Sir Edmond Halley’s was the first English Pub in Charlotte and they have stayed true to that. They were actually the first place in Charlotte to have decent beer on tap. In the early days, they had several selections imported from England on draft. They still have Old Speckled Hen and Guinness but many of the other taps are occupied by great local craft beers. They have a full bar and make nice drinks. They also have a decent wine list. The food is very good featuring some dishes you wouldn’t expect to find in a British Pub such as Jamaican Jerk Quesadilla (highly recommended!). Another dish I am fond of is the Lemon Chicken. They also have fantastic wings and burgers! Now for the traditional Pub dishes: *They have the best Fish & Chips in town!* Their Guinness Stew is authentic and very tasty! Their Bangers and Mash (Mild English sausages and mashed potatoes) is authentic and quite tasty too. Many people really like the Shepherds Pie and it is a good representation of the dish but not the best I’ve had. Of course, the best that I’ve ever had was in a small family owned pub in Ireland so that’s not all that surprising! In the traditional British pub style, this place is very chill and is a great place to talk with friends over good food and drink. This place has been around for years and has stature in the evolving craft beer market in Charlotte. It is not to be missed! Cheers!

I have been here a few times over the years and have always enjoyed the food. However, I went here for St. Patty's Day this past weekend to grab some food and celebrate the holiday and our experience was horrible. Upon sitting down, my boyfriend ordered a coffee along with our other beverages. When it came out, it tasted like black tea & we asked the waitress about it. She claimed "It's St. Patrick's day, weirder things have happened" and then left. She came back saying that they put tea in the coffee filter. Again blaming it being St. Patrick's Day. We thought it was weird but continued with our order. We ordered the Irish egg rolls (which were good). The rest of our order was BAD. The bangers and mash came out cold (peas were still frozen!). When we told the waitress about it -- she took it back to the kitchen and apologized saying "Sorry, it's not normally like this, but it's St Patrick's Day"....When she brought it back out it was the same dish we had already eaten off of, just microwaved! Definitely not sanitary...The last thing ordered was the "curry" fries. Which literally came out as a side of fries with some runny curry soup in a tiny cup -- not exactly what I would expect curry fries to be. We ended up spending $40 on this meal plus tip, and was definitely not worth the price. I also just don't understand why it being St Patrick's Day is an excuse. I feel like this is the time for an Irish Pub to shine, not have one problem after the other.

The atmosphere was very nice, and I liked how secluded it was, however that is the only reason I liked the place. Because I am younger and am just about to turn 22, I find it pretty normal for people to ask me to ID. Obviously it should be no big deal, and it isn't for me. However, I felt extremely uncomfortable when I was there because the bartender kept giving me looks of judgement, and when he asked me for my ID he seemed very on edge and almost annoyed. When I did show him my ID, he legitimately raised his eyebrows and inspected it very thoroughly before giving it back, as if he was that surprised I was 21. Afterwards it was even more uncomfortable, as if I was a bother to him that I sat down at the bar and asked for a drink. And as soon as I looked at the menu, I finished my drink and immediately left because of how expensive everything was! I do not care how good it is, I am not paying almost $20 for some fish and french fries. Honestly, it seemed like other people were having a good time there, but it seemed like this was a place much more fitting for those who are older and not necessarily new to the bar scene. My recommendation to those like me who are younger in years is to NOT go here. You're going to feel very uncomfortable, and almost treated like a delinquent because you're young and aren't as experienced with the bar scene.

I went to Sir Edmond's for lunch today and was really looking forward to it. I visited this pub 3 years ago before the pandemic started and was very impressed. My server seated me and took my drink order. It took 15 minutes to receive my drink. I then placed my order which also took a very long time. When I did get my food order, it wasn't right. But the server was long gone. When she finally came back out, I told her my food was made wrong. Not only did she not apologize, she sighed as if I was causing her so much distress. When my food finally came out, she left the table and didn't provide any napkins. I had to ask for a refill or she never would have provided one. The only reason I'm not giving a 1 star is because the food really was good. I also like the ambiance. I would still like to eat there again but if it's the same server, I'd turn around and leave. All in all I spent almost 2 hours there and the meal should have took 45 minutes - 1 hour tops. I did consider short staffing but that was not the case. They were not busy and seemed to have a decent amount of help. They just need better help. The service did not meet the standard given the good quality of the food.

