Terrible experience by far! My family and I ate lunch here today (Saturday July 9th, 2022). 1st, the girl behind the cash register taking our order kept having us repeat the order even as we spoke very clear and slow. 2nd, we went to sit down at a table and one of the employees (I’m assuming) was taking a break and sitting between the only two booths that were available. We asked him if we could sit down at one of them and he seemed put out. The first table was broken and literally falling over and our food went everywhere. We moved to the other table as the employee went to get up and walk outside. As we’re sitting there we noticed ants everywhere and even on the table. Our food was finally brought to us about 15 minutes later. Shortly in to our meal my children found hair in both of their burgers, very gross! Then the girl behind the counter brought out our shakes, what a disappointment. They were only half full (literally) which whatever, not a huge deal. After not finishing our meal and just walking out (on a $60 lunch) we were enjoying the shakes until we discovered some kind of marshmallow, chewy things that were uneatable. Long story short, we would not recommend this location. As far as the other locations of Smashburger, I can’t speak to them as we have never had them before.

1 star for whoever is above management and some staff. But 5+ stars for the manager (blonde pony tail, bangs, with tattoos.) I watched this girl take walk in orders, online/pick up orders (which kept coming in non stop) , package and COOK them by HERSELF. After some of her coworkers left her alone and I’m guessing whoever is above her didn’t have a backup plan in hand or idk.. MAYBE closing for a few hours given the situation. She continued to work quickly, stayed focused, professional and with great costumer service. Not to mention the food was amazing and no mistakes. I felt so bad watching her do it all given that I’ve worked at restaurants. Even offered to cancel our order if it made it easier on her, but she said no, and got it to us quicker than I would’ve imagined. Thankfully 2 gentlemen showed up to help eventually. But it was a long while or her running the entire restaurant by HERSELF, and who knows how long it had been before we got there. I hope she gets the pay and recognition she deserves since we all know fast food places don’t pay enough for someone to work like this.. yet she did. I would also suggest for her to do something in emergency medicine, she would be amazing.

This location is a hot mess every time we go in and I am just finally writing a review. We get into the store around 7:15PM and only 2 other customers in the store while 2 team members are standing around (store was dirty had table that needed cleaning, floor swept etc.). I am giving 2 stars because I love Smashfries. 1. We were not advised when ordering that the store did not have utensils at all - we ordered Brussels Sprouts (I'd prefer to eat them with a fork) and we would have ordered something else. 2. Once we got our food, I asked for utensils and was looked at as if I was nuts and was told they don't have any and basically we had to eat them with our fingers. 3. According to Google and everywhere I look, Smashburger offers lettuce wraps, but I was advised that they do not offer lettuce wraps because the lettuce they receive is different now. 4. When it was mentioned that the soda tasted off, it was almost like we were blown off and laughed at. I wouldn't recommend this location at all due to the staff and the service that was provided.

We were in the area recently for vacation and stopped for lunch early on a Sunday afternoon. The ordering process was horrible and for being the only customers in the restaurant, the amount of time it took for us to get our order was ridiculous. The employee taking the order said he was new so I'll give him a break, but he didn't know the menu and asked another employee in the kitchen for help, but she ignored him. The fries and the salad we ordered were good, but the burger we ordered was just okay. We ordered a BBQ brisket burger they were promoting -- brisket was chewy and almost made the burger inedible. Drink machine was broken and all they had were warm bottled beverages. Public bathrooms were locked which I thought was very strange. We had never been to this chain before, and probably won't again if given the opportunity based on our experience.

I customized an order online to exclude and include toppings. When I received my order, nothing was correct. I called the store immediately and was told by the manager on site, the system mixed up the order and only 2 out of the 3 incorrect items could be replaced since it was not their fault, but the systems fault. I just spent $48 just to have my order made incorrectly and not fully replaced. How was this my fault and why was my meal not corrected? I even offered to bring the entire meal back in to be replaced and was told no. Unacceptable Smashburger. I order online from smashburger, the same thing every single time and never had this issue with the "system" capturing my order incorrectly. The manager onsite said the system printed out the order "as is" and add ketchup. Well my online receipt says otherwise. Utterly disappointed with the service and how my issue was escalated instead of resolved.

Absolutely terrible customer service. Put an order in online, showed up 15 minutes after ordering, and waited in the lobby for 35 minutes!! The manager was in the back helping cook there was only one person up front that was a little frazzled with the amount of angry people waiting for their food. It is not like everyone came in at once either, the issues seemed to stem from the online ordering. More than once people were told that "We had a big order before yours and I haven't even entered your order in yet" I had to ask twice where my food was and both times was told that they were waiting on fries so our burgers were cold by the time I walked out of there. I am an understanding person, I get that places get busy and things get hectic but as I watched the 4th person that came in behind me walk out with their food before me I was more than a little peeved.

