I had an excellent experience as a first time patient at Southview Dentistry. It had been almost 10 years since I had my teeth cleaned (life happens...) I went to a different dentist last year and had such a terrible experience that I was afraid to go see another dentist. Southview Dentistry made me feel so comfortable every step of the way. I worked with Stephanie who was the hygienist who cleaned my teeth. She was amazing! She was understanding and patient with me. She answered all of my many questions and eased my fears. She was very informative and allowed me to view the pictures and x-rays (that were done in a matter of minutes). She explained what she was seeing and concerned about. Before she began the cleaning she turned on the massaging seat ... yes you heard me right... and the overhead tv. While cleaning my teeth she was gentle and patient. Unlike so many other dental visits, Stephanie was clear about what she was doing and why. She was completely upfront and answered all of my questions. When Stephanie finished, The dentist came in and confirmed what he had seen in the x-rays. He made a recommendation that was very cost effective and reasonable. I felt like he wasn't trying to nickle and dime me. Instead I felt he addressed the biggest concerns/problem areas and made suggestions for any other areas that were less concerning. The office generally does perform work unless you are able to pay for 1/2 at the time of service. I really like the fact that they are up front about their costs and what the service is for. I like that they don't just do stuff and send you a bill. I felt in control and comfortable in a clean friendly and honest space. I was so surprisingly pleased when I left that I was almost giddy. (That doesn't normally happen when you leave the dentist.) Thank you Southview Dentistry! in the famous words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, "I'll be back!"

It took me a long time to get the courage to write this review. I came to Southview Dentistry after doing extensive research and reading reviews due to my anxiety and shame around dental work and procedures. I came to Southview knowing I had a lot of work on, due to not having adequate dental care or insurance as a teenager / young adult. I had no issues with Dr Michael or any of the hygienists for over two years. After undergoing a medical emergency in 2020, I came for a routine cleaning and to continue the treatment plan we had agreed on. Since this was during the beginning of Covid, and also being my first time back in a medical office after my emergency, I had a LOT of anxiety - which I informed the front desk, and the hygienist of multiple times. After looking at my teeth, the hygienist pressed me once asking if I had an eating disorder due to the lack of enamel on my teeth. I tried explaining to her that I was working on catching up on my dental care, that I carried a lot of shame surrounding it, and that I did not have an ED. The hygienist pressed me two to three more times asking if I had an eating disorder, eventually leaving me in tears. Not to mention all of this occurred in an open environment with no privacy, with other patients being able to overhear our entire conversation. After I answered NO the first time, the questioning should have stopped. I left the office with a world of shame on my shoulders, feeling confused and belittled and haven't been back since. Not to be unnoticed, but no one reached out to me after I left the office in complete disarray. I came to this office hoping for empathy and understanding to move forward with my dental care plan. It is unfortunate, because up to this point I had felt comfortable at Southview and finding a new provider and having to re-start my care plan is daunting.

I have been going to this dentist for many years. The dentists are great and I like their hygienists. The issue there is the office manager - she is completely obnoxious. I had a routine visit, they did a procedure (x-rays) that they told me was covered under my insurance plan. I asked specifically if it was covered, and was told it was. When I left, I asked if I owed anything, they said again, "no, you're all set". Then I got a bill for that procedure. Come to find out that they had not checked my insurance plan for about 5 years, and they are a provider for my insurance. In an attempt to resolve the situation after I was transferred to the office manager I was told to either pay it or it would go to collections. The bill was received yesterday, and already had that it was past due 60 days. So I will pay the small bill ($50); but they will lose a customer and will be more than happy to tell anyone else I know about their poor customer service all due to the rude and threatening manner of their obnoxious office manager. As to comment to "fully informed" prior to the appointment - complete lip service, I asked SPECIFICALLY what was covered under my insurance and they said YES this was covered. But since I have them a bad review they have since dismissed me as a client; so it looks like they only allow good reviewers to be their patients. Regardless - their office manager is obnoxious and threatened collections within the first 2 minutes of a call with her. My advice - stay away, their patients obviously don't come first.