We came here for an early dinner (4:30pm) on Saturday. There were a few other people there eating, but no staff greeted us and there was no hostess. We wandered around and over to the bar and asked the bartender if we should seat ourselves. He said yes, so we picked a table. After a minute or two a server came out, poured us some water, and brought menus. We ordered the Halley's Potato Cakes as an appetizer, the Guinness Irish Stew, the Fish & Chips, and the Shepherd's Pie. Portions were small for the price, or more accurately, the dishes were overpriced for what you got. Everything was under-seasoned. The Guinness Irish stew was very average. (The beef stew at Workman's Friend blows this one away.) The Shepherd's Pie was bland (and basically soup) and the "crispy" potato topper was not so much crispy as just dry. The fish was cooked well and was hands down the best part of the meal, but very small for $16 and the chips (fries) were just your standard restaurant steak fries that were not crispy. (Big Ben's Fish & Chips were bigger and better overall.) There's just too many great food options in Charlotte to waste money here on overpriced an underwhelming food.

Found this gem last night after leaving Mooseheads around the corner (terrible. Another story for another day). Located in a back alley, with indoor and outdoor seating, this English pub had some of the best, friendliest wait staff we have experienced. Three of us walked into a cool (air-conditioned), cool (ambiance), location with a bar, large dining room and semi-private party area. The hostess sat us almost right away and we had our choice of tables or half booth, half tables. Dark wood accents and minimal decoration added to the pub feel. Menu was a nice mixture of pub favorites such as shepherds pie or bangers and mash as well as a selection of dinners, burgers and sandwiches. We started with two appetizers; fried provolone and the potato cakes in goat cheese sauce. Main dishes included fish and chips, "award winning" bacon cheese burger and stuffed zucchini. Apps were cheesy goodness, the fish was light, moist and perfectly crisp, the burger had bright, fresh tomato and lettuce with a nice seasoning to the meat and the zucchini was delicious as well. The three of us were first time visitors, but plan to be repeat customers.

First atmosphere.. After being in Ireland ,i must say this is reminiscent of the pubs in Dublin. Beer... great Irish selections. Hard to find a pub that serves Harp Food...meh. fish n chips are way overpriced for the small amount. Plus it is just not that good. Service... we were the only people there at the time. Why did it take 20 min to get our beer? Food came out in a reasonable time. I wanted cocktails sauce. Couldn't find server. Ok the tartar sauce was ok. Not my favorite condiment. Also the check out... very very awkward because the server is holding a hand held device, hovering over you. I felt that this was a 10% to 15% tip service but felt bullied into giving 20%. Will I return? Probably, but just for

We had a great experience at Halley's Pub. The patio seating is lovely and cozy but also spacious. The service was fabulous as was the food. The wide selection of alcoholic beverages was impressive. The icing on the cake was the fact that Sir Edmund Halley's Pub is DOG FRIENDLY. The staff provided water bowls put in the shade for the dogs; the patio has seating that is in full sun but also seating that would be shaded or tables with umbrellas that prevent you and your dog from becoming uncomfortably warm. I had a wonderful experience at this establishment and I WILL return and continue to highly recommend Halley's.

This is the second visit to this Irish restaurant. The meatloaf was delicious, a long with my Black & Tan (they called it half and half - Guinness and Harp). There is a cozy and friendly atmosphere in this place and we end up making new friends from all over, friends that go beyond the evening. This particular evening, we were part of an event and the person who was responsible to book us (we were over 20 people), didn't follow through. The management and staff quickly made it possible to make it happen. We've grown to really like this place. It's all that you want to have a great evening.

