I did not want to give this the one star I did, but it won't allow you to post the review unless you do. My daughter answered her friends door one day to a TV licensing man who asked her name. She gave it but told the man she did not live there as was living with us at the time. The people who did live there had an old black and white TV that they never ever used. That was 3 years ago. She has recently been sent a fine for £750 to our address and told to attend court. She could not do this as was away at the time. She has had to go to Highbury Magistrates Court in person to tell them this and now has been summoned to appear at Stratford in September. Once again she is away travelling and is so stressed about it all that I am furious. I have tried to phone this court numerous times but the lazy staff at the other end cannot even be bothered to answer phone calls. This is outrageous. Given that she never even lived at the address, which was in Ealing and the amount of time and money wasted on this is absolutely downright criminal on their behalf. She has literally just qualified as a nurse and the stress that this is causing her is abominable!!! What has happened to this country? How can you possibly put a person through so much pressure and worry. Being middle aged I would tell them to stuff it but she is young and is scared of having a criminal record for something that is nothing to do with her. And you can never get through to the Highbury Magistrates Court either. Shame on you all !!!!!!

This is the most unprofessional, unfriendly and the security staff, especially, are preoccupied with negative attitudes to any and every visitor. I get appointments on almost a fortnightly basis as an interpreter. They treat everyone as if everyone is a convicted murderer. They make you take off your shoes and make you show the bottom and the inside of the shoes. It is their job and to check the shoes themselves but instead they ask you (rudely, ‘Take off shoes’, NOT even a ‘please’) I understand it is the same for everyone but what is disrespectful to the visitors is the way they order you to take everything out of your bag. This black guy (35-40)couldn't even recognise my emergency inhaler for heart attacks and asked me to spray it on my skin. I told him several times, as a security person he should have been informed of these and other emergency medications. At that point, an experienced lady security guard told him it was fine and saved me from further misery and stress. (Initially he wanted to hold on to my emergency inhalers. I said, if I get a heart attack in the mean time, you would be responsible.) The Indian chap (about 42)then ORDERED me to take off my shoes and threatened me, ‘Don't push me’, as I said it was his job to check the shoes and not mine Since I had taken off the shoes already. After all, this us NOT A PRISON but a court of law. These guards should be trained to behave professionally and respectfully with the visitors.

I called the court about an enquiry as the form I need signing said I can go to any magistrates court. However I thought I would call and ask before I make my journey as I might need a prior appointment. The lady that answered kept cutting me off and extremely rude, she heard a few keywords and the completely fobbed me off saying they cannot help me here. Before I even had a chance to ask her where I can get the help I needed she already hung up. No customer service whatsoever, and this is meant to be staff from the courts that should be helping vulnerable people.

I just wanted to comment on how lovely the staff are, from the security to the people in the court room. A lot of people in this industry (bromley court specifically!!) seem to forget that it’s human beings they are dealing with and there is a lack of compassion & respect there - however in my experience at this court they were the complete opposite and lovely people all round. Especially the lady who does the searches at the beginning, she was so kind and such and nice person. Kindness, mannerism & compassion truly goes a long way.

I feel as the judge took the police officer side even though i gave a mot guide line on why my tyre was legal, officer didn't have any physical evidence measurements of the tread just a picture. Secondary groove doesn't matter even though I'm an mot tester. the judge took his word and experience over my clear mot guide lines and gave me a huge fine even though i told him my expenses. Basically the justice system is unjust. Mot is part of the legal system but still took his side.

It's completely qaste of time service is so worst .only security is doing there job by checking people coming in court.judge was so rude he just decided to pass order that iam liable to pay rent arrears and judge accept what ever my landlord said without any proof by my landlord.he said 15000 arrears judge accepted without any proof..so bad experience and ask me leave property on 1 November but yet in Dec did not received letter to leave property

  • SergiuPYF

This is worst place to reach if you want to prove you are not guilty. They don't even try to listen to you. It's true that you are already guilty for them with no care to listen to what you have to say, not even a glimpse that they are dealing with humans, with their future at stake with their hopes for a fair chance in front of a rotten sistem. Just like a dictatorial sistem 0% chances for the people, 100% chances for the sistem. Disgusting!!!

