Edit: I am changing my review from one star to five stars. I don't know if there has been a change in management, but there has certainly been a change in staff. The food and customer service has improved drastically. The location is no longer 24 hours, which is a shame, but good changes were made. Original review: I'm getting really tired of this supposed 24hr Subway being closed when I just want some food after a late shift at work. There is never even any note posted explaining why. When they are open, they act angry that a customer walked in. They are spiteful and rude. How dare I specify extra tomato or ask for a toasted sandwich? The lobby is always blocked off all night, so they should really specify 'take-out only' between certain hours. They claim it's closed for cleaning. If that is the case, they shouldn't allow their half-dozen obviously personal friends to hang out in the closed off dining area and proceed to tell paying customers they can't sit. There is one young lady who is quite pleasant and welcoming, but unfortunately she rarely works the late hours that I try to eat there.

I'm only writing this review bc the girl working by herself the night of 11/27 around 730-8, she was on the phone with what seemed like a manager or owner and had a line of about five people. She communicated with us she was on an important call and I heard her say mention several times she had customers waiting and that she should either get off the phone or close the store to finish the conversation. She was putting the customers first and it seemed like whoever she was on the phone with was not and was very rude. I applaud the young woman for being customer service oriented and getting me taken care of quickly!

Quite literally the best Subway I've ever been to. It's fast, even when there is a a long line. The staff are likeable and professional and clean. Many years ago I worked at Subway, and I'm familiar with how poorly things can go if a store is not ran properly. None of those issues exist here. It's close to my work and I've probably been here 50 times over last few years. I really can't imagine how they could do any better. The only downside is street parking is kind of a hassle in area sometimes, but easy access if on foot or bike.

Have gone to this Subway everytime I take the Amtrak train through Portland and they stop nearby for a crew change that gives a longer break. Ordering online for time savings, its a short walk away from the station, with a clean space and employees who have always been attention oriented. The application doesn't allow for the personal touches I might request in person, but the employees here have always been able to decipher my shorthand in the special instructions section to a tee.

I ordered Subway online on 8/12/21.I headed into the store to grab it and Luke greeted me,I was AMAZED at his outstanding customer service,I wasn't able to order smashed avocado on my sandwich online,as their was no option to add it. Luke gave me a to go portion of smashed avocado and he knew I was walking so he made sure my food was packed so the bag wouldn't break while I was walking. Luke is a STELLAR young man !!Thank you Luke for making my day brighter:-)

Ordered a sandwich to go. And….no napkins tossed in! THIS …. This is Exactly why I REFUSE ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO TIP. I WILL NEVER EVER EVER TIP FIRST. You are Not guaranteed good service. Having a napkin or two tossed in with the To Go Order, is what GOOD EXPECTED Customer Service is. Thank you for solidifying my resolve to NEVER TIP.

Everything was good, except this overweight dark skinned Karen with a mohawk was complaining because I didn't order a sandwich and got to go straight to the counter. She got to stuff her giant face with her footlong and guzzle her diet coke so I don't know what her deal was. Nice place though, will come back.

Absolutely worst staff. We're not helpful at all when trying to use the subway app. I definitely recommend not going here and instead going to Jimmy johns or even Jersey Mike's because they both have apps that let you get discounts and free stuff. Plus the staff at both places know how to help use app. Subway is way too overpriced now.

Poor poor service with the girl behind the counter tonight. Came in because i live two blocks up and didnt feel like making dinner tonight. For starters this location on yelp and google maps is listed 24hours, but the door says otherwise. Make my order and purchase and proceed to sit down when she mentions the lobby is closed. Which in turn after a 14hr shift only pissed me off. Learn how to do your job

I tend to go this Subway during "off" hours so I get my orders quickly and without any problems. The food is very good for a Subway and the staff has always been courteous and helpful. The neighborhood can get very, shall we say "colorful" after the sun goes down. If it's before 10pm Subway is a great alternative to the burger joints. I will continue to give Lovejoy Subway my business in the future.

I stopped in because whenever I get delivery something is always wrong . I told them exactly how I wanted it but it's like they didn't put enough if everything on our sandwiches. They are okay not the best sandwich makers but it was okay. I've had worse.

First time I went there to buy something for a friend that was super hungry, They didn't have the bread I wanted but it was OK until I asked for another bread but she had me go back to the line again just to tell me she's out of bread. I stayed there for an hour before getting a salad. It's a good location but They need to work on their customer service.

Very poor Subway location. Food is hit or miss quality wise, half the time it's excellent or exceptional and the other half it's very bland or not good. Sometimes they've been out of ingredients which isn't good in general. To top it off though, it's the customer service at this location that is the worst of the worst of any Subway I've ever been too.

Sent my boyfriend in to get me a salad. They had the laziest person ever. Didn't want to give me croutons for my salad said they didn't have any and I find that hard to believe. Way to go customer service. You can't be out of croutons every single time what's up

Employee had very inappropriate demeanor towards a paying customer. Can't imagine what other customers have to deal with. This area is a very beautiful and prime location. Would hope to see employees there with attitudes that reflect the atmosphere of the location. Yikes. Rude, bad attitude and overall never visiting this location again.

There's one worker and she is badass what a joy to see one worker holding down a shift how often does that happen nowadays her name is SHAY and in the face of great opposition she pushes through and she does this every weekend be very nice to Shane she's a good employee

My 5 year old is for sure a cheap date... All he ever wants here is a 6 inch olive sando on Italian bread. Literally, that's all he has is the Italian bread and olives nothing else on it whatsoever. Best Subway sandwich I ever had, no joke. White guy with glasses who said hes been here just over a year put on a healthy dose of pepper, and I think that made all the difference. Ingredients were very fresh, esp. for a Subway. Highly recommend, also, give that guy a raise!

This is one of the better subways I have been to. I just ordered take out, but they actually followed my special instructions to heat up my chicken teriyaki and not just toast it.

This location was out of control. Not only did they not have teriyaki chicken. But they were also out of multiply sauces and toppings. On the plus.. If you ordered a teriyaki chicken sandwich, since they were out you could choose another kind for free

The lady literally gave five little piece's of each vegetable. I was like seriously asked her 3 different times and each time she would put a couple more. Good luck trying to find parking. Other than that it's what you would expect from a subway.

Called in a few sandwiches for carry out. Got there a half hour later and sandwiches were not done. Waited another 45 before receiving my order. Horrible service! I will never go there again. Rude staff to top it all off!

Only 1 employee on duty who hasn't been trained properly. She insisted on serving the person in line behind me first, didn't correctly make the sandwich I requested and wanted to overcharge me for it.

Excellent spot for a quick meal especially if you have a train or bus to catch. Outside is not the greatest however it is Portland. Excellent staff and clean environment as well.

Single person working there was nice. Food was good. The soda machine had vanilla Coke which is nice at the end of the day. No complaints.

It's usually very crowded for lunch and not always easy to find a seat, but the food tastes very good and the staff is fast and friendly.

It's just Subway, but this place is always clean and they are ridiculously friendly. Will be back, mostly for the kiddos.