Southview Dentistry has been great overall! I first started visiting them a few years ago after only seeing the same hometown dentist for my entire life up to that point. I dreaded going to my old dentist as I had to take time off from work due to how long an appointment would run and even though I never truly had a bad experience, I didn't know anything better existed. I assumed going to the dentist was just one of those things you have to do, but didn't really enjoy. My first visit to Southview was like nothing I had experienced before. The team is very professional and acknowledges the fact that you're coming in on a work day so they do anything they can to accommodate you. The hygienists are very professional and knowledgeable. I enjoy the fact that they talk you through what they're doing and why. I typically see Dr. Kelly and she's great. Very personable and again, talks you through the whole process to ensure you know what her and the team are doing so that you understand why. Other little touches like the massage chairs, TV's, headphones, etc. really help create a relaxed atmosphere and those things paired with the overall professionalism and courtesy makes for a very positive patient experience. I have recommended Southview Dentistry to many of my friends living in the South End/South Charlotte area and will continue to recommend this team in the future. I've received all positive reviews from anyone I've recommended so far. Keep up the great work and see you soon!

I LOVE Southview Dentistry! I’ve been going to them for a little over three years now and I won’t go anywhere else! I was recommended to them by my sister who kept raving about her new dentists. I just had to go check it out and I’m so glad I did! Their entire staff, including Drs. Kelly and Micheal Wilson are AMAZING! I never used to get excited to get my teeth cleaned, but now I actually am. And how many people can say that? As soon as I walk in, I’m greeted by name with a friendly smile! Also, you get a free tote at your first appointment and I still use the bag daily for grocery shopping. And every Christmas, their office sends me the cutest greeting card. I look forward to getting those once a year! Another thing that stands out is that the employees truly care about you. I’ve been to other places where I felt like I was just another patient. But, there was one time where I couldn’t come to an appointment because I had caught the flu from my workplace. Normally, you’re supposed to pay a fee for not cancelling 24 hours before, but the receptionist was so sweet and understanding that she waived it and let me reschedule! If you just moved to Charlotte or are looking for a dentist to go to, please go to Southview Dentistry! I know that you’ll love it as much as I do! :)

While I am not the type to normally leave a review, I was compelled to do so after my last appointment. I had the worst dental cleaning of my life last week. The dental hygienist that provided my cleaning services was named Carly. I am unsure if she was new, but I had never worked with her before. Throughout the cleaning she poked and prodded my teeth and gums to the point that they were bleeding. She had to frequently suction the blood out of my mouth. When she flossed, the force she used caused the floss to frequently sliced into my gums to the extent that the floss was pink with my blood. There was a point where I had to ask her to pause before she could continue due to the pain. I have never experienced a cleaning like that. It was painful to open my mouth, to talk and to chew. Afterwards, I asked for a numbing gargle to ease the pain. I was told that they didn't have anything like that in the office, which I doubt. My mouth hurt for two days after and I struggled to eat for the remainder of the day after the cleaning. Prior to that appointment, my cleanings were pleasant and routine. However, this last one was absolutely terrible. Very dissapointed in the service that I received and the office's response to my complaints.

Last week, I made an urgent call to schedule an oral examination. Southview Dentistry was referred. The first available appointment was on Monday, to which I scheduled but asked if there was a cancellation to let me know and in the meantime, I'd most likely go to the E.R. After ending our call, the scheduler called back to inform the doctor would be able to see me on Friday (a week ago, today). My experience was amazing! I appreciate the care and concern everyone had for my issue... From the Scheduler, to my Hygienist to Dr. Michael - (I'm not including their names to maintain their privacy). Dr. Michael was intentional about my treatment and his expressed concern to ensure he provided the appropriate treatment was very much appreciated! As it would have it.. I had an allergic reaction to Arm & Hammer Advance White stain defense technology TOOTHPASTE! Lastly, my Hygienist was fantastic and thoughtful. I chose to have a cleaning, and she was very gentle! I LOVE Southview Dentistry! I’m super neurotic when it comes to dental work. Have had loads of it done over the years and there’s not much I’ve dreaded more. Last year I needed a new dentist and Southview Dentistry came highly recommended so I gave them a trembling try. Everyone, from the receptionist (Hi Shelbi!) who had to patiently wait for me to stop stuttering when I called to make my first appointment to each of the dental assistants to both Dr. Kelly (super nice and gentle and great shoes!) and Dr. Micheal (didn’t notice the shoes lol but super nice and gentle!) have made each trip to get the old choppers cleaned and fixed painless and even pleasant! The personal care and attention given by each member of the staff has made me (finally) willing to get my teeth cleaned twice a year and to ring them up with the first sign of tooth trouble. Grateful for you all!!!

