"This place is junk"
"Great alternative to other garages"
"Convenient parking when it works"
"Attendant at the gate"
Parked here at the suggestion of the Moxy Hotel because the hotel does not have its own parking. Next morning we came out to our car window being broken and alot of things missing from our car. Anything that was visable or out in the open to indicate there was something in our car worth stealing? Nope. But it was gone just like that. The owner/manager of the garage was very unsurprised about the damage and stolen items. He stated he would call us on the 30th or 31st as it was the 29th at the time. We never got a call. I called the parking structure today (1/10) and spoke with another manager who works there. She took down a report etc. Not that she wasn't nice and helpful, but this review is to deter people from getting their cars damaged or items stolen. Its not worth it and until the owners figure out more security overnight...or some sembalence of an alternate fate to what happens now...don't do it. Park at your own risk... day or night.
This place is junk. The exit ticket machines are routinely broken, so someone has to be posted rushing back and forth trying to manually enter cards to let you out. Today, the line of cars to get out was backed up to the fourth floor. The upside was this time they had to just start letting people through for free, but if they're gonna do that, they might as well just leave the gates lifted up so that poor guy doesn't have to rush back and forth taking tickets and overriding the machine each time in each lane. It took twenty minutes to get out. Also the elevator has been making an alarm-like ringing noise non-stop for at least a week and there's no maintenance permit on display and I'm deeply concerned that with the apparent lack of maintenance throughout the garage, that thing is on its last legs and will plunge us to our deaths one of the days.
Great alternative to other garages. Our hotel only had valet, so we parked here each day. It was, at most, $22 (overnight on a weekend) and that was still far cheaper than the $50/night valet. The walk from the hotel was easy, though in early morning it can be a little sketchy. Be mindful of which entrance/exit you use- they look similar, but one side only goes down one level, and the other goes up for several levels. It's easy to get turned around. Some of the signs are confusing inside; a lot of daily parking only signs, and it seems like some of them are meant to be for both spaces. I drive a compact car but had a small SUV rental and had no trouble parking here.
Convenient parking when it works. This place has had more problems than I can count. I have seen lines of cars going up several floors while they try and hand write tickets and manually let people out one by one. The poor attendants who work there are doing the best they can, but it's obvious it's just a cash grab. Elevators out all the time, and the credit machines seem to rotate on a semi-weekly basis of being broken or not. There should be something the city can do to regulate this, because sitting in a car line for over 30 minutes is unacceptable. Find somewhere else to park, you won't regret it.
Attendant at the gate. Easy access from 4th, I was in a Ram 1500 pickup and had no issues navigating and fitting into a spot. Everything was labeled well, only no good directions to get into Pioneer Place mall. Pay at a kiosk before getting in your vehicle, quick and easy to get out. I was there 2 hours, only cost $3.60 to park, can’t beat that! You can enter the mall directly from LL1, which is great! Or go up to street level and walk across the corner. I read lots of reviews about cars being broken into; I had no issues but recommend leaving NOTHING visible in your vehicle.
Easy in and out. You get a ticket as you go in and take it with you. When you return pay at one of the pay stations on the main level or with a credit card as you exit. A display on the outside of the building shows the number of spaces still available. Reasonable rates. I paid only $3.20 for 2hours plus. Only down side is if you have a large vehicle you will find parking tight. I drive a large SUV, but was able to find a spot. It's worth walking a few blocks if you are headed for the Arlene Schnitzer theater or vicinity.
TL;DR - Don’t park in downtown Portland overnight. Ever. Parked there 09/26-09/28 and surprise… window smashed in. Nothing stolen as I wasn’t stupid enough to leave anything in my rental car. Luckily no other damage, as the perpetrator dropped the drill bit they used to break in, between the seats and lost it. Still, annoying as all hell that you can’t safely park anywhere downtown Portland. Useless security measures in this garage. Would not recommend parking here.
The price was good it was only $5 on a Saturday. I was gone for a couple hours. The problem is their pay stations both of them. Neither one them could read my debit card and my ticket got stuck in the one pay station by the elevator. The only way I got out was the lady use the key to manually lift the toll up . So in the end I didn't have to pay anything. But it was a hassle just to go through all that. They need to fix them !!!
Very convenient if you're shopping at Pioneer Place or the downtown Apple store. There's even an underground tunnel into the basement of the Pioneer Place mall. Just be warned, the parking spaces are narrow, the ramps are narrow with blind corners, security is lacking and some people choose to use the elevators and stairs as a bathroom so be in the watch for that, and hold your breath.
Mistakenly parked in this parking garage (meant to go to the one on the other side of the street) and was charged the max 2-day amount even though I was there for less than 12 hours. Will never use this facility again and the gate agent was less than helpful, and wouldn't give me a break at all. Talk about lousy customer service!
This garage is terrible. Car broken into despite being empty. Learn from my mistakes and don’t pay to park in this dumpster fire of a garage. Security was kind enough to leave a note that said ‘we see you’ve been broken into here’s how to file a police report.’ Thanks guys I should have read the reviews and gone somewhere else.
