Quite a rundown cinema. The least legroom I have ever experienced in a cinema coupled with an apparent lack of AC made it a hot and uncomfortable viewing. The legroom really is poor - if you're over 6" your legs will be digging into the chair in front. No drink holders in the seats either. We were in screen 3 - don't know if it's different in other screens. It was a Friday night and very quiet. We walked through the main doors and all the way into our screen and the only member of staff we saw was the (very pleasant) security guard on the front door. No one checked our tickets. Oh yes, it smelt weird too. Despite all that I'l give it another go as it was £8 for a ticket.

Old cinema with old walls that have dirt which make the movie look worse. The chairs don't have cup holders. Worst of all, we went to see Barbie and a group of 3 couples with 3 kids kept talking extremely loudly throughout the entire movie. Towards the end people in the room had enough and screamed "SHUT UP" to those dreadful people. I never experienced such nonchalant disrespect in a cinema before. Nobody from the cinema staff said anything to the hecklers, but they were eager to tell us in the beginning that we will be kicked out if we post Instagram/Snapchat stories recording the screen.

Went to a baby screening of Barbie. Enjoyed the experience overall BUT I wasn't expecting such a long wait for a lift that can only hold 2 buggies at a time. It was a crazy free for all when parking prams. No organisation. Everyone was confused. They should have left the lights on until the movie was due to start (including over the trailers) as steps, prams everywhere and people carrying babies isn't a good mix. I suppose we ended up working it out but I won't do it again in a hurry

friday night film in screen 1. very limited leg room. moved seats 3 times as it smelled so strongly of urine but reading the reviews now it's probably the smell of mice :( the popcorn was so stale we didn't eat it. the cinema screen also had blemishes on it so film quality was compromised. no aircon in common areas despite the heat but luckily the theatre was cool. avoid if you can.

This place is in need of some love. The location is great because it's low-key, while still showing the lastest films, but the screens aren't that big. The main complaint is that there's no heating while watching the film, even when it's freezing outside! It just needs a revamp and some better popcorn and it could be a lot better

Such a warm, welcoming, relaxed and fun place to enjoy a film. Great coffee and cakes. Love the location, next door to the theatre and the arts centre. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and wonderful at their job. We don't often go to the cinema these days but the Stratford picture house experience is worth making the effort.

It is conveniently located near Stratford station, and you can also go through Stratford Central and take one of the exits to reach the cinema. It is better to use public transport as parking can be quite expensive, even more on weekends. The movie hall is ok with just about enough legroom to sit.

Went to watch the little mermaids with my nieces but the cinema screen room sound was basic and dull. Not enough leg room, easily distracted as people kept going in and out. Popcorns tasted horrible and not fresh. I won't be returning as limited options in snacks as well no Nachos.

Part of the collapsing Cineworld group, this place is completely falling apart. Basic maintenance and repair routines have clearly been abandoned a long time ago, and the whole site has the musty smell of terminal decay. Thankfully the projection and sound systems were still OK.

A mouse ran across our feet.. I don't think I need to say anything else but this was pretty rank. Also the seats are small with limited leg room, there is no cup holder or any space to put your things so we felt cramped and on top of the people around us.

I went there after almost 10 years. I was shocked to see how rundown it feels. Specially the carpits are all falling apart and are a trip hazard. Seats are comfortable but a bit cramped. Hope they do something about the carpets before someone has a fall.

I was there for an event. Not the cinema. Staff are really friendly. There is a cool bar upstairs selling wine and cans of beer. It was a very hot evening and there was no air conditioning in the cinema screen our event was in so it was baking hot.

Great purpose built cinema. Friendly and helpful staff, adequate number of screens, upstairs bar etc. Pocket friendly membership options available so remember to ask about this if you will be visiting at least 3 times a year. Totally worth it.

A local treasure. Doesn't have the most luxe seats, or the fanciest sound systems... but it's comfy, cosy, not overcrowded and does have all the big releases plus a great range of films including things that might not make it to the big

This picture house reminded me of GTA. Very ghetto cinema, I don't think staff clean the theatres in between movies because our seats had (suspicious) things all over them. My review is just about cleaning btw not staff interaction.

Great local cinema to go with the kids. Can make a day of it as plenty of food places to eat in near by. We watched the new Spider-Man clean environments friendly staff. Paid family ticket price on a weekend which was good.

The movie was great but the atmosphere wasn't right, people were talking all throughout the movie behind and in front of us. It's also very difficult to get to your seats especially if your seats are

I used to belong to the Stratford Picture House when it was a clean, nice place and the benefits were good. I went with a friend as she had a couple of free tickets and I was gobsmacked at

Although this place is a bit cheaper then normal, there are very limited snack options and the carpets in the cinema screen rooms were filthy and sticky. I wouldn't come back.

  • John King

Always very clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. Always a good selection of cake to have with your coffee. Good benefits for members.

I love this cinema and you can become a member and get 5 movies free, discount on food and 5 pounds a movie instead of 8 pounds every time you go.

  • Richard Thompson

Comfortable and cosy cinema. Pleasant staff. Half the price of a ticket of her hipster younger sister at Hackney picture house three miles away!

  • Francesca Tosolini

The building, seating and lounge area are extremely rundown and in need of an urgent renovation, but the screens and sound are still good.

  • Manuel Salvatori

Not the best picture quality, it looked like the fabric was dirty. Was too loud. Seats are standard, comfortable but with no drink holder.

  • Kerry Abrahams

Was disappointed, used to be a nice cinema. Staff seemed depressed of which there were less than a handful. Floors dirty.

  • J Waller

Really friendly. Quite basic cinema and a bit old school but you can buy beers, wines and spirits to take in.

  • Gavin Marsh

Simply wonderful. The manager on our visit left no stone unturned for us. Brilliant!!!

  • Greg Ohm

Local cinema - desperate need of a refurb and deep clean.

  • Leonard Rudi

It’s a good cinema with great prices
