Order from Sonny’s usually once a week. The last two weeks the coffee was missing from my order. When someone orders coffee from a restaurant it’s usually cuz the need coffee ‍♀️. This time I drove to the store after the delivery was delivered to my house without coffee. I brought my order with me so they could see the receipt. The gentleman working was apologetic and went to see if he could find out what was going on. As he was leaving I noticed two coffees sitting in a tray on a table and I asked if those were mine. He said he had to go check. Then, the blond woman at the bar came over, passed me the coffees and said I should check my paper. I told her I had and that I gave it to the young man. I was getting annoyed and I’m sure she could tell. She then said I meant and made a scrolling motion like I should check my phone. I told her I did but thanks. I work at a restaurant that has food delivery and I would never have treated my customers that way, especially when it was obvious one of their staff dropped the ball. This blond woman was indifferent to the fact I had to drive to her store to get the rest of my order. There was no offer of redoing the coffee that had been sitting there for 15-20 mins, she offered no apology and instead told me to check my receipt? I gave two stars because the other two staff seemed to care and the food is usually good when it arrives.

Good draft and pub fare in a relaxed, local (simple) venue. Fish & Chips are the go-to yardstick for gauging and comparing pubs of all types. Get this dish wrong and you're sunk. But get it right and you're in a pub! This food here gets a solid 4/5. Fries are crisp and tasty served HOT and fish was a good portion, tasty and flaky but moist - battered and fried to golden crispiness - served HOT! Little, tasty fresh side salad with ranch dressing (no slaw) and a nice fresh lemon wedge to top it off. Tartar sauce is homemade with a Miraxle Whip base (not mayo) so its a bit dressier - tadtes good and works well! Thos is simple pub fare done right. Not THE BEST EVER (that would be a little place in Belleville, ON) but really good and well priced! Coupled with a nice sleeve of Alexander Keith's on tap and it just about speaks for itself, right?

if you think this place is fun or cool, YOURE WRONG and you better get away from me. This place had bad vibes, the minute we walked in and everyone stared at us. Our server was really rude and kinda weird, the people in here are weird too they yell stuff and swear a lot. If you see a server with long brown hair and looks like she’s 12, TURN AROUND. We asked for food and she told us that we the group behind us were priority and that we wouldn’t get our food! like EXCUSE ME, and she wouldn’t even bring us menus. She also aggressively asked us for our ID’s then asked for them 5 minutes after we got our drinks, I could have downed my ceased by then. If Chucks is full DONT go here. Anyway Sonny’s SUCKS….major L

Great breakfast. Dropped in with my foursome before simulator golf, and all really enjoyed their meals. Eggs Benedict for one was very tasty, sauce nice and thick an flavorful. Another had an omelet and commented that it was plentiful, an very tasty. Two regular breaky of 2 eggs, toast, sausages and potatoes. All reasonably priced and full plates. Popular local spot apparently as well.

First time going there for Saturday breakfast. Was 1pm. No customer at all, few sitting at the bar drinking. Was about to leave then the server approachef me, and somehow decided to order breakfast. Here is my experience: -This place is more of bar than breakfast -On service, it was very good. Attentive. - On food, had special breakfast, . It was more like meh. Was not offered free coffee and or home made bread (as per other reviews.) - On value, 1 out of 5. Near no value. At Ikea cross the Street, for similar good, the cost is $4-$5. Total I paid including taxes, tip, almost $14 for 2 eggs scrambled, bacon n sausage, and hash brown & toast.

Absolutely disgusting, ordered a grilled cheese and home fries. When I got them the bread was soggy and the home fries Were also wet from all the condensation. It was just it was the worst breakfast ever ever had in my life and I would not suggest this for anybody. The only reason I put five stars so people can read this. You would think with everything going on that the people who are working right now and take some time and some consideration. It’s not cheap to be ordering food and then spend all his money and like pretty much not eating anything because it’s like soaked why is it soaked?

