ZERO STARS: AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE - DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY We spent £11,000 on a dining table and chairs. They very happily took 100% of the money in November 2022. Expected delivery was in February 2023. It's a long one, but bear with as it is definitely a good warning for anyone considering a major purchase with them... The February delivery date came and no one in the Conran shop contacted us. I had to chase them to eventually be told that there were delays and we would now receive in March. The new delivery date came, and again, no one in the Conran shop contacted us. Again I chase them and am now told that the table will be delivered, but no chairs as they are delayed. We don't want the table without the chairs, obviously, so when we complain about this they say - no problem, we've sorted it and your chairs will arrive with the table. Except on delivery day they just send us the table. When we phoned them they said - oops, sorry! That person shouldn't have promised you the chairs. They're not ready and will be delayed until the 1st April. So 1st April comes, yet again, no one contacts me. When I ask them where the chairs are, unbelievably, I am told - oops, sorry! it was a typo, they are actually due on the 21st April. So, 21st April comes, again, no one contacts me. And to our continuing dismay am told - oops, sorry! supplier issues, they are now looking at May delivery. But they really mean maybe they will come in May, who knows right?! Could be a typo, could be someone with no idea what they are doing, could be someone having a laugh. But no worries, they are sorry for the inconvenience. So to sum up - we have a dining table, but no chairs and are currently out of pocket almost £6000. There is no end in sight to this absolutely farcical and horrible experience we have had with Conran. They are not transparent about delays and issues, and do not provide any meaningful customer service. We are 100% dissatisfied with our experience.

Visited with a friend. on a Sunday, the shop was quiet but not empty. Upon our arrival we could see no member of staff but one security guard. We leisurely made our way through the store and ended up at the candle and scents sections - throughout this whole time we were being stalked and watched by the security guard. I had picked up a candle I intended to purchase and was walking through the rest of the scented section. After noticing that the security guard was constantly stalking us (we were not the only ones in the store) I decided to put back the candle and leave as both myself and my friend began to feel incredibly uncomfortable. As we made our way to the exit we were cornered by the security guard demanding where the box was that I was carrying, I politely told him I had put it back as id changed my mind. He then demanded I show him exactly where I had put it back. Feeling incredibly embarrassed and shocked at the accusatory manner of the request we were paraded back through the store to show him where the candle was left. After I had showed him the candle no apology followed from him nor from the member of staff who had joined him - she too had an accusatorial look on her face. I am unsure as to why we were targeted, perhaps because we are both gay men or that my friend was asian (he later told me the security guard looked at him the entire time we were there). Whatever the reasoning I would suggest better diversity training for both the shop worker and the security guard in order to avoid making further customers feel belittled and guilty. This is the most uncomfortable I have ever felt, and we did nothing wrong.

Beautiful things, expensive furniture, but also numerous unusual small beautiful gifts at reasonable prices. Staff very helpful and pleasant. If that were it I'd give them 5 stars... The downstairs cafe lets them down though; lousy, expensive food (although good coffee). An underwhelming smoothie - it immediately separated into what looked like gold packet apple juice as opposed to freshly squeezed and a few green bits - and an astonishingly stingy sandwich filling took so long to arrive I didnt have time to eat them and also cost a fortune. I don't mind paying for quality but this was very poor value. Due to the delay in serving I was then in a hurry and didn't complain at the time (I should have!) but emailed later expressing my disappointment. The fact that they didn't bother to respond to my email doesn't reflect well on them.

I visited the Conran shop at Marylebone to buy a set of 6 Vitra chairs which are currently advertised as on sale on their online shop (the online shop says that these particular chairs are on a 20% sale and that Vitra also offers 6 chairs for the price of 5 until the end of January). At the shop we were told that only specific colours of the Vitra chair are on the 20% sale (for stock clearance) and that the 6 for 5 offer cannot be applied if we are buying the chairs with 20% off. None of this is mentioned on their online shop. We were also quoted £90 for delivery within London. I ended up buying the Vitra chairs from Heal's with a 15% discount irrespective of colour, the 6 for 5 offer applied on top of that and free delivery, saving myself £600.

