Saw most of the comments below and realised that most the staff in that store have communication issues. They should learn the manner and how to treat costumers from Aldi or Lidl. If the staff are not happy to work there, why are they still working to annoy the costumers. Go somewhere else to make their end meat. Personally encountered today at 6:45 pm (22.3.22). The plump woman with false long lashes and long hair was talking to a lady ( seems like someone she knows) for a while. I was waiting for the costumer service staff to attend. When I asked her she was so rude and unhelpful, saying that the service was closed and can’t do anything for me. And also told me not to take the carrier. She walked away after she finished talking near the coffee machine. Only in 2 minutes, the costumer service staff arrived and rectified the food that I was overcharged. Literally, the plump woman is not only rude she is a liar too. She should learn from the bottom from the Aldi staffs’. She seems like undereducated. I’ll visit this store next time just to look for her to see what is her name and I’ll update it here. Otherwise, tesco staffs will be continuing rude to the customers.

Very good Tesco store. In a convenient location and very accessible. Close to Sydney Parade DART station and the bus stops to take you into and out of the city center are right in front as well. Large enough parking area in the basement. The store is quite large, and you'll find almost everything you would look to buy in a supermarket. Has a nice deli section, as well as a really good butcher shop and a fish market. Carries a decent selection of beer and wine and spirits as well. Inside a small shopping center that has more service stores that shops, so convenient if you need to do a couple of things at once. The place is also open late (midnight on weekdays) which is rather convenient. If you're going there in late in the evening, go through the side door or the basement parking lot door as the Merrion road door gets locked. Quite clean and the staff is always nice. Forgot my card there one time, staff retrieved it for me. The wait at the cash register is rarely long. They might up the number of self checkout registers. There's often a line there.

In comparison to other Tesco Supermarkets, this store is very well stocked - pity about the staff. It has various products and stocks more range than many other stores, especially if you want something from Tescos own range. The only downside to the store is its staff - they are so rude. While serving an elderly woman in front of me, the girl on the checkout stopped serving the woman to do something else and ignored the woman for a good 3 minutes while she did this. Not so much as an apology or excuse. So rude. Then after she rushed me through, I moved my heavy bags over to the end of an empty checkout to reshuffle my handbag to my other shoulder and another staff member came over to move me on. (Not very subtly I might add!) Seeing as the checkout was empty and I stopped for all of 15 seconds to adjust my handbag and 2 heavy bags of groceries I just purchased in their supermarket, I found this to be the height of bad customer service. I couldn't get out of there fast enough, wouldn't return in a hurry to this not-so-super store.

Excellent, large supermarket with ample, free underground parking. Open from 7am on Weekdays and Saturday, there's a good selection of fresh and packaged food, vegetables and own-brand and third-party meals and products. Notably, there's a very good fish-counter, a comprehensive off-licence and a very good selection of cheeses. There's a nice Italian selection with charcuterie, as well as foods if the world. Self-checkout is available, which is useful as this is a busy supermarket. There's also a small household section with small electrics, mops and pots and pans. Also, there's a useful (home) office aisle with essentials like paper and printer cartridges. Located inside the Merrion Shopping centre, its accessibility and parking make it a really good destination store.

This is a big store. One of advantage is that on front of tesco there is bus stop 479. It is extremely convenient to purchase groceries from here and catch the bus. Their bakery section is huge and they have all most all types of breads available. They also have good pricing for many products. In terms of vegetables and fruits they have wide variety available. There are many vegan food options also available at reasonable price. This store is also nice for cakes they have many varieties of cakes for different occasions. Staff is very friendly and always ready to help. Their beverages section has many offerings. During checkout they have many self checkout machines which makes billing very easy and fast. Overall this is a good store with great connectivity to bus.

