I will start with the restaurant, very nice decor, good quality food, nice ambience BUT, there was no red wine... Found this very strange for a Sunday afternoon! Service could have been better. Felt like the team didn't quite gel, I understand it was busy but the staff seemed preoccupied and that affected the experience a bit. There seemed to be a lack of communication between the staff, we were told things had run out when they hadn't, everything seemed quite rushed. I was called to change the time of my booking a few days before, I was fine with this but the reason they gave is because the kitchen shut before the time I had booked (I didn't realise this and my booking was accepted on the phone the first time round). People were still being seated after this time, which was strange as they told us lots of items had run out and I had been so rushed to order our meals. I also felt like I couldn't order dessert or coffee because the staff wanted to get home or something. Anyway, the roast dinner was very nice. Tasty, hot, good portions, succulent meat and nicely presented. Breakfast was also very nice, good quality food and buffet style. The room was spacious, with plenty of tea and coffee, a kettle and good TV with lots of channels. The shower was nice and the bed was comfy. However, when waking up in the morning, we discovered our bed sheets had come undone or unfolded from under the mattress so we had actually been sleeping directly on the mattress. We felt a bit dirty because of this and would have appreciated a mattress protector (especially in this climate with the bed bugs situation and COVID!) There was a slightly funny smell coming from either the shower, toilet or bathroom sink, I think it was the drains. It wasn't REALLY bad but definitely noticeable, fine if you keep the door shut. The walls and ceiling had lots of cracks and dents, the decor just needed a bit of TLC, with this it would have been perfect. There was also no toilet roll holder. The fixture was on the wall but the actual tube you put through the roll was missing so you kept having to reach over to the sink to use it! No problems parking, free parking/included in the price. I also felt very safe here, there was a good lock on the door. The radiator/heater was very good quality and there's also a window you can have open. Good space to be able to stow luggage and hang clothes. Bedside lamps would have been ideal but not essential. Overall, good value for money, just needs a bit of TLC and red wine behind the bar!

Exceptional Food and Drink Experience with Outstanding Service! I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Bournbrook Inn, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cozy atmosphere that set the tone for a memorable evening. First and foremost, the food at the Bournbrook Inn is simply amazing. Every dish we ordered was prepared to perfection, bursting with flavors that left our taste buds dancing with joy. The menu offers a wide variety of options, catering to different preferences and dietary needs. Whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian, or have specific dietary restrictions, you'll find something to satisfy your cravings here. The drink selection at the Bournbrook Inn is equally impressive. They have an extensive list of beverages, including a well-curated wine list and a range of craft beers. The bartenders are knowledgeable and passionate about their craft, ensuring that each drink is expertly crafted and pairs perfectly with the food. However, what truly sets the Bournbrook Inn apart is the exceptional service provided by Wayne, the general manager. Wayne went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. He was attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared about our satisfaction. He took the time to explain the menu, make recommendations, and even accommodated our special requests with a smile. Wayne's dedication to providing top-notch service truly made our evening unforgettable. The ambiance of the Bournbrook Inn is cozy and inviting, with a charming rustic decor that adds to the overall experience. The staff members are all friendly and professional, creating a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. In conclusion, if you're looking for a place with amazing food, a fantastic drink selection, and outstanding service, look no further than the Bournbrook Inn. The culinary delights and Wayne's exceptional hospitality will leave you wanting to come back for more. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.

When we initially arrived, the check in was quick and easy. We found our room nice in great condition, quite spacy and with everything you could want (other than there being no spoons with the tea and coffee). The room has always been clean with plenty of clean towels provided when needed and has loads of power sockets for everything you could need! Lots of storage space in the bedroom but not many places to put any toiletries. The first morning after we'd planned our day around getting the included breakfast (which we had paid extra for), we got downstairs and were told they were not serving breakfast due to staffing issues. I completely understand that some days things don't go to plan but it would have been nice to have been told before so we could plan in some extra time to pick up breakfast elsewhere. When we did get breakfast, the food was great and plenty of it! Definite complements to the chef, he was really friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic. But the rest of the staff were nowhere to be seen most of the time and when they were there, they were very standoffish about anything you asked for. Our room was absolutely freezing. Fully to be expected in winter but the fact we could feel the draft anywhere near to the window and the heater in our room wouldn't turn on definitely made it worse (especially on the 2 days where the shower gave out no hot water as well)! The parking here is also an absolute nightmare if you get back in the evening. The spaces are tiny (I only have a Citroen C1 and I was struggling) and after around 5pm most of the spaces are full with people taking up multiple spaces too. Completely empty in the morning though, just a bit of extra stress if you're coming back after a day out! The location is great though, easy enough to find (if you make sure to locate the car park entrance in advance) with a Morrisons right next door, a swimming baths not too far, and very easy access to busses all around Birmingham for just £4 all day. Overall we did have a great holiday but we didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel so may have missed some of the intricacies!

