We had the rice with Bangkok sauce and asked for only mushrooms (no meat / no tofu/ no protein). But the wok came with lots of vegetables which was good but unexpected as it's not mentioned anywhere and EGG which is mentioned very tiny on the menu (tbh I saw it online now). The staff started arguing with us when we complained that we did not want eggs and it's not mentioned anywhere. They said you need to tell us you don't need eggs as all our work comes with EGG. But it's not mentioned anywhere we argued so are we supposed to dream that they put eggs in every wok of theirs? Be mindful while ordering. We ended up buying another wok cause they did not want to agree and accept their mistake. They really need to mention it properly on their menu specially cause it's very tiny and we had ordered a completely vegetarian dish!! The least they can do is reconfirm

We loved this little hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant on Overtoom, where the cook does his magic with the wok in the front window. You can order a dish from the menu or choose the specific ingredients you want -- various kinds of noodles or rice, various kinds of meat or other protein, vegetables, toppings, and so on. We tried the Krabi chicken and the Shimi Shimi, and both were terrific. I was unable to eat more than half of my very large serving, although my husband devoured all of his. The guy at the cash register was very nice (and spoke great English, which helped since we speak no Dutch). All in all, a terrific place for lunch.

Cozy little place with delicious food. Fresh and warm food that comes to your table in a few minutes is just a miracle. Clean restaurant and super friendly stuff. Would definitely come back for some noodles once again❤️ p.s. sorry didn’t take any pictures, was busy enjoying food

Chicken Udon in Teriyaki Sauce

This was a delicious lunch spot! Cheap eats, stir fry. Made in 10 mins. You can pick your rice/noodle, then protein, then veggies, then sauce. There are endless options. Not to mention, healthy portions! So much that I couldn’t finish in one setting. When I ate the rest later, it was just as delicious if not more delicious then when it first came out. Highly recommend! Edit - love it so much, I came twice during my 5-day trip!

Slechtste bezorging ooit!! Bestel hier niet!!!! Via ubereats besteld, na anderhalf uur nog steeds geen update. 2x gebeld en er werd ons verteld dat het max 10 minuten zou duren, maar na nog een uur was het er nog steeds niet. Hierna waren ze onbereikbaar via de telefoon en hebben we zelf maar een pizza gehaald. Nogmaals, bestel hier niet!

Hele slechte bezorging. Via thuisbezorgd besteld, zou 45 minuten duren. Uiteindelijk ruim 2 uur moeten wachten op eten wat ook nog eens tegen viel. Ondertussen minstens 10 keer gebeld om een update te vragen, maar er word simpelwel gewoon niet opgenomen. Nooit meer bestellen hier.

Nog nooit zo een dramatische service ervaren. Nadat ik een bestelling heb geplaatst bleek de order verkeerd te zijn, ik vervolgens telefonisch contact opnemen en proberen me verhaal uitleggen. Krijg ik een of andere manager aan de lijn, die smakend aan de lijn zonder enig fatsoen praat. Troep bedrijf, vandaar ook de lage beoordeling op thuisbezorgd.

Would give them 0 stars if it was possible! Our order never arrived and this is after calling twice and being assured it was on its way! After waiting over an hour beyond original delivery time, I called a third time only to hear my ordered was incorrectly cancelled. No appology was offered. Needless to say we will never order from them again.

Small eat in area and lots of take out. Good honest eaterie with excellent authentic food cooked in front of you. Fair price and nice atmosphere.

First of all, kudos to the creative name :-) With the Vondel park at walkable distance, the restaurant name makes more sense :D The vegetarian noodles were tasty and the quantity was sufficient to fill 2 empty stomachs on a rainy day.

Take a wok krijgt van mij 5 sterren, als ik er meer kon geven had ik dit zeker gedaan. Heerlijk eten! Normaal eet ik niet zo snel kip, maar bij Take a wok heb ik er heerlijk van genoten + het is ook nog eens halal. Bedankt hiervoor.

Interessting was the fact that they cleaned the wok every time they had to cook a new order - something I liked. The portion was very satisfying and the staff very friendly.

Do not eat here. Food was awful and there was a STAPLE in my food. How does this even happen? It must be such a dirty disorganized environment for this to happen. I still haven’t received a refund for this. So gross.
