I rarely to never give one star reviews but my last experience with this particular store was ridiculously frustrating. We regularly shop at sportchek closer to where we live and never had bad customer service as this. I visited last weekend and my toddler picked out a bike as a gift. We were browsing the store for clothing and footwear items but I found some areas quite messy. The employees seem to really not want to be there, aside from 2 Male employees in the footwear section who were actually helpful. Others were talking or laughing loudly. I took the kids bike up to cash and might as well have walked out with it as the cashier didnt even notice that I hadn't paid for it and proceeded to take off security tags and send me on my way. Apparently I needed a work order for a tricycle so I went to the service centre at the back of the store....The service centre on the other hand is a bloody disaster. The 3 employees who were there couldn't seem to prioritize which customers to look after first and at one point all proceeded to help the same customer when there were another 3/4 of us waiting in line. They don't even acknowledge you. I waited for 20 mins to be acknowledged and then be told I'd need to wait again to have the bike looked at. Understandable, but there were no brakes or speed controls to check. The work order for this bike would've taken all of 5 MINUTES! It's a toddler bike for God's sake. Moreover, the other 2 employees disappeared leaving that employee single handedly helping 3 of us at once. There is no structure or policy to how the centre runs, and its incredibly disorganized. I didnt bother and ended up not making a purchase at all. Waste of my time and I wouldn't return to this location. For a store that was not busy, they could've done a lot better.

I have been to this store lots of times and have to say that’s it’s the best store, they have such great customer service. I recently went to go buy a jump rope and it was one of the best experiences I had, Hiam and Zoe both help me find the jump rope I need. Hiam and Zoe gave all the information I needed to make the right purchase such as the size and which jump rope I should get for because there were two different jump rope. Hiam also help me look for a gift for my dad and gave me good ideas on what I should get him. If your looking for one of the best customers service go to Hiam or Zoe, they are one of the best workers I seen and very friendly. Another great experience I had is when I went to sport chek to get a speaker, I had the manager help me choose the right speaker for me and gave all the information I needed to make the right purchase. I don’t remember the manger name but he is also friendly and will give you the best customer services. If your ever near by this sport chek you should stop by

My newly bought mountain bike’s front disc brakes doesn’t brake properly (loose) when I tried riding it after assembling it at my house. Didnt want to touch it because it is complicated. There’s a free assembly by sportchek for newly bought mountain bikes. Went to their store and said that I have to pay $30 for my BRAND NEW bike to tune it. Seriously, I have to pay $30 for my brand new bike just because the front disc brake isnt working properly, which is not my fault, that’s nuts. They also told me my 1 year warranty’s voided since I assembled the bike at home. They did not tell me about that when I ordered the bike at this store. I tried finding the warranty at the website and it’s also not there. The website made it also seem easy to assemble the bike by yourself. Nevermind the warranty, but paying to service a brand new bike with less than 1km on road? That’s crazy, will never go back to this store. Time to find and support local bike shops around the area

Bad customer service and system …I received an email that my ordered bike was dropped off at the store then I received another email that my bike is ready to be picked up and I have 7 days to pick it up…and I was on my way to pick it up and suddenly I received a call from Sport Check saying that we received your order and we are working on it and we will let you know once it is ready for pickup and this might take sometime…I was surprised and I told her how come I received an email telling me that your bike is ready to be picked up and based on that I am on my way to pick it up ..Was the email sent to me by mistake?she started arguing and saying that it is not mistake and how the system works…I told her your system is misleading and confusing and she kept arguing and didn’t apologize for their mistakes…I think they are not honest and that is why they have bad ratings…try not to buy from them in the future

Visited store on Sunday, November 24th, around 12:30pm. Needed the bindings to be adjusted at their Service Shop. Waited with another customer for 10 minutes and went to the front to ask if they could send someone. 2 "service" men arrived immediately; one disappeared in the back, the other one did NOT acknowledge our presence. He immediately sat on the chair at front, bent his head as he was looking at something on the floor. I am positive he was pretending to do something. We were talking with another customer about customer service in Canada. After being ignored for at least 12-15 minutes, we left. The other customer stayed. What kind of service is this? We have spent thousands of dollars in this store because we ski, skate and ride bikes. Never ever again. What a shame. Zero stars.

Worst customer service ever! I was in looking for new shoes, when I asked the sales rep for a different size he handed it off to another coworker who then just stood around watching the paint dry or talking to people he knew. I waited over 10 minutes Before getting up to leave. That’s when the original sales rep approached me and asked me how things were. I answered “ I don’t know because no one helped me with the shoes I asked for”, and he then pointed to his coworker and said, “sorry, he’s just standing there.” I replied to him, it was the worst service ever and a loss of a good sale. Buddy, the worst part of this was the original sales rep handed off the job and then didn’t take ownership for not following through with any of it!

I cannot recommend enough to not come to this store. We came in on a Sunday morning to try on shoes that online said we’re available in Heartland, and couldn’t get any help finding inventory. There were two employees hanging out in the back, sipping drinks and visible to us while we waited. After 15 minutes, we wandered around to see if there was anyone else who could help and could only find someone at the cash register. When we asked, the woman shrugged and advised we just had to wait. After 35 minutes, and not being able to find what we needed, we left. There was very limited inventory in store, and coupled with an unhelpful staff, it’s not a spot I would recommend.