I’ve been coming to this location for over 2 years. Typically I get the kids cheeseburger and add a couple toppings. This time we were informed by an employee that came from the back that we aren’t allowed to do that according to corporates new policy. I told her I fully understand that and if it was possible to just pay extra for the toppings and she told us we couldn’t and we had to have our burger plain. I explained to her one more time that it didn’t matter how much extra I had to pay but I would be willing to pay the toppings and the side and she said eno as well as telling our cashier that she couldn’t do that for us and walked away into the back, not coming out again during our visit. Then the manager named Nicole turned around and was telling her coworkers about the situation laughed and said “well I told her to call corporate”, very unprofessional.

Dear Sir or Madam, When I think of Smash Burger I think of fresh quality made-to-order burgers. However, what I received, were two sad cold wilted burgers. I ordered a kid's meal and a single bacon burger combo meal. The tomatoes were soggy, the lettuce was wilted, and both burger patties were completely dry. My fries were even cold. I should have been suspicious when I walked into a completely empty restaurant to receive what I thought was a "made to order meal" in less than 8 minutes. I could not even finish my meal. 20 dollars in the trash, thanks! I was highly disappointed with my Smashburger experience. Imagine going to "Five Guys" and walking out with cold burgers and fries, ridiculous! This was my first time at the South Mountain location but I've never experienced this lack of quality at any other Smash Burger. Maybe I caught them on a bad night.

02/25/2023 The service here at this location was horrible. They should really introduce better training for their employees. While placing my order I notice once of the cooks take a bite out of a hamburger and then proceeded to continue to cook the order. I mentioned to the register guy about out what I just witnessed which they immediately said she's the manager on shift. I requested the she changes her gloves before making my order. The wait became longer than usual. We noticed that a family of 5 who came in after us started receiving their meals before we did. Im not sure why if our order was place way before. Either way it was very unprofessional, unsanitary and a bit discriminatory. Said to say that I I'll not be ordering from this location again

HORRIBLE SERVICE! ABSOLUTELY, TERRIBLE! Don't waste your time, money, energy, gas money, nothing at this establishment. After waiting 30 mins for our food, the order was missing multiple items, when asked for the missing (which had already been paid for) items, Shai was rude and bothered that I would request what wasn't received. After about 7 mins, Shai brought out the missing fries, but not the missing dressing for the awful cobb salad. When I asked for the ranch a 2nd time (not extra, none was ever brought with the salad) Shai yelled back to the kitchen, and then threw the ranch on the table next to where I was sitting. Don't waste your time, you'll thank me later.

I received the absolute worst service at this location over the weekend. I had been a regular patron over the years but had been in recently due to Covid. My daughter and I went in Saturday afternoon, there were no other customers. It took a while to get our order taken but that wasn’t a big deal five minutes later another customer came in behind us then a group of three after that person. Our order was to go. Everyone that came in after received their order before we got ours. I thought because I had tenders on our order maybe that was the reason. When we finally got our food it was cold. Also, the manager that took my order glared at us the entire wait. We were made to feel uncomfortable and the service was bad. I will never step food in that location again!

Cashier complained right away that he had to come in on his day off. I ordered a bacon avocado club and the cashier even asked if they had avocado which they did and they didn't put it on the burger. I asked for the whole meal on both orders and he only made one a meal. When I asked them if I could just buy some fries for the meal one person said give me a minute and the went to do something else and then came back and when to help someone else and ignored that I was standing there waiting. There were 4 or 5 people working and service was super slow. You could tell the other customers were also visibly upset... The burgers were also overdone. I didn't even finish my burger.

Ordering was really fast but it did take a little time for them to cook the food. I did not like the mushroom burger but I do recommend the brussels sprouts they are really good. The spicy chicken tenders are not spicy either. My friend also got a milkshake, but it was like half filled in a cup. The young lady at the front was very nice although she did tell me that after dropping the brussels sprouts off that they didn’t have any plastic utensils left so she ended up just giving me a regular fork from the back which I thanked her for.

I have been to this location a few times now. Each time the same gentleman at the front register has helped me. I can’t remember his name at this moment, but he is always kind, engaging, and welcoming. I ordered the double truffle mushroom swiss burger with sweet potato fries. The food was out in less than 5 minutes and it was so hot that it burnt my tongue! That’s when you know the food is good!! Overall, the customer service was awesome, the food was good (as always!!) and kudos to you front cashier man, you’re the best! :)

I've been coming to this Smash Burger with friends and family ever since it first opened and I have never had anything close to a bad experience here. The staff here is so amazing and down to earth which makes it that much more of an enjoyable experience. The food is great and the milkshakes they make here are so damn good that I often find myself trying to persuade myself out of buying one after having stuffed my face. The music they play here, which is usually indie pop/rock during my visits, makes the vibe very chill and relaxing. Overall, this is the go-to spot whenever I'm craving a burger/something sweet.

