I've been to this cinema twice specifically to the main screen which is a Dolby Cinema installation. The sound and picture are superb and at the moment this is one of very few Dolby Cinema installations in London. The only down side is that the screen is actually not that big so if you enjoy and immersive experience (ie IMAX) I'd suggest sitting around row 4-6 from the front. Sitting in the middle results in quite a small viewing angle. I sat close to the middle for Avatar in 3d and this felt a bit too far for me. For Creed III I set 4 rows from the front and this was perfect. The seats are very comfortable and I love the design and interior. My only complaint would be that there isn't anywhere to sit and wait before the film. This is a big missed opportunity as it would be nice to be able to relax and have a drink before the film. They also only offer one size of popcorn which is small by cinema standards. I love my popcorn and it would be great if they offered a large size too! Great place to see a film and if you haven't experienced Dolby Cinema I'd highly recommend it!
An absolutely thrilling experience viewing a re-run of Top Gun Maverick in Dolby Cinema. I believe it’s the first independent Dolby Cinema site in the world! Amazing. The venue has the privilege of being located inside the wonderfully restored Battersea Power Station. I have visited their boutique cinema in the Arches at the complex and I have always been a fan of their cinemas but the newly opened Dolby Cinema is pure magic. The sound is absolutely out of this world and the picture is stunning. I can compare this to the Dolby Cinema Odeon in Leicester Square and this venue beats it hands down. Far better seats ensuring a brilliant view even for shorter customers. Amazingly dark so you can really experience the contrast visually and totally immersive and clean sound that makes you feel the audio but doesn't deafen you. Five out of five stars seems stingy to be honest. I just wish I could give it more. I left this beautiful venue last night with a grin on my face! We will be seeing Avatar in 3D tomorrow. Bring it on!
It's great to see a Dolby Cinema in the south of London, an independent one as well. The entire presentation of the cinema is great and ticket prices are competive (on weekdays excluding Friday before 5pm), but of course the best area is screen one, the Dolby Cinema. The surround sound and laser projection are top of their class and the sound is well tuned, being much less deafening then the Odeon Dolby Cinema in the West End while still retaining the surround positioning Dolby Atmos is known for. At first I was concerned of the red accent colour of the room but it turned out to not be as noticeable once all lights were off. While you do miss out on fully reclining chairs compared to Odeon's Dolby Cinemas, this is still a very good cinema and by far the best in its area. Overall very happy to see a new high quality Dolby Cinema open up in London and will definitely visit again.
On my first visit here last week this immediately became my favourite cinema in London. The quality of the decor and design are second to none, striking a perfect balance between high end luxury while retaining an unpretentious independent feel. Also the best Dolby cinema experience I've ever had - the colours, contrast (with true blacks) & immersive sound are on a level unmatched by any cinema I've visited before; I was actually taken aback during the pre-movie Dolby presentation. As other reviews have said, the drinks & snacks selection is smaller than other venues at the moment but is all high quality products, and I'm sure this is something that may be expanded on as the cinema develops. The staff were perfectly friendly and helpful and I'll be making this my go-to cinema whenever I can from now on.
Despite the sound and screen quality being great, unfortunately we were left a little disappointed after visiting the cinema in the power station. The website promises “sumptuous reclining seats” however the seats barely recline and don’t stay in the reclined position. They are also not what I would describe as “sumptuous”. There is a nice selection of drinks and wine, but they are not cold and they do not provide wine glasses. The popcorn is not fresh and contained in large bags which means you get a lot of crumbled popcorn in your box. If you want to sit and have a drink before you enter the cinema, there are only about 5 chairs available, so it’s not very comfortable. Most of these things could be improved quite easily and I think would make the experience much more pleasant.
Unrivalled in-screen experience is undermined by a terrible selection of food and drink. Screens benefit from an exceptional Dolby Cinema audio and visual experience, and the best cinema seats we've found in London. Unfortunately the limited range of food and drink met on arrival (including prices such as £3.50 per can of Coca-Cola) and disengaged staff spoil a visit that could deliver so much more. Our movie was +3 hours, with no hot food and limited snacks available. Everyman cinemas offer so much more in this regard. We hope The Cinema at BPS can make the adjustments needed to give an iconic venue the iconic cinema it deserves.
Love this cinema! New and fresh. Large armchairs that recline. Little tables in between the seats for your drinks/popcorn. Booster seats for children. Plenty of space to stretch out and for people to pass you without having to stand up or turn your legs at an awkward angle. Really nice looking bar at the entrance but was at a children’s film midday so didn’t have the opportunity to try it. Clean toilets, friendly staff and you get 4 hours of free parking in the power station. You just need to get your ticket validated at the ticket desk.
This cinema is a great addition to the offerings in London, it's grand, comfortable, designed by somebody that actually seems to like to go to the movies. I imagine the idea is to screen the big blockbusters but I hope they make some space for a variety of films so one is enticed to come often, with a tube station 5 minutes walking distance it should be serious competition for the West End cinemas, now it may be faster to get here than to get to some of those cinemas in the fringes of the West End area.
