I can understand the negative reviews, sometimes it can be timing, sometimes it can the be the particular chef that serves you. Before I put my review I decided it was best to go there at least 5 times, to get a better idea of the consistency. My 5 star rating confirms precisely that. Usually at some places such as Maroush they pile you with food and I did not find that the case here. In fact it may feel short but considering I sometimes went with a starter followed by a main I found myself full and couldn't eat anymore. For those who go only for a mains might find they are not full but then again its all about the taste and quality more than stuffing your mouth all the time. The last time I went I went for two lots of Chicken Shish that came with chips and bread, that on its own was a little too much. If you know mediterranean type food normally comes with lots of bread, that on its own is too much (also came with salad). As the waitress knew I ask for two lots of Chicken Shish she in fact gave me a small discount which was nice. Do bear in mind that everytime I have gone it has been at times when it was less busy and I can tell the waiters/waitresses are still getting used to it because some of them are new and it will take a little time for them to get up to speed so have patience. When its a packed place I suppose there will be some who In summary the staff have been very good and pleasant, never found myself uncomfortable at any time. The food quality is excellent, the chicken along with the few vegetables are cooked well and just about right along with the chips presented on the same plate. They also provide sauces, goes down well with yogurt. My experience next time may change so who knows but so far so good, recommend you try it.

The reviews here all talk about the big portions, maybe that’s true if you eat in - but that makes me even more pissed off at how they rip you off if you order takeaway. I ordered a deliveroo; the prawn starter had so few prawns it was basically vegan, which was ironic because the kebab had none of the promised veg (or much meat, to be honest). It wasn’t like I hadn’t given up on that January diet weeks ago. The meal was so small I called the restaurant, who suggested the deliveroo driver had eaten it. They’d sat and picked out each prawn in the 4m drive to my house...right... It’s not every day that a restaurant rounds off ripping you off by treating you like a complete and utter moron. It would have been funny if it wasn’t such a waste of money, and I hadn’t still been so hungry by the end.....

A cosy establishment with authentic Anatolian food. The open kitchen ensures delightful smells accentuate the mouth watering sights of kebab skewers. A single order of a kebab comes with a refreshing salad, rice or bulgur, and a good portion of your meat of choice. Prices are affordable for a high street table service restaurant and staff are courteous. There's a wide variety of choice, and there's something sure to please almost every palate. Due to the small space, it can get crowded. Those who are big can find it cramped when full, so you many to visit during less busy hours. All in all, an excellent joint that I would strongly recommend if you enjoy kebabs, and even if you don't!

Favourite food place on Putney High Street. Come here regularly with mates. All the meat is extremely good, the charcoal grill does a really nice job. Very succulent and juicy. The salad is also very nice, their pickles are the best. Don’t even get me started on the sauce. Absolutely class. Overall the food is just incredible. They gave us extra bread also, which I appreciate. Eat in , eat out ,it’s all yummy. It’s hard to put in words just how special the food is, it’s simply something you just have to try to understand.

Went in for dinner on my own before heading home. Really varied menu and had the two kebab option, both lamb and chicken cooked perfectly with a nice fresh salad and well cooked rice. They gave me fresh bread and sauces on the side for free and when they took the plates away, gave me a baklava and turkish tea for free. Can't really argue with that, nice atmosphere, good service and nice music playing too. Genuinely no complaints apart from having to pay cash, which is a bit odd these days. But otherwise, have to say, a little hidden gem, thank you!

Best **authentic** Turkish in South London, possibly better than most in the North too. After decades of eating at so called Turkish restaurants I can say without a doubt I was impressed with the quality of the food as well as the variety on the menu. Usually these places are great with in their first few years, I hope this one stays good forever as the food was great. Services was quick and attentive, would have been more enjoyable if the reduced the portions (meat and rice overload) and a greater number of options in the meze platters.

As a Turkish food aficionado I can say that this is up there with the best in the country. I have it before every Fulham game and the mixed Shish is tender, succulent and very well cooked. The bread is unbelievable and the garlic and hot sauce are on point. Wash it down with an Efes all for the low price of £14. I order from here frequently, one of my favourite comfort foods. The food is always tasty, hot and the portions are good. I order the lamb shish which comes with rice, salad, flatbread and sauce, and always have extra for lunch the next day. The aubergine salad is also delicious, and so is the baklawa. I have tried other places for baklawa and it is never as fresh as it is here. Would highly recommend.

