Horrible. Don't waste your time or money. I called ahead of time to ask how long a dress hem usually took. The gentleman on the phone said it could be done the next day no problem. When I arrived I waited in line for about 20 minutes before I was assisted, as they had one person on staff measuring and helping customers. When I was finished being measured I mentioned that i would need my dress back the next day, and I wanted to confirm that was still fee sable. The woman rolled her eyes and looked frustrated. I explained that's what I had been told on the phone and she didn't look impressed. She asked I pay up front so I did- I thought she said "15 dollars". It wasn't until I had left, I realized my receipt said $50. I couldn't believe it- this had to be a mistake. The last time I had something hemmed it cost $9. Furthermore, my receipt said the dress was chiffon material. This dress was as cheap and polyester as they come. I paid $25 for it. I checked out the stitch it website where I read that hemming ranges from $15-$25. Ok, I thought, she simply made an error. When I went back to pick up my dress, I presented my receipt and ask it be reviewed because clearly I was over charged. The woman's demeanor instantly changed, she became snappy and defensive. She started by saying they do not have a price list on their website- yes, you do. She then said my dress was wide, and that is why it was more expensive. I can assure you, this dress is not "wide". She then said the dress was probably double lined. I said it is not- you can get it from the back and see for yourself. She finally went to get my dress and said "well they had to do a double stitch and that is more expensive." Yet I was charged before the hemming was even done? I said despite all this, it was rung into the system as chiffon, which is a more complicated and delicate material than polyester. She insisted the double stitching and "wideness" of my dress caused a $50 bill. That evening I attended a wedding and got on the topic of hemming. Every other woman that had a dress hemmed had paid in the ballpark of $9-$16 for hem job much more complicated than mine. Buyer beware- I am disgusted and would never return.

I had to attend a wedding and wanted to revamp my old prom dress since I only wore it once. I ended up bringing my prom dress beforehand with the extra material and asked the staff members to let me know whether they were able to do the work for me. 2 staff members insisted that it was a simple alteration and there would be no issue with completing the work. They also assured me that the extra material I provided was more than enough and they had enough time to complete the dress since I brought it about 3-4 weeks prior and paid for the alterations. I was scheduled to pick up the dress at 5pm on a weekday and I ended up receiving a call at 4pm the same day mentioning that they did not start sewing the dress yet because there isn't enough material to complete the work. I wasn't able to buy more material for the dress because I couldn't find the matching fabric on such short notice and I was leaving Ottawa the next morning. I didn't end up having the dress altered so I cannot comment on their work. But their level of professionalism and customer service is extremely poor. I find it difficult to understand why I brought my dress and material WEEKS prior and I only received a phone call 1 hour before I was scheduled to pick it up letting me know that the dress can't be altered and to bring more fabric. Had they contacted me even a few days before, I still would've been able to accommodate by trying to find another solution or purchase more fabric, but being told the DAY OF is completely unacceptable. I was forced to buy a brand new gown on short notice which was completely uncalled for. On a positive note, they did provide me with a full refund given the mishap.

I called in to ask about turn around time and was advised to come down to drop off. When we arrived the front doors where half closed, but the sign still said open and their sign with hours indicated they were open for a few hours yet, it was only 5pm. We asked the lady in front if they were open. I asked 3 times and my partner also asked a few times. It's like she was scared to come over and speak to us. The two of us could not hear a word, like she was hushing her voice to tell a secret. And then she kept turning around back to us. We were so confused and then appauled she could not even come 10 ft to the door to explain. I don't know if they were closing early, I don't know if they were on a break, I don't know if the manager had to step out. We heard no info. It honestly ticked the two of us off. I used to work in St Laurent mall, and that's such terrible customer service. If she gave us the courtesy of advising when we could be serviced, half an hour etc we could have walked around for a bit and come back or another day. But we heard zero info from the hushed employee or woman there. We took our business downstairs to the Pelican Cleaners & Trailering and we were treated very kindly and accommodatingly, even offering to get me to try on my outfit to ensure I liked the changes they'd be making. Oh well, I have a new go to.

