I booked my apt last minute as I had heard great reviews about this place. I really didn't know what I wanted when I went in, so was looking for some advice on my curly hair that I've never really known how to style! Danny spent a lot of time advising me on what would work well for my hair. He talked me through each step from the cut, to washing it and what products to use and how best to style it. I can honestly say that I've never had this level of advice and help with my hair. I left feeling great and loving my hair. Danny was also honest in advising how to best look after my hair in future I.e not washing hair too frequently, hair products and not needing to have it Cut that regular. I was also given a card with the steps that were used on my hair to help me maintain at home. Danny was also very friendly and made me feel comfortable. Would defo recommend to anyone. I went along to Strand with my daughter for the appointment I booked for her 18th birthday as a special treat. We recieved a lovely friendly welcome and was made to feel comfortable from start to finish. My daughter had her hair done by CeCe and I have to say the whole process of having her hair washed,cut and styled was done with a lot of attention and not rushed. I was given a lovely cup of coffee whilst I waited on the comfy sofa. I was amazed how curly my daughters hair looked when it was finished, it looked absolutely stunning. I will say whilst I sat on the sofa every person that went out the door after having their hair done looked fantastic with amazing curls. My daughter is buzzing with her hair and has sent pics to all her friends who wanted the big reveal, they are all very impressed. Thank you Strand for giving my daughter a special 18th birthday treat.

Today's my first visit to Strand & Lock. Lizzie gave me a warm welcome and I loved the atmosphere which was full of laughters with two lovely doggies. Ceci was so sweet, calm, patient and confident. I could just let her take care of my hair comfortably and her work was a piece of art. The haircut and styling made my hair look healthy and the curls were more defined. I got compliments thanks to Ceci. In the past, almost every hair stylists I met got headache when they saw my curly and frizzy hair, they just suggested me to have the hair straightened. I was so grateful that I found this salon and met Ceci. She was the only hair stylist I met who said my hair was beautiful and it's so warm-hearted. She also talked me through what products to use and how to maintain the new hairstyle. Thank you so much Ceci and Strand & Lock.

Such a good haircut! I have been looking for a proper hair salon for years and have been to here and there just trying to make it work. Ive been to the other curly hair salon in Brum and it just didn’t quite hit the same. Definitely was not as bespoke and didn’t take as much time/care as they did here. Booked this completely on an impulse literally on the day I was meant to fly out on holiday. Cecile was so so patient. Listened to everything I wanted and gave me exactly what I asked for. And spent extra time drying my hair (which takes forever). I’ve been to Dubai and been back for a week and my hair has been so easy to handle and style throughout. So I know for definite it’s a damn good hair cut! Thank you C! Please don’t leave.

I've been a 2-year customer at Spring, and needed a last-minute haircut for an interview on Tuesday. It was too short notice to book in at Spring, and I found this salon when I was looking for any other curly salons in Birmingham as I didn't wabt to risk having a regular barber butcher my curls. I managed to squeeze in for a cut using the convenient online booking system. Once I was checked in and sat down in the waiting area, I was given a very adorable hello from a frenchie, and a sweet little chihuahua sat on my lap while I waited. Everything went perfect, and I may have been sold over by the dogs!

Honestly most recommended place! From the moment you walk in you’re greeted with extremely friendly faces. I came in to repair some awful work I had done, with little doubt as I hadn’t been here previously. Walking in I was honestly teary with the state of my hair and I left feeling lush and like myself again! I couldn’t flaw this experience at all but honestly really applause and thank both the amazing hair dresser Danny and lizzy! Both their care and attention to detail was amazing and I’ve already got my next appointment booked in!

I cannot put into words how much I recommend strand and lock. Heblin was so knowledgable about how we should style my hair and the products I should use for my type of hair. She made me feel completely comfortable about my haircut and talked to me about what she was doing before she did every cut. She was so friendly and funny. The shop had such a nice vibe. Everyone was chatty and friendly and offered drinks as you go along. 100% worth it I’m so happy with my hair. Will definitely be going back!

I was never disappointed whenever I visit Strand&Lock for my curly hair. Danny always understand what I want to achieve on my hair and treats it with so much care. I’ve had the best curly hair cuts done by Danny in the past, it’s always very neat!. Recently I had highlights and I was really happy with the results. Cecile gave me the most wonderful curly hair cut. I came in with hair that was long overdue a trim and only a vague idea of what I wanted to have done. She breathed some life back into my curls giving them a lovely shape and lots of body. On top of that, the service was incredibly friendly and I felt very comfortable. Excellent value for money and I'll be coming back!

I had the amazing Ellesha who took the time to understand what I wanted and kept me up to date on my cut throughout while explaining how it was going to influence my styling. Was super gentle with my hair and made my hair look sooo wonderfully fluffy and voluminous with great cutting technique. So kind as well and was just overall really lovely ❤❤❤

Wow my daughter has the biggest beaming smile after all the attention Alicia gave to her curls , she has made my girls day , Alicia talked Jessica through the whole process from washing to brushing it through and adding curl cream and a moisture gel and gave us hints and tips how to best look after her curls , thankyou we will be back xxxxx

Heblin was amazing, had so much knowledge and was so patient during the hair cut; she checked in several times during the hair cut to ensure that I was happy with everything that was going on. Also was just such a lovely environment in the salon, both women were so friendly and made me feel really comfortable! Would definetly recommend!

It was my first appointment with ellesha, but I felt really comfortable. Ellesha is very knowledgable and experienced with curly hair, she listened to me and came up with solutions. We had the best experience today at Strand & Lock. Cecile was so lovely with my 10 year old twin girls for their first curly cut. She was so gentle, she explained everything to them and what products she was using. She helped me, as their mum to look after their hair between visits. 5 star service. My confidence in letting someone cut my curls has been restored. Ellesha was amazing at involving me throughout, making sure I knew what was happening and whether I was happy through the process. I loved my curly cut and style with Heblin! It was my first every curly-specific hair appointment and she explained the process to me including which products were being used. I'll definitely be maintaining my hair with further cuts here. Plus there's salon dogs, big plus!

I had the best experience getting my hair cut and styled by Ellesha, who was super sweet and attentive. She really took the time to put me at ease and worked with me to make sure I loved the cut I got. It won’t let me post a photo but my curls have never looked better!
