I don't usually write negative reviews as it hurts the business but TechCity is an exception. (2 min read) Long story short, I bought an "open box" Honeywell tower heater on a Monday. I asked the store clerk if I can bring it back to the store for a refund just in case it doesn't work. I was told I can. Plugged in the Heater at home and it started making a rattling noise. Packed up the heater and brought it back to the store on Tuesday. I was offered a replacement heater right away. I requested a refund instead. The clerk who confirmed the previous day that I could get a refund, simply said that they only offered a refund on unopened products and the fact that I opened the box, I won't get a refund. How can I open a box when it was bought as an "open box" item in the first place? As I was questioning the clerk a bit more, the store manager(AJ presumably) jumped in the conversation and said he doesn't give refunds. I asked why and all he said was "I clearly told you last night that there aren't any refunds on heater purchases". (I never dealt with him during my purchase and only spoke to the clerk right from walking into the store until payment). But I kept pushing for a refund, AJ then insults me by asking "Can you read English? On your receipt it clearly says no refunds". I pointed out that the no refund policy on the receipt indicates that it applies to new products being opened and used, however my purchase was "open box" to begin with. In the end he agreed to give me 75% of my money back saying that the remaining 25% is a re-stocking fee. This was really unfair in my opinion, as all he had to do was put up the heater for sale again under the "open box" category. It's a shame I had to go through this because I had initially walked into the store after reading all the positive google reviews. Maybe I am in the wrong. Maybe I misunderstood their refund/replacement policy, but I certainly did not deserve to be insulted by the store manager AJ and be charged a 25% fee. It says a lot about this business. If you do decide to buy from them, please make sure you ask all questions about their refund/replacement policy. Learn from my mistake.

Every great business knows that if they take good care of their customers in a friendly and professional manner and HELP THEM FIND what they are looking for, and give them a good deal that the customer wouldNbe HAPPY WITH, they will come back to them in the future again and even refer new customers to them. With that said, My experience at this store location with AJ and Abdul was a great one. They are very friendly, professional, polite and caring. They actually do care about giving you the best possible deal that they can, to make you a happy customer. So there is absolutely no reason at all, that they would be rude to anyone. Any negative reviews written on here, was written most likely from a bitter/revengeful customer, that purchased something, used it for a while, wanted to return it back and get a full refund but did not succeed. You cannot do that. They cannot accept used items and resell them as NEW. That would be against the store business ethics and policies. So this is most likely why the customer(s) is writing a bad review, because they couldn't get a refund on their item that was already used for a long time. Because how would the next customer feel knowing that they bought an already used item but thought it was NEW? So they have every right to not accept a USED ITEM back in the store for re-sell. I give AJ and Abdul and this store location, 5 STARS. I would be more than happy to come again for future purchases. These guys have positive and friendly personalities. I highly recommend coming here ☺

I strongly recommend you not shop at this store. The service is poor, they sell old and faulty products under the guise of open box and do not adhere to their policies. I purchased a laptop from these crooks and after 1 day I realized that the laptop was faulty. I went back to the store to get an exchange but after checking their current stock, there was nothing that really appeased me. I then requested a refund but to my surprise they were adamant that they would only do an exchange or store credit. Mind you this, on their website and the receipt, it states that "refund will be issued within 7 days based on purchase price for DEFECTIVE ITEMS." These people have no manners or respect for their customers, all they care about is trying to con people out of their hard earned money. I would never buy anything from this store ever again and if you want value for your money and quality service, I strongly suggest you look else where. I only gave 1 star as i couldn't submit post with selecting one.

I bought a Tab 8 inch yesterday, sales person name Mr.Ali (store kennedy and lawrence) , The Tab I bought it for my son to do his online class. Box was open. I did setup and kids learning website doesn't open. Right way I back to the store Mr. Ali said , you have to buy higher price one. He asking me very expensive one. I said i cant buy now i want my money back. He told me this is final sale. But he didn't told me before no refund policy, he told me first time any problem, we will take care. This place is only cheap and talking business. I will never go to buy anything. They gave me store credit which i really don't need. I want my money back. I will never go to buy anything this place. Techcity taking only advantage from the customer. Thank you for your one time business.

Well when I first rated this place I thought they had good prices. Then days after the very short warrantee period the screen crapped out and reluctantly I paid to have it replaced. Now 3 years later I am getting a notice on my computer that my Microsoft 10 software is expiring and after calling Microsoft they said I needed to purchase valid software. I have never heard of this in my life. So I purchased a computer from Tech City on Kennedy Rd and it seems they are selling illegal software according to Microsoft but they do not care. I have emailed the store. I have emailed both of the principals of the chain and to date they ignored me. Anyone that thinks they are getting a good deal from Tech City are taken as was I. I am extremely disappointed with the terrible service.