First time Smasher. The facility was clean and the staff friendly. I heard they made a good burger so I stopped with my grandson I ordered the straight single cheeseburger, my grandson, the wings. Had a bit of a wait before we received our food. The host had warned us so when he ordered wings. All good. First of all, our lunch came to over $30. Wow! That's an expensive burger. I was sure it was going to be something. It was not. I mean it was ok, but only ok. $30 for only ok was unsatisfying. His wings? Ok. Lunch was Ok. I did buy a chocolate shake to take home to my daughter. She said it was great! There you go.

First time. Found to be on same level as a Hardies except more expensive. $7 for a single patty burger in a fast food restaurant is a bit extreme. Outdoor tables were dirty and not set up for folks to eat in. Had to carry a basket from inside so we had condiments, napkins, etc. Burger was good, but not $7 good. Staff at counter was friendly, meal took about 5 minutes before delivered in little wire basket. Think I will check this off the food bucket list.

I get it. You had an employee call in sick. You're down to two. But you're only cooking burgers and fries. It shouldn't take an hour to get a simple order of burger and fries. It wasn't that busy. Very bad today. No clean tables and trash still on them. For some reason every trash can was blocked off. The women restrooms was also closed. We went to the 24th Street & Baseline location in Phoenix and paid almost $80.00 for 4 burgers and they burgers were absolutely horrible! The Mushroom Swiss burger was one of the 4 burgers ordered and not only was it extremely greasy, I assumed they forgot the mushrooms. There were approx. 4 small pieces on the burger. The burgers all tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. The food was overall HORRIBLE! I do NOT recommend this place.

My husband and I have ordered food to-go from this location several times, and each time the order is completely wrong. Tonight was the last time we will ever eat here again. I ordered two burgers, and both were completely wrong. I added avacado to one which is $1.60 extra and did not receive it. I ordered a turkey burger on whole wheat and received a beef pattie on white. The lack of attention is appalling let alone the presentation of food. This store is shameful for the Smash burger brand.

On 4 Nov 2022 I visited Smashburger at 2415 East Baseline road, store 1400 (6:04pm). This was my first time eating at a Smashburger. The establishment was designed with an inviting atmosphere, and the staff was excellent! The 2 cook staff on duty were outstanding, as my burger was a mouthwatering masterpiece and the fries were delicious! I will definitely visit again and spread the word about the fabulous food!

Smash fries are the absolute best! I also like their California Crispy Club (bacon , avacado, lettuce, mayo) so good! It's been a while since I have gotten a piece of meat this big (see photo - was bigger than my hand by far) they never skimp out on the meat . They roll the burgers in a nice wrapper that you unroll as you eat so it doesn't create a mess which is nice too. Delicious for at every location I've been to. Go get, even it's just for the Smash Fries!

The manager is always nice but the food service required me to make this review after the second failure. They ran out of gluten free buns so they supplemented it with a 3rd raw burger Lmao. It's even funnier because they only gave me half a stack of brussel sprouts with the meal, which was ~10 brussel sprouts.. for 5 dollars.. Stingiest store I've ever been to. I'm avoiding this restaurant from now on.

Had a horrible experience. Ordered 2 burgers and fries. Bacon on the burger was way under cooked and really fatty. The burger on the other hand was WELL DONE. Really disappointing. The fries were hours old and had been under the heat lamp for a long time. It looked like they were remodeling, but just a really bad experience. I would have asked to remake the food, but it seemed like we were inconveniencing the staff and I really didn't want spit in my food.

Awesome food. Still doing the CDC spacing requirements which is nice. Had a friend who is blind who could not use the small photocopied menu and used the online order form to order his meal. Really like their smash fries. I get three large orders every time, but that's also the only thing we get. Over time we've tried their regular burgers, black bean burgers (which contain cheese in the patty btw; not vegan/lactose intolerant friendly), and the fish sandwich they had for Lent. All were really fresh and ingredients were quality, but for the price, it was quite bland. Will continue going just for fries.

There is a little bit of a wait for the food but it's so worth it, everything is made to order. The Burgers are top tier and the spicy chicken sandwich is delicious! I recommend trying the smash fries too, I love the seasoning on there! Clean establishment and friendly/helpful staff. This is one of my TOP 5 burger places in Phoenix!

