as we were thrift shopping across the street and got hungry and wandered in. Beautiful minimalist space with flowers hanging from beams overhead. Standard set of Vietnamese cafe food (albeit some of the best) - pho, bun (vermicelli), drip coffee with sweet milk. AND the biggest damn banh mi sandwiches I've ever seen. The portions here are large and all of the ingredients are fresh. The grilled pork is amazing on both the banh mi and the vermicelli. The pho is fantastic as well. This is easily in the top of the best Vietnamese food I've had. What a gem...

So my friend already posted a review, but here is my perspective. The restaurent is fine, but that one server there is terrible. I'm from houston and my friend went to sip pho many time want to introduce the place. Omg, what an impression of Austin. How on earth this restaurent have so many good reviews, but have that kind of customer service. My first time in life got this treatment from a restaurant. I'm shocked...but anyway, I think she new. Cause no way she can survive that long in this kind of customer service industry. Good luck to the restaurent, and hope them fix it soon for the business sake..cuz wow....

This Pho restaurant is one of a top reviewed restaurants, but I have a second though on the pho. I like their salad bar concept about green onion and lime - get as much as you want. The beef broth had more sweet taste than others. The noodle was a bit of over cooked (soft). One thing I dislike most was the amount of MSG in my pho! I noticed that because I was SUPER thirsty for the rest of my day. I felt my mouth was dry no matter how much water I drink. MSG generally categorized as safe by the FDA, but its true is still debated.

Pho was good. Had plenty of beef. Wish they used the traditional fresh long thin noodles vs the dry kind. Liked that you can get your own tray of slice onions, jalapeños, cilantro, and lime. We got our food fast. Service was great. The only compliant is why would you use broke bowels to service the pho to customers. Both of our were broken. One was a quarter size. Come on, throw them away before someone get cut. Please get new ones. Don’t be cheap. Think of the customer experience.

I was excited to come here from the reviews and the fact it states in their website that their food is “s i m p l e - fresh ingredients made to order. e x p o s e d - no filters or powders, only real bones. h o n e s t - do it right and do it well”. However, they use MSG in their dishes and the meatballs aren’t freshly made. Both seem contradictory to their ethos and make me question the freshness and quality of all their food. That being said, the staff were very nice and helpful.

First time here great customer service. Staff were very friendly. Staff was able to help us select our meal by showing us pictures of the types of beef and ingredients. I highly recommend the babbas especially matcha thai tea with babba and brown sugar babba milk tea. Will definitely be trying more Babbas. Staff recommends the babba brulee. The Pho was great!! It hit the spot even though it was take out The grill meats were flavorful just wish it had a sauce implemented maybe dining would be best. Nontheless glad to find a spot with great staff and great food.

I am a native Houstonian. I moved to Austin about a month ago. I’ve been exploring around Austin for good eats places and marking on my map list. Sip Pho is definitely going on my list. I ordered the large combo special pho. The broth was well done. My only pet peeve was that I ran out of meat way before I ran out of noodles…hence the reason I took off one star. Still, of all of the Pho places I have been to so far, this place is on the top of my list…as of now anyways. I would recommend this place for anyone craving for some authentic tasting Vietnamese Pho.

  • Isabella Grace

This is my go-to Vietnamese restaurant. I loved the Bon mi & you have to try the brown sugar brule bobba (if you don't have a texture thing), it's worth the up charge. The aesthetic is super cute & the staff is very friendly. It is near campus, so depending on the time of day, it can be quite busy, but it's worth it, and the food is usually served quickly regardless.

The inside of the place looks amazing. Neat and clean interior and the staff are all professional. I ordered egg rolls and the beef short ribs pho. The ribs had plenty of meat on the bone which is a plus. My friend had a meat and veggie plate, but I didn’t get a chance to taste it. Their plate looked bountiful with food. Cool place to check out. I’ll be back to try other dishes and the boba tea.

We had dinner at Sip Pho. Cute interior design and plenty of seating. Seats are assigned at the till, so no need to find a seat first. We had grilled short ribs with vermicelli and bun Bo hue. Both are delicious! The portion of vermicelli is pretty big and generous amount of short ribs for the price. Perfect summer dish in Texas heat. I’ll definitely go back.

I had a wonderful experience at Sip Pho. The waitress that help with our order was super friendly. Her way of pronouncing "bún bò" was on point and made me smile. She suggested various additional toppings/ingredients that I could order for my bún bò such as shrimp paste, chilli oil, beef rib, etc. Shrimp paste elevates the broth but it has strong aroma. If this is your first time, I would suggest putting just a but in your broth to try.

Very good pho. Great selection of meats and good coffee. Disclaimer: Instagramers will deceive you: Despite all the reviews and raves I really don't encourage ordering the pho brisket specialty. It is extremely chewy and tough. There's a lot of fat to work around. You'll spend more time dropping the massive hunk of meat in your pho and splashing your self and the people around you than enjoying it. If you avoid that then you'll have a five star experience.