Can only review the restaurant as I dropped in for a "quick bite", but was very impressed with the speed & attentiveness of the waitress. Admittedly the restaurant wasn't very busy, there were only 3 other tables in use, but even so, the waitress (in my opinion) got the right balance between leaving me alone to have a look at the menu, then took my drinks order, then taking the food order when she brought the drink & then when I'd got my food & she'd checked if I wanted any sauces (something a lot of places leave until they check if all is OK with the food) she left me alone to eat for a few minutes before checking if everything was OK or whether I wanted anything else. Very pleased indeed. I had the "Miso Burger" with a Pepsi Max (amazing the number of restaurants that don't do Coke nowadays). Lovely flavour well cooked, slightly crispy bacon without it shattering when you bite, beautiful smooth almost cheesy sauce with a decent strength cheese, not over powering but strong enough to ensure you know it's there. Very nice indeed. The only criticism I have (& the reason fir the dropped score) was the barman was a little "raw", not sure if he was talking with a friend, but to call across the bar "So what sorta coffee ya want ?" (The person he was asking was in the alcove of the left most window from pic & he was still behind the bar, which you might just see through the 'shrubbery' on the right of my pic). The way he called across was 'less than ideal', in my opinion. Overall an enjoyable experience & not what you'd call expensive, added to the fact that they were in no rush to get rid of me (whether that would change during busier periods ). My food with the LARGE Pepsi Max came to £13.60

Stayed 1 night 12th November 2022 Negatives  No curtains, so woke up when light  All windows sealed shut so no fresh air at all – room hot and stuffy even in November.  No air con either, so room totally without ventilation – not sure how you think this is acceptable  No mirror in bathroom  No shelf in shower area for bottles nor hook for towel. In fact it was very sparse shower room. I left items on a towel on the floor which I could easily reach for but if you are disabled this would be tricky. I think you should consult a wheelchair person or disabled person on the design of this bathroom.  No hair dryer  Hotel phone rang at 2am and can be heard from the room  Excessive noise post 1230am - a lot of shouting could be heard even though we are not near any other room  Wet room shower leads to wet feet if you try to enter after using shower. Cubicle more suitable if not disabled. Good  Whilst basic, room was clean and bed comfortable. Good selection of tea/coffee in the room.  There was enough storage space although if you are disabled hanging clothes up would be tricky.  Breakfast is good value for money and well cooked and had a nicely presented breakfast area.  Staff friendly and helpful - both the waitress and the cook. The biggest annoyance was that we were given a disabled room (Number 54) despite not asking for or needing one - I do not understand why we had a disabled room. We normally stay elsewhere on our trips to Birmingham but thought that we would have a change. We won't be returning to this hotel I am afraid as neither of us got a good night's sleep.

First of all if you want a restful night's sleep make sure you don't stay in any of the rooms in the 40s as they're directly above the pub below and the music is blasting day and night from 7am - 11.30pm even though the pubs says it's closes before that. Room 42 has the worst mattress, literally non existent, like something from a horror movie, dread to think who and how they killed it so violently. The woman on arrival was at very best rude and when I asked where was best place to park car so it's under the security camera u would've thought I asked if I could spit in her face with her response. The car park was chocca at night so finding a space wasn't fun and the trees were dropping sap all over our car constantly. All the fire doors were worn so slammed everytime someone used them. The place is begging for a refresh. For £10- £20 more per night u could stay in a premier Inn with its hypnos mattresses. The only redeeming features were the showers were half decent and the cleaning/ room attendants were actually really friendly and helpful and the location was ideal for us visiting family in Kings Heath and when we asked to move rooms due to the noise from pub downstairs they were more than happy to do it the next morning after 11 to one of the rooms in the 20s which was better but mattress was still worn out. Didnt go for breakfast as the reviews were terrible.

