As much as I love this library and i cherish my 17 years of memories at this building i must say that the government and the council do not care for the people in sparkhill. There is no development, the park looks dead and full of junkies and this amazing building looks old and outdated, there used to be all kinds of activities at this library when I was growing up but as I go to this library with my kids now it feels like that this building is open just for the sake of it being open. Please fund this amazing historical building and preserve it for the next generation.

The library has a large collection of books, including ones in urdu, hindi and gujarati as well! The children's section is fun too. It is in dire need of some repairs, however, the ambience is not as good as I'd hoped. The architecture seems to be crumbling. But that doesn't take away from the library experience, which was lovely. Staff is friendly and helpful, and there are two machines to borrow books which makes the process smooth. Will be visiting again and again.

The staff there are so rude and there two ladies on the desk they seen me and carried on talking and then i had to say im been waiting for 5min and when the i made a card she was so rude with attitude. 2nd time i went she said to me come anytime before 5 to get something scanned and when I went the next she said i said 4. She lied to my face. And then starting talking rudely.

This library legit looks the exact same it did 20 years ago when I was a little child. Where is the funding for this place? It looks so outdated; as I was going up the lift I felt like I was in a council estate - it's not hard to comprehend why the children within our area don't like reading when we have local facilities that belong in the early 90's.

I’ve read some reviews and didn’t feel like going to the library but when I went today I’ve got to say that the staff were amazing and so friendly , well dressed and well spoken I did tell them what I’ve read about the premises they were also shocked about the fact how people chat so much breeze. 5 stars just for the staff.

A very poorly looking library run by its shabby looking staff. The opening hours are appalling; the facilities are in a bad way like it has paint coming of its wall; uncomfortable seats; outdated computers and no toilet facilities for members of the public to use.

Sincerely hope that helps the team... they need change the kids area wall it's with Winter season and we already enter in Spring. Maybe have some workshops for toddlers and kids will be fun. Also will be so nice if the space looks more clean, fresh and organised.

Library has a vast range of children's books, from little board books to books to help them with their reading/phonics right through to their teenage years! Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Why is it always closed? Even when it says it's opened, it's shut and I end up losing reservations. The opening hours are measly and it spends more time shut than available to the pub bloc.

On a walking distance from my place .Quite good range of books. But i didn't see much change in kids section .Nearly same books every time .And we normally visit after 2-3 months.

Nice local library, friendly staff and good selection of books. Would be nice if they can arrange childrens evening events to keep the local children and adults involved.