The interior is clean and modern. I am Viet myself and there are places I’ve been to with beautiful interiors but bad food; however, I can NOT say the same for this place. Giving this an Austin 4, but it would be more of a like a 3 in other asian populated cities like Houston. Biggest complaint would be my bun bo hue came out luke warm. Overall, it's a good alternative for individuals that feel uncomfortable at the traditional crowded viet restaurants that speaks broken english. Their pho is good. Could be a tad more flavorful (as in less water in the soup, portion is too big anyways). Speaking of that, their milk tea is too small and watery. Half of it was ice. Totally not worth it. The environment is nice and clean. A bit pricey for what you get. In summary, don't water down the soup and the tea. Reduce the price by a couple of bucks, and they've got a winner.

The Vietnamese food here is pretty good. It has solid flavors and presentation is on point. Sure it’s not 100% classic Vietnamese street food, but for a local restaurant in the area offering Vietnamese food; you can’t beat Sip Pho. Price for food here is slightly more than average for the same item around the north Lamar near the MT market area. However, prices reflect the area they are located. TL:DR it’s great Vietnamese food. Fair price.

They have one size of pho and also serve more food than just pho. The place is very clean and aesthetic and calming. The staff are friendly amd make the food very fast! The pho comes in homey bowls with different patterns that help create the aesthetic feel of white tables and red wood. There is plenty of protein and noodles in the pho too, they do not skimp! The place overall has one of the best vibes in campus-town Austin imo.

Beautifully designed Vietnamese restaurant that offers delicious Pho at reasonable prices served in an amazing atmosphere! The staff here was also very friendly and the food comes out very quick. Good pho - great quality of meat but overall average. The soup could be a little better in my opinion, and the noodles were not soft enough. Tried the fruit tea - a little too sweet and artificial. It’s a pity you can’t adjust the sweet level. There are other options as well - will definitely come back to try other dishes.

To me this is the first place in the US that has every Viet dish on the menu done correctly. I had pho, bun bo, and wonton - 3 different types of broth done exactly like they are in an authentic food vendor in Vietnam, not waterred down or one broth for 10 types of soup like all other restaurants here.

The beef pho’s portion is pretty large and the taste is good, little bit sweet? But overall is a good pho. Vietnamese coffee is refreshing and not too sweet. Worth a try:)

Amazing pho! I almost didn’t go in because it didn’t look like it would be authentic Boy was I wrong. The portion was generous, tons of meat, and the meat quality was so much better than your typical pho restaurant. Love the elevated take on pho, and we will be regulars! …

Delicious food and super friendly staff! I got the pho beef short rib (on the Chef’s Choice menu section). It was incredible: HUGE portion of tender beef, tasty broth (if a little sweet), and overall I told several of my friends and will be back soon to eat here again!

Great atmosphere. Broth had a lot of flavor and rare stake was delicious and soft. The staff was very friendly and service was quick. Will definitely be coming back to try different things!

I came with a group and ordered the wonton soup which was the best I've had in a long time. The baos are perfect. the chicken is extremely flavorful. the servings are VERY LARGE. there is plenty of natural lighting although it is kind of loud and echoey inside. More

Masks are mandatory. This might be the best Pho place in Austin imo. The line was out the door, but the wait was well worth it. The service was top notch, even tho they were clearly under staffed. My girlfriends and I sat outside, which was

Bun bo hue (spicy vietnamese noodle soup), beef rib Pho (served in big metal bowl), and beef ribs rice plate are our favorite. Pho is probably the best in Austin (somewhat authentic flavor, relatively clear broth, healthy, not overly greasy

Best pho with best drinks. I've been here several times and sometimes just for the bubble tea. I tried black sugar, matcha, and taro. All of them are very tasty.

If it were possible to add a sixth star, I absolutely would! Sip Pho is not only an excellent post-workout healthy option for the #fitfam, but it is also complemented by an excellent staff/owner! If you haven’t been, I highly recommend

I have already been here a couple of times, and my experience is always the same. First off, I'd like to say the customer service is great, like the kind of service you expect to get at Whata burger. Noodle soups are usually messy but

Chicken pho was honestly not our favorite… it needed flavor, even with all the toppings. The crab rangoons and pork egg rolls were fire though!

I think it's worth the rating it has. However, I personally didn't think their pho was that good. I am a huge fan of their Bahn Mi sandwiches though, they're delicious!

My new favorite Vietnamese restaurant! Wow I just love the vibes and of course the food. The food was amazing, from the looks to the taste I highly recommend. They give large portion sizes too! Come try it!

The food was delicious. I had the Pork Bahn Mi and the Combo (Shrimp and Lemongrass Beef) Vermicelli plate. The shrimp was sooooo good. From out of town and not sure where to go? This was delicious! More

This place was not bad but not great. Outdoor dining was a nice idea but the flies were a nucense so we ate inside. We had the pho. Broth was good. Good service.
