Prices have shot up and I question if the time displayed is accurate. I'll try and time it with a stop watch next time. Half the bays were out of service, change machine out of service (duct tape across the coin and bill slots) and most of the vacuums were also down. Used to be a great car wash but recently it seems the owner could careless by the state of repair of the place. Also not great at night with a bunch of people all hanging around not washing their cars or anything, just chilling and doing the occasional burn out when they leave at high rates of speed. Disappointed and won't be back for a while to see if things improve or ownership changes. ***EDIT*** Dropping rating as there has been a serious lack of concern for safety of others after dark. Place has been a hang out spot for years and has had a few shootings, fights, etc after dark. I would avoid this place after the sun sets. There's a reason people with no good intentions feel it's a good place to hang out after dark for hours on end. Lot is full at night but no one washing their cars. Owner does nothing to deter this.

Using the Splash 'n Dash on Bank Street South is like driving stick instead of automatic. Why slump in the driver's seat while robot sprinklers steal your show? For five bucks, you can be in charge. The Dash offers two tools - a flamethrower-style hose, and a foam brush. Pay with card or cash, then chose your cleaning action on the rotary dial. A tip for the brush: rinse the car first to avoid scratching the paint. For the the hose, just dial up soap, squeeze the trigger and circle the car in attack mode. Then switch to rinse and keep circling till time runs out (minimum 5 minutes). Waterproof shoes recommended. In cold weather, open and close your windows a few times after washing to keep them from freezing up. Now check out your shiny car. Doesn't that feel good? You're not a toy - you're an action figure.

Honestly terrible, $5 minimum to start and gives you 4 and a half mins to start using the pressure washer then ask for a $1 on top for every minute. But most of the equipment takes 1/2 a min to start and switch between them. I like to take a minute inbetween, for the soap and cleaners to settle before I have to wash it off and generally take my time, Should be $1 per 1 min. Car was still dirty after 5 mins of washing it because none of the soap had any time to settle and remove the dirt. You are going to be spending alot more than $5 dollars to get your car cleaned. Would not recommend, just go to a gas station carwash for better cleaning, less time spent and basically similar cost.

After a recent 're-visit' they seem to have worked out the timings on their 'tap-to pay' system and have just installed new, more comfortable wash-wand grip-triggers. Good pressure for a good clean, however it's almost pointless for about have of the bays have large pot holes right as you drive in or out of the bay, that are full of water/mud. Parking lot is very dusty and lots of gravel from last winter, which isn't the best environment to wipe down your car. Also, there was only ONE drug deal during my 20m visit... (I've seen so many at this location previously)

I don’t recommend this place at all. Was in the area of town usually I go to Suds on Merivale and the one in Bells Corners, came by here at splash and dash and no soap came out of the soap wash, took 2 minutes almost to get just a bit of soap out of the brush. Brush was dirty and done for and seemed like it was going to cause more scratches then anything. The bay was also disgusting and it was middle of the day, loud music from people hanging around and people hogging the bays hand drying their cars.

As DIY car washes go this one is the worst I’ve seen in a while. Brushes need replacement, line runs are too long so switching is tediously slow. For example, switching from soap to rinse take 20seconds for soap to leave lines. Brush took 20 seconds to start foaming. Going through 7 available options would result in 3 minutes lost. Poor value. Mr. Suds on Merivale south of Hunt Club is a far better value with superior equipment and shorter tubing runs. They also have discounted prices after 9pm.

I used engine bay and exterior detailing services this morning. The individuals working on it seemed unfamiliar with the job requirements. The engine bay isn't thoroughly clean; they simply sprayed and washed the surface. The exterior was soaped and wiped, but it still had dirt on it when I returned home. I spent $100 and am completely dissatisfied. It's even worse than if I had done it myself. I do not recommend using the detailing services at this facility.

I've been to many car wash places and after years of looking for the closest thing to a perfectly ran and organized hand wash facility, I've found the ONE. Splash and Dash has never disappointed every time I've gone there. The bays are clean the coin machines are always working properly. If you're looking for a very decent place to clean your vehicle come to the BEST PLACE in OTTAWA, come to SPLASH and DASH. You won't lose your time or your money.