Stay away from this store at all costs. They have the worst customer service. I called and asked the price for a standing projector screen, went into the store and a guy with a wig on came towards me. You can clearly tell this guy was wearing a wig and I'm sure he was the owner, he asked what I'm looking for? I said I called about the projector screen, he takes me to it, I asked for price and he rudely replies...I already told u on the phone. I ginuenly forgot the price so I asked and he rudely said that and walked away. Had to go after him and get the price and received no help. Because of this, I left the store and literally found the same screen down the street for 10 dollars cheaper. These guys r not worth your time.

DO NOT go here for a phone. I purchased one last year and within 3 months I was having issues with it. Realized the phone is from the US not Canada so I would have to send it back to US to have it fixed. Also when i called the US they said the one year warranty was already finished for this phone so i would have to pay to have if fixed even though I only had the phone for a few months. Then the earphones inside were not Samsung they were some other brand. Do not buy a phone here it is a scam go anywhere else. When I spoke to someone who worked there they said they will only look at the issue if it's within a month. I told him what happened and he didn't seem to care. Again do not buy a phone from here.

Supose to be a great phone, but not so great. key board problem.Today I am a very happy person, I have a Samsong phone that just keeps surpriseing me with fabulous options. Great little tech store especially if you're looking for older items. They have everything here but I had to pop by for some Dual Layer DVD's to install an OS image. Noone seemed to carry DVD's anymore so I went to TechCity and sure enough, they had a few different options for me. I was able to get a spindle for a great price and the young man helping me was nice enough to give me a discount on top of that. I'll always try to support the small business and/or Mom and Pop store before heading to the big box stores. The staff was very polite and knowledgeable - Id definitely go back in the future. Especially nowadays when small businesses try hard to survive.

Gave my laptop for repair - The guy told me to come at 8:00 PM to collect and said it would cost 85$. Even though I know that 85$ for keyboard cleaning is expensive, I gave the laptop because it was immediate requirement. I went back at 8 to only see my laptop untouched. They were so unapologetic and didn't even bother making me come over, this guy had my number and details written on the sheet and he could have at least given me a call. The other guy was super rude when he said that they're too busy with umpteen services - he was actually sitting on one of the television boxes, listing to songs and fidgeting his mobile. Pretty unprofessional in my opinion.

This is my personal experience: i went to buy a s7 edge for $525 brand new, thinking the price is really amazing and all, i check the box, and it didn't look right, so ask the guy why is the box like that? He tell me, 'you have good eyes, as you can see, the box is fake, but the phone is real.' A little bit shocked, i say to myself, if they claim the phone is real, then where is the real box? i got really suspicious after the phone itself seemed a little light and poor material. Anyways i did not buy that phone, and recommend buyers to be careful when buying flagship phones like the s7 & s7 edge, as there are so many replicas out there.

1 star for fooling us. I went here with my wife, who jump on a AC, that I didn't want to buy because it looked beat up but CHEAP. It was sold to us as new, yet the box looked beat up. Everything is second hand in this store. The AC was leaking and flooded our house over night. I went through drop the heavy AC and was refused service. First they said it was because I DIDN'T know how to use AC. Then they offered me exchange, which I took. The second AC wasn't shooting cold air. So I tried returning it but there's no returns as sneaked in to the receipt. I had to waste the $290 but never buying in this place again.!!

I brought in my daughter's iPhone 6 for repair or replacement today. It is still under the 30 day warranty. The phone will not power on. They think it is an issue with the battery. They promised me a replacement within 3 days. Will let you know about the service once I receive the phone on Sunday as promised. For now I will give them 1 star, depending on the overall service I may give them additional stars....will re-post again on Sunday .....to be continued...... They replaced the unit with a new one. All is good now.

GUYS AVOID THIS PLACE. I WARN YOU. I went there even after reading the negative reviews and it was a mistake I made. The guys out there lie on everything and try to sell the item. I went there for a screen replacement for my old iphone and now I’m typing this from my new phone because of the number of issues I had on the old phone after they fixed that. I even came to find out that they had taken out parts from my phone and replaced with cheap stuff. I will make you pay for what i lost.

The staff here is really rude and no help at all. They sell fake phones that aren’t even worth paying for, I would’ve rather gone to Rogers to buy a phone if I had known about this scam ahead of time. They sell boot leg phones and when you take it back they only offer you half of the amount you paid for it. I recommend you guys not to go here it’s a waste of time. Also when you purchase an item Aj tells you to write a good rating and give him 5 starts to make him look good.

