My husband had a heart attack early Saturday morning. He was admitted to Harris SW immediately from the emergency room in Burleson. He went through the usual admission process, noting his routine meds, etc. Then his day nurse arrived. As an RN myself, I have held little respect for the poor care provided by many hospitals, but then we met Floyd. Floyd was amazing. He included me, playing the part of wife (not nurse) in all explanations, care being provided, changes to his EKG, calling in additional nurses with more experience in treating heart attacks, all aspects of the care being provided. He showed total respect for Jim and for me. He was gentle, concerned, and actually “nursing”. He reminded me of how nursing was when I chose the profession 45 years ago. I left in the early evening. Floyd called, explained who he was, asked how I was and if I could return that evening. He went on to explain that Jim was having a stent placed that night and wanted to know if I could safely return or if he should call someone to drive me back. I said I would be back, then he said not to rush because I would not get there before he went in, but being there when he returned to his room was more important. He then waited until Jim was back in his room, told us he was okay, and that the doctor would be out to talk with us. Fortunately, Floyd was Jim’s nurse through Monday and continued to provide the perfect, compassionate, concerned, and true nursing care that Jim needed. Floyd is an amazing nurse and it obviously comes from his heart! This is not to say other caregivers were not really good, like Elizabeth, and another nurse whose name I didn’t get. But Floyd personifies what nursing is about. He has completely changed my opinion of some hospitals and we want to thank you for providing Floyd’s kind of care. Thank you to everyone involved in Jim’s care. I have my husband back! James and Meredith Tracy

Horrible and inconsistent family visitor policy. Gonzalo Severer at the ER check in desk is an abusive and rude employee. He acts like a robot and lacks interactive skills. When I said I came to pick up my mother after 7pm who has disabilities who was visiting my dad, her husband, who was a patient, I was asked for her to come down by herself. She is 85 y/o and on a cane. Then they allow the visitors for room 5255 who had 2 people to go to the same floor after me. Then they allowed someone named Mario, a nonrelative, to bring food to room 2226. Then I was told, "they have different policies for different people" as I questioned Gonzalo. The charge nurse on 8/28/2022 Jane or Jasmine didn't want people to see my father, but allowed other visitors on the floor. Gonzalo tries to get the police on me and the police help aid my mom in wheelchair to my car, instead of trying to escalate with me. Officer Newton was fantastic and he was there from start to finish and knows the details. Then my mom finally gets down and she tells me a nurse told her she could make it down by herself. I then want to now talk to someone in charge and 15 min later the "head nurse" of the hospital Kim W. comes down to quote the visitor policy to me. When asked why I was able to visit before after 7pm and why others got to visit the same floor the same night of 8/28/2022, she just kept quoting policy was no visitors after 7pm and then after giving the examples of it not being a consistent policy, she flips it said it is a case by case basis. Her nonsensical answers were ridiculous and made no sense. If this is your unit, it is a mess. Discriminatory treatment of family of patients and an uncaring attitude. This whole treatment of my mom now has her worried of the treatment of her husband since they won't allow anyone to be there with him.

Firstly, my nurse who saw me throughout my pregnancy, Dr.Drew Rainer is excellent. I was not pleased with my experience at labor and delivery. Firstly, there was no preparation whatsoever during delivery, even though I told the nurse the baby was coming, she didn't take it seriously. She had to quickly call a random nurse outside to help. Secondly, the post delivery bathroom was filthy with cracked toilet; I could also see traces of blood on the wall, probably from another patient. I asked to have a room change, my room was changed that midnight, which was stressful on its own. Throughout my stay at the new room, noone came in to clean until the 3rd day. It's VERY disgusting to have patients who just delivered, with frequent blood cleanup be in a room without a daily cleanup and soiled trash pickup. The bed was hard as rock. I felt so much pain, not from delivery but from the hard rock bed and cardboard pillow. There was a lot of delay to have the car seat checked for safety, it was continually postponed due to too many patients, they stated. My baby's SSN was never sent, even though I filled out all information and requested for it to be sent. I called the SSN office and there was no record, I have to go into the office myself, which is stressful. For someone who just had a baby, my experience at this hospital was disappointing. It also added more stress to my life. Forcing medication on patients even after complaining of adverse reaction and feeling dizzy/fainty is WRONG. I had all notes and recordings ready to sue those nurses Incase anything happens to me. The overall hospital itself is clean and beautiful. I have given birth before at different hospitals and had great experiences. This is my worst experience so far.

