Ahoy, mateys! Join me as we embark on a maritime adventure to The Fisherman's Restaurant in Seattle, a place where the sun shines bright, the Great Wheel spins like a siren's song, and the food is as fresh as the salty sea breeze. Picture this: a cool, breezy, blue-sky Sunday afternoon, and you're basking in the sunlight streaming through the big windows at your perfect table by the waterfront. As you take in the bustling harbor, you can't help but feel your spirits lift as you sip on a cold Old Seattle Lager ($7) and watch the boat traffic and the bright blue umbrellas, all neatly tied and waiting to shade happy patrons on this idyllic day. Now, let's dive into that Spicy Shrimp Mac & Cheese ($19), a dish that's a siren's call for your taste buds. With campanelle noodles, chipotle seared shrimp, white cheddar, and sourdough breadcrumbs, this maritime marvel had me hooked, line and sinker. It was the perfect balance of heat, shrimpiness, and ooey-gooey cheesy goodness. Next up, the House-Made Clam Chowder ($15), served in a sourdough bread bowl. It was like a warm, comforting embrace from your favorite pirate, the creaminess soothing your soul like the lull of the waves. Sure, it may not be the most mind-blowing chowder in town, but it's the ideal companion for your sun-kissed, seaside reverie. As you wash down your feast with a TIETON Bourbon Barrel Peach Cider ($9), you appreciate the attentive service provided by your waiter, even as you discover that the menu is as outdated as a treasure map drawn by a drunken pirate. Management, you've got a real treasure in your staff – don't let them walk the plank by saddling them with mystery fees and outdated menus! Speaking of mystery fees, our bill came with a 3.0% enigma tacked on. Our trusty waiter couldn't quite put his finger on its purpose, but speculated that it might be COVID-related. Hey, Fisherman's management: Get your act together, savvy? You're sitting on a goldmine of great food, stellar views, and top-notch staff. Don't rock the boat with confusing charges and menu mishaps. In conclusion, The Fisherman's Restaurant is a seaworthy spot for any hungry landlubber looking for good grub and a killer view on a perfect sunny day. Just beware of the management's Bermuda Triangle of blunders, lest ye find yourselves adrift in a sea of confusion.

Came here after doing a boat cruise off the water. It was a pretty chilly morning so I asked the server for for some hot chocolate. She brings me a lukewarm hot chocolate with a bowl of whipped cream on the side.. My cousin asked for a hot chocolate as well and hers came out much hotter than mine.. I didn’t even drink the lukewarm hot chocolate and asked her shortly after for another one because it wasn’t hot and it was cold outside where we were sitting. She brings us two more hot chocolates but this time they are bland… it was just brown hot water.. we didn’t drink it.. the mugs were probably 5 or 6 oz mugs.. again we told our server again about the hot chocolate. My this time it had started raining and everyone had moved inside but us. But then it started to rain harder so we just moved inside without being seated again and the server looked annoyed that we did that. So we tell her about the hot chocolates being bland and she said “I don’t know what to tell you guys, I put a giant spoon full of chocolate in it” and we just kind of looked at her confused .. I don’t know what she wanted us to say to that.. the hot chocolate wasn’t chocolate at and or hot.. Anyways we ordered a side of smoked salmon, a clam chowder in a bread bowl and PNW captains plate. The smoked salmon was so good! The best I have ever had with such a rich but not over powering taste. The clam chowder was the best I have ever had! It was such a balance of flavors, not fishy at all and nice and creamy! The captains plate had a delicious fried halibut and Alaskan pollock, so good! The Pablo prawns were good too but the calamari was a miss. We didn’t eat it, it had no flavor.. the fries could have been fried longer, they were a little soggy but over all we had such a good meal! And despite the annoyed server, I would recommend this place.