TechCity to the rescue! I needed a laptop charger and came to a store across the street from TechCity and it was closed. My husband notice this place as we were leaving and we decided to give this place a try. I am so glad we stopped here. Very friendly staff and excellent service. Will definitely recommend this place. They let us try the charger at the store to make sure that it works. The prices are reasonable as well (similar to that of Amazon). Highly recommend.

Unprofessional. Bunch of scammers. Posted a great deal on marketplace then when we got there the deal that they offered doesn't even exist and just offered me whatever they have. Then they told me their other store has it, drove all the way downtown during rush hour when i got there still nothing. Same thing. Totally disappointing. Yes they have great deals and all that, but this store doesn't have integrity and rude staffs.

If I could give 0 stars I would. He posted a tv on FB marketplace and then told me I had to go to the store to pick it up. They recommended that I purchase a different tv and I did, but when I got home and connected it the tv kept fading to a laggy red screen. I brought it back and they were extremely rude and would not honor the warranty. Better to go to Best Buy, better service and product for not much more.

Just ordered online a Noma air conditioner and get notified later on that I will have the Koolking air conditioner because Noma was out of stock. I went to pick up anyway the product and whrn I opened to install the air conditioner to realize is an used product not even an open box.. I tried to call the store several time but no one to pick up the phone. VERY DISAPPOINTED, A PLACE TO AVOID AR ALL COST..

They took my friend's hard drive and made copies of her personal information. The hard drive was taken out of the store and made it in to the owner's vehicle. When asking AJ for the manager's phone number to contact him and make a complaint, he refused to give it. AJ is very deceiving and manipulating. I am awaiting a response from the store owner as to how he will handle this situation.

Bought an iPhone and they switched the original charger and earphones for fake. I discovered later on, challenged them and they changed it. This should never be an issue( originals should be in the box where they belong). It’s honestly better to buy your phone someplace else, it took about 3weeks for my phone too. Staff is pretty okay though. From an unhappy customer.

Scam!!!! Keep your fingers away!!!! Dont deliver on time, are absolutely not reliable and dont keep their promise. The cheap price is equal to what you can expect: no service, broken promises and absolutely no customer service. Very disappointing and I would advise everyone to buy your electronics for maybe a bit more money but with warranty, and no scammers.

Got the worst customer service experience today when I enquired for a purchase I did before. The guy I was talking to walked away from me, never made eye contact and his head was on a soccer game that was playing at the time. Rude if you ask me, I can name a couple of computer stores around that had better service. Sorry but I’m never coming back there.

Great place to shop and the prices are reasonable. I was going to look for a laptop ending up buying that with upgrades, a cell phone & a SD card! The sales people were there to help and were ready to make deals. Poor customer service. Lies and deception. Upgraded from a neotech box to an X96air with go live, and nothing works. Started a week ago, went in today(Nov27,2022), they said it's a server issue resolved in a couple hours, catching them their lies after I had told its been glitching for a week now. Garbage, don't waste ur time or money here.

Bought a laptop charger through BestBuy Marketplace from TechCity. Two weeks went by, no updates, tracking number was invalid, messaging the seller failed, BestBuy support said they were contacting TechCity but they never responded. Nobody will give me a refund. This has just been a scam from the beginning. Will never deal with them again.

Horrible place. Bought a phone from them. Screen cracked easily. Took it back. Paid $250 for a used screen with a line running down the side. Then they wanted to charge me another $150 to fix the defective used screen they put on. Do not buy phones from they. They are all used and parts are not OEM. Please be aware of this scam.

Great customer service I have bought 4 cell phones from this store.3 Samsung Galaxy s5 1 Samsung Galaxy s6 never any issues with the cell phones I recommend this store for cheap cell phones. I have also bought 2 air conditioning units in the summer from this store no issues with them what so ever.

These guys sold my iPad which was stolen from me. Went I went to ask them about it they told me I had to pay to see their camera footage. After I had went to the store they shipped it to their other location because I had called the cops. They didn’t even turn off the find my device.

Bought my TV from here, good service & really good prices. TV was older series because I needed an digital antenna hook up you can only get on the older models. Been using it over a yr with no issues, did come with 1yr warranty. Very satisfied customer, would recommend them.

Customer service was incredible as the staffs were very outgoing and friendly! Although we lost the receipt for the phones, AJ and other staffs were generous enough to exchange the phones without any hesitations and extra charges. Would definitely recommend them!