As a provider, I haven’t had the best experience with this hospital in the past so I was hesitant when I was told my mother in law was admitted. She was admitted on Thursday after a bilateral embolic stroke. She went to the ER at Harris SW and was taken back within a couple of minutes. Mary (ER RN) was super helpful and reassuring. Paul (pt coordinator) helped to preserve her dignity and treated her like a human , even in the midst of chaos. She was later taken to her room on the 4th floor. Sara- RN 4th floor - so patient and helpful, answered questions. Her spirit was so calming Paul- pt coordinator -helpful, kind, treated my mother in law like a human, preserved her dignity Mary- ER nurse- she was so good in a crisis. She was patient with my mother in law, despite my mother in law being stubborn. She never lost patience on the front end and we appreciate it. Krystina- RN 4th floor- she was our favorite nurse. She was proactive, assertive, kind, patient, understanding, and funny. Her bedside manner is truly a 30 out of 10! Bethany- PCT- she went above and beyond to make my mother in law comfortable, reassuring her that she wasn’t a bother. Please tell her we hope she gets back to playing the violin and learns that French horn. Skylar- PCT- like Bethany, she truly was a beacon of light in such a scary time. PCTs are truly the backbone of units and they carry so much, so to be so kind …we appreciate it. Dr Kahn - explained things in a way we could understand. We have high expectations for care, as our family has many helping professionals. Thank you for taking care of my mother in law. Thank you for making visitation easy. Your staff that we encountered definitely went above and beyond and we appreciate it. Sarah

Started with ER neglecting to run tests as ordered, leaving the patient, my husband, in a sitting room with other patients (no one else allowed other than patients) for over 4 hours. Finally did the CT then said they had to send it out to be read, so would be a couple more hours. Finally moved him to an ER room at 9:30 PM…7 hrs since arrival. Waited in that room until noon the next day, then was admitted to a “semi-private” room made for only 1patient, due to “overcrowding “. Nurse started getting him hooked up to everything, left to get something, and did not return until I went to find someone. The room has 1 TV, located on the other side of the room and cannot even be seen by my husband, 1 remote, already claimed by the other patient, one phone, no electrical outlets on the whole side of the room so he can’t even charge his cell phone. No chair on his side of the room…had to ask for someone to get one. Asked to talk to the patient advocate. The nurse said she put in the request; never heard from her. I called today and left a message for the patient advocate…still no call from her. So in addition to being physically ill, my husband is laying in bed with nothing to help pass the time. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!

Delivered my baby here via C section 3 weeks ago. The labor and delivery team was fantastic about making sure baby and I were healthy. However, I am EXTREMELY disappointed and upset about the lack of breastfeeding support I received. The lactation consultants came and I know now ( 3 weeks later after my milk supply has almost dried up) that my baby cannot latch correctly. They didn’t tell me he couldn’t. The just hinted he might have a tongue tie and read through the booklet with me and watched me feed incorrectly the whole time. He got the tongue tie clipped but they never followed up with me. He still cannot latch and most likely has another tongue tie. I thought everything was fine because they didn’t say he was latching shallow in the first place. Now I have to go somewhere else to get that figured out and it will be a harder recovery/adjustment since my baby is older. I don’t think I would ever deliver here again because of this. I feel so unsupported and that is not how a new mom should feel. I called to ask for help and they basically said, “Sorry, COVID, maybe call these numbers?”. I just need help.

I had my baby there on September 28th, and the whole time I was there the doctors and nurses that took care of me were nothing but kind, helpful, and insightful! Marci (RN for L&D), Dr. Beasley (Anesthesiologist), Dr. Bradley (operated and delivered my baby via c-section), and all the other nurses during my time in the L&D ward were so amazing! And the nursing staff in the Mother Baby Ward were just as exceptional - especially Lindsay (RN), Sarah (RN), and all the student nurses doing their rotations! I got great advice from the lactation specialist and the pediatricians that came to check on my baby were also spectacular. Very appreciative of the staff that helped me through everything and would definitely recommend! :)

Currently sitting here. First timer accompanying my sister in law. Have been here for about an hour and a half already. Waiting room is full. Needless to say I have seen at least 10 people walk out due to excessive wait times. There was a gentleman who just told the check in person a few moments ago if they could see him because he was having a stroke mind you, half of his face is droopy or if she could do something to make it go sooner and she said no. Also NOTE: Every patient that walks in she asks "do you have any stroke like symptoms" He told her he was going to leave and she said "ok" no sympathy. If this guy ends up with a true stroke unacceptable. We are leaving as I am typing. Ridiculous!