The server took our names as part of protocol, and I have no problem with that. She later used my son's name when she asked how he liked his French toast. My husband and I both thought it was above and beyond what her job requires, and appreciated the gesture. It added a truly personal touch! We already liked Sonny's as our breakfast spot, and today's service probably pinned it to the top! Please, don't ever stop pan frying your potatoes! Those crispy frites are what got us hooked in the first place! We come from Stittsville to have breakfast at your little spot.

Staff was friendly, I love to get clubhouses when going out for lunch, this one was by far the smallest meat to bread ratio I have ever come across. One of the quarters of the sandwich had no meat on it and the other 3/4 had what could have been on a single quarter. It happened to me a few years ago, just went back again recently thinking that it may be different but that particular dish seems to be the exact same. If you have car and your in the area Chances R has enough meat on one clubhouse to make six sandwiches at Sonny's, I am not exaggerating at all.

I would not recommend this restaurant. Hostess/Bartender was nice. Inside of restaurant looks runned down. I hate to think what the kitchen cleanliness looks like. Smoked meat sandwich ordered was suppose to be 6 oz according to menu. Lucky if I received 3 oz. We were handed two menus with two different prices. Charged the higher price. The web site also has a different price for the same smoked meat sandwich. I will stick to the restaurant down the road. I now see why the restaurant was practically empty. Invest some money into your business!

Sonny's at night, (notably Tuesday's and especially Sunday's), Is one of my happiest places on earth. It's like "Cheers". The atmosphere is jovial, kind, friendly, accepting, non-judgmental.. a place where everyone knows your name... 'you can dance like the barricades are down, and you can sing like no one's around.' (This is the only place where I go above and beyond with the tips.. Staff is amazing, they work like crazy and absolutely deserve the most generous tip I can give!)

The place is really outdated and the worst came from the bartender by name Nate. He paid no attention to what our order was rather he was more interested in flirting, saying silly things and making the girls with us uncomfortable the whole time. He went one step ahead by stopping one of us and asking for contact no. Pathetic! This totally disturbed us, spoiled our overall experience. He asked me to pay him a tip even after his awful behaviour,I wouldn’t even rate 1 star to the whole experience that night.

"Local" restaurant/bar with the usual regulars. Friendly and the food will not disappoint. Great selection of used books to buy with the proceeds going to children's charity.

Love the food it is home cooked greasy spoon breakfast and the portions are a good size. The only downside however is they do not answer the phone. I've ordered 5 times since July and each time it takes 3 or 4 calls before the phone is answered and this morning it was 6x and still no one picked up. I'm trying to save us both money by not using Skip the Dishes but they do not seem to care inspite of the fact I've been told to call. It is beyond frustrating.

Chose this place based on it's proximity to IKEA (its right behind the store). And had a good experience. Standard breakfast food done very well. Good portions, friendly service. Meals come with coffee/tea So my wife and I were still able to have breakfast under $30 ($40 with tip) which is always my spending target.

I love Sonny’s. It looks deceiving from the outside as to it’s size but once you enter it’s a cozy welcoming place. Their homemade bread takes the breakfast to a whole other level. We don’t go there enough but whenever we do we are never disappointed. Love that the coffee is included with basic breakfast. The potatoes were amazing! The sautéed onions on the potatoes (at a small extra cost) was DIVINE!!!! Definitely recommend it!

A hidden gem for breakfast, lunch or pizza right near Ikea in Ottawa :-) The atmosphere is friendly and Lucy is always smiling, happy and welcoming. And heck, there is even a billiards table at one end of the restaurant bar in case you are in the mood.

The service is always friendly every time we go. I can almost never finish an entire meal because the portions are a good size and price. 2 can usually dine for $25-30 on average and still go home with leftovers. I love that you can buy books here and that they go to a children's charity. My boyfriend enjoys the sports on the tv. I have never reviewed a place before but this place deserves it 100% recommend.

Lot of my co-workers eat here for breakfeast before work is open. Food is amazing and prices. I feel so full after and not hungry till the late afternoon. Place looks a bit run down but dont judge a book by its cover they say. It's nice that they have local people art and craft on the wall. Visit a second time and they remember my face. Will be back many time. Cheers! (I have not try yet the dinner menu yet)

The customer service was bad they never gave us menus and we just wanted food but the wait was over 2hrs and they were unable to give people the right food and kept forgetting people's drinks. Also two of are friends had caesar's and the size of the drinks cups were different but had to pay the same price.