This branch of The Conran Shop makes the most of its local high street location to offer a great range of designer gifts, cards, art and design books and a great cafe on the ground floor. There's also an impressive selection of niche perfume brands that are usually only available in specialist fragrance outlets. Upper floors are devoted to furniture and home accessories. The cafe has shelves of cookery books and tempting ranges of homewares for sale that you can browse while enjoying a coffee or a light meal. A great place to browse for inspiration as well as finding something that's a little less ordinary, if you've the budget for it! Great place at Christmas for a wide range of decorations and fairy lights.

I've just come out of Dr Nina's clinic in Chelsea and I needed to write her a review immediately because...wow. I couldn't be happier! First of all, the clinic is gorgeous, so calming and beautiful (atmosphere +1). Secondly, Dr Nina came to meet me at the reception right after I arrived (punctuality +1) welcomed me in her office and really listened to my concerns (caring +1) clearly explained the treatments that she recommended to achieve my goals (bedside manners +1) proceeded to make me feel completely at ease and performed the most painless injections (magic hands +1) It all ads up to a 5/5 and I'll give her an extra star for her positive energy and smile. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was confused as to how many stars to give, as sight seeing shop it is 5 stars. The designs are really cool, really impressive designs it is good for ideas. However the prices are unjustified... how can 2 chop sticks cost £40? Basic wooden chopsticks, or picture frame that felt not so well built for £35, and i could probably find similar for £3 in some random shops. A coconut bowl £30 which you can get same looking one for £9 in H&M. Not even mentioning the furniture prices that are totally unjustified £5000+ for a single chair that didn't even feel comfortable ... But either way worth visiting as they have a lot of interesting cool designs

Conran has a great selection of furniture and I bought many times from them in the past. But, since COVID, they just don't work. They lost my very expensive order and only realised about it 8 weeks later, after ignoring many of my emails. I gave them another chance, only to repeat the problem (the person in charge went into annual leave was the excuse). They do admit their own mistakes and give you full refund. But you wasted 8 months in the process. I moved my business to Viaduct, which also has a good selection, answers my emails immediately, and seems to have a system that tracks orders efficiently.

  • Hannah Ward

Ordered a light back in mid Feb, on the website at the time of order it was in stock but it still hasn't arrived. Should have been 3 to 4 weeks delivery. Then told it would be mid April. I only get an update when I email and ask. Nothing forthcoming. The last email was so vague with no detail other than the supplier is experiencing production delays. Still no updated eta. Customer Service is shockingly poor for such an establishment. I have asked to be called to discuss this to understand the detail about my order, nobody has called me. Perhaps someone could escalate this now?

  • Alexandra Sheppard

Could there be a sleeker department store in central London? The Conran Shop is on the relatively quiet Marylebone High Street, making for an altogether less stressful shopping experience. The layout is extremely practical with Christmas gifts grouped by recipient (parents, children, glamorous grans etc). This shop also does a good line in gifts for the person that really has it all - think croquet sets, model alpacas made from alpaca wool and other random bits. Of course, this gorgeous design doesn't come cheap, but it's nice to wander around the shop anyway.

  • martin brown

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS BUSINESS ONLINE!!! we have been waiting weeks for a small order from the Conran shop, they take your payment, send an email acknowledging your order, then ZERO communication when you do not receive your item. you cannot get through on the telephone, they do not answer emails or even respond to posts on social media. A warning to prospective customers, read all the other recent reviews and you will see there is a major problem with the Conran shop. It used to be good, but something is clearly not right now Avoid

  • S P

I used to trust in the conranshop and shopped several times in Paris. This one doesn't update you about orders, ignores emails, etc. Try to call the store...it's almost impossible to have someone pick up the line (try customer service, furniture, other etc...). At this time I can't imagine they're incredibly busy. In addition I emailed their customer service about a price match, they never answered me although I resent the email a couple times. Thanks a lot, I'll go to Aram which has excellent customer service !

  • Charlotte Ruffel

If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely HORRENDOUS customer service. I have emailed 4 times and had no response and called countless times, calls which have not been answered regarding an order made in November which has not arrived. I got through once and was told they had missed my order, despite taking my money and it would be sent immediately, complete nonsense and still not received. I have messaged on Instagram out of desperation, no response. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.