This was my first experience with a THR hospital, but my second time giving birth. I didn't even realize how not-great my first birth experience was until I gave birth here. Everything was amazing. The L&D nurses were awesome, the recovery nurses were awesome. I had to be readmitted a week after giving birth due to some complications and everyone was so accommodating. The L&D ED staff was great. The staff on the l&d floor were great, even though I had already given birth the found a way to ensure my newborn could stay with me while I was treated. I can't say enough good things about my experience at this hospital. If I ever have to give birth again we will absolutely be going here

If you love your family member do not take them here. My mother was taken to the ER by ambulance after having an accident. The response time of the staff was slow and the people were rude. It took awhile to simply get her an IV and if my dad didn’t say anything it would have been longer. I can confidently say she would be in worst shape had she not of had someone there to advocate for her. This hospital is full of jaded employees who obviously don’t care for the livelihood of their patients and watch the clock waiting for it to be time for them to go home. Please ignore this location when looking at hospitals to go to. Your life or the life of someone you love can depend on it.

The nurses and staff were fine but i did not like at all how the doctors there were. They just wanted to rush my mother out as fast as possible. The surgeon came by only once at 6am after the surgery and noticed her foot was broke for the first time, ordered a boot. It showed up a day later and just sit in the room never one talked about it with us again. On her final day a doctor finally made pain med changes but she was gone that afternoon so it didn't matter. They gave us no time to find a rehab facility. On top of all that they discharged her on Christmas Day. The best possible care for her would have been to wait till she could move from the best to a wheelchair.

  • Richard Growald

I was screaming for 12 hours until they got me in for surgery to remove my gallbladder. I was forced to go without pain meds for four hours leading up to a redundant scan that was not even able to be completed due to how much pain I was in. I just got off the phone with the patient advocate. They are now fully aware of the situation and are going to move forward with what they have to. I could have gotten better care at JPS--which is saying a lot. Avoid this facility unless you have no other possible option. To everyone's lives I am about to reave through because you hate your job; if vengeance is hollow, you simply have not suffered enough. And I have suffered.

Cat scratched my husbands eye before leaving for vaca from Houston to Colorado on a Sunday. As we researched on our trip decided it would be best to get medical attention as we were approaching Ft. Worth. An urgent care I called referred us to this ER and we are so impressed with the level of their efficiency and care! Arrived at 3:30 and now it’s 4:35 and about to be discharged and head to nearby CVS to get meds. Every professional here was efficient and friendly! If we lived here we would definitely come back if we ever needed it. Best ER experience we’ve ever had and we have had our share of them over the years.

  • Stephen Menard

My brother and I took my mother to the ER here at noon on a Friday. I was prepared for the worst. If there is such a thing as a positive ER visit followed by an admission then we experienced it. It was more than the staff was exceptional and compassionate. The workflow was amazing. Instead of long periods of waiting, tasks such as registration, triage, lab work, x-rays were all accomplished before we had a room available. While I don't wish an ER visit on anyone and I do not want to have to do it again, I can't say enough about how our visit to Harris Southwest ER.

I delivered my baby here via c section on December 29,2020 it was my second c section and it was an awesome experience. Wonderful nurses and staffs. My doctor Timothy Jones was awesome as well, I healed very fast, the took good care of us, helped me with my cranky baby while I took a little break the nurse would help me out a bit as well, checked on me and baby at all times, food was wonderful!! And overall I’m having my 3 c section soon this September and I’m excited!!

  • Ellie Poyer

I had my baby here back in January! I have to say the nurses deserve a medal. Sweet & comforting, skilled at their jobs. The lady who did my epidural did it correctly & I didn’t suffer the side affects that I know some mamas deal with long term afterwards. If I were to have another baby- I’d come back here to do it. The night nurses went above & beyond in helping me with my daughter, did their best to let me sleep. Thank you to everyone!