If you follow navigation it may lead you to the garage on the same street practically next door which is more expensive. So make sure you look for the smart park sign at the entrance. People like me who rarely drive into downtown may rely too much on the Google map audio providing guidance instead of trusting your intuition
We had to wait almost 30 minutes to exit the garage from the 6th floor. Yes, it was black Friday and the tree lighting but it was also after 8pm and an hour and a half after the tree lighting ceremony ended. There weren't even that many cars in the garage at that point so I am baffled as to how it could take that long.
Car broken into. Plus they damaged the car and of course went through and took everything inside even though there were zero valuables. My stuff was strewn all over the garage levels at different spots. 3 guards were on duty inside the garage and cops were parked out front and this still happened in broad daylight.
Don’t park here. Not a believer in leaving bad reviews, but I parked here and walked around in downtown for a couple hours. Returned to to smashed in window. Nothing stolen, nothing to steal, and car alarm didn’t deter it. Just want to give everyone a heads up. Next time I’ll park in the burbs and take transit.
Fast easy and convenient. Wasn't very expensive and right next to what I was looking for which was the Apple Store in this case. But it's also right next to the courthouse and a bunch of other stuff. Apparently they have several throughout town. You just pay when you're leaving the garage it works. I like it.
This parking garage is very convenient. You find a spot, park and go. When you come back, before you go back to your car you need to pay for the time that you were there at one of the kiosk in the lower levels of the garage. The top level had electric car charging stations, which is a very nice plus.
Don't park there overnight or before 8:00am or your car window will be smashed. Daily break-ins and it's located in one of the worst parts of town for homeless, drug users and mentally ill, all on the streets. The garage is fine and the staff are friendly and helpful, but the building is not secure.
Usually I don't see as many break ins as the smart park by the mall. But this morning was an entirely different story. 3 break ins. One car was full of items.... listen thieves will steal ANYTHING, doesn't matter what it is.... EMPTY OUT YOUR VEHICHLES AND PARK WITH YOUR TRUNK AGAINST THE WALL
Parking a little rustic but the views are spectacular. Look for the trail map layer in Google Maps it's really xomprwhwnsive and if you are going to explore side trails make sure to know where you are going it is a really big place. You always see groups of friendly happy people there though.
This is my favorite Smart Park because of the central access ramp. Unlike the other garages which require driving past every car on every level, here you can just move to your destination. Other garages = typical ODOT traffic flow, this Smart Park = efficient & competent, unlike ODOT
I don't often park in the garages around here but the instructions for the parking ticket were so confusing. On the elevator and wall it said one thing another said differently inside the mall. It was a confusing mess. It was convenient for getting in the mall and that was amazing.
The location that Google map directs is not Smart Park. Smart Park is above ground level while the other one is underground. We parked underground and the rate is much higher than smart park. While saying there’s evening rate it charged us the daily rate even we entered after 9pm.
It's my deepest regret parking here during my recent trip to Portland. I parked my car overnight in this garage in a spot next to the elevator and under direct light, where I thought might be safer. However, my car was broken in and all stuff in the trunk was stolen.
Everything was fine but I didn't know that I would be required to make purchases at select stores to check off my parking pass. It's frustrating when you only meant to spend a certain amount on a short trip but a parking garage seems to trick you into spending more.
Like all SmartParks, good price for short stay downtown and conveniently located, but the parking spaces are ridiculously tiny and challenging to get into even for my small Kia. I would rather go 2 blocks down to the SmartPark between Morrison & Alder
Had a good experience parking here from ~7pm to 10pm. Lot had a some traffic when entering & felt safe. No sketchy characters roaming around. Security on site was keeping a watchful eye as I was leaving. Was able to pay at the kiosk which
This is a good place to park in this area. The structure is pretty big but the internal roads are very narrow and cause traffic. I had to clear a deadlock by trying to convince some drivers to back up then wait for uphill traffic to pass.
My car has been broken into several times in this garage. They do not have any security on site and no cameras either. Take all valuables with you. Their rates are out rageous. I paid 15 for 3 hours so heads up it’s only cheap after 7pm
I would give it zero stars. Parked overnight and someone broke into my vehicle. Of course no one is responsible for the loss or damage. Portland needs to do something to guard private property against all homeless criminals.
First time I park in downtown Portland got back to my Vehicle at 3am and find out my Vehicle got broken into and they stole my phone charger and left some trash inside my car.. this garbage garage needs security
Think twice before leave your car here!!!! Elevator don’t work! Widow broken after night! Security don’t want deal with it and tried convince us to pay for parking! We need to drive around 6 hours like it now!
Almost got trapped inside due to a malfunctioning payment station late in the evening. Tried repeatedly to call customer service and no one ever answered. Had to take extraordinary measures to get my car out.
Car window was broken within 30 minutes of parking there. About 8 young guys on skateboards-I would've used my stun gun if I wasn't afraid they.would kill me. Better supervision needed. Won't park here again
Good place to park just off on prices. Wife was there Saturday morning till Sunday afternoon for 9 dollars and I was park Sunday at 12am till Sunday afternoon for 14 when the sign said 9 max but oh well
Great prices at about $1.20/hour and close parking zones for short 4 hour visits. Great location right by the pioneer square Apple store as well as others across town. Elevator close by parking spots.