Called ahead of time to double-check they were in network with my insurance, was told yes, so I booked an appointment. Now have a bill saying they're out of network and I have to pay out of pocket for what should have been totally covered services. Lied saying they never would have told me I was in network. I dont have a hearing problem, if that's what you had actually said when I originally called and literally gave you my insurance info, I wouldn't have booked the appointment right then with you. Shady liars. Also offered unsolicited cosmetic advice at the appt which was beyond rude. If I felt I had an issue, I'd ask. Felt like a huge money grab trying to make someone feel bad about something that really does not need to be changed.

I am new to the Charlotte area and didn't know where to begin with a new Dentist. Posted on the Nextdoor app and found out about Southview. What a wonderful experience. The office is very bright and clean, and the office staff are so professional and polite. Did I mention they are PROMPT! From check in, to service, to seeing the Dr. - I don't think I've waited more than a few minutes each visit. My cleanings have been very well done and the hygienist is gentle and kind. Both Dr. Michael and Dr. Kelly really know what they are doing and they don't try to make up unnecessary work to be done, and they slowly walk you through x-rays and hygienist notes. Highly recommended and I'll be a patient as long as they will have me.

This is the PERFECT dental office. My dentist of 25 years recently retired. After a trip to Southview Dentistry, I am glad!! Office staff explained everything they did before performing services. I had a thorough cleaning & exam, all while sitting in a massage chair, with TV, and a beautiful view of the city! Made myself another appointment, and also made my husband one, and recommended them to my daughter. I have found my "forever" dentist! UPDATE: Six years later and this is still the dental office my family goes to! We love the service and we get great, personable, service. We love "Dr. Kelly" and "Dr Mike"! We never have to wait, we are in and out, and there is plenty of easy parking. Highly recommended!

I have been going to Southview for several years now and could not recommend it more. Appointments are easy to make, the office is always fresh and clean, and the front desk staff are friendly. Due to my work schedule I usually have the 4pm appointments and they generally run very on time if not a few minutes early which is fantastic!! The hygienists and dentists (Dr Michael and Dr Kelly) all remember facts about me and ask thoughtful insights into my life which is very kind and appreciated. They all do an excellent and efficient job of cleaning and other procedures. I trust all the recommendations and suggestions they have offered. I would not hesitate to recommend coming here to anyone with dental needs!

The best dental care my family and I have ever experienced! Not only is it a warm and friendly environment with excellent customer service, it’s also the absolute best place to go for any cosmetic work you may need! Dr. Kelly is a miracle worker. She personally helped me when I had an accident, and with her vision and care she not only fixed the issue but was meticulous in making my smile the best it could be. Not only that— Dr. Kelly also found a tongue tie in our daughter when we were told she didn’t have one. We have had it corrected and she is happy and thriving! Cannot say enough good things about Southview. This is the best place to go if you want high quality dentistry for the whole family.

Amazing experience, I never want to go to another dentist! I had a ten-year-old Marilyn Bridge that broke and they took on the job of replacing the bridge. They did a fantastic job - highlights include being clear and consistent in communication and setting up appointments, very attentive and reassuring at each appointment and in explaining exactly what they were doing and overall a wonderful final experience. Dr. Kelly did a fabulous job matching the tooth to the rest of my smile. After the whitening treatment and shaping of the bridge, I am more proud of my smile than ever before. I have gone to Southview Dentistry twice in the last year (for regular checkups) and I was extremely happy with both visits. The staff is very friendly and I did not have to wait long either time. During my first visit I saw Dr. Micheal and explained to him that I had been having jaw problems for a few years--he recommended a great oral surgeon in the area and I have been happy with my treatment there (separate practice) over the last few months. During my second visit, I saw Dr. Kelly, who asked about my jaw and provided answers to all of my questions. They both are thorough, present, and very affable doctors--never have experienced better. I highly recommend Southview Dentistry.

I’ve been going to Southview Dentistry for about two years now and have had nothing but wonderful experiences. Cleanings are quick and painless, and I’ve also had filling replacements done with no issues. I did InvisAlign through Dr. Kelly, who is very knowledgeable on the product. The results were fantastic. Everyone in the office is friendly and makes you feel comfortable. People complain about the cancellation fee, but they give you enough advance notice when you have an appointment approaching that it isn’t really an issue for most people. I love this place and even just convinced my fiancé to start going to Southview.

No one likes being at the dentist longer than necessary. All the staff at Southview Dentistry are very friendly and make my yearly visit extremely quick and easy! Both Doctors here are professional, knowledgeable and relaxed, always making sure I'm taken care of. My only complaint would be that I had to reschedule a recent dentist appointment due to an SVP at my work scheduling a meeting over it, and the next appointment I could get (for a cleaning) was one option in September and the other wasn't until November. Good problem for them to have (business good) not so ideal for me, haha.