  • Andrew Ramsay

We arrived with several other groups at the opening time on the website. We were told that the shop wouldn't open for another half an hour and that this is what we should expect given that all shops open at that time. No apology. No promise to change the advertised time. No appearance from the manager who delegated the task to a shop floor employee. How many weeks has this been going on? Long enough to print a notice for the door at least.

  • Ira Ktena

Unfortunately the online Conrad shop has absolutely non-existent customer support. I ordered a ceiling light back in November, it only arrived 3 weeks ago with missing parts. It has been impossible to get a response via phone, email or chat and arrange delivering them. 2 weeks after I returned the box to at least get a refund absolutely no news and impossible to reach them. After reading other recent reviews this seems scandalous.

  • A R

A place for the child in you. Huge assortment of gifts and quirky objects you don’t really need but are still fun to look at and/or gift. From toys to perfumes/candles to home goods and spectacles, they have it all! Theres also an added bonus of a cafe in the corner. The staff are professional allowing you to browse without pressuring you to buy. When they gift wrap, it is done with passion and dedication. Thank you!

  • Melanie Vaughan

Disgusting or rather, non-existent customer service! I ordered a light from them in October and on December 2nd they delivered me a box of about 30 sets of salt and pepper shakers. I have tried countless time to get in touch with them and no one has reached out to fix the issue. At this point I just want my money back. Do not purchase anything from them online. It is criminal what they are doing to their customers.

  • Oo L

I always love looking around things here. Always find something different in an excellent qualuty. From jewelry and stationery to bags and furniture, even witty carpentry items, too. Café on the ground floor wasn't there anymore, but I think I saw tables with glases by the 1st floor window. I didn't notice from inside, but it may be for dining than just for a cup of tea.

  • Andrea

Very great place for home goods like candles, kitchenware, lights. They also have a good section for kids' toys. And inside the shop, there is a nice coffee shop, where you can have very light meals, soup, stews. For people with allergy, you can choose oat milk, soy milk or almond milk for your coffee. They also have some cool flavors late like beetroot or turmeric.

  • Piero Sierra

The shop itself is lovely, but do not purchase from them online. I ordered an expensive item 3 months ago and I have yet to receive clear status. They do not pick up their phone, the online chat functionality is not available, and they do not reply to email. They are utterly un-responsive online. I will have to go by personally and try to get a refund.

  • Oksana Alekseeva

That was my fav shop in London until I’ve ordered Bon Ton lamps with them. The order was placed in June 2017, now Jan 2018, Nothing! I haven’t received the lamps and they even don’t bother to reply my emails. I’ve called the store many times and they keep telling me that the lamps will be shipped next week and nothing happens! Absolutely disappointed!

  • Ben Tilley

Great place to be inspired by fantastic design. From the books on the ground floor at the right hand side of the entrance, to the interesting kitchenware on the first floor up to the interior and garden furniture at the top. Small cafe serving tea, coffee and snacks at the back of the ground floor as well. Not cheap, but definitely interesting.

  • Peter Ward

Sorry to say, feels like they are going bust. No sign of any life at customer service, my order of £400 now very late and I fear money could be lost. Will try get it back from the credit card company. Despite all this, marketing emails arriving every other day from Conran Shop encouraging more sales. Caveat emptor!

  • Marco Paffi

As a person involved in design that can be a heaven spot on earth (while your wallet can be just hell). The selection of brands is great but in some of them, there is a big lack (Alessi for example). The coffee makers section is a bit disappointing, as I was expecting more variations of brands and types.

  • Pasquale Monteleone

A great shop for anybody who fancies design, unusual gadgets and questionably useful accessories for yourself or your house. An interesting place to explore with a good selection of furniture and home-ware, wrapped up by generally good customer service. A place not to miss during the sales period.

  • Charles Everritt

What ever you do dont order online from this store. I have over the years bought many things from the south ken shop NEVER AGAIN !!! I ordered a bowl before Christmas and basically it never arrived. ZERO communication ZERO apology. I think they are, im afraid, losing there way which is great shame

  • Modernist

Uninspiring, ugly merchandise and layout!! not what it used to be!! Very sad to see this happen to a wonderful iconic name!! The staff are also very rude, especially the woman on the lower ground floor on her laptop and not remotely interested in Customers! Will never return!!