There are a couple of these in downtown Portland so make sure you pin your location. Because we got lost trying to find the right one and had to walk for a while searching for the right one.
Machine would not return our card; customer service was an exercise in absurdity. All exits were blocked by customers also mired in our situation. We’re still waiting to be rescued. Help!
Good clean parking structure. Easy to get in and out of assuming you dont have a 3500 truck because the turns and parking spots are a bit small. I would use this parking structure again.
More expensive Portland parking! Paid almost $15 to park for 4 hours. Paid for parking, then visited with friends for about 10 minutes before leaving the garage. Got charged another $4!
This is my favorite Smart Park location. Always lots of available spaces and it’s easy to get out. Not to mention it’s conveniently placed to a max station, restaurants, and shopping.
It's a parking garage. ♀️ It's fine, it wouldn't be my first choice. It's narrow and there aren't many pay stations. Would avoid if you don't have a smaller vehicle …
Parked overnight with no issues. Was $19. Much less than the nines valet. Did not see any signs of homeless, but previous reviews left me uncertain. Would park here again.
They have a tunnel LL-1 that leads right into Pioneer Plaza! Its especially nice on rainy days. Not having to deal with the weather, and if you have kids? Need i say more!
Parking garage is nice but getting out is a bit of a pain when there is moderate or high traffic. The exit backs up easily. Not sure if there are multiple exits though.
Clean, well-lit, easy access. The lower floors are filled by late morning when I arrive. I park on 6 near the elevator. It is convenient for me, safe, worth it,
Portland's smart park locations are a great way to park downtown. It is one of the features of Portland that insures that our Downtown remains a vibrant place.
The price is good to park there all day but you got to take everything out of your car I've been broken into and had my catalytic converter stolen
Parked here for a day. 4 stars because it looks identical to the other parking garage around the corner and I thought my car was stolen.
Car was broken into during the daytime, parked in a clearly visible spot. No excuse for such lack of security. Not worth the risk.
Fair price lots of spaces available with easy payment. Stairs are steep but if you need to park downtown this it the place to go.
my car was broken into after I parked there just several hours overnight! I had to paid the fee although my car was damaged :)
Nice, well located garage. Reasonable rates for a downtown garage. Some stores at Pioneer Place will validate your parking.
Great option for seeing stuff downtown. We ended up going to a wedding right at pioneer square and this was a nice option.
One of the few parking garages that doesn't smell like urine in the stairwells. Great prices and always available parking!
Waited over an hour to leave only one exit open. This one should vlbe closed had no one working clearly bad management.
Smart park is always the best option for me when I go downtown. Is very low prices and conveniently placed everywhere
Great price and location but the parking is tight here and for some reason trucks park in compact slots.
Do not park here, your car will be broken into, regardless if you leave valuables in your car or not.
Doesn't say what constitutes overnight. May end up costing as much as 20 to actually park over night.
Parked here all day while going to jury duty, great price for all day parking and close to the mall.
There's always space available the higher you go up. And it's cheaper to park here than the street.
OMG great location down town! Really cheep 3 hour for 5 something on a week day afternoon! Clean!
Lousy, cards only to pay, machine will take card if inserted wrong. You might not get it back.
Great location. Tidy and well kept. Only $1.60 / hr with others just around the corner at $5!
Scummy pricing. Outside says one price, then AFTER you pull in, a 2nd HIGHER price is shown.
Great parking place and awesome pricing. Nobody stole our car or broke in. That's a bonus.
Full parking garage and no one can get out. At this rate, we could be here for hours.
The gal at the gate was very friendly and helpful. Great views from the top level!
A feeling of possibly getting mugged lol sad police dont respond to anything
Ended up parking here when I had jury duty. A little pricey, but convenient.
Just a little costly for one to two hour parking. Friendly security person!
Smoked some pot in the stairwell here and no one seemed to care that I was
Very convenient and cheap possibility to park right in the city center.
Con: Extremely small spaces, normal cars barely fit Pro: Not expensive
This is actually SmartPark, price is at 1.6 per hour. Very convenient.
Nice, can't wait til spring.and everything turns green. …
Pretty Clean, well run, easy to get in and out. Prices not bad!
Convenient place to park if you're going to Pioneer Place.
Zero security. I had my car broken into at this location.
Got the space on level 2. Great views. No Room Service.
Small spaces and normally crowded but reasonable prices
A great value and still feel comfortable parking here.
I can always find parking, and its clean and well lit.
Not sure what to rate I only parked in their facility.
Easy to find parking, pay with debit or credit. Easy.
Best place to park if you have to visit courthouse!
Got robbed here. Don't leave anything in your car.
My car didn't get broken into and I wasn't raped!
Safe and easy parking. Not to expensive either.
Lots of homeless in the park, capitalism sucks.
Charge phone at base of tree if homeless
Easy to get parking pay as you exit out
Very convenient and affordable parking.
Near metropcs Chalice Farms dispensary.
Well located for waterfront activities.
Convenient location. Not too pricey.