It's just a short walk for us, so we decided to give it a try. It's very nice, boutique style cinema. Screen wasn't huge but seats, customer service, sound system was excellent. The popcorn wasn't as fresh as it could have been but it comes in one size only. Totally loved it. Definitely will be going back. The price is also reasonable for the experience you get compared to big cinema chains, which offer less comfort and not an adequate sound system compared.
I went to The Cinema in The Power Station to watch Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. It was a great experience of Dolby Cinema, good quality video and audio, comfortable seat, good ambience with good ventilation and lighting. Hint: You can enjoy happy hour drinks at the lounge ~ Members Club. A private members’ bar and restaurant open to public until 7th September 2023.
ok, but... the theatre is less stylish and the seats less comfortable than most people will be accustomed to from alternatives (everyman, curzon) at this price point. i do not understand what is going on with the bar area in the reception which was completely closed while customers who arrived early had to huddle in the lobby or just kill time outside.
It was nice, we watched Air and picked seats towards the back as we thought the screen would be really big. It wasn't really, but we didn't mind too much. The popcorn was quite expensive and it wasn't as good as Vue - it didn't really taste fresh. Also it would be good to have recliner seating, but other than that it was ok …
I am overjoyed with the wonderful and professional approach and treatment of customers in this establishment. This luxurious cinema is a great opportunity to take a moment and watch a film - I thank you all greatly, I will be coming back, as well as recommending you to all of my friends!
I've visited all other sister cinemas, but this one really raises the bar to unimaginable heights in terms of customer service, comfort, ambience, technology, the list can go on! In regards to customer service, the Duty Manager hosted me most honourably. Definitely worth the visit!
I made an enquiry about a film and whether I would be able to still get inside should I be 5-10 minutes late to arrive. Eventually I did not watch that film however the member of staff advised me was so kind and he communicated so effectively that I find commendable in any case.
This was an awesome experience. I have visited many cinema’s around the world, some of them also Dolby Cinema certified like this theater. I must say that this theater is among the best in the world. The sound is clear and full, the screen
Screen 1 here is good. Pretty cosy seats, great screen with latest sound and vision. The snacks and drinks section is a bit underwhelming for this location, I expected and wanted more variety and choice. There is nothing warm to eat at all.
I watched Creed III here the other night. While the graphics and sound were incredible, the experience was way too overpriced. £17.50 on a Sunday night (no student discount available on this day). If the seats had been really comfortable,
Nice comfortable cinema, but expensive tickets followed by such a limited and expensive food choice. Was hoping to have actual hot food with the film, but only managed to get a can of Coke Zero and tiny chocolate bar for £6.50 …
Went to this beautiful cinema to watch Oppenheimer. Wonderful experience, customer service was sublime, very accommodating, notably from this young man named luca. Overall an extremely worthwhile experience!
Watched the newly remastered Titanic 3D in the Dolby Cinema screen, it was hands down the most intense and emotional cinematic experience in my life, even surpassing Avatar:TWOW and Top Gun: Maverick!
A really lovely experience at the cinema. The staff went out of their way to find some hot milk for my little one and the cinema itself was incredibly comfortable. Reclining seats! Totally recommend.
I payed for my tickets but as I didn’t have a PASSPORT on me they wouldn’t let me in. Please let me know if I also need birth certificate, my gun license and a DNA test next time that I won’t come.
Lovely cinema, very clean (perhaps because it's brand new :) very welcoming staff and good selection of alcoholic beverages, you can take a glass pint into the theatre! Will definitely be back.
Nice cinema but lacks some basic things like decent freshly made popcorn (welcome to UK cinema I guess) and other conveniences like a place to leave your snacks outside the toilets.
The coolest cinema I've ever been to (and I've been to many). The sleek retro vibe helps the cinema stand out but the best part was the amazingly friendly staff and comfy screen.
Really boujie cinema! Incredibly friendly staff, the service was incredible. Probably one of the best service experiences i’ve received! Thank you to the staff last night.
Good experience. Don’t expect any nachos or hotdogs. They only have the essentials for what is expected as the minimum from a cinema, popcorn drinks and sweets ☺️
What a great cinema the seats are so comfy and the range of snacks is great- the screen and sound system are incredibly impressive. Would definitely recommend!
All Power to this wonderful Independent Cinema ️ Super comfy, great sound and picture, delicious coffee & friendly service. Will defo return ❤️ …
Unbelievable sound and picture quality. I can’t emphasise how awesome the sound is here.. the best cinema experience I’ve had.
Dolby HDR projection looks amazing in super comfy seats. If you love films, and outstanding visual quality.. this is a must
One of the best cinemas in London comfy seats, cocktail table and cute shopping baskets to carry popcorn etc to your seat.
Great cinema, cozy seats and kind staff. Unfortunately our visit was cut short by reasons uncontrollable by the cinema
The screens are so small. My TV is bigger. The price is not justified. Don’t recommend. Go to Electric Cinema or VUE!!
Sound in the dolby screen is on a different level only odeon in LS compares Nice seats and good snacks
Great place and location ! Staff need customer service training ! There is no need for attitude !
Loved sitting in the members bar before the film. Amazing beer and popcorn combo
Great venue. Beautiful art deco cinema and comfy reclining seats.
Best cinema it's like history and future comes together