  • Alex Niculae

Brilliant service, both online and in store. Special thanks to Alessandra Z from the lighting department, who has been ever so helpful with my inquiry and has proven great communication skills by following up with me and resolving my inquiry in a timely manner. Thank you!

  • Allister Low

I used to love this place, however I have encountered too many problems in recent times, from being charged the wrong amount, to staff forgetting to remove the security tag and setting off the alarm, to having to wait ages at tills that are always empty and unmanned.

  • Jaimin Patel

A very interesting place for all sorts of funky items. I decided to keep it simple and tried a zolted latte (apparently it's a salt and sugar latte) which I actually quite liked. It's a bit more expensive than most places, but the area and the crowd permit it :-)

  • Riccardo Basile

It has sofas where you can crash on for as much as your lazy body wants... Or tables with chargers to borrow some portable power for your electronic world... And the rest of the shop... super light glassware and stylish items or pricey perfumes... Beautiful

  • Philip Stowell

Classic and stimulating designer goods, furniture, lighting and toys, and lots of clever ideas, other stuff too. It's fun; it's fun to visit intermittently. Then you can see how style changes, and yet retains an identity that persists decade to decade.

  • Harry Sumner

Spent £300 + £6 next day delivery. Got 5/12 items sent, of that 5 4 were the wrong color. Have attempted to contact the team for close to 2 weeks to no avail. It seems they're struggling in trading - do not recommend engaging with them until resolved.

  • C S P

Amazing shop but frustrating customer service . I ordered two small baubles during lock down over 3 weeks ago and they are still not in store to collect . They must be now on the shop floor . No reply from emails or phone calls #frustrated !

  • Nevi Balezdrova

I always come here for scent inspiration. They always have niche and androgynous beauty products, great for gifting too! Staff are super lovely and now you can get a great coffee and have a sit down in a fab interior! Add it to your go-to!

  • N MG

Nice furniture shops in a very spacious space, offer something different from usual shopping experience. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Most of the items are high-end luxury products hence the price, watch out for their sale/offers

  • Apolline Lugger

worse experience ever, made a big order, still not received it, after the delivery time promised is multiplied by 4, and no answer from their customer service mail or phone. Still waiting for new for my order to arrive or be refunded

  • Gloria Gloria

Got almost everything for my home in Conran for many years. Always delivery the updated trend and the best customer service. Looking forward to visiting the new store in Sloane square! Thanks for Louis’s help in Marylebone branch.

  • Maria Fox

Simply terrible customer service. Its been a month since I sent some goods back for a refund and after numerous emails (and a confirmation that it's been processed a week ago) still no sign of a refund... Just shockingly bad!

  • Lex de Wynter

They should just rename it 'How Much???' and get it over with. Great to visit though, as you can actually look at all the things you want before buying them online for half the price. Nice furniture too. Maybe one day...

  • jason gee

I bought some kitchenware some of which turned up broken. Attempts to email or phone have been fruitless, no one is answering. Perhaps theyre going out of business. I would be cautious about buying anything from them

  • David Whippe

Don't order from them online. I'm convinced they've basically stolen my money. It's impossible to contact them to complain. Email, Web, Chat, Phone, they ignore all channels. Their customer service is non-existent.

  • Gill Bentley

Such a pleasure to look at all the things in the shop. The best of modern design in furniture, fabrics, china, glass and accessories. Serve great expresso in the cafe on the ground floor. Restaurant on top floor.

  • Simon Cooney

The Conran Shop has been stocking designer goods and deluxe miscellany since the 1970s. All under one roof there is much that is covetable.. An up there location for furniture, lamps , candles, objects and more.

  • Jack Allinson

Do not buy from this shop. They will take your money, make you wait weeks for your goods and then send you an email saying its out of stock. Terrible customer service and ow I don't have a Christmas present.