If you order online and it's ready for pickup then for some reason you want to return back this item without pickup. The only way is to go store and return it. They charge credit card on items which is NOT picked up. Never see any other store does that. Be aware and careful when order online. The customer service person is rude when I visited store. I called them first they said I can return it if I come to store and pickup and return to different counter. When I went there they cannot do anything since pickup timeline is over I said why haven't said same thing on phone? They didn't have any answer, still my CC charged amount is not return yet. So disappointed!

Do not buy a bike from here... Just head to the Square One location and get it there...thank me later! Service here is a hit or miss... Had a guy just disappear when asked for help. Another older staff, who I would have thought was the bike manager lacked the courtesy and attitude that managers should have, clearly did not care if we purchased a bike or not...The second guy called in was exceptional... He straight up told us to head to square one first to check out the selection. Always wondered how Sports check evaluate store and manager performance... It's definitely not by total store sales.

Great skate sharpening. Been awhile since my skates were sharpened. I Used to get it done at National Sports but they are closed now so I thought I give Sports chek a try. I asked the young technician, ( Lane ) for a 1/2" hollow and he did an amazing job. I'm very picky about my edges and have had more than my share of bad sharpenings between my kids and I over the years at different places. What a pleasant surprise. The hollow had light passes through it and was smooth and perfectly centered. The edges were sharp and dressed just right. Will definitly return for sharpening again.

I purchased a Nike air 270 from the store and they broke within three months. When I checked with them, they were not able to do anything even though I had the credit card transaction details, which had the store details on it. it clearly shows it’s purchased from there but they couldn’t help. Please keep the receipt safe , and not sure how a $235 Nike shoe would get damaged in 3 months. One off Bad quality!!?? Or is it really Nike??? Please be careful and keep your receipts. I will write an email to their store management.

We waited 20 minutes for someone at the Service Repair counter. I walked around the store after waiting the first 10 minutes to ask for assistance, they were paged. I walked around the store a second time after waiting another 10 minutes and I found both employees at the watch section. They were unaware that we had been waiting for 20 minutes and that there was another person waiting behind us. The people were friendly when we finally spoke to them, but the bike technician did not do a thorough job.

What amazing customer service experience in sports chek heartland. Just bought a pair of DC shoes. So basically, the right shoe had a little dirt spot. So I asked one of the associates, can he use something to wipe that spot off. That spot was probably there due to customers trying it out. The associate gave me an additional 20% off on the already friends and family sale of 25%. How cool is that! Customer service experience like that is hard to find. Hats off to the associates.

Went in the other day and I’m an avid sport chek shopper normally I cruise and get what I need. This time however I had the help of Tanner. He actually isn’t in a red shirt he works the skate counter but he knew his sh*¥. He was so helpful and made recommendations I didn’t even think of. This chek isn’t as big as say square one BUT the service here by Tanner was bar none! With customer service beyond dead Tanner definitely saved a little bit of my faith in retail!

One of the worst customer service. I was waiting by the kids shoe section for about 10 minutes but none of the associates bothered to ask if I needed help. I had to ask the cashier to send me someone to help. Even then the asssociate seemed as if someone was forcing him to work there. To top it off .. the washroom was disgustingly very dirty. My little girl couldnt even use it. So I don't know why they have it even locked. I wont be returning there.

Just had an ok experience. Not sure how I feel about this location turning into a self-serve shoe section where all the product is on the floor and so there is no need to ask for help. I feel as though the workers are now just moving around not really doing much. Went there looking for winter footwear - product did not work for my needs (orthotics and lifts) but I'm sure other customers without the extras can find something for all seasons.

Just wanted to share my recent visit today at the Britannia store. I was greeted with warm welcomes and assistant by no less than three staff members. Tammy was particular helpful who was not only very generous and patience with her time in answering my questions but was also very knowledgeable but the product and offering suggestions in what would best suit my needs. Thank you again for the great customer experience.

Customer service here is very poor and some employees are a bit racist. I was waiting in line for the cashier and there was two people behind the counter and 1 cashing people out. After the woman was finished with the first customer she did not acknowledge me.. so then the man proceeded to cash me out 2 minutes later. I felt like I was being ignored when I came to the store to obviously purchase merchandise.

She did not even say sorry. I put on my clothes and went out. But she’s not there anymore. I want to file a complaint for this. The lady is not really sorry for what she did. I went in to do a complex exchange - an item that was purchased just less than a year ago but still under warranty by the manufacturer. The entire team of here went above and beyond to ensure I was satisfied, and they were extremely patient. They truly went the extra mile. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The staff purposely ignore customers. I called and was placed on hold, No one returned. I called again and again placed on hold for over 15mins and no one returned. I went into the store and asked for a snowboard boot size and the gentleman went to the back and never returned.

Good location, super big and plenty of parking lot. All what you need for any sport, sports gear and sports apparel. I usually get shoes from there. Too many options and they’re good buys when you’re on sale! Highly recommended. They have service shop too and self serve in store pickup for your online purchases.

This store is hardly deserving of one star. This store seems to be understaffed during the busiest times and the lineups on the weekend are extremely long. On October 2nd, I waited in line from 3:30-4:05! This is unacceptable. Only 3 cashiers open for approximately 35 people in line. Do better Sportchek.