Stay away, this is a hang out for drug dealers. Went by around 9:30pm to wash my car and all bays had 2 cars in them (obviously they were not washing their cars and another 6-10 cars park in front of the bays. All guys in late teens/early twenties outside of their cars (none washing their cars) They certainly were not there to help wash my car. A total embarrassment and just stay away... unless of course you are looking for a hit or to get shot!!

This place seems to be taken over by the Detail my Ride. There’s only 3 bays available since they’ve started here & there so many people hanging around & on a few occasions I’ve seen some employees walk over where the benches are to smoke a joint. I know it’s legal but I wouldn’t trust anyone stoned to work on my car. I’ve been coming here for 4 years but I think it’s time to find another place. Too bad because it’s close to where I live!!

Cheaper than a car wash but can't clean your car as well. If there was an option to just pay a minimum 1 dollar per minute it would be better. So i could have time to let the soap soak and use my own wash sponge. Also no drying so you have to do that yourself or you may have streaks and spotting. Update- Car somehow managed to look dirtier afterwards. It was fun but won't waste my time and money here again.

  • Dave Sabourin

This place is a scam, Put $20 in the coin machine only got back $18, tried to call the owner about it and surprise surprise his mailbox is full. The machine will only toonies not loonies forcing you to $2s, i used the foam brush and the soap was almost nonexistent. You can tell that this is a business that is no longer cared for and it’s on its way down. Use the one on Merriville so much better!

It's ok. The good, takes tap payment with cards, pretty good pressure and selection of cleaning options. The bad, almost a minute of time went by before the hose pressurized and started spraying. Changing to different settings for soap, foaming brush, wax etc takes time which wastes money and the coin operated dispenser for cleaning products took my money without providing me an item.

  • Mostafa Al-shamaa

Prices are high for what is offered Bad quality soap They do not accept cash payments as it was before, only via Visa and Master Most of the washing places are closed, and only two are working For more than two years, I have been using this place to wash my car. It was much better than it is now I'll be washing my vehicle at other locations

  • Omair

Great for self car cleaning, has decent amount of spots for cars. Includes a vacuum cleaning system as well EDIT: Dropping rating due to lack of cleanliness in this place, price increase yet not improved the towel machine didn’t give a towel after putting money in it, coins didn’t return. No daytime staff, look elsewhere for self car wash.

  • Adam Bouchard

Not really lots of pressure, good for light cleaning. Not great value either time runs out rather quickly I spent 15 bucks to do a half decent job, on a motor bike Also not very good lighting. You cant see squat in the bay. I'm giving 3 stars only because of the fact you can use your debit and use the tap feature.

  • Rashid Maani

Needed to use the brush to get the bugs off the front end, waited almost 90 seconds but still no soap, by the time brush got a bit of foam, too much time passed, couldn't do the whole car, had to redeposit money. Called and left a message for the staff to call me but never heard back. Disappointing.

  • Fsbq

Amazing car wash has everything u need many soap options for your wash from pre-soaks to waxes but the brush foam Despenser takes a while to despense and it's weak other than that they have old product despensers that don't tell your when they are empty and so I lost 4$ today on 2 towels despensers

  • Srinivas Bulusu

4.5 minutes for $5 ... You have to be real quick! Worn and beat up foam brushes(might scratch you car) and spray. That tiny section of foam you didn't get to rinse will need another $5 to restart. The experience will leave you wondering "Why didn't I go to an automatic wash in the first place! "

  • kenny powers

This by far the best Do-it-yourself car wash in the area!! The customer service was exceptional the manager helped me figure out how to use the machine. Powerful vacuum cleaners. The fact that they take credit card also deserves recognition . Will def be back :)

  • Rob Wilson

7.50 and the soap with pressure wash didn't clean dirt film on my lower doors. I had concentrated most of my time on there as it was dirty rest of truck was fine. After it started to dry off I seen it had cleaned very little. Not impressed!!