Very disappointed with the disgusting service of a lady employee. Was awaiting for approval needed in self scan pay of Tesco and asked the help from a lady employee who was standing beside me over the self scan queue , she rejected the offer after saw me . I awaited for more than 5 minutes with my daughter 8 months old to help us out for approval needed but later a gentleman came and he approved . Time is 17:45 on 02/11/2023 at Tesco Merrion Dublin 4 when I interacted with the lady employee . Was it racism ? Very disgusting that how can she refused to help when needed . She is paying for that . Never experienced before . Tesco management should look after this type of such behaviour which may uncomfortable to customer and can replicate the name on Tesco brand

Staff can be very rude and unhelpful. Every time I go there is no rolling baskets and very rarely any regular baskets - you have to go past each till and look for them. Again today I experienced rude staff, so much so that I won't bother going back. I'm unpacking my shopping at the far end of the belt while someone is paying and despite that shopper being three screens away I have a staff member bark at me to get behind the green line. This isn't the case in any other Tesco like Stillorgan where the staff are polite & helpful. The girl being trained on the till was very nice, the girl training her and shouting at me was not and should be watching/helping the trainee rather than texting on her phone at the till.

Good store and most of the staff are great, but the man who stocks the shop in The stationery and surrounding aisles is very rude. I walked in looking for a whiteboard, lifted one, decided it was not right for me and put it back down. He walked over and readjusted its placement after I had put it down by 0.5cm. He then started to curse under his breath at me. This is not just a single interaction with this man as this happens all the time with him. The rest of the staff are great.

  • Owen O Neill (Wacky Tacky)

Everyone that has given a good review here is talking through there hoop , awful staff, ques do be huge with staff just standing around , the store manager and people in suits just stand around doing sweet f all , all the products have very little shelf life , no rotation , we went in on friday and there was blood from the fresh meat all on the front of store fridge, we went in again on the sunday the exact same blood was still there , absolutely disgusting place

  • Neil Green

Reading through the reviews here gave me a serious "Oh, so its not just me?" moment. The staff at this Tesco are so bad. Varying from uninterested to outright rude. I also think they have a total of 5 shopping baskets in this store. You have to hang out by the tills and wait for someone else to finish shopping to grab theirs. Weird unwelcoming vibes... They are usually well stocked though. Lots of self checkout tills as well.

  • Amy Gilbert

My car battery died nd I had no jump leads i had a three year old with me nd had to get home to collect my son from school i knocked on the security hatch nd the gentleman there got me jump leads and got another member of staff who got her car nd gave me a jump start. I can't commend them enough for there help nd the efficiency to which it was given. You both know who you are thanks a mil :-)

Due to the covid 19, I specifically went through the Tesco website and confirmed that 9-10 am of Wednesday is specially for people over 65. So I arrived at 8 am, however, was refused to shop. The gatekeeper said that 7-9 am is for home care, which I didn’t found any information related in Tesco website. Unhappy about that. Waste my time and emotion.

  • Stephen Kearney

“Superstore” is a bit of a joke of a description - closes at 8pm on a bank holiday Monday, despite advertising open until 10pm. Used to be open 24 hours, then until midnight, then until 10pm, now until 8pm. Why don’t they just pack up and go back to England if this is the joke of a service they offer (not to mention illegal false advertising).

  • David Morton

Ok selection and service but if you want the freshest quality produce forget it. You can save 5 cent on chicken fillets on any 3 for €10. Thanks Tesco great incentive your so generousAt least they are not as expensive as they used to be thanks to Lidl and Aldi. They really used to rob us back in the Celtic tiger years. …

  • Teddy Edward

I think the staff at check out today (1.15pm) go above and beyond for customers as they deal with a continuing insane number of things that can go awry with Wi-Fi, club card, credit card, points, credits, cash, devices, rebates, etc etc, all at a till queue where people want to kill you before waiting an extra minute.

  • Paulo Lush Imports

An absolute joke, saturday 7.30pm and there is only one open till, and I keep seen employees playing with their phones while people queuing up for minutes, and when waiying in the fish section and no one there EVERYTIME they butchers see you waiting, they wont say anything like, its closed or whatever, horrible CSS

  • Beth M

As a woman, shopping alone I was Shocked to realised that I was followed by security/euro car park personnel for up to 32 mins and left feeling very violated. Not feeling very safe in Mount merrion shopping centre, and this can’t be right and very shocked that Tesco Management endorsed this policy!

  • Joanna McGuinness

Staff Has a huge impact on business. If they are overworked or stressed, they will end up mistreating costumers, like I was today. When we ask for help, don't treat us like we are dumb and an an inconvenience. Let us at least finish a question before you assume the worst of us. We are all people.

