My first time at the church for an event and it's a jewel which has shone brightly without me. I saw the old Sophocles play reimagined for our time. It's called "Antigone In Fergusen" which alludes to the death of Michael Brown in Missouri. To say it was good would be a gross understatement. It was so good that after seeing & experiencing on Friday I had to back on Saturday for a reality check. The chorus was soaring and the acting ranging from an e18-year-old superb Antigone to a masterful Creon played by Chris Noth along with Jumaane Williams on Friday night was stupendous. To top it off it is free. The shows run action from Tuesday to Saturday with a 20miles matinee. DO NOT MISS this show or the heart wrenching conversation afterwards. It was the best 2.5 hours if theater I've ever seen.

AWESOME Candlelight string quartet experience though staff doesn't necessarily confirm if people are sitting at their proper seat placements at the balcony level. If I purchased seat C and decided to sit at seat A, that would be an issue. There were also several times when people took photos with flash. Staff should also enforce this as it was mentioned multiple times before the performance. It was an inconvenience to the performers and to those trying to enjoy the performance. If there is no strong enforcement of the rule, people will feel free to break it at the expense of others enjoyment.

Stunning building. Wonderfully maintained, ornamental, yet historically significant structure has retained its historical detail, charm and significance. Find space in the balcony and enjoy the depth of the details and acoustics of the space. If you get the chance to wander the back hallways, do it. Take in a concert if possible, the acoustics are surprisingly good.

Attended Beyoncé Candelight string quartet concert. The space, as expected, was phenomenal. Nothing beats the acoustics of an old church when it comes to classical instruments. It's a beautiful space. There was also something heart-warming about a traditional religious institution being gently welcoming just by making its space available for such an event.

I don't know if the church does regular theater performances but we saw the Brooklyn public library supportedshow "Antigone in Ferguson" and absolutely loved it. This gorgeous church is the perfect setting for the show. The choir was outstanding! The musical direction was stellar! The story is a classic but it was very interesting to have an opportunity as an audience member to share my experience of the show. Don't miss the show I think it's on until June 13th!

Great experience at the Candlelight event listening to the Highline String Quartet play their Taylor Swift set. The venue was decorated beautifully, and the Candlelight staff were great. Recommend getting in early to sit as far to the front of your section as possible. In sections A and B on the 1st floor, each row on each side of the aisle sits 8 people with a short divider between each 4. The better view would be from the 2nd floor balcony up front.

Beautiful acoustics as I watched and listened to the orchestra in concert. I love old structures. St Ann's is one of Brooklyn's oldest churches. For decades, it's been used for the arts in Brooklyn Heights. One can hear the creaking of the floorboards as you walk through the sanctuary and as you climb up the stairs to the balcony. It's truly a gem in Brooklyn Heights.

Good venue for the play, "Antigone In Ferguson." I was lucky to have an up front seat - if I hadn't, I don't think it would have been as enjoyable. I also performed there a decade ago. Church staff mostly warm and accessible. One elder custodian woman is a little uptight. Great progressive programs.

Definitely a great experience! The venue was magnificent and the musicians were super talented. A must see at least once! (would have included pics but it wouldn't bring up my camera reel to choose).

Took friends to the candlelight classic rock concert at St Ann’s in Brooklyn. We all enjoyed it. Atmospheric with all the candles and great musicians performing rock classics. Our friends are now looking to other candlelight concerts. Great night out More

A vibrant, magnificent structure, with soaring arches and vibrant ornament. Light flows and dances through mosaics of stained glass. I was fortunate enough to see this space suffused in the flickering orange candlelight when I brought my

It is a Beautiful Catholic style Cathedral. The building is an old historical building with the high ceiling, original pews and its still in great condition. I was there seeing a play named Antigone in Ferguson. Which was a GREAT play.

I'm reviewing this place as a music venue. Its fantastic. It sounds wonderful and the staff is great. A beautiful church and a great place to see a concert. The missed star is for the incorrect show information on their website.

Music was outstanding and the acoustics are amazing in this historical church which first featured classical music in 1847. Beethoven 9th was fantastic as well as more contemporary composition. Well worth a visit

An old institution. The steeple was removed around the time the number 2 train line was being built underneath. It was never replaced, Often has great classical concerts here.