The food might be delicious but the service is very bad. The girl who waited on us today didn’t seem to know what she was doing. Couldn’t provide information about the food and had to go back and forth because she’d forgotten something. Cherry on top: took my leftovers to takeaway (because portions are indeed very big) and when I got home, surprise! Half of my leftovers were NOT in the box.

Enjoyed the food today before a football game. This is the mix and match chicken and lamb shish with rice and extra chips. They don't serve alcohol, but you can take your own in to drink.

I walked into this restaurant yesterday 10/08/2020 I ordered a mix Shish ( one chicken Shish one lamb shish) with some bulgur, took it home after couple of hours of eating I started vomiting and diarrhoea, since last night I feel like I’m in hell weak, headache, vomiting. You should be ashamed of yourself soul flame staffs if your food is old don’t sell it throw it away.

We had lamb moussaka and lamb kofte and cacik with Ali nazik as meze for lunch. It was lovely. Everything was great. Especially the 2-course lunch mune is very reasonable and delicious

Just went in to get a takeaway, asked for extra chilli and garlic sauce in the doner kebabs, as well as harissa. Was given items in a bag, paid and have come home to the driest doner kebab ever, absolutely no sauce whatsoever. Failed to add sauce to either kebabs. A dry chicken doner kebab is not what I was hoping for on an indulgent Friday evening.

Delicious and mouth watering! Highly recommend this place if you are looking for something different and new in the area. The food is fresh and cooked right then and there. You have a full plate of meat with either rice or bulgur wheat and a colourful salad. Money well spent and the staff are kind. I can't wait to return back and eat there again!!!

Very friendly owner! Good advise on beers and a good selection if you are a beginner on the beer side. Very friendly space! Again didn't take any photos but enjoyed two types of beer good crisps and chillie pork scratches. I was alone so I sat by the window and playied dominoes and jungles with my invisible opponent. It was a draw each time ;)

Soul Flame is exceptional in every respect. I have both dined in and had takeaway from this place and never ever have they under delivered. I am so glad they are so nearby and I can't wait to come back to the restaurant after restrictions. Highly recommend the chicken and lamb shish, lamb yoghurt kebab and the borek and falafel starters!

They have a really nice lamb shish. I wouldn't recommend their donner meats, but the shish is really good. Plus Ayran. Even if a bit overpriced it's worth it.

I’ve been here for the first time today, and I was really happy I did! Food did not disappoint! The staff is beyond welcoming and accommodating to my very specific needs! Expensive and very small portion , I went there for a kebab and chips no salad large portion, the man who was preparing my order gave me a box with very small amount of meat and all chips . Once I asked are you sure this is a large portion? He said yes that’s large , never again !! I paid basically for chips

I don't understand the great reviews. The rice was awful. Instead of basmati rice it was long grain which was cold and hard. So I could only eat the meat which was seasoned well but the lamb kofte wasn't cooked all the way through either. I eat a lot of Turkish food and was disappointed.

Truth be told for that money £50 meal deal, NA! I could of gone to a better Turkish place and would of got more for my money. Fried French fries is not really what you expect from “authentic” Turkish also. But credit due, open plan kitchen, you can see everything cooked, clean and tidy.

Loved our dinner there. It was also pretty quiet there on chilly autumn Saturday evening. Probably because most people eat takeaway from them. We were having calamari rings for a starter to share, then lamb mains and we even got desert! They also have Turkish beer. Highly recommended.

Superb extensive selection of Turkish food mezzas and grills. Service is top notch especially the manager (Rasool?). Their appetizers and starters were quite good. But the place is tiny and if you’re having a private conversation it can feel too close for comfort.

I do wonder how some restaurants have such high ratings. The food is a take on as Turkish kebab shop gentrified. However, food is bland and portion sizes are poor. Very expensive. Better to go to a local kebab shop and get better food for half the price.

This place is good, but it's not as great as it once was. You get free, fresh Turkish bread with salad when you have a sit down meal which is a plus but consistency and portion size has decreased over time. Staff are very friendly and hospitable.

Quality Fresh kebabs. Not your typical greasy-regret-it-in-the morning kebab that's for sure. MEat cooked fresh over coals and very tasty without the past grill taste. Additional salad items like olives rounded it off nicely.

Absolutely fantastic food and great place. I eat here all the time. The humus, falafel and lamb chops are the best anywhere. Really good value too. Just spent less than £20 per person for our delicious dinner.

Great Turkish food and ample seating if you want to eat in. The kebabs plates with bulgar wheat were great, especially the lamb Shoah, and the chicken guvec was tasty too.