Everytime I eat here (which is only every couple years when I'm invited to go with a group of friends) I leave thinking I need to come now often. If it was 10 minutes closer to me I think it works best regular spot. It has a nice patio, a good selection of food choices. (We have another Irish pub we like with lots of outdoor space, but the food choices for the vegetarians in our family is limited).

I'm on a diet that oftentimes I really can't get anything but a salad that turns out to be subpar. The menu was varied enough that I think most would find something that is suitable for them.

It's a great place to eat dinner or enjoy the bar with friends. They're open late nights too so you can always find good fare when other restaurants are closed. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, service is speedy and the food is fresh and varied. I'm rarely disappointed by anything I've ordered, but management was excellent when I complained about a cold, flavorless entree I was served once. It went a long way towards making me a regular patron. If you like good portions, a unique "British pub" atmosphere, a variety of vegetarian and meat choices, and a great staff then you owe it to yourself to try Sir Edmonds. I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Wow, what an unexpected surprise. Needed a refreshment after visiting Blackhawk Hardware, and Maps found this place. A bit tricky to find, but well worth it (it's underneath the nail bar, in the back). Looks dark and stuck in the '80s at first, but the staff, drinks, regulars, and especially the food were a real treat. Good wine selection. Chicken-fried chicken and brussels sprouts were superb -- way better than typical pub food, and better than I've had at many fancy restaurants. Potato cakes, lemon chicken, and apple pie were also terrific. It's always a treat to find "joints" that seem mediocre at first, but turn out to be truly exceptional.

  • Hope Borders

waitresses were VERY rude. I have never in my life had such a poor experience with anyone in the service industry. It is St. Patrick’s Day and me and my friends went to their pub to drink, and they refused to serve us after we showed them our legal IDs. They then continued to harass us by saying “you can walk down there (referring to the outside bar) and maybe they will believe you.” These two waitresses looked no older than 18-19 years old and did not even bother to take our IDs and look at them. I wish I had asked for their names before leaving because this would be the one time in my life that I file a complaint about any employee.

  • Mark Thornton

We grabbed lunch here and it was okay. The food was actually very good. I got their bangers and mash which I did enjoy. The reason for the lower rating is because if you're calling yourself an Irish pub, at least look like an Irish pub, and don't put one item on the menu that makes it appear like an Irish pub --rant over. Aside from that, the place felt a bit grimy. It's nestled between CO and another spot down an ally which is cool. This place totally has the potential to be awesome! Make it look like an Irish pub, add Scotch egg's, sausage rolls, full English breakfast, and others to the menu, and we'd have five stars.

This places is FANTASTIC! Its been on the list to try and we came in around 8 on a friday, two seats at the bar opened up. Bartender was super quick to get us beverages and take our order. We got the potatoe cakes, Wings and a Bacon cheeseburger. All were absolutley fantastic! Can't not recommend this place enough seriously impressed.

I belong to two groups that meet here monthly. The outside patio is fun, despite occasional passing trucks (!) and they are flexible, letting us rearrange tables. Inside is warm, with muted lighting, and when we go at lunchtime, never busy. The food is really good, with an inviting menu, excellent beer selection. And last but not least, the wait staff are skilled and flexible, attending to our needs, remembering us (!), without being intrusive.

Great Irish type pub. The entrance is a little out of the way which adds to the pub-like charm. Once you get in the wood tones of the bar and the low ceilings really add lots to the experience. I enjoyed some Irish beer by bottle and joined an old friend for a couple hours of conversation. This was a good find that played much better for me than the smokehouse which we had originally picked. The food was basic pub food. So not a place to eat a proper meal, but I would definitely return again next time I am in town.

My favorite pub, hands down. Last experience was so much of a let down, that I questioned how long the new owners have had it. Not new owners. Awkward. Had maybe a 17oz pour for my pint. Good, right? No! It was supposed to be 20. I was in a hurry so all I could do was suggest to the manager that they check the temperature of the grill and oil for their fries (chips) as both were undercooked by no small margin. I will go back, for sure, but I will use caution with the food. Such a shame, butbi suppose that once the bar is set so high, there is only one way to go.