I was there yesterday for breakfast and they got my order wrong twice. It's not like it was a difficult order either. I wasn't going to say anything but the server over heard me tell my mom it wasn't I ordered so she insisted on taking it back. When she brought it back it still wasn't right and it was stone cold. I'm giving 2 stars instead of one because my mom enjoyed her meal.

At first from the front door I was like...no way this is a breakfast restaurant. The doors literally look like it's a closed bar that only opens at night. But once i opened the big door there was a friendly lady there to ensure we could pick a spot to sit and it felt like a small family diner in no time. Not sure how it's run at night but for breakfast it was good. :)

Tjey baked tinfoil into my 4 year old daughter pizza she was 1 bite away from eating it b4 we caught it was in-between cheese and dough she may have eaten some we don't kno of the chef couldn't b bothered to come apologize and I had to tell the manager to void the pizza only person there worth there salt was r waitress

Those who complain about food delivery orders usually expect the same quality as a meal served in the restaurant---it's usually expecting too much!

Amazing gem in the city. First time here. Great service. Food was great. And best of all... dog friendly patio. Definitely coming back!

I usually come here for Karaoke every Tuesday and Sunday nights. Really cool place to talk with friends, people to meet and it really feels like the 80’s where they were no cell phones nothing where it was all like the 80’s. I meet some people who are now friends. Really friendly place.

No way I will return to this place, I went tho the new year eve there, when we asked for the food a fight started inside the bar, someone broke a glass in the other person's face, and the bar didn't called the police neither put the fighters out of the bar. The food is good no complains about that, but the rest was complicated that night.

Food was good, Ordered from skip the dishes and the delivery guy forgot about my coffee.. but came back a bit time later with a new one.. which I found was very kind. I tried to change my review on Skip the Dishes but was unable to. Now I feel bad cause he was very sweet and it was thoughtful of him goes by the name ZARKO. Thank you! :)

RECOMMEND!!!! Came for brunch as a last minute decision and it was awesome! Randomly asked for the wifi and the waitress went above and beyond to lend my brother a charger. The food was also on point! I was hoping for a typical delicious breakfast and it was exactly that! You won’t regret your decision to eat here!

Still one of the best eggs Benedict that I've had. The breakfast is very good, and also great kids menu. A local favorite!

Our weekly watering hole after Monday night rehearsals. Bar staff are always friendly and accommodating to our large group who often sing into the wee hours. They usually have our orders ready before we even know what we want! It's our version of Cheers, where they know all our names!

The atmosphere in this bar and grill is always welcoming and friendly to say the least and the quality of food on the menu is off the chain ! This establishment is a 5 star + and highly recommend to first timers to stop by and experience what is available at your doorstep in Ottawa.

Ordered food from here and I had to call the restaurant , that person who answered the phone would not let me talk and was very rude to me. Not to mention he put the phone down while I was talking and hung up. Worst costumer service around and won’t be ordering from here ever again.

Had a wonderful experience this evening. They let us come in to eat some birthday cake. Made me a birthday shot and were just so friendly. Only 4 stars because we didnt actually have any food. A little rough around the edges but the personality is overflowing

Men from the Capital City Chorus go here every Monday night after hour Chorus rehearsal. We have a few lovely beverages and ordered chicken wings and chips and sing until the wee hours. Our service is always great and we have a fun time.

Very friendly service but the basic breakfast which is normally 9.50-$10 is 14$ here and that's before tip so you're looking at minimum 16$ for 2 eggs, 1 meat and some potato

I would say, order anything but the steak ang eggs (cheap cut, no meat). The rest of the menu looks great, and everyone around seemed to be enjoying the food. My friend had the French toast, and it was good.

This is an ok place. They have well priced food with generous portions. The atmosphere is meh. Don't expect to impress your date here but it would be a great place to chill with some friends or talk business