Highly recommend! I've never had a problem making or changing an appointment, and I haven't waited longer than 3 minutes once I got there. I've been going here for ~3 years and have had the same hygienist each time without asking (Victoria - she's awesome). She's always been personable and fast, think almost every time I go there I'm out within 30 minutes. The dentists are great as well, I needed to a crown replacement and it went very smoothly without any pain (which is very different from other dentists I've had). Can't go wrong here!

My wife and I have been going to Southview Dentistry shortly after they opened almost 8 years ago. I have had several dentist prior to Southview and I can honestly say they are hand down the best practice in Charlotte. I have had two root canals the last few weeks and Dr. Kelly and her staff made the experience completely painless! They are really customer focused. I've been going to Southview for the last 3 years and have had nothing but positive experiences. The office is clean & modern and they have massage chairs and TVs to watch while in the chair. Cleanings are quick and efficient and the hygienists are very friendly and knowledgeable. I've also had a few appointments for dental work with Dr. Kelly who completes procedures quickly with as little discomfort as possible (and they are done the right way!). The best dentist office experience you could hope for in Charlotte.

Seriously the best dentist practice ever. They were so friendly, make things extremely easy for you, and are so clean/organized prior to COVID and honestly have just gotten better during this time. They are the gold standard for customer service. Every cleaning has been thorough and personable with hygienists. Dr. Michael and Patricia were THE most patient humans with me during my fillings. I have severe anxiety and a very small mouth, they made sure I was okay the entire time. I 100% recommend this practice.

Best dental experience I've had. I've been with them for 2+ years now for quarterly visit cleanings, and an annual x-ray. Their staff is extremely courteous. Cleanings usually take less than an hour, and the seats are massage-enabled with TV's in view while they clean, and faint year-old pop music plays overhead. Definitely a family-oriented location. I can sometimes overhear conversations of other patients, but I'm sure they could accommodate some additional privacy if you requested.

My family and I recently moved to the area and I’m so happy to have found Southview Dentistry. They are able to meet the needs of our entire family including our seven year old which is fantastic! It’s so nice to have the entire family in the same practice. The service and care has been amazing in every regard including dental work, cleanings, billing and insurance, even down to scheduling appointments. Kelly and Micheal Wilson are both excellent dentists and have great chairside manner. Their office is beautiful, professional and equipped with the latest technology. I'm also a big fan of their cleaning technicians. They do a great job, take their time and are very careful. I ever been a patient for several years and have never left feeling like they took a razor blade to my gums... unlike experiences I've had in other offices. I highly recommend them.

I had a great experience! After reading a lot of positive reviews online, I was not disappointed. The staff, hygienists, and dentists were all very nice and easy to talk to. They explained everything as they went and left a lot of time for me to ask questions. I felt like they were making the best recommendations to keep my teeth clean and healthy long term. Jenna was the greatest, she explained every part of my X-rays and issues to me and broke it down into simple language. She also showed me on the pictures of my teeth where issues were and potential trouble spots in the future may arise. I've always had a great experience at Southview but Jenna made it the best dentist visit that I've ever had, and I despise going to the dentist!

This is a great office! I have been going to this office a little over 2 years now. Everyone I have met since being a patient is not only friendly, but very informative. They typically walk to you through what they're doing and anything specific to your teeth. The office is also VERY clean. And they have TVs for you to watch during cleanings, which makes the visit fly by!!

We'd never step foot in this office again. I've had wonderful experiences with Dr. Kelly, but Dr. Micheal has been rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. I've avoided him over the years by asking for Dr. Kelly specifically. I don't think it's worth going somewhere where I couldn't trust both of them to work on my teeth. I'd personally look elsewhere.

As a transplant to Charlotte I needed a dentist quickly. I asked around and went to Southview. I couldn't be happier to picked them. The hygienists are great, as is Dr. Mike. Dr. Mike and Dr. Kelly are fantastic, as is the entire Southview staff. I was referred there by a friend years ago and am so happy they are my dentist. Half my office, several of my friends and my husband all go there as well and love it. They are friendly, efficient, never make you wait, and make you feel like family.

I am always impressed with how quickly I am seen, with very minimal time spent in the waiting room. Not something I can say about many other providers! I would highly recommend to others (and have)!

Same problem as A Martin from 7 months ago. Wasted time scheduling appointments and filling out paperwork, to only find out I am out of network. Despite 100% coverage of out of network , they require a very dumb $50 xray that seems to be different then other industry standard xrays that dentists use.