  • Lakelyn Poole

It seems like everyone comes to Sir Ed's for the beer and stays for the food. The food here is so far beyond your normal pub fare. Everything I've had has been great, especially the Irish potato cakes which are swimming in goat cheese sauce. It's really nice that there are both vegetarian and vegan options on the menu in addition to the normal British/Irish staples. If anyone is confused on where to find the entrance (which I was on my first visit), you park in the regular lot for Park Road Shopping Center and head down the stairs at the side of CO.

This is an iconic little spot, at least in my mind. My husband is English and he loves the beer selection. He is able to find some beers he hasn't seen since the UK. Great wine and cider list as well. Don't miss the Jamaican Jerk chicken nachos! They are huge and tasty!! The ostrich meatloaf is great, the chips with gravy and curry are spot on too. I do miss the kangaroo from the menu, but with so many other great choices it's ok! The inside gives a true British pub feeling or sit outside under the trees. Lovely spot either way!

  • Brenna Skinnon

I loooooove this place. There's nothing on this menu that doesn't taste good. Seriously, everything I've had here is delicious. I love that you can get an english pint (20oz) instead of the standard 16oz. When the weather is nice their patio is great spot to hangout. The tomato soup is the best ever!!!

Sir Ed's is our mountain bike team's favorite restaurant. We love coming here for our team meetings or a post-ride beer (best pint of Guinness in town!). The food is excellent. Our favorites include the trout, the fish n' chips, and the zucchini cakes. The shepherd's pie is a winter treat! Sir Ed's has a beautiful, cozy little garden patio that is a real hidden gem, especially in the spring and summer. The service is always friendly - we feel like family here. Thanks for everything! - Faster Mustache

Food was okay; shepards pie, the potatoes were burnt, but we waited over 30 minutes for food to come & mind you there were only 3 other people in pub @ the time. Salmon was a tiny piece, very flavorless- someone missed seasoning school. oh, they charge for a different salad dressing-waitress did not advise. service seemed like she was not thrilled doing her job. Although free drinks come w/ lunch, we ordered plain water & glasses were empty halfway through lunch. Not a place I would run to eat at!!

  • Jacqueline Telljohann

I've been here a couple of times now. Most recently, we went for a team lunch and I want impressed. The restaurant was almost completely empty and I'm still took 40 minutes to get our food. I got the corned beef brisket which was just ok. The meat was kind of dry and I probably wouldn't get it again. The side of coleslaw was what you would expect from a mayonnaise based coleslaw. Overall, I was a lot less impressed on this visit than on previous visits and will probably not come back again.

Very disappointed tonight. Usually a great experience. We drove in from out of town for dinner with friends, but at the hostess stand we were turned away because "the dishwasher is broken so we can't serve any more food". that was a perplexing reason to shut down service. I understand it's inconvenient, but a good sponge and some soap in the sink should do the trick for the half dozen or so tables that will come in now after 7:15 on a Wednesday, very disappointed. We won't be returning.

  • Steve Herzog

Had not been here in several years, but really enjoyed the outdoor seating in back. Our server Justine was terrific and coached us through everything from cocktails to desert. We tried all her suggestions, like the fried zucchini, the buffalo boneless chicken thighs (great idea and awesome). We also had the fish and chips which we agreed was the best we have ever had. We'll be back much sooner now!

I only went for drinks late one night after work, so I fairly can't rate food or say what it's like during the day. Prompt service though. Darts available. Plenty of screens to watch. Lovely outdoor patio lit at night. Only complaint is its really hars to find, even following Google maps. It's literally in the back of the shopping center. My map took me to the front and you can't see it or get to it there.

Our car club regularly visits this establishment. We often come as a large group, and the staff are very accommodating, prompt, and attentive. The restaurant is kept clean, and we love the hard-working attitude of the staff. The food is great - we're always satisfied with the quality and quantity of the meals. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes British food, or a good pub experience (they have a bar inside and a good selection of classic beers).