  • Ray

One of the worst experience ever. Would give this a 0 rating. Went to court got fined before now they giving me another new fine just cause they assumed I'm guilty! What load of rubbish! I got financial issues and they fining me again! This justice system in the UK is terrible and poor practice! These people want to make you feel guilty! You'll be hearing from my lawyer very very soon.

  • Ali Khan

No justice. They started telling me my sentence before letting me speak. Gave me points and huge fine without asking me if I can afford it. This has left me mentally depressed. I have lost faith in the justice system. Now I understand why good people turn bad. The guy sitting in front of the judge was very rude talking like as if he is the boss.

  • Michael

I telephoned the Magistrates Court with a query. The phone was answered within a short time and my query was dealt with in a professional manner. So have to say they could not be faulted. Having tried to contact other Courts many times where they would never even answer the phone. I was amazed!

  • john caxton

Phone is constantly engaged or rings off. Go to the court to get papers sealed and get told to make an appointment over the phone which is an impossibility. They are a total joke. Bet they won't be laughing when the courts are privatised and they all get a well deserved P45

  • James Harrison

The staff were rude and unhelpful. Mother of victim had to find everything out of what was going on. Which it shouldn't of been her role to do so. They spoke to us in a rude manner and didn't care how long we had been there without someone informing us of the information.

  • Linda baker

We recently had to attend and found all staff helpful, especially the clerk of the court, the police liaison officer. The two magistrates were very fair and we even ended up joking with front security because we were there all day and were in and out to have a ciggie

  • Ogo Oluwa

The staff are completely unhelpful. They don't care about their jobs even though they are dealing with sensitive issues. They are quick to put the phone down and have no empathy whatsoever. You can tell they are just there to be paid. Unfriendly and unknowledgeable .

  • aaron senza

Everybody was helpful, even people waiting to be seen offered assistance to me. went after 3pm and waited roughly 30-40mins. Im guessing your experience just depends on what time you go and also what other peoples situations are which could lead to a unwanted delay.

  • Christopher Lim

Wholly corrupt kangaroo procedures, guilty until not able to prove yourself innocent. The police lie all they want then it's up to you to prove them wrong. I lost my faith in the police service, court system and a portion of humanity today.

  • Brian Wilmot

Seems I have spent 3 days or more of my life waiting for someone to pick up the phone on behalf of my 80yr old mother and when they do they put it down without talking to you!!! Watchdog or some TV programme should look into this

  • Michal Kuliberda

Another gang of governmental bandits who are paid with public money for destroying families in England. Don't trust them. Avoid them as much as you can.

  • del

Bad service been phoning for days. phone just rings out no one answers. No option for a call back. needed to contact them urgently Disgusting service

  • Isha Caramella

I've been calling for a week straight and I've not once had anyone answer. It doesn't matter if it's urgent, they don't care, they WILL NOT PICK UP!

  • Andrew Alhamamda

Never got any answer on the phone after several days of calling, to save my writing for something better in short this court is rubbish

  • Michael Trapper

Can hardly get in contact with anyone at this place even if its a urgent matter they still don't take that it in to consideration

  • Julia Sławińska

Waiting 40 minutes on the phone to get incorrect advice? You got it. Coming in person to get incorrect advice? This as well :(

  • Russell Hughes

An absolute shambles of a court. Takes months for them to respond to emails or process any forms. Avoid if at all possible.

  • Vincent Mcentee

Cannot get an answer when ringing, and when finally answered, the service is horrible. Staff are lifeless and unhelpful.

  • okenemem

I've only given two stars because the security are nice. The whole experience here was waste of time. So unorganised.

  • Serhat Yildiz

They never answer the phone in purpose had my case supposedly at 10am been waiting for 5 hours still not been seen.

  • Cayleigh Wynter

Worst people to get through to been call 4 different numbers non stop and not one person answered. It's a joke

  • OkPelis Com

Basically you not allowed to talk or defend yourself, they treat you guilty from the second you step inside

  • Chris Ash

One star is generous, sadly you can't submit a zero star rating because that is what this place deserves

  • James King

The phone will ring for up to 10 minutes with no answer. Tried many times to the same effect.

  • aaron friend