  • David Sharratt

Lovely home wares at a price. Great chilled cafe downstairs. Lovely formal roof terrace dining upstairs..... Why three stars. Sort the air con out. It was only June and yet it was hotter inside than out

  • George

Overpriced and beautiful designer furniture makes you think about parallel Universe where people earn ×100 times more and don't mind paying £5k per chair.Very interesting and educational.Love this shop.

  • butterfly X

If you're looking for something improbably expensive, even beyond the ridiculous, then do visit! Staff are very friendly and usually knowledgeable. The ambiance of the store is welcoming and warm.

  • Paul Wood

Beautifully curated items that delight, set in a unique location. Very attentive assistants available to help. Cafe is well stocked and provides an unhurried escape from the hustle of London life.

  • Eddie Wailes

I shopped two lights in-store 8 months ago, recently one of the lights became faulty. I reached out to the customer support receiving great quick help rectifying the problem. Buy with confidence!

  • Sadia Russell

Absolutely awful. Please do not order anything from them. Customer service is completely useless they have been so unhelpful after having inaccurate information on their website for product.

  • Mac Morrison

Conran shop is a little lack luster - theres some gems in there but you have to hunt them out. There seems to be a lot of 'tech' accessories - and I had a hard time finding any presents.

  • Emma Davidson

Great selection of items. Good for gift shopping. My favourite part is the scented candles. Well known names and newer ones. Cafe is also great for a sit down and using the computer.

  • Jacqui Venter

Such fun gadgets and good coffee. Phone chargers (always a bonus) and zany table design. The staff in the restaurant however are very stuck up. As aloof as their punters I'm afraid.

  • R Costa

im in shock. i’ve spent 2k on a sofa, online, 4 months have passed and no signs of it, customer service non existent, phone lines shut, emails not answered. i cannot believe this.

  • Kokoroko

First time in ages but what a great experience lovely attentive helpful staff and some really unique products. Had a really fun time here can’t wait to explore the rest of the it

  • Richard Hall

As ever great selection across modern design classics but incredibly expensive compared to buying from brands direct, so becoming more of a museum than a savvy retail destination

  • Bernd Leygraf

the range of stuff is amazing, the displays are great. Prices are not just high but breathtakingly overpriced. For that reason alone the store (and chain) is not recommended.

  • Vassilis Ipsilantis

Great design and manufacture furniture and decoration. It's the shop you buy only high quality and value objects crafted with passion for art.One of a kind in London.

  • Richard Voyce

The Marylebone store has always been a firm favourite for furniture and gift purchases. Always something fabulous to buy, it's impossible to come away empty handed!

  • Amy Herawati

Great items, always fun to look around. Excellent customer service. Chair and seat pad delivered promptly and in excellent condition. Also good communication.

  • Andy Rain

A great shop full of things that would work well for presents when you haven't a clue what to buy. Some of the items aren't as expensive as you might imagine.

  • Lili Sarkadi-Nagy

overall, a great experience and a pleasant atmosphere, well-curated pieces - however, not very wallet-friendly, which is unfortunate for broke design lovers

  • David Chant

What a great choice of products. We will visit the store at some point in the future. Finally we visited the store. I think I need a better paid career!!.

  • Christina Morgan

Great design items, very much on the expensive side . No organic tea in the shop. Very disappointing for such a trendy place. Staff very friendly though.

  • Sean O'Brien

Very nice shopping experience, plenty of unusual items that you can't find on the regular high street stores... Recently stocking Netatmo range …

  • Nick Wilson

Fantastic curated homewares and furniture along with little gorgeous things you won’t find anywhere else. Accommodating staff and a cafe to boot!

  • Gustaf Boström

You will certainly find something you want! Unfortunately a store with great price tags. However, inspiration is for free and you'll get it here.

  • Y oh

Have lovely collection of interior items inside. So nice to visit. Have lots of ideas for all ages. Worth to visit. Love the decorations inside.

  • Njomza Qerimi

Its a great place for gifts and home furniture.. very unique and fun designs. Some pieces are a bit pricey for what they’re worth, but hey..

  • A Y-L

my favourite shop in the neighbourhood - always great for meeting friends and buying birthday gifts. My usual birthday gift shopping place.

  • Alex Pol

A bit pricey place, but brilliant visual merchandising and selection of goods. Caffee on the ground floor is nice with seating and space.