Sit inside or outside and enjoy the best "bar food" in the general Montford area. In fact, it's not even bar food, it's real, delicious restaurant food that you just happen to be able to order late night while enjoying a nice pint of your favorite beverage. This place is a hidden gem. I had never been here, and was pleasantly surprised. The interior is like a dark English pub. The atmosphere is good. There is a dining area without TVs and a dining area with TVs for the sports saavy person. The food is very good. I split meals with my friends, and every dish was completely different. There were beer and wine specials. I love a place with a discount. I highly recommend this place.

Dog friendly and fabulous!!! I had the quinoa for my main course and the mussels for the appetizer. My family had chicken thigh appetizer and fish and chips/Buffalo chicken wrap for their main course. Everything was AMAZING. Overpriced and not very good. My first and, probably, only visit to this establishment. Ordered the Guinness Stew and must say it was the worst I've had. Was all carrot and onion with a total of 3 pieces of beef in the stew...no bread was offered either. Still being hungry after the stew I had the apple pie which, i think, was microwaved to warm it. The center was extremely hot while the outer parts were cold.

  • Devo Davis

The only thing that bothered me was that when I stepped in the door, the smell of fried fish kicked me in the face. It doesn't smell like 'We're cooking fish', it smells like 'We've been cooking fish for 300 years and the smell's in the carpet, the upholstery, and the walls. It's penetrated the woodwork at this point'. Everybody's nice, and I had a great time, but it bothered me. It was very off-putting.

When you’re here… you’re family!!!! Do yourself a favor and stop into this family friendly authentic Irish pub. The potato pancakes are to die for!!! They also have the BEST drink specials. Their ranch is home made (and pairs SO well with the Buffalo cauliflower). When you sit at the bar you’re guaranteed to make friends that last a lifetime. I can’t say enough good things about this place!!!!

Great Irish pub! Everything you'd want from a traditional Irish pub. The interior is dark and intimate with a nice bar with a few TVs for watching sports. The outdoor area is really nice and they have live music there from time to time. The food is awesome. They have everything from traditional Shepherd's pie(with lamb!), to less traditional things like Ostrich meatloaf. Definitely recommend!

  • Christopher Murray

I loved the "hole in the wall" style atmosphere and location. However, didn't get a friendly feel from the staff. Tried a few of the novelty dishes on the menu only to be disappointed. Nachos were ok, but the meatloaf seemed to be like a paste that was squeezed out of a bag. Ended up eating only half of my plate and sent the remainder back to the kitchen. I didn't even want a to-go box.

  • Eva T

They have a patio to die for, with trees and ample tables. Their beer is mostly british, very good. Food is pub standard pretty decent. Service is a little harried at times but you get what you need with a smile. I would say a little jewel in Charlotte NC. If you are going, park in the back, its tricky to find but easy to leave after vs the big parking of the shopping center.

Nice hidden spot at park road shopping center , it's down the stairs and behind the strip mall , I liked the atmosphere and the outside seating . I had their fish and chips it wasn't the best I had but was decent enough and the wings that were good . The service was good and location was clean , will probably visit again and try more items from the menu .

Interesting Irish bar with a relatively small menu and low-key crowd. The food and drinks are relatively cheap. I would definitely recommend trying the specials. Menu includes things like Octopus meatloaf or standard fish and chips. The best way to reach the restaurant is to drive around the backside of Park Road Shopping Center near the Harris Teeter.

We come here nearly every Monday for trivia! Attentive service and a surprisingly diverse menu for a pub. Lots of veg options. The potato cakes are a must-have for an appetizer! My regular order is the fish tacos. And the Guinness chocolate pudding is yummy and rich!

The employees are very kind. Their prices are ridiculous. I ordered a Reuben with fries and the fish and chips. The fish was one large flavorless breaded white fish, absolutely not special. The fries were undercooked. The sandwich was dry and hardly noteworthy. So two meals, a sandwich and fish and chips, $33 before tip. Not worth the price.