Arrived at 8:50pm to be told kitchen closes at 8:45pm. No attempt to provide anything cold. Who does this nowadays? Closes the kitchen half way through the evening and on Friday?? Why would you not want to make more money? Doesn't make any sense to me. My opinion only! The manager was helpful in offering places that would deliver food and allowed us to eat in the restaurant. Food arrived at 9:55pm. Very loud music in the bar. Not somewhere to go to have a quiet drink and a catch up. If you're out on the town, this place is a lively vibrant bar. A fairly good selection of drinks. Plenty of space to sit. The room was ok, a little dirty, black bits in the bed and hairs, no chair or table, toilet seat was loose. Cold tap was wobbly. The corridor could do with a freshen up with paint and filler. Ideal for a one night stop over but not a few nights. (In my opinion) Breakfast was great though! That's what pushed the three stars to four stars! Hot, fresh and tasty and a good choice. The water in the urn tasted metallic so ruined the coffee. Overall, worth a visit if you're early to eat there and sleep then move on. The manager and staff were helpful and pleasant!

Update to review below: My review remains at four stars as this place is my local and I want it to succeed, and the food is decent with a good drinks offering. However they seem to be suffering from understaffing. We'd reserved but there wasn't anyone to show us to our table, then no one came for our order. We finally flagged down a server who'd clearly been on her way somewhere else and felt a bit bad for interrupting. Service was lovely after that, but in some aspects the food had become laughable since our last visit. The burger comes with slaw but it was about a tablespoon of it. Likewise the mushy peas with the fish and chips were a smear that barely amounted to a single bite. We did enjoy giggling about it anyway. Earlier review below. --------- I've not stayed here but don't see a different place to review the food. We've been twice for Sunday roast and the first time was excellent. The second time was Father's Day and I think they got a bit overwhelmed but it was still good. We were there for three hours though due to slow service. They have a kids menu, plenty of space inside and also some beer garden seating.

Booked two twin rooms via Booking. First one looked okay. Second one was clearly in use and had someone else's open suitcase in. They apologised and gave us a different room. That one was not cleaned or had the toiletries replenished properly either (no shampoo/shower gel, found floss in the bin bag, some towels unfolded). We reported that as well and they told us that this room was checked in earlier but they complained about the noise and didn't touch anything. After some further complaining someone went upstairs to check it. Five minutes later they come back with said bin bag in hand and say it's ready for us. Obviously not cleaned in that amount of time so we decided to cut our losses and squeeze three of us in the one clean room since we were quite tired already. Very loud music from the bar/club downstairs till 12am with minimal sound proofing or heat insulation on the window.

The fact that we were given a key to a room that was in use made us really concerned about the overall safety..

The hotel room firstly had 3 single beds when we asked for a double and a single. The room was dirty with damp in the room and hand prints on the wall. The toilet door didn't shut and the toilet seat was broken. We stayed right next to the Indian restaurant next door and was met by the sound of chefs spitting in the early hours of the morning. Being next to the restaurant we had the pleasure of being next to an extraction fan so the room reached almost sauna like temperatures, when we asked the receptionist if a fan was available she told us we should 'open the window or try buying one', we had a toddler with us on the top floor so opening a window was not possible. The pillows were lumpy and the beds springs were sticking through the mattress. When we finally left in the morning after a horrible night's sleep, the receptionist was still on her phone and wouldn't even say goodbye when we said goodbye. I would steer clear of this place, location is good but the hotel is definitely far from good!

A very nice establishment, nice beers and very well mannered and polite bar staff, however, the experience was spoilt by the loud bass techno music that made conversation impossible. The demograph of the people using the bar was a mixture of diners with their families and friends, and groups of people conversing. I asked the bar staff why the music was so loud, and I was informed that the bar manager had told them to turn it up. He stated that he would turn it down a little, which he did and conversation was permissible. 20 minutes later, the volume went up again, conversation again became difficult. Again the bar staff had been instructed to turn it up by the bar manager. Given the reluctance to bring the sound levels down to level where conversation could take place, the 6 of us in the group left. This is the 1st hotel bar that I have been in, and I have been in many, where the back ground music drowned out conversation. I would suggest that consideration be given to investigating the music sound levels in the bar.

