This is a huge location with a nice variety of things to choose from. The staff are also nice, for the most part. That being said, I have shopped here numerous times and continually find expired things on shelves and even in the freezer sections, being sold. Even their pre-packaged items like instant coffees and snacks have tasted off, compared to when I shop anywhere else (they clearly don’t have great vendors). At least a few things are bad, even though they are not expired, whenever I bring my items home and eat them. Definitely poor quality control compared to Amazon Fresh, your local Key Food or Associated Fresh. The good: when you do find your items at a good price, it’s certainly worth coming here because they do have good deals every now and then. Overall, this could be a 5-star place, but for me, I wouldn’t come back here because I continually run into issues. All this being said, I recognize that they do work hard because I’m sure it’s not easy work to manage everything in such a large space, so they do a good job, with all things considered, but they do need to keep an eye out for spoiled items.

Absolutely abhorrent. I went in on a holiday and all the meat was sold out. That is completely understandable. I get it. One of the workers told me one of the trucks didn’t come in. The next day I wanted to pick up a steak so I called in to ask if they had restocked the meat. The woman who answered the phone told me she is not allowed to walk over to the meat section. I asked her if she could get someone else to do it and she said no. She then proceeded to tell me that was the only answer she could provide me. What answer is that? She didn’t provide me with any answer. Unfortunately I could tell she was very young in age from her voice but that is unacceptable. That was so unprofessional and borderline rude. Not to mention she didn’t help me at all or even try! Stop n shop needs to find better talent. People who have empathy. People who can problem solve. She should have escalated this issue to her manager and said she would get back to me but nope. Wasted my time and now I have to go down to the store -most likely to find an empty fridge. So disheartening. Please do better

I would like to have given a five star rating here, but there were a few things out of the norm. The Produce department was well stocked with fresh fruit and vegetables. Some of the best I've seen! The same with the Meat department, everything was neat, fresh, and we'll stocked. Sorry to say, the price hikes in this department show! The Dairy and Frozen departments were also well stocked, but the aisles especially in Frozen were crowded with the stockmen and their boats packing out product. Some of the the refrigeration units had the liquid absorbing pads in front of them, but the water was a bit too much for their use, either that or someone forgot to change them. The Grocery department was very well stocked including with most sale items. And of course Checkout wasn't too bad. The cashier could have been more friendly, and she, as is usual with most Stop and Shops I've been in, didn't extend the courtesy of asking for my Stop and Shop card. Luckily I remembered before paying! All said and done, I give this store a solid 4 stars!

I have been coming here since the opening of this stop & shop. I’m not sure if there’s a new management team or what’s going on but I know many people try to come early in the morning after dropping their kids off at school. This place use to be packed early in the morning and now it is completely empty. The produce of vegetables and fruits is always half empty and fruits and vegetables that are available have mold or are old. Whoever is running the bakery section should make sure there are muffins, bagels etc available from 8am and beyond. Every time I go in the morning there is no bread or bagels available until I ask the lady at the bakery section and she rolls out a cart and tells me to grab what I want. She doesn’t even take them out to make it available to everyone. The deli to order ham is closed and I’m not sure until what time they open but at 8am they definitely do not, even if you ask. Unfortunately this has happened more than a few times already and I find it better to go to the location on Atlantic Ave.

I forewarned my mother but went there reluctantly to give Stop and Shop a 2nd chance. Again, it was a disappointment. The leafy greens and vegetable were pathetic looking. Regarding the fruit, sorry, I don't want 3 of everything for 10 bucks. And to buy one means spending an outrageous amount more than i would elsewhere. I did buy a bag of oranges and have to say i'd give them a 3 out of ten in taste. The loaf of bread from the bakery was quite poor as well. I didn't see any good quality paper towels. I was prepared to spend $100 to fill my kitchen but could only spend about 40. And it's not like the prices are a bargain. The best thing was redeeming the bags of change we had. Its unfortunate because there's parking, its a spacious store and could be a fun destination. I decided to give it a 2 because the checkout person, and a manager who showed us the change redemption machine were very helpful. There is too much room for improvement here.

0 this ZERO hands down goes to the Famous Donna! She seems like she hates her Job and all customers that have questions related to the store. of all the times i’m in the store when a Cashier calls Donna over she always have a stank face & have something smart or nasty to mumble as she walks away! At times i feel she is RACIST towards certain customers. i’ve been going to the stop and shop since day one. it’s normally in and out but lately i myself have questions and troubles and will result in the cashier needing Donna assistance. encounters with Donna is unpleasant. Twice with 2 different cashier they needed help but seem scared to call for Donna. i visit 4 times a week at this location. i stop completely. reasons why - 1. there’s is no signal down there, hard to use apple pay ( no service) 2. Donna 3. parking limited

Fabulous & friendly place to shop, totally love that store at union Turnpike in Queens, NYC. There produce section has the freshest everything. Deli department is very clean & the have a lot of selections, including the most yummy roasted chicken, fried chicken & ribs to say the least. Meat department is clean & the butcher is always ready to help. I can go on & on, but you have to visit this particular store to understand where am coming from. I promise you after visiting this particular store in 8989 Union Turnpike, Glendale, NY. 11385 you will never shop in any other S&S anywhere else. Point blank period!!!

This location is the best I've been to in Queens. Excellent customer service, great selection. Everything is always in the right place. They have an excellent organic/healthy aisle. Their produce is always top notch. Checkout is usually very fast, except during rush times and even then it's faster than other locations. I go out of my way to get here, and it's totally worth it. The last time I was there I needed help finding some items and they went above and beyond to help me. They were excited to help. Exactly how customer service should be. Bravo to their team! They've won a customer for life.