Sir Ed’s is always great but yesterday the staff took it to new heights. I was riding bikes with my boys and needed Allen wrenches to adjust their seats. They kept bringing them out until we found the right one. Great service. Also, great food. Erin go bragh!

I loved the atmosphere. Very spot on for an authentic english pub. My only complaint was the food, not that it taste bad, but that it was luke warm. I had stew, that should not be luke warm. My fiance loves it here, so I want to try it again. Could just be an off night. They have a desert that has a Guiness creme on top, to die for!!

  • monty ridenhour

Rated it a long time ago and now would give it a 4. Don't get me wrong, still like the place. Inside service is good (outside a little inattentive at times), but was surprised at lunch this week that the portion sizes had shrunk. Still reasonable prices, but they have increased and portions are smaller. Not thrilled about that.

  • Jenn West

Food is consistently amazing, service is quick considering they were slammed for St. Paddy's.

The worst fish and chips I've ever been served. Frozen cod, undercooked, mushy batter, frozen chips and over cooked peas. You need a trip to England to see how its done! Absolutely terrible! They took it off our check, but that's not the point.

Been going for 20 years. Some if the same people still work herem Nice back-entrance, low-ceiling vibe. Patio is cool. Pretty classic English pub menu, but they also have phenomenal vegetarian chili, and wings. Lots of sandwich options too. Beer menu is good, but it's not one of those 1000 microbrew-on-tap places.

  • Lazarus Long

Always a great place for a pint and consistent food. Every now and then the food will be sub par. Overcooked chicken and under cooked sprouts, for example. Still great food, worth the price and nice portions. The staff is always friendly and attentive without hovering. One of my favorite places in Charlotte.

  • Moose Higgins

Food was good, fish and chips was great, ostrich meatloaf was okay. Service was abysmal. Trivia was great

I originally gave a poor review regarding their Shepard's Pie as it has no crust - just a scoop of mashed potatoes in the middle. I went back to give it a second go - service is great, fish and chips were very nice and the back patio area is lovely. Definitely recommend, just avoid the Shepard's Pie.

  • Amanda Lee

Tons of vegan and vegetarian options! The buffalo cauliflower was really great and not heavy or greasy at all. My tofu curry was a bit bland, but honestly so is a lot of English food in my experience, so it made it more authentic! Definitely sit outside if possible - the patio is shaded and quiet

  • Justin Anderson

Excellent pub with an amazing atmosphere and good food to boot! Had the Fish & Chips with a nice pint of English Brown Ale to really pull together the night. Sir Ed's also has a awesome outdoor patio area where you can eat and drink some nights if the weekly trivia isn't your style.

  • Jo Covington Nencetti

Love this pub that has been a staple of good food and good times in the QC for over 30 years. Used to be a regular but life and location distanced me from going. Now I'm taking music lessons at Howren, so I may become a regular again. All that mandolin playing makes a girl thirsty.

  • Chandler Perry

Great English fare! The fish and chips is fantastic, super fresh, and comes in a large portion. We ate there at lunch time and sat outside on their nice patio area. You’d never know this restaurant is in a busier shopping area. Awesome, friendly service. We will definitely be back!

  • Terry Erb

A favorite with great food, great beer, and great atmosphere. The patio is remarkable for outdoor dining and when it's rainy or too cold, inside is a traditional English pub. You can't go wrong here.

I love this place. They have a great vibe and amazing food. Get the fish and chips. You will not be disappointed. Also, there is a birthday club you can sign up for, they send funny and not annoying emails, and you get a free meal at your birthday. Great beer selection, too!

This is an authentic English Pub in the heart of Charlotte. I'm talking legit fish and chips and Guinness on tap. Even the bartender has an English accent. The interior is dated and cramped but they have an outdoor patio, too. Worth a stop in for a different experience.