Our 1st visit. We opted for Sunday dinner. Upon arriving, we were impressed with standard of building, bar and resturant. We were shown to table and our order taken. Our drinks arrived, however after requesting an update regarding food, it eventually arrived an hour later. It looked a good standard and we were all looking forward to eating. We all asked for condiments, the lady serving us mentioned unfortunately there isn't any and further mentioned we haven't had any for a week. We were surprised, there is a Morrison's supermarket, just across the road!! Whilst eating lunch I fancied another drink, however due to minimal staff I had to go bar to get another drink. I have read previous reviews about sour face staff, we did experience one, however there was a young lady who was very good at her job, we left her a tip!! We all agreed there was a good vibe and food, drink was good quality. It's just a shame a few little issues let the place down.

Booked a table for Sunday lunch, sadly we won't be back in a hurry. No greeting on arrival, left to stand like lemons in the middle of the pub for a minute or two. Eventually seated, after waiting for a while we enquired if someone could take our order, only to be told that you order at the bar. Bit strange for a Sunday lunch service, but wouldn't have minded if someone had told us as we were seated. As we were leaving, no interaction of any kind from the staff, despite one staff member seeing us leave. Getting the little details right goes a long way! 2 stars awarded for a friendly greeting from the floor manager as the food was brought out, and the reasonable price of the roast dinner. Seemed very short staffed and 2 of the 3 staff on shift looked like they were short on experience and needed some training/guidance. With so much competition around, you cannot afford to be this lacklustre!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I popped into The Bournbrook Inn for a pint, and what a delightful surprise it turned out to be! This charming local pub has an impressive selection of ales that truly showcase the region's best flavors. But that's not all - I ended up staying for the food, and it was nothing short of excellent. The menu offered a delicious range of options, and everything I tried was a taste sensation. The staff were not only friendly but also incredibly helpful. They made me feel right at home. A big shout-out to the General Manager, Wayne, who goes above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcome. I had a fantastic experience at The Bournbrook Inn and can't wait to return. If you're looking for a warm, welcoming pub with great ales, food, and an outstanding team, this is the place to be. #BournbrookInn #GreatFood #ExcellentService

The room was absoluetly boiling, I understand not everywhere can have AC, but not even having a fan or a fridge in there meant I was very uncomfortable the entire stay. there was never anybody around to speak to, I don't know what the staff members were doing, but I couldn't find anyone when I needed someone. The worst part of all was the breakfast, I paid £7 for a breakfast buffet but when i got there, the chef hadn't started cooking anything, my only options were cereal - but there were no spoons??? Very VERY disappointed. I had dinner there also which was very mediocre. On a more positive note the car park was spacious and shaded and I appreciated being allowed to keep my car there for the day after I checked out.

Very reasonably priced, nice staff. The heater takes a very long while to get going, and we would have liked another bin, a larger one, or to have it emptied every day. The only real problem though was a patch of mildew that seemed to be forming by one of the windows, most likely due to the handles to open/close them being utterly inaccessible unless you climb on one of the bedside tables, so there should really be a chair in the room, preferably with a small desk as there is space for it. Would recommend if you're looking for somewhere reasonably priced with very easy and quick access to Edgbaston Stadium, with a slightly longer trip on the bus to Birmingham central.

It's in Stirchley, however that's all it has going for it. I rarely post negative reviews as usually things aren't really that bad BUT this burger (raw) was what they sent out after I returned a burnt buttermilk chicken burger and cold chips. They then initially said that they didn't do refunds without head office permission, and to be fair I didn't have to say anything before they realised that they were being unreasonable and did process a refund in cash there and then. However it was embarrassing, my child was mortified but at least I didn't get food poisoning and pay for the privilege. There are plenty of fine places to eat in Stirchley - go try them!

