Our family went to the school open day and my daughter loved the school immediately. So we have decided to decline Brisbane Girls Grammar school's offer and send her to Somerville House instead. We love everything we saw in the school, except for one thing: the uniform is very ugly. I believe I am not the only one raising it up. When I discussed the school with other friends, most of the comments were like: oh I know Somerville House, that school has the ugly bright green uniform! Being a private school with such high fees, I think the school should consider to have the current uniform reviewed and re-designed.

EVERY TIME I DRIVE PAST THIS SCHOOL, I GET PTSD. THIS SCHOOL PRIDES THEMSELVES IN FORCING THEIR STUDENTS TO DO THE BEST OF THE BEST FOR REPUTATIONAL REASONS, HOWEVER THEY DO NOT CONSIDER THE ACTUAL WELLBEING OF THE STUDENTS. MANY PEOPLE I KNOW WHO HAVE GONE HERE AND LEFT, CARRY EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE WITH THEM THAT MAKES THEM BELIEVE THEY HAVE TO BE THE BEST OF THE BEST. MANY PEOPLE SAY THAT THE GIRLS WHO GO HERE ARE RUDE, WHICH IS TRUE, BUT FOR THE REASON THAT THEY ARE SPOILT, AND THE SCHOOL BASICALLY SUPPORTS THIS WITHOUT REALISING. DO. NOT. GO. HERE.

My daughter loves Somerville House. She is also very proud of her green uniform. My husband and I are both in education and we know what a good school is. Yes it is expensive but well worth it. The girls at Somerville are very respectful and many of their parents work hard to pay the fees (like us). Again, it is worth it. The academic, sporting, music and service opportunities all contribute to her growing into a responsible, hard working young woman who I am so very proud of.

such horrible and corrupted school. Only send your kids here if you’re very rich and will donate thousands of dollars to the school. Rich kids at this school get a lot of privileges and they are always prioritised. The school also can’t find good teachers, and made so many amazing teachers leave by treating them badly. Don’t pay the money for such a bad school. This is not a school, they value money more than education.

Somerville House is an excellent school with responsible staff members and well-behaved students. The school campus has amazing facilities in place. The school uniforms are quite smart and tidy. The students always wear their uniforms properly with pride. The school is excellent in all ways, including academic, music, arts, and sports achievements. This school is highly recommended overall!

We moved from Sydney at Christmas & enrolled my daughter in year 6 in 2018. The head of junior school Mrs Bennett was lovely at the interview & made her feel very relaxed. She has now been at the school for 6 months & just loves it. The teachers & girls have all been very welcoming & my daughter has settled in very well. We are very happy with the decision to send her to Somerville.

Somerville House is a great school. It has amazing teachers and the best facilities. For example, the libary and tennis courts are the best. And all the teachers are really good and all of the students are allways listining in class and never talk or play games. Everyone is really friendly and accepting. I made friends really easily here!

(as a past student) accedemic pressure was through the roof. i respect schools who push students to thrive. but when i say pressure, i mean it. you aren't given the help you need unless you are a high achiever. School Spirit was good tho and i love the girls there.

I went here from Prep-2nd grade before moving. This school gave me a lot of great memories, honestly. Most of the teachers were nice, except for my 1st grade teacher, who would yell and if you messed up, she would rip your paper in front of

A truly wonderful environment, and I've lived in all states of Australia and overseas in 4 countries. This is the best school I have found, anywhere! (and I work in education, so have a good idea of what I am looking for). Thanks Somerville.

Not a school to send your child to if they have Learning difficulties. I had to move my child as this school does not support children who require support, even though they say they do. VERY disappointed.

writing this bc i saw a student from this school in public for the first time. all i gotta say is that the uniform made me do a quadruple take. i couldnt believe what i was looking at …

This school is so awesome. My experiences have left me with so many happy memories and the school provides so many great opportunities too. Thanks so much Somerville!

Dont get what you pay for. Constant teacher replacements, normally by relief teachers. Children dont receive consistent teaching. Very disappointing.

Just last week I found a whole family of rats. How lucky! So I adopted them all, and now they have a new home, in the spare locker! #freetherats

  • Zoe Hill

Really good school! Love being able to attend it. Nice girls and good education. Everyone is so nice and the teachers are really supportive.

Not a nice school full of very spoilt girls. Look at smaller girl schools and not a big money making machine like Somerville.

  • Sasha Lennon

great environment, the staff there really help with any personal issues you have including home sickness :)

  • Vesi Luva

my son began his attendance there a little over a year ago and feels very supported by his fellow peers.

  • Abel Irishura

the students are disrespectful and they don't care people walking across the street.

  • Betty Chen

Very nice and supportive students and teachers! Worth the cost of school tuition :)

My daughter loves going to school and we've been very happy with her teachers.