  • Matthew Ward

Guy at the deli counter definitely let me know I was a massive inconvenience because I asked for 2 chicken fillet rolls, my friend then proceeded to order one after me and was told "would you not have ordered them together" - get a grip, if I spoke to a customer like that in my job I'd be sacked

  • Tom Hayes

Literally just heard a staff member say to his boss 'Thats not my problem' when asked to serve some customers as he was sitting around chatting to his mate.. the place is also not clean and very poor selection. Only use if you have no other options.

  • Matteo Fornasier

This Tesco is great! Free parking. It is spacious and have a very wide range of products. It is as well open until midnight and as well during the weekend until late. It is very handy to get the shopping cart upstairs and leave it empty downstairs.

  • Félim Doyle

A good variety of food and household items. The underground car park has very tight spaces and some drivers have difficulty with this. As a result, I and other family members have suffered damage to our vehicles over the years.

  • Pat Kinsella

Super clean store, beautiful display of fresh produce. Lots of Special offers to be had. Wine Special selling fast. First two hours parking free. Super friendly international staff, interesting interpretation of local culture.

  • Mina Kocic

Used to be great place. Unfortunately, since the virus measures were implemented it doesn't stock basic supplies at the times open for general public. Waste of my time. No one follows distancing guidelines in the store.

  • David Heath Williams

This is a upper class Tesco. It has a great fresh foods section really bright and airy place to shop. The Tesco sandwich meal deal is the best offer around. Parking underneath the building is convenient.

  • Kevin Byrne

Harrased out of store before 10pm aufull staff. they care more about there staff than there customers .remember,no customers, means no staff we are the ones paying your wages. Best shop in dunnes stores,

  • Thiana Fitzhugh

Just had a horrible old woman teller not accept my ID even though it was valid, and then got really bitchy and rude at me. I have always gone to this tesco, and will never again. Way to ruin my day.

  • Louise Lemass

Very good, lovely elderly lady at the checkout. Most helpful, food as fresh as possible, also got a few things at the just out of date counter for my freezer, all around a good experience

  • Calum Morrow

Great prices, well laid out, good offers on meat, wish there was a larger stand for meat going out of date soon where you could get it cheaply, great idea for the local students!

  • jpmc MOTOR

seriously lads the queue for the checkouts is getting ridicules frozen food is not frozen anymore by the time one returns to the domicile after the now standard 20 mins in a line

  • Gary Costello

  • Rachel Downes

Large Tesco Superstore but regularly items are out of stock - very frustrating. Nearby Sandymount store is much more pleasant and well stocked with plenty of staff to help.

  • Hugh Plunkett

Very large store in a good location walking distance from many bus stops, Sydney parade dart station, and UCD. Free parking is also available in the underground car park.

Exceptional customer service by Ahmad this evening when I was caught in a bind with my son in St Vincent’s AE. He couldn’t have been more helpful. Thank you so much Ahmad

  • Gerry Scullion

The food is always a day or two away from going off and not the best quality in the area. It's worth going to Super Valu if you can for better deals/qualoty/freshness

  • Manu Varghese

Used to be a realy good spot for groceries . Staff are so rude so does the managers. I recommend Dunnes over Tesco becuase of the way they run the Merrion Store

  • Scum Bags

Difficult car park at times. But at least it's out of the rain. Fair selection of shops including a newsagents, butchers, and a Timpson. No ATM though.

  • i rarely comment ok

  • Anthony Fritsch

Convenient supermarket with easy parking. You can tell they are making efforts to renovate and make it look better like the fruits and vegs aisle.

  • Jeff Dunn

Great option compared to other stores in Dublin. Selection is solid but veggies are pretty much all packaged. Clean and fast experience though.

  • Andreea Diana Ratiu

  • Roisin Murphy

The rudest staff I have ever come across. How some of them haven’t been sacked is beyond me. The manager needs to sort this out asap.

  • Alex Floss-Jones

Probably the biggest tesco near the city centre. Great for speciality food and spices too. Massive fresh meat and deli counter too.

  • Amr Abdelhafez

I asked the staff about some hygienic product and they replied/treated me very bad, the communication was not good at all...

  • Konstantinos Karonis

During several weekend afternoon visits, I found the fresh food isle not being restocked. Better to visit in the morning.

  • michael shortall