I am absolutely unimpressed. This has more to do with their customer service. I only called to inquire an estimated cost to get a bridesmaid dress hemmed. She informed me it would be $25 and up. She asked what kind of dress and I told her it was a bridesmaid dress. She kept on repeating "bride dress" and I corrected her that it was a bridesmaid dress that only had two layers. I could hear her asking another co-worker about the price and she continued to say "that's what I told her" and hung up. Absolutely unimpressed with the phone call and will not be using their services. UPDATE: I decided to go in and use their services giving them the benefit of a doubt... And it was definitely not a pleasant experience. To hem a dress was absolutely too expensive and they do not really communicate with you. I asked for a suggestion and I got nothing from her. In the end I took my dress elsewhere. Not impressed. Definitely need work on customer relations.

After recently purchasing a cocktail dress from Melanie Lyne, I needed straps removed because it was too long on my shoulders. They recommended going to Stitch it for the alterations. What a complete mistake that was. After explaining twice and demonstrating the alterations I wanted done, the seamstress seemingly understood and took my money. She told me it would be ready 4 days later (the day before my Christmas party). My husband picked up my dress and brought it home (we live an hour away). I went to look at the alterations and they didnt do anything I'd asked. I called to complain and I couldn't even get an apology. They ruined a very expensive dress. What a horrible experience.

I needed work done for my uniform. I spent three weeks waiting for a commercial business to finish the job for the first half. When I picked it up I decided that I didn’t like that experience very much, so I brought the rest to this location. The service I received here was professional, courteous, and quick. They clearly have a lot of experience. I dropped my items off on Wednesday and picked it all back up the next day. Everybody I encountered was very kind and patient. The next time I need work done, I won’t hesitate to bring it here. Thank you for your help.

I had the zipper replaced on my daughter's winter jacket. It looked great at first but the teeth broke after 5 or 6 weeks of use. I was told they only guarantee their work for a month, but they would replace it again at a discount. They said they have had no other complaints about the zippers they use and that they are high quality, but to me it looked flimsy. They were very polite and called me back promptly to discuss the issue, so my only issue was with the quality of the zipper.

The most horrible experience really. I’m in one hotel and went there with all my cloths to dry cleaning. They asked to take them all out of my bag, and then said they don’t do underware!!! This could only be a joke. How do people supposed to have clean clothing? They were rude and arrogant. The final joke was telling about the “special chemicals” that don’t work on underware. This is absolutely ridiculous!

I don’t have a bad word to say. Courteous, kind and excellent craftsmanship. Top-notch service over all. Even when instructing his employee the gentleman was patient and kind, showing her the steps in providing good service to customers. I was impressed with my first visit there some time ago and even more impressed today.

AVOID THIS PLACE.Terrible. Brought in 2 pairs of pants that each just needed 1 leg re-hemmed, got charged for 2 legs on both pants - they said that they needed to do that for inventory reasons. They ended up losing the clasp on my pants, and I went back and they charged me for the clasp that they claim they didn’t lose.

The final alteration met my expectations as per earlier discussion. I also had patches applied recently on two fine Italian leather jackets where the leather was ripped. I was very pleased with the final results as it is impossible to see where the original rip in the leather was.

This place can only do SIMPLE alterations apparently. And then forgets to call when they say they'd call. Said they weren't able to help me with dress, so I went to a professional seamstress elsewhere. New seamstress was confused as to why the Stitch It people couldn't do it.

Went to Stitch It in St. Laurent mall on a Friday evening. The kind employee helped me right away with 3 clothing items that I needed to get fitted. She even said I could pick up all 3 items the next evening (a Saturday). All my items were fitted very nicely! Would go back!

It was amazing experience with the manager HADI, he was so helpful that he gave me advices and helped me a lot and was successful job to me for my pants and jackets He has really professional customer service with a smile face , not only him but also his stuff Thanks

Unfortunate to see so many bad reviews of this place. I came in to have jeans hemmed, I was out 20 minutes later with the job done well, on top of that it wasn't expensive. The customer service was decent considering we exchanged probably 8 sentences between us.

This is the second time I show up and the store hasn't opened yet even though it's past the listed business hours. The mall opens at 10am. All the stores are open at 10am. Their sign says they open at 10am also, but still, no one is here and it's 10:11 am.

They followed through with there promise to do a alteration on the spot. With in an 1hour and a half turn around. There was a premium to be payed for the service. That being said. They were happy to help. And the job was done right. Thanks

Very long waiting time. I passed by on Sunday to just hem my trousers. They told me to come back on Friday and bring my clothes. Before that, they didn't have availability. Only one tailor was working inside.
