I've been here to meet up with my baby group as well as for a treat brunch for myself. The staff are very friendly it's very laid back and relaxed. The food is great, I go for the brunch options but they also do pizzas. Some of the combinations sound odd but everything has tasted great. There is lots of space for bikes outside or inside on a rack. Also space for prams inside.

I recently had breakfast at The Dynamo in London and wanted to share my thoughts on the experience. Here's a brief review: The quality of the food was generally good. The flavors were satisfying, and the ingredients appeared to be fresh and well-prepared. My experience was somewhat overshadowed by the service. While the staff was not overtly unfriendly, there seemed to be a lack of attentiveness and warmth that one might expect during a breakfast outing. This aspect could have certainly contributed to a more pleasant atmosphere. However, there was a hiccup that dampened my overall experience. Upon receiving the bill, I noticed that a service charge had been automatically added. While I understand that this is a common practice in many restaurants, it's essential to respect the fact that service charges are non-obligatory, as indicated by official government sources. It was disappointing to see this charge added without any prior acknowledgment or consent.

My partner & I visited for lunch on Saturday early afternoon. We both had a pizza each. The pizzas were pretty good quality and priced about where you would think they should be. There was no check-back notably. Towards the end of my partners pizza, she noticed a strand of hair baked into the cheese of her pizza which was too long to be mine and to short and wrong colour to be hers. We alerted the wait staff who offered to make another pizza however we were both nearly finished and too full for more food. We asked for the bill which we paid in full after asking for the service to be removed. Overall, a pretty cool place which could have been a much better experience if there was no hair in the cheese of the pizza and if the service had been removed from the bill as a means of apology. Unlikely we would return.

Can't leave a new review for some reason so updating an old one. Went last night for pizza in a large group. Fantastic pizza for their £10 Weds pizza offer (the Bauhaus pizza was delicious) and great service from Peter! Everyone in our party was super happy . Great brunch place. The food is fantastic, unfortunately they've stopped doing pizzas at lunchtime so now my husband won't go. In the evening they only do pizzas which puts me off (and they turn off the coffee machine at 4pm ) so we don't go at all now. We used to be there all the time when they did pizzas all day and had more choice in the evening. Hope they have a change of heart . Thank you Dynamo for your reply. Such great news. We will be back! And my husband will be delighted

Came here for a pre-birthday breakfast. I’m very local who has lived off Deodar Road for 20 years. Manager was rude when we asked to sit at a booth, said no you will get a two table. Not very accommodating and short in attitude. The table we were given was unstable and when we told the manager he said I guess you want to move and didn’t take us to the table, just pointed and stormed off. What’s wrong with him? He needs to calm down. Rest of staff were lovely. We won’t be back I’m afraid, had a similar vibe last time we came in. Not acceptable for today’s dinning establishments.

It was a sunny day and loved the outdoor seating, however everything else about our experience was “meh” and were extremely disappointed with the service. We were “greeted” by a miserable guy, who basically said sit anywhere and never returned to the table until the food came. We had to get up for water and again to order our food. He then had the cheek to charge 12.5% service charge. We never got asked about how our food was, nor if we wanted anymore drinks. The ice coffee I ordered was warm and the pizza was average, so having spent over £20 each on lunch I was very disappointed. Wouldn’t recommend at all.

This place was an absolute rip off. I left hungry, the food was so bland and small portions, £4.70 for an orange juice for my 3 year old, and nearly 10 for a bacon sandwich one strip, a slight spread of avacado. no sides or anything. My sons pizza was left sitting there for 10 min before anyone passed it to us. One of the servers just gave me the pay machine no receipt so I couldn’t even check what was on there. I had to ask for a receipt and they look annoyed. Will never come back, a shame as I live across the road and I would’ve been a regular. It would be nice to be compensated for a bad experience so hopefully I can consider coming back.

EDIT 20/6/23: Locks now installed and CCTV being sorted so happy to update review, really appreciate the quick response and efforts here :) Great cafe on the whole with excellent pizza and drinks, but after a spate of recent thefts of personal belongings and bikes, it was disappointing to hear management take little interest in creating a safer environment and have no working CCTV at the front of the premises either. This is a popular spot for cyclists, and the cycling community acknowledge that bikes are always left at the owner's risk even when in the racks inside, but would be grateful if, like other cafes, simple locks are provided to act as a deterrent.

A pleasant cycling themed cafe where we had a couple of pizzas, Tasty but with a thin bottom that soon went soggy. The soft drinks are ridiculously overpriced. Throw in the service charge (please note that we paid as we went to leave. We were not handed a bill and just passed the payment machine with the amount set and expected to tap my card) and it was almost £30 for two Margheritas and two cokes which we didn't think was good value. I went in the early evening and the place was very quite and the staff amused themselves by throwing a ball for a dog to chase alongside our (inside) table which seemed a little strange and very unhygienic. Won't go back.

  • Ben Cane

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with choosing the meals. I had the chorizo hash. It was delicious. However, I would say it’s heavy for one of the hottest days of the year. The menu was so good I really was struggling to decide what to order. The coffee was nice, I would have liked the latte to be a little bigger. Outside of that was a great place. I will definitely be going back the next time I am in London.