  • Gla Diator

Really not worth it $4 for 4 minutes! Very expensive. $1 for additional minutes. And you have wash clean and foam within these four minutes! Foam brush extremely dirty even after washed. Dont go there

  • Sage TLA

There's no "set" line. People generally line up in front of the bay they want. Having a "set" line that's applied to all bays ensure that it is first come first server in prompt order.

  • Ashwaq Abdul-Ridha

My car was brand new! Service was great. I was offered a drop off ride, and they even brought my car to my place. Yousef was awesome. An excellent place to detail your ride indeed.

  • Eric Semph

Coin machine gave less change. Called the number and he said he would fix the problem. When I called back, after never got back to, he just hung up on me. Now he won't answer.

  • Timothy Daum

Good car wash spot. They have tap so you don't need to bring cash. Bays are clean and there is a great little food truck space to grab food. Best one that I have found in town

  • Jimmy

Good place to wash your vehicle all year round. Unfortunately in the cold weather not all wash bays are functioning. Convenience to use Cash or tap your credit or debit card.

  • Howard Han

Good car wash. Reasonably priced Nd has excellent water pressure. The water isn't the hottest but it will get your car clean. The bays are well maintained and plentiful.

  • Zoya B.R

Some machine not working. I put money and it wasn't responding. I was looking for phone numbers to call.I didn't find any numbers. I lost my $4 . Go somewhere else.

  • Eric Parent

Favorite self serve car wash in town. Inexpensive, well equipped, and even has NFC (tap) payment in each bay. They also have many bays so lineups are very rare.

  • Jrod macolicious

Always a great spot to stop and wash the vehicle they have lots of soap in their brushes and you can always guarantee that you will be pleased at this self wash

  • Yasa Akoiy

I’ve never seen a car wash charging $5.25 to start That is insane. There is little to no soap, little to no wax, you only get like 4:30 for the $5.25. Pathetic.

  • Chris Sal

I’ve never seen a car wash charging so much, $5.25 to start!! That is INSANE!!!! There is little to no soap, little to no wax, you only get like 4:30 for the

  • pǝɯɐɥoɯ

Might seem like a good idea at first but if you really want to get your car cleaned properly you will probably pay way more then you should for a car wash.

  • Ty Harry

Nothing special.Foam brush gave me small scratches, hopefully I can buff them out. 1$/min isn't the best thing but it's cheaper then drive thru wash..

  • Kristen Smith

Easy, inexpensive & convenient way to wash the automobile. Just swipe to pay, then follow the steps. Gotta work fast or skip the wax!

  • Matt M

Honestly, the prices are a bit high for what's offered. $20 to have enough time to quickly wet up, quickly scrub and quickly rinse,

  • John James

Right. So, what I'm getting is just pay the $20 and do a drive thru. From some of the comments it would appear to be comparable.

  • Mark Liang

Reasonable prices and you can tap with your credit card to pay. It's minimum $5 to start. Clever. Toronto should do the same.

  • Weather Man

5 bucks for 4 minutes seems like a lot, but I had enough time to wax it and everything for 6 dollars. 10/10 will use again

  • Faouzi Benchernine

I lost. My money for nothing there, some of the cleaning features are not available such as soap broom, and wax. …

  • Ush Dia

Great place, fair prices. I feel the machines definitely need an upgrade though. Tap on the vacuums would be great too!

  • Michael Douglas Cake

I use this car wash on a regular basis. Property is kept clean, machines work great. Vacuums are strong.

  • Shawn Tremblay

Half the bays are out of service and the change machine is also not working so no wash for me today.

  • Andre Mathurin

Problem with the brush. Everything else was great. Clean and nice large bays to clean car in.

  • KS Buffett

It is what it says it is. Get a clean looking ride each time I visit so I can't complain

  • Roman Yakovenko

Good facility, had no problem to wash my car. Has tap for credit card, very convenient

  • Gregory B

$5 minimum is a bit much if you just want a quick rinse off…

  • Barton Breen

Clean, the equipment is maintained. Reasonable price.

  • Me