I had a fantastic experience at the Bournebrook Inn and Pub in Stirchley! First and foremost, the value of the rooms was exceptional. I couldn't believe the quality of accommodation for the price. Plus, the prime location made it so convenient for my work and local destinations like Cadbury world. The highlight of my visit, however, was the delicious food served at the pub. The menu had a wide variety of options, and everything I tried was both flavorful and satisfying. And let's not forget the excellent selection of craft ales and beers. I highly recommend the Bournebrook Inn and Pub to anyone looking for a comfortable stay, great food, and an outstanding selection of craft ales and beers. It's a gem in Stirchley!

I came in with my son who was on an hour dinner break...had it not been that my son paid for two coffees already we would have walked out!!...we waited 20 minutes for our drinks as there was only one member of staff on duty..I put my point across with a lady whom I thought was the boss and said that the young man needed help and was told that they were short staffed which i am fed up to the back teeth of hearing everywhere I go!!!....I did apologise to the woman as I didn't know she was the receptionist but at the same time it is still the same company..very poor service on the day as far as I am concerned!!! and nothing to do with the young man who served us who was friendly enough ...but he was juggling everything on his own with NO help from anyone...

We were put into a room with no curtains and next to a staff door. This meant with banging doors and a very bright bedroom, we did not sleep. For our second night, we were moved to a new room which was quiet and with curtains. This was thanks to the very polite manager who helped us. Rooms could have got 4 stars based on second night alone. As for the breakfast, it was English breakfast, sausages were standard cheap catering ones, the egg option was fried only and these had been left cooked for long enough to be rubbery. The coffee was instant, quite a rare find in a hotel that was not cheap. I would not come back here for the breakfast for sure. Bedroom window photo is included for accuracy.

Stayed here for two nights. Cups were not replaced, neither was coffee, tea or milk. Room had been given a basic builders clean by house keeping. No big bags in the bin, also weren’t cleaned and left with tea stains in. When I got into the room on the first night window was left wide open, curtains were soaked through with rain, and the heaters socket had been pulled out the wall exposing bare wiring. So that didn’t work. Absolutely freezing room, with damp on the ceiling and walls. And the other lad I was working with, his phone charger disappeared out his room during the day. And the room was cleaned bare minimum.

We stayed here for two nights and whilst some of the staff were very friendly upon check in, others were very disinterested (in their mobile phones). The room was spacious, however we did not sleep well at all as the mattress was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on. There were springs poking out everywhere. It also seems that they begin to play music from around 9am in the morning (very loudly at that) which does not finish until closing time, so we were rudely awoken each morning. The location is fantastic and the pub itself is lovely.

The pub was nicely decorated. Most of the staff came across as friendly and accommodating. It would have been helpful if kitchen staff supplied an oven glove to lift the lids off the serving dishes rather than be told to use a paper serviette, this was bit of a health and safety risk of burns. We stayed in a family room which was too small for a family of 3 and the water didn’t drain away from the shower which meant the tray filled up with dirty water whilst showering, this was reported twice but nothing done to rectify it. Again health a health and safety issue.

Food was not good at all. We had to send a chicken burger back as it was horribly rubbery and the breading had fallen off of the entire fillet. The second one was the exact same, so only one bite was eaten and the rest left. Informed two waiters and the manager and was still charged for the inedible food (note this fact is not driving the low rating, I am basing purely off of the food quality). The vegetarian chana burger was dry and tasteless so it was also not eaten for the most part. Sticky toffee pudding for dessert was good though. Cannot recommend the food at all though unfortunately, which is a shame.

Found it hard to work out how to get to the car park at first and it wasn't as near to the Hare and Hounds as it looked (also uphill all the way!) but probably still the best option locally. The room was comfortable and clean, but a couple of odd things, like the placement of the toilet roll holder which was impossible to reach when sitting down! We missed breakfast so can't comment on that but the staff were great, especially when I lost my keys.

Hotel part is pretty good. Our mattress had seen better days. It was lopsided, and the springs had sprung. Bar girl was awful. We went to eat there. Because of her, we didn't. Not sure if she was just disinterested, couldn't be bothered or really was a bit thick. We didn't eat there nor have a drink . I was looking forward to a cocktail and Jerk Chicken.

