This clinic is very close to my house so I decided to try it. I needed to board my dogs while I was out of town and get one of their vaccines as well while they were there. I called several weeks in advance and asked to board my Lab. The man put me down for a drop off on Wednesday the week I was leaving- all good so far. On Thursday I called to say I still wanted to board my Lab and apologized for not making it in time for Wednesday, but wanted to know if they had room for my small dog as well as I decided not to take her with me. After trying to find me in their system, I was asked if I had the right vet clinic (remember this line as its the place's motto). After a bit later still waiting, I was concerned and said yes I definitely called this clinic on this road, I spoke with a man and he put me down. "Oh, that explains it!" What? They had room so I headed over. When I got there, I was surprised to see that the entrance had steps but no ramp. I am a wheelchair user. I sent my partner inside to ask where the accessible entrance is located, and he came back pretty quickly. He said they laughed at him and one remarked with a scoff and eye roll, "well clearly you've never been here because we don't have an accessible entrance!" In case you are unaware, an accessible entrance is required for businesses open to the public and especially a public health business like a vet clinic. I didn't have time to call around for other boarding, and the man had quoted me $25 a day for the boarding of my Lab (which is amazing) so I reluctantly boarded my dogs. While signing the paperwork, I told them that my Lab also has been having an ear flare up and may need medication but I want to know costs first. The receptionist confirmed they would call before doing anything. I asked how much a bath is, and if it would be under $200 for the bath and vaccines etc. She told me it should but again they will call first with pricing. I decided to come home early and went to pick up my dogs with a friend to help. I was told just the Lab's bill was $550. I asked why they did the bath and extras if it was that expensive and why I wasn't called with the exam findings and pricing as I was assured I would be. The man at the desk went back to find out and then came back saying he didn't know, but he's the office manager so he can discount it. First, that's not the issue. I wanted to know what the vet said beforehand and what they were doing as I had been told. (He has his ear flare up pretty regularly so I have leftover recent meds at home and didn't need new ones if I had been able to confirm I had the one the vet recommended.) Second, he's the office manager but all the other staff treat him like he doesn't know what he's doing? (That's based off of 2 phone calls and the drop off conversation). He's also not listed on the website. Thirdly, I then asked if he had made sure to change the boarding since I was picking up 2 days earlier. Spoiler: he hadn't. I was so frustrated, I paid and left. When I got home, my Lab stinks. As in, smells like poop stink. Did he even get a bath like they said? Holding my smaller dog, her face is so dirty and she has some kind of crusty stuff all in her fur and chin hair especially. It won't come out and I end up having to cut some hair and give her a bath within hours of getting home. So on top of the illegally inaccessible entrance, neither of my dogs were well cared for. Also while I was waiting for my dogs, the "are you sure you have the right vet clinic" line that I got twice (including a call when my dogs were physically there boarding!!) was given to 2 other people who came in. Spoiler: they were at the right clinic and the system just "didn't show" at first. Incompetency at its finest. I never even got to speak or see the vet on the exam she did for my Lab. TDLR: DO NOT GO HERE! I'd post the video of me pulling myself up the steps and trying to get down them but it's too big for Google to upload.

I can't say enough good things about Southside vet. I have a big baby bully breed, Rapture, that is terrified of other big dogs due to him being attacked by two other big dogs about a year and a half ago. His fear turns into him thinking that he's going to be attacked the moment he sees another big dog. He thinks he has to protect himself and immediately goes into defensive mode and wants to fight. I called several Veterinarian offices to see if they would accommodate us and allow him to either be booked while there are no other big dogs in the waiting room, then allow us to go straight back to an exam room, come through a back door, or to be able to give him a mild sedative before his appointment. None of the other offices were willing to do that. They said none of those options were possible. I asked a friend of mine, who is in rescue, for a recommendation on an office that would be willing to accommodate him. She recommended Southside Vet and I couldn't be more grateful that she did!! When I called, the receptionist immediately offered for Rapture to be brought in through their side door and placed in one of their big kennels. On the day of the appointment, she had me come in and fill out his paperwork and fully explained what was going to happen. She then had me bring him in their side door. There were other barking dogs in the other kennels but he paid no mind to them while going straight into his designated kennel. He was there for neuter and vaccinations. She called me to let me know when his surgery was finished and again when it was time to pick him up. When I picked him up, he didn't seem stressed or afraid. Just dopey from the anesthesia. The office is an older one and is small from what I could tell but the care, compassion, and understanding of our situation they provided to my boy completely outweigh all of the other updated, expansive, fancy, and expensively decorated offices. I'm now transferring all of our other furry family members to Southside vet. To the staff- you all are amazing and highly appreciated. Southside Vet will always be my recommendation to anyone that is looking for a new Veterinarian office! THANK YOU!!

Tried calling to make an appointment and was told to come in anytime. Came in twice, and both times I was told they were too busy/short staffed and to come back another time. In all three encounters I had with this place the same person would not allow me to schedule an appointment. I will say that the receptionist was "super busy" flossing his teeth while turning me away (*barf), so I guess he was technically right. Thankfully, all this led me to the University clinic down the street. They were able to get me scheduled for an appointment the very next day, and the process was just as simple as you would imagine it being.