I was easterly surprised. I came here three or so years before and everything was burnt or overcooked. This time I had the brisket sandwich. Soooooo great! I was worried the brisket would have big fatty chunks (I am a texture person) but it didn't. Well seasoned, good portion. The shake, though. Smh... so small for 6 dollars! 4 instead of 5 stars for that. I don't recommend getting a shake here.

This place is unfinished and should not be open. I have been waiting over 20 minutes in the store for an online order that was placed 40 minuets ago. I can hear them remaking it each time. Very very poorly run. Half of the menus are not working. Concrete dust on the floor. Etc. I can hear the staff swearing and talking about my order since there is no music etc. And I am the only one here.

Great food helpful staff but dirty Interior. It receives a lot of traffic and it shows. The floors are dirty and sticky, with food everywhere. The seats are dirty and we wipe them clean before sitting down. Looks like only the table tops are wiped periodically. If you're just taking to go it's great! There's almost always a coupon either through mail, email or on receipts.

I don't go to smashburger often, and when I do I'm reminded why I stay away. $1.60 additional charge for grilled onion on a burger and $3.29 for a small fountain drink from a broken soda fountain without any carbonation? Those things seem like things that should be pointed out before ordering. I won't return.

If you have a specific diet house maybe best to go to store if you want to eat their food, that is good most often times just this order was so incorrect except for the sides. Love these burgers! They are not very thick but still tasty. I like the egg bun they use it's so soft! It's a different spin on a burger. I'm not big on burger's but this one never disappoints when I'm craving one. Friendly service coupled with great food is always a winning combo. This location does just that! This is my fav the Buffalo blue burger.

I ordered several burgers and none were exceptional. I use to like their burgers, but the quality has declined. My mushroom Swiss burger was so dry and not seasoned. For $54 bucks for 4 burgers and some shakes is expensive. For that amount of money, I should have a better tasting burger. I won't go back, too much money for a McDonald quality burger.

I love Smashburger, this particular location didn't follow suit with the burger chain. My burger..... overcooked meat, crispy cheese and oversalted. Could have just been a bad night and may not have been the norm.....

The service was very quick and the burgers were okay. Condiments missing on everything. Order of onion straws was short, only about a third full and the rest of the cup packed with ketchup packets. Club burger with no mayo or avocado, etc. Just very careless. No reason to make this a regular spot. Can get better overpriced burgers elsewhere

Look I know some people like their burgers medium rare, but for the most part that the burgers should be served at least medium well or well done unless asked differently. In my opinion this is a health concern and could possibly cause someone to get food poisoning. I love Smashburger but this is a low for me. Very disappointing.

Updated: The last few times I've gone the young woman working the counter has been friendly and professional. My orders have also been both accurate and fresh. You can't go wrong with a turkey smash and brussel sprouts here. The seasoning hits the spot.

As we were eating we listened to him and he treated everyone super good. I am super surprised on how goo the service is. I’ve been to this location before and never got this type of service before

Food was good as always but service was lacking. Satisfactorily friendly and curtious just messed up my order 2 times. Ordered Smash Tots got regular tots, ordered Baha (formerly Arizona) Burger got Classic. They replaced the Tots so I ended up getting double tots. I didn't care enough about the burger mix up to complain.

Every time, and I mean EVERY time I get something here, they get it wrong. Give me the wrong burger, give me the wrong fries, miss a topping on my burger. Happens if you order in person or online. Never going to any Smash Burger ever again.

The lady tried to tell us that we couldn't eat and the lobby was closed when we clearly ordered food and was waiting there inside the lobby along with two other groups of people. They are still open for 45 min. Guess next time I will go somewhere else where the lobby is open. Sunday 815 pm

Food is always prepared as asked and made plus served within a timely fashion. Have great prices and is a much tastier alternative to typical fast food without too much of an increase in cost. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good burger or some great fries.

Not only is this the wrong burger completely but am I really supposed to want to eat this?? Do you get the name SMASH burger because you serve completely smashed cold burgers??? I ordered a bbq bacon burger with onion straws on a brioche bun and got this instead…

Workers need personality and perhaps smile at customers once in awhile....they are blunt and not at all friendly which effects the atmosphere in the restaurant. They are efficient but cold.

Awesome tasting burgers. The staff is knowledgeable about the food. My sweet potato fries were good, not exceptional. My wife loves the rosemary and garlic fries. Prices are on par with most fast food businesses.

Food is alright, not something impressive. The cashier was not a good expediter. Our food sat up on the counter for 4 mins before I got up and asked her for it. The price is astronomical compared to the quality.

Good burger. Lost stars because I ordered a customized Colorado burger. Paid extra for extra ingredients just for it to not have anything I wanted added at all. What’s the point? Lol