We slept one night. The reception was really good, we didn't have any problems and it was a really quick check in. The room has two single beds made with love. Into detail, no complaints. Clean bedding and all very well tagged in. Toilet brand refurbished, very clean with enough toiletries for one day. Very nice shower and water temperature, lovely. Firstly, the lady that checked us in just looked disinterested when interacting with us which wasn’t very welcoming. As for for the room, the tv didn’t work so it wasn’t really a good start, broken mirror, holes in the photos in the wall wasn’t a pleasant look and the sheets had a few small stains. Now with bathroom the shower was dirty and toilet seat was broken so each time you sit you’re drifting to Morrisons over the road. There’s also one bedside table for two beds?

We arrived in Birmingham today, checked into the hotel here and also had dinner here. I have to say the burger was for the English taste quite okay. unfortunately the bread was a bit musty. please make more control of the shelf life of the rolls. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really good, you have to keep in mind that it's British. The room was very good and clean for one night, unfortunately the mattress is a bit due to the should be replaced. breakfast is typically british and sets you up for the day

My wife and I stayed for one night after dropping daughter off at university halls of residence. What a gem of a place. Food was great( blue cheese burger) IPA on tap was also great. Room was a reasonable rate and very sufficient and clean. There was a DJ in the bar area whilst this not be everybody’s taste I was quietly impressed with music(indie/alternative). Breakfast was very good with background music of Fugazi. Never thought I’d write that sentence . Bravo Bournbrook. I will be back next time I’m in town to see daughter

Stayed here for two nights. Staff very very helpful, stored our ice blocks in their freezer. Twin room, nice bed linen and towels, tea/coffee facilities. Bed comfy. Excellent shower - bathroom looked brand new. Good range of beers and ciders. Nice buffet breakfast (better than Premier Inn). Could do with a fan in the room. Very well located for getting around Birmingham, 45,47 bus stop very close. Highly recommend, we’re staying again next month

Popped in for a pint on my way home, great place, some fantastic craft ales and a great selection of draught. Really cosy atmosphere with a chilled vine, great to relax after a long day, food is fantastic value for money and beautifully made for what you pay, its a fresh kitchen and it shows in the quality of the food, will definitely be going back and making it one of my regular stops.

Nicely spruced up old place, the room was nicely decorated and kitted out. Pub grub was great, with good choices. Service was excellent and friendly, and the bar had a good vibe. I bet its very busy at key times, but wasn't when we were there midweek. I'm not familiar with Birmingham at all but this location fitted our needs spot on and it was fairly easy to find from the M42 and the city centre.

Great transformation from the former pub. Modern decor and funky furniture. I visit more during day when customer service could be improved (often feel a bit of an inconvenience to them) also I like my hot drinks but at least 50% of time they tell me the machine isn't working... To be honest that issue, and staff not being as friendly as other reviews make out, is becoming more frequent so at the moment only giving it 3 stars.

Ate lunch here today. Atmosphere was a little quiet being a Tuesday lunch, decor very nice and modern. Service from waiting staff was great, gave advice on menu etc. bar staff was a little surly, but food and drink were very good, and reasonably priced (£20 for four tapas plates that - along with a £3 portion of fries - fed two of us). Would recommend.

Really good food and beer from Attic.

  • Ash Corbett-Collins

Used to be a great place for good quality pub food but unfortunately a recent visit left a lot to be desired. The menu is greatly reduced from previous and is now just the usual suspects. Ordered the fish and chips - the portion size was poor, the fish seemed like it was a supermarket frozen one, and the overall presentation was lacking. Food is clearly no longer a focus here and wouldn't be surprised to see it reduced to just the Sunday lunches in the near future.

  • Amandine

Location was great for me because of what I wanted to do and where I wanted to go, not sure it'd be great for everyone. But I really loved the place. It's cute and even though it's a little loud because you can hear what's going on in other rooms, it was nice to stay there. Check in girl could learn to be more pleasant though.

We stayed for four nights - the room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable. Just what we needed, a cozy place to rest our heads at night! Great location, just a quick walk to Bournville Station, and the bus that stops outside Morrison's (across the road) takes you into Birmingham. We were also in an ideal location to visit family in Stirchley and Selly Park :)

Very nicely decorated. Could do with some shelving to pop folded clothes onto and a rail in the Bathroom to hang towels. Food good with local Beers. Struggled a lot as not enough staff to cope with customers. Overall an excellent place to stay with a short journey into Birmingham Centre on the train with the Bournville Station a short walk away.