Fist time ever having to take my pup to the vet and was a bit hesitant to what place to take him, pet shop owner on hemphill recommend the place & i couldn't of gone anywhere else better. Staff is very kind and handled my dog with the utmost care, he was very scared & they kept reassuring him the whole time. We saw Dr.Dozier which was a sweetheart & got us set with proscriptions. Prices are very reasonable only $83 and some change for the visit and meds. Will definitely be our go to vet! I'm glad our first experience at the vet was a good one

With my mother, I brought my senior dog here. The veterinarian was courteous, patient, and really concerned about her pets. She took the time to answer all of our questions, and completed everything in a timely manner. The vet tech was also excellent, being gentle and thorough in his explanations of medication. The receptionist was also quite friendly.

We've taken our dogs to Southside Veterinary Clinic twice and they've received the best care each time. Dr. Dozier is always kind and gentle with our babies and will take the time to thoroughly explain any issues she finds. The whole team is a pleasure to work with and they do a follow-up call after each visit to make sure our dogs are doing better.

I have been coming to this place for a year now and I really love it. They have always been very helpful and friendly. The wait is a bit long but it’s worth it. The doctor and her staff are so sweet. They really care about the animals and don’t over charge or just try to get your money. My Candy has always been in good hands with them.

  • Stefani Franco

I am beyond satisfied and amazed with Dr. Dozier and her staff. No other vet in the area has been able to help and treat my puppy's symptoms. She was super sweet, kind and attentive. I loved how she was willing to hear me out and express my concerns without interrupting me. I will definitely be coming here from now on!

Southside Veterinary Clinic has been my go-to for more than 10 years and has taken great care of several of my furry friends. They're so good that I have continued to choose them even after moving to the other side of Fort Worth. Definitely worth the drive, even if you aren't right in the neighborhood.

Such a great little veterinarian practice ! It’s walk in only so super easy to get in(I call ahead and ask how many patients they have). Always only charge me for what we need and noting more. The staff & dr are great. We’ve been taking our dog here for over 5 years.

  • Christy Alvarez

This clinic is a walk in, I arrived about 25 minutes before they opened and was able to be the 1st one in. Since my pup and I were new, we did have to fill out a quick form, and they took him back immediately. Thank you for your attentiveness and great service.

  • victoria

Friendly staff, always very attentive to our pets. Walk-ins start at 8am try to be there before and you won't wait long. They do close for lunch, so call ahead and confirm with the Receptionist, she is always very kind when answering any questions.

3 1/2 stars- The staff is friendly and polite. The prices were much better here. I am grateful for that. BUT, we needed help for him at like 3am. And the only place we heard was 24 hours was over double the cost of you guys. So you were not

Very friendly and great service in a timely manner! I was referred to this vet by another clinic to have my dog toe nail clipped that was causing her to limp and I must say I was so pleased with with their service and how quickly they were

  • SharkBeast

Very friendly staff and the prices are reasonable. Been taking my dog here since he was a pup. The walk-in only is both a blessing and a curse. Awesome to just swing by and get in but if you're not early you will wait for a while. Longest

  • Leticia Paredes

They were great! When I called the nice lady at the desk answered every question with patience! Once I arrived she greated me & got me checked in and when taking my payment at the end she was still every bit as kind. During the exam the

  • MML

Don’t come here. They said they close at 2 and we brought our cat at 1:10 and the African man in the front end said they don’t take animals after 12:30. Just say you close at 12:30 then. Unprofessional. He didn’t even tell the doctor.

  • Natalie Lafontaine

The doctor and staff were amazing. Prepare for 75 visit and around 200 after that. Vets are not cheap people but our fur babies need vaccines, flea, heart worm treatment and rabies shots to be healthy

  • Willow Bear

Love Dr Dozier: she is very skilled as well as compassionate. Her techs are knowledgeable and kind also. The staff person at the desk when we checked out on our last visit was especially helpful.

  • Ellie Breedlove

Staff are kind and helpful. Wait times can be long depending on when you arrive since it's first-come, first-served, but it's also more affordable than other places without being trashy.

  • jett summers

Fantastic vet..Dr. Dozzier is great with pets. We have been using them for years. I recommend that you call first since it's 'walk in' instead of appointment based.

  • Carissa Parish

I love Dr. Dozier! She is so kind and caring. I know my pets are in the best care when we need to come in for a visit. Pricing is affordable as well.

  • Diana Jones

Wonderful, capable vets at affordable prices. I have been taking my pets here for 25+ years and they never fail to provide the highest quality care.

  • Claire Clayton

This is a walk in vet, no appointments. I thought this would work in my favor, but I couldn't be more wrong.

  • Melissa Green

Dr Dozier is cool and all but its a little pricey, bravecto is $45 at tcap and $76 here, thats a bit much

  • Frank Smith

They did a great job on my buddy Rocky Ben. Gave us meds and a cream. All is better now. Thank you SSVC!