Without doubt my favourite place for a coffee, and their new brunch menu is out of this world… That cheese kimchi toastie is jaw droppingly tasty! Never thought something would beat the chorizo hash. Not only this, they love humans and dogs the same, my pup Goose literally runs there every morning to see her best mate Moony, and I run for my cappuccino fix. I couldn’t be happier that dynamo is part of my daily routine, and all the happy faces of the staff are part of it too! Thank you Joe and Team!!

Went as part of a group and there was a mix of orders across their menu. Food was very good on all fronts, quick to come out and tasty. Although a lovely young lady took our orders, two male members of staff that served us were very unpleasant. The taller, balding man who has his dog at the front (to be clear, loved the dog and she was very friendly. Perhaps her owner could take a leaf out of her book) was particularly rude.

I visited the café last Sunday morning to meet up with friends. While the coffee was enjoyable, I couldn’t help but notice that the staff appeared somewhat distant and cold, which surprised me given the easy-going atmosphere of the place. There was a small incident when I inquired about cinnamon for my latte, and the response was a bit abrupt. It’s possible that the male staff member who served me may have been having an off day. Just a heads-up for anyone planning to visit!

Dynamo is on the way home on my nine mile cycle commute. Having found I had a puncture I called in on the offchance they may be able to sell me an innertube or repair kit. The staff there were fantastic, providing me tools, a place to prop my bike and pump. Weirdly the air in my tire got me back the remaining eight miles or so to Streatham which I can only conclude means that they have some form of magic air for tires?! Anyway it was very much appreciated thanks guys!

Very nice place for a dinner! They mainly have pizza, but its so worth it and it fills you up quite nicely as well. The food is quite cheap compared to other places which is always a plus. The truffle fries are a must! You also don’t need to book this place and we only waited for about 15 minutes, which is really not that bad considering that you need to have a booking for most restaurants/pubs. An absolutely hidden gem, some of the nicest staff as well! The service was great and quite speedy as well :)

The food and drinks are excellent in quantity, taste and appearance. The prices are sensible. The staff are very friendly and always warm and accommodating, even when our group of ladies get chatty and overstay their welcome. Love this restaurant!

Big fan of the Dynamo, just off the main High Street in Putney it offers a great breakfast/brunch/lunch and dinner menu. Great Caravan coffee and a range of beers on tap as well. Service always with a smile and everyone is happy to help. Lots of seating indoors with additional seating outside. Normally has the bike racing on the TV. There’s parking for the bicycles inside which is a great bonus.

A great "hipster" brunch location with a cycling theme (for some reason!?). The menu is really good and makes a refreshing change to the normal breakfast / brunch faire. Chorizo hash on sourdough toast is excellent! The Coffee is good & the prices are not bad either. There is street parking outside which you can use one of the parking apps to pay for. (You wouldn't want to pay via cash, you are a hipster after all...)

  • Ornella Blanchard

Great venue with awesome food! A great little venue for everyone! The menu is versatile and easy to choose from. Their sourdough bread is to die for! They have a kids menu and lots of space for prams and buggies. The service is good and wouldn't have anything to complain about. Absolutely love going there and I always return once a week for either a quick coffee and a bite or a nice lunch.

  • LewisJoyce

Pizza was out-of-this-world! I had the Tourmalet which was a spicy, delicious, and perfectly cooked. I tried the Schneider Weisse beer which was great. The staff were super accommodating and our host/waitress Joey was amazing, very attentive and sociable. We were made to feel at home and can't wait to come home again! Five stars and a sixth if I could! Cycling lovers heaven!

  • Todd Sproule

Cycle themed bar/restaurant with good selection of food, drinks with great table service. I had the in-house version of eggs Florentine on sour dough bread which was nice but a bit over loaded with spinach. My colleagues had the sour dough Stelvio veggie pizza with they both rated highly. Overall good experience and nice to have different lunch time options in Putney.

  • Tim Keates

A enjoyable breakfast and strong well made coffee. I would note I was surprised with the pricing structure which made the light meal at the very top end of my budget for breakfast. My friend and i incurred an additional charge for soya milk instead of cow's milk & service was charged at 12.5% on top of prices. Please read the price list & menu carefully.

  • M M

3 stars just because of the nice staff and the pretty shop. Food quality on the average, we were 6 people and we got a lot of difference dishes and we all agreed that didn’t meet the expectations and the price. Coffee awful. I’m sorry, but serving a coffee like that is almost offensive. You can clearly see from the picture. Prices a bit too high.

Me and my cycling buddies visited this place after a trip to Richmond Park one Sunday and we really liked this cool place. It's perfect for cyclist with storage inside but more importantly the coffee and cakes were great. Loss of one star due to late serving of coffee which came in dribs and drabs.

Really nice, tasty and unique pizzas. Flavours are amazing, with contrast and different tastes. All of them with a pinch of freshness or light spiciness. I love the dough, thin and crunchy on the borders ( and properly cooked!) Looking forward to go again and try the rest of the assorted menu!

Very good value for money! Check out the lunch special 12£ for two pizzas! The pizzas are quite nice, sometimes really good, other times good enough. This is my favorite veggie one, with smoked mozzarella, courgettes and onions! Apart from pizzas they also have nice brunch dishes!