We went for a Birthday celebration on a Saturday afternoon - it was amazing! The food was delicious, there was a great choice of drinks available, the prices were incredible for the quality of the food and the staff were really attentive. We loved it! In fact, we loved it so much that we went back the next day for Sunday lunch! The Roast Beef was the best I have ever had! Now trying to come with a reason/excuse of why I need to go again!

  • Jane Lewis

This hotel would be an okay place to stay but not on a Saturday night! There was a party going on until 1am and we were told this happens most weekends!!! The staff didn't care about our complaint. There was plenty of parking and the room was basic but okay it was noise that let it down. Also, go to morrisons opposite for breakfast.

We stayed here for a family wedding. The location was wonderful and we weren't there for long, so it was fine. The staff seemed overwhelmed and frazzled. Our room key was missing when we arrived and then we had a very difficult time getting replacement towels. On the plus side, the price was great, and parking was very easy to find, and was plentiful.

I had a good experience here. Room 12 was nice and quiet and very comfortable. Staff found me a hairdryer and breakfast was perfectly acceptable. There was non dsity milk available. The burger meal was lovely but a cup of tea at £2.50 was the only negative part.

The place is nice, fairly quiet on a school night, the restaurant was quiet too which worked well for us. The food was nice and affordable. I would like to suggest a few improvment: took a while for someone to take our order and one item was forgotten but not removed from the bill. Otherwise it was nice. Thanks

We absolutely love it here. We regularly visit for Sunday roasts which are brilliant value for money and very large portions. The quality is on par with The Plough in Harborne but the price is far cheaper! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and lots of local craft beers. Manager Tom is very accommodating and has done great job giving this place a new lease of life!

Nice boozer, with a decent selection of beers and good food. However its only getting for from me because the music choice has gone downhill though since the old gaffer left, it's gone, before it was everything from James Brown through to My Bloody Valentine only to be Now That's What I Call Pop Pap Dance Hits, which is slightly irritating to say the least.

First visit to the bournbrook inn. Really impressed with the boozer. Good styling and decoration. Wide variety of drink. With a good selection of local beers/ales which you can try before you buy. Never ate on our visit, but by all accounts the food is top nosh too. Only irritating piece is Guinness not in a Guinness glass - pet hate of mine.

  • Decline To State

This used to be an awful pub but it’s made a complete U turn. Had some of the ale from the attic brewery on draft and a nice table of meals. Fits right into the independent food and drink of Stirchley. They got a bit mixed up with the desserts towards the end when they got a bit busy but offered a choice of refund or wait for the desserts they forgot to bring out.

  • Leiha M.

We were able to reserve space for a small wake for a family funeral. The staff was incredibly accommodating. I had a question that I had gone in to ask about, he needed to talk to the manager to answer my question and he had called me back before I even made it home. The venue was perfect for a midday gathering. They helped make a tough situation so much easier.

This hotel needs more stars. The member of staff that dealt with us was Cameron. He was very helpful and had great manners. Our room was nice and warm upon arrival and I was provided with dairy alternative milk (which you don't find in many places). The room was clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.

  • Ken Arkell

Lovely hotel on the outskirts of Birmingham in Stirchley. Welcoming staff in all areas. Clean and simple rooms with all you need. Lively bar on the ground floor with a separate restaurant area. Good selection of all kinds of drinks and a nice menu. Food was lovely. Will definitely visit again and have no hesitation in recommending it.

Only stopped for food. Lovely Sunday Roast, nice decor, I was a bit disappointed with the waiting staff, it wasn't that busy but service was slow! Prices are reasonable but , fiver for 6 pardon peppers is a little steep event by modern standards!

It has clearly been refurbished recently, and it's clean and bright. However the bed in room 18 badly needs a new mattress. Staff were helpful and polite, but very often nowhere to be seen. We didn't eat in the pub restaurant, but are lots of other eateries within walking distance.

  • Christopher Greening

A slight downside was the small menu choices whilst a new menu was being drawn up but the shocking thing was the over priced drinks! To be charged £15 for one of the cheaper lagers and a large gin and tonic is well over the top, it isn’t