When you go there, try the chicken fried chicken with the mashed potatoes and the creamed greens. This is a restaurant that I think that everybody should at least try. Great staff and great food, thank you so much Abby. You always make it so easy for us to be there.

  • Nicolas Garcia

Sir Edmond Halley's is a Charlotte staple! Food is great, great staff, and the best pint of guinness! All the petty/bad reviews come from people who just enjoy eating glue. Best place in Charlotte,NC and if you don't agree with that your opinion is obviously wrong.

  • John Sawyer

Excellent food and drink specials. They have national and craft/local beers on tap. Trivia night on Mondays is excellent, if very challenging. Lots of seating for individuals and parties. They have darts as well. Fully Irish-themed. A fine hole in the wall pub...

Been visiting Halley's for fifteen years; this is the best pub food in town, friendly staff, decent beer selection, with certainly the best atmosphere of any pub in town. Get to know Jeff, Laura, Helen, Svend, Garod, and JG, they'll treat you like family.

  • Christopher Duffy

Sir Ed's is a friendly neighborhood hangout with a cozy pub atmosphere. Excellent food and service every time I've visited. They sport a vegetarian and vegan friendly menu plus, which means nearly everyone can find a dish (or three) to fall in love with.

  • Robbi Walls

We decided to stay for trivia night and had a lot of fun! My companions cleaned their plates, so they would likely have rated Food at 5 stars. One had fish and chips, the other had ostrich meatloaf.

This place holds a special place in my heart for personal reasons. But, that's not why I come back. The food here is amazing. My wife loves the fried fish and I always get the quesadilla. Their wings and soup are great also. Would recommend 10/10

One of Charlotte's hidden jewels. Sir Ed's is a great place to take a date or meet with close friends and relax over a pint. Its a dark and smokey pub with an incredible menu and a good juke box. During the summer, the outdoor patio is great.

  • Richard Foster

I'm not sure why there are reviews about it being an "Irish" pub. Sir Edmund Halley was an Englishman, and English pubs and Irish pubs are different, though similar, animals. I certainly don't see much on the menu and nothing on the SEH

  • Eric Ennis

The worst fish and chips I've ever had. I actually had to chisel through the over-fried batter on the fish with a steak knife because it was so hard. It may have been a one-off, but it was bad enough for me to never want to go back.

  • Frank George

Very chilled atmosphere. My favorite menu items are the Buffalo Shrimp and the Jerk Chicken Nachos. I also enjoy the Fish & Chips. They also have plenty of beers to choose from and the bartenders are very good at mixing a cocktail.

  • Adriána

The place is nice, we enjoyed sitting in the calm outdoor area next to the rose bushes. The service is friendly but can be reaaally slow, it took us (my bf and I) around two hours to get 3 beers between the two of us and pay.

  • Amber Barlow

Great service! I got the chicken fried chicken and it was delicious! The menu has a variety of not so common food that I will have to try. It is tucked in the back so it was a little hard to find at first. Cool, casual vibe.

  • Stuart

American beers only a few local, they didn't even have an esb and there are a few of those brewed here. The fish and chips is ok better than anywhere else I have found in Charlotte but doesn't compare to a chippy in the UK.

  • Spencer

Didn't get to try the food. Was told I would have to cover my mouth to walk 5 feet to the table regardless of any exemptions. Plenty of other places to get the same food in Charlotte that don't discriminate against people.

  • Edward Norris

Love the food! The menu always has something for everyone which is tricky with a family who has meat eaters, vegetarians, and pescatarians. Always delicious and staff treats you like family! Good beer selection as well!

This is the Irish Pub to visit in Charlotte tucked away in a back alley. This place knows how to properly pour a Guinness and a black and tan. The only downfall to this restaurant is that they don't serve scotch eggs.

  • Praneetha Shetty

The food was really good. I loved the way they received and everything tasted so good. Good number of options for Vegan. Quinoa and veggies is my favorite. Note: Trust the google map for route..! It’s a bit confusing.