When one purchases produce (raspberries, apples, strawberries, tangerines, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes), there is an expectation with the prices and selection at Stop & Shop that one is not getting the quality reserved for a discount grocery. As soon as we were home our food began to spoil. I am very disappointed that all the produce we purchased appeared to be on the last day of freshness. Thank goodness we did not purchase our meats at this time. Our doubts on freshness ensure we will not return to this overpriced grocery selling discount outlet produce.

Friendliest staff ever! I walk down every aisle and the staff always asks how my day is. They always ask if I need anything, how can we help? I love it! They are so attentive. The seafood lady gave me two pieces of salmon for the price of one. The check out lady was so kind to put in her store card for me. The store itself is very clean and organized, prices are great. Great organic section also. Love that they have a starbucks and put out lots of samples to try, especially this cold season. Only grocery store I go to, they have it all!

Generally helpful & polite staff. The store is always clean. Is NOT service dog friendly, especially by one manager in particular - however most of the regular employees don't seem to mind. It's usually possible to shop & fill a whole cart with items that were on sale only! Available here: Western Union (usually closes a few hours before the whole store does), Coinstar, Starbucks, parking structure, (plastic, glass & can) recycling, elevators, clean bathrooms & a water fountain.

Love this place! Its usually kinda busy during the day but later on the lines are ALOT smaller....cashiers are friendly in my experience. Note: if u have EBT the paper bags are FREE (otherwise I think its like 5 or 10 cents a bag. The bags don't have handles so carry them carefully! Unless u get the reusable bags then you're good to go! Parking is definitely easier in the evening as well. The lines go fairly smooth and pretty decent for the most part

I love this store In general. So this review is not about the store, but some of its customers. It's been 3th time in a row now, that I ether witness ppl opening food, eat some of it & but it back on the shelf, or that I unpack my groceries at home and come to realize, that I bought a item that someone opened and tried. I know you can't have eyes everywhere, but all the ilse should been checked a little more often.

Stop and Shop is a grocery store chain with locations throughout the New York metropolitan area. The store has a wide selection of fresh produce, meats, and other groceries. I've been shopping at Stop and Shop for years, and I've always been happy with the selection and the service.

Last Sunday i bought a bag of organic oranges. They were not sale items. By Wednesday 3 out of the six oranges in the bag were rotten and had to be discarded. So I only got 3 oranges for my 8 bucks. Stop and shop should have more control over the quality of their products. It is unethical to sell produce that are way past their shelf life at such an exorbitant price.

This is the only full-size grocery chain location in the area. There’s plenty of free parking in the deck even if the turns are a little tight. Traffic can get backed up on the way out. There’s a wide selection, but the produce is hit or miss. Certain produce items are often out or there, but moldy. Their pickup service is very convenient and inexpensive.

This is one of the first Stop & Shop I ever went too. It's still one of my favorite Stop & Shop's. Its Very clean, produce very fresh and large selection . Also a very good deli Dept. Plus a nice selection of meat. The prices are good if you use a Stop & Shop discount card you can get at customer service. Sometimes parking can be rough

Second time here and both times, had to get away from your FISH AREA. The smell is over powering…meaning not fresh fish or never change ice that fish is displayed. First visit thought about it and just walked away. But the second visit after 2 weeks confirms…it sinks…real fish stores never smell like yours. Need to correct problem.

Parking is easy. Large isles and does not seem crowded. Good gluten free selections. Prices are fair and can find good items on sale. For supermarkets in queens/ forest hills vicinity where the experience feels hectic due to lack of food quality , no parking and small sizes, this is a enjoyable change.

Have been shopping here for decades. Usually is a positive experience...but every few years.... something happens. Store was fine..but meat was rancid the following morning. I should state that this has never happened here before..but it did this time. Am out of 9 bucks and a dinner. Live and learn.

They have recently added a robot that identifies spills by strolling around. The store is underground and you lose phone coverage while inside. The parking lot is crowded and it gets hard to move around. The organic produce is expensive and they run out of many items almost every time I go there.

This store is the reason why I've been using FreshDirect for the past 6 months. Very inconsistent stock of items makes it hard to plan shopping based on cooking plans. High prices make it not worth visiting vs. delivery. I got stuck in the elevator once. Not a great experience.

When we (the person shopping with me and myself) were checking out the employee at the self checkouts was very helpful and had a good attitude, this kinda treatment along with how clean the store is and the freshness of the food makes the store feel like a place you can trust

They sell expired items. Some almost a year past expiration. They’re alerted to expired items and won’t remove them off the shelf. Instead they put “special” yellow stickers on them. They’ve raised prices significantly only to lower quality and sell expired food.

This morning all cash registers were not working due to technical issues. Only self checkout were functioning. Another issue is the elevators are never working. If it's not one elevator, then it's both...Also, elevators are very dirty and not well lit.

Nice store but sale items seem to sell quickly and theres never enough for all shoppers. Their sales aren't nearly as good as they were before they become a monopoly. On the bright side they have big parking lots. I wish we still had a Pathmark.

There is plenty of parking and more variety than the Trader Joe's nearby. Sale items go out of stock quickly, especially meats. This place is clean, the carts work, and the checkout lanes are fast.

Shop online and the store employees will bring it out to your car. Don't wast your time on the street level parking lot. Plenty of parking on the roof level DON'T PARK IN THE FOOD PIICK UP SPOTS.

The shelves were well stocked. The was clean and orderly. I have had Giselle at checkout a few times now and she is super nice and helpful. It makes the experience that much better.