  • Margy Carter

Absolutely awful. Suffering from massive chest pains, and they kept me in a waiting room for 3 1/2 hours. Customer service was horrible.Excuses I got from the nurses were it had been Super Bowl Sunday so a lot of people didn’t want to work. Don’t go there if you have an emergency ever, it might be Cinco de Mayo next time. When I asked to leave this is it have somebody get to me within the next hour to take my IV out took me 20 seconds.

  • Mark Flesher

Reviewing this hospital from a professional standpoint, as I have never been a patient here, I can definitely tell you that this hospital has had serious ups and downs. As of 2023, July, I think they are sort of in an up phase. If a family member or myself had to come here for emergency care, surgery, professional medical care, I don't think I would have a problem with it.

  • Paige Macias

From the anesthesia nurse with the lavender aromatherapy patch to our maternity department nurses, Sarah, Wendy, Macey, and Andrea, me and my son were well taken care of. Sarah in particular took the time to label our discharge papers so I would know which ones were for me and which ones were for my son. I am so glad I chose this hospital for my delivery.

  • Brianne Glasscock

I went here 3 times in one week for a respiratory infection all just because they refused to give me antibiotics to make it go away. One of the girls I work with is also sick with the exact same thing. Her doctor gave her antibiotics. They just gas light you and nickel and dime you. They don’t actually care if you get better or not.

We are excited to have a new grandson. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our daughter and new grandson are beautiful and fine. Thank you for a successful delivery. Please note the gift shop is not open on weekends from Friday -Sunday, so plan to bring gifts from somewhere else. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ …

The emergency room is filthy. Bathroom is filthy. Homeless people waiting and stinking to high heaven. The nastiest people i have ever seen practically sitting on top if me. I brought the smells home with me and 3 days later still trying to get the odor off me and out of my home.Does the health department condone this?

  • Candy S

I was thoroughly impressed by this hospital's modern and clean facilities, providing a comfortable environment for patients. The state-of-the-art equipment and exceptional medical staff, including the amazing doctors, ensure top-notch healthcare services. A true gem in the healthcare landscape!

  • Renee Vaughn

I am an LVN that called the ED on 5/26/23 to have a Pt sent for a procedure. Becky was whom I spoke with, she was very polite, and went above and beyond to assist me with getting my Pt care. She did not have to take the time she did to get ME answers but she did. The world needs more Becky's.

  • Debbie Giles

The nursing staff on the fourth floor was fantastic. They were so good caring for my special needs son. He was hospitalized for seven days and every nurse on every shift was so patient and gentle with him. I will forever be grateful for their expertise and warm and caring attitude.

  • Allison Watson

security forced my father to leave without receiving aftercare following a heart procedure. After leaving the building he requested a wheelchair and was refused. He did not receive medications they claimed they would provide after getting confirmation from another doctor.

  • Marcus Leverett

I have to come to this place for my work quite often and wanted to say how great of a job all the staff in most definitely the security team always is! Most definitely one of the best hospitals. Way to go security team. Keep up the great work!

  • Kenneth Coleman

I am here in support of my brother. But multiple tests were ran on him. And the Doctor (Blankenship) has been very Professional and 'informative'. We, ("the Family") believe that our brother is in the best of Medical care.

  • chelsey raines-mccurdy

Every doctor and nurse I had during my hospital stay was amazing. They only downside I experienced was I saw a really big cockroach in my room. I took a video of it because I thought I may have been hallucinating.

  • Fia

Worse hospital to get admitted to. My husband was here and the case worker convinced him that he was a burden to me. Telling him lies !!! I'm looking for a lawyer to sue !!!! They killed my husband !!!!

  • Laurie Hughes

Valet parking drop off and pickup is in an inconvenient location for those trying to pick up persons who are in the hospital. Limited food options for those that have to stay past 2pm

  • Lisa Ash

Dr. Rami Buchipudi was very attentive and communicated well with the patient's decision maker. He addressed all of my concerns for my loved one! She received the best care!

  • Tristan Chazarreta

4 stars but why do you close cafeteria at 2:30? People get hungry after 3pm and we had to leave the hospital to find something to eat very inconvenient.