I usually have good luck selecting restaurants while I am traveling. However, this time, I'm disappointed in my selection. I was made to feel 'less-than' being a single diner by the hostess and matradee. If it were not for the kindness of my waiter, I would have left. I am giving service a higher rating than food and atmosphere simply because my waiter made me feel welcome. I ordered a signature soup and a specialty salmon dish. The cooked food was over seasoned and overcooked. The tables in the outside area were set such that the space felt overcrowded. I was seated at the entrance edge of the outdoor seating area and watched as it was difficult for guests to navigate to and from their tables. As was advertised, the outdoor area is situated below the piers' farriswheel, which was unique and interesting. However, once in the area was nothing more than a happenstance novelty. There was a nice open area outside of the outdoor seating area where guests could walk up to the pier edge. However, I am not sure if that area belongs to the restaurant or it it was a pier commons area. My experience was every disappointing as I found ... except for my waiter .. my dining encounter to be just average.

After reading several menus, we decided to eat at the fisherman. It has a great location on the water next to the Ferris wheel. When we arrived, they were pretty busy so we needed to wait at the bar. There was only one bartender for the bar area and the entire restaurant. So it took a while for us to get our drinks. When the bartender was able to help us, he was friendly, made great drinks and was obviously working very hard and keeping up with demand as best he could. We passed our compliments along to the manager. The outdoor area has a fun atmosphere area. It took a while for our server to get to us because they were busy, he was very friendly. We had a good time, but the food was not great and over priced. The calamari strips don’t taste like they’re made with calamari. They looked and tasted like fish sticks, and came with ketchup. Not the calamari we were expecting. We got the crab dip with tortilla chips. It’s a very small ramekin of crab dip and costs over $20. We also shared some mussels which were bland. Overall, we had a good time, but all the food was subpar and over priced. We were very disappointed in the seafood since we were on the water in Seattle

The sights around the restaurant were pretty. However, that’s as far as I would praise it. Upon arrival, we were greeted by hosts who gave us a bit of an attitude while having us wait to be seated. Despite the restaurant being mostly empty, we had waited about 10 minutes before we finally got seated. Our server approached us and rushed us for our orders. There was no attempt at small talk, just straight to business. We waited about 45 minutes for our orders to come and not all of us in our party had received our orders. The (manager?) approached our table and asked us how the food was but left before we could even respond. The food was not the best in terms of quality and the members of my party who did receive their orders complained about the food having a somewhat stale aftertaste. Overall, our experience with the restaurant was not pleasant. The views are great. The service? Not so much. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Food was ok. Soup was great, but value of seafood dishes for the quantity & quality was was sub par. We had a group of 9 but sitting at 2 different tables. We were not told till when we got the bill that both tables were all on one bill and they could not split the bill. One table just ordered meals and a drink while the other table had meals plus a bunch of appies and extra drinks. When the server said she could make an exception and split the bill, she told us after she split it that all the appies and extra drinks were split between both the tables. The second table ended up paying way too much for food and drinks that we didn’t even eat. With larger groups the servers should let everyone know ahead of time what they should expect with bills. We could have told her from the start to separate the tables. Not fair to people who paid way too much. And we would have been happy to still pay the auto gratuity - just not happy with the end of evening experience.

I originally came in for a couple of drinks since it was right next to the Big Wheel. But after seeing fresh local fish on the menu, I had to give it a try. My bartender was very knowledgeable on the menu and made a super tasty Bloody Mary as i looked over what to eat. Since Salmon is one of my favorites, I had to order. Honestly, it is absolutely delicious. From the columbian river Salmon to the rice and vegetables, all wonderful. I was suprised how the vegetables were tangy and complimented the fish. The rice was great as well. I'm not usually a rice person, but the added mushrooms were a nice touch. After the much filling meal, I ordered 1 oyster shooter, and that little thing had a Kick! Very Tasty!! Next time I'm in the area I will most definitely stop by.

Beautiful scenery however the food is awful. My salmon was raw still and my husbands halibut and chips were so undercooked the batter was still sticky. I complained as we both couldn’t eat our meals and the server told us the manger adjusted the bill. When the bill came, the manager took off my salmon ($35) however not my husbands meal that wasn’t edible. I asked to speak with the manager who was totally rude about it. He eventually reversed both meals, the salmon ($35) and the halibut and chips ($34). Not impressed with the attitude of the manager setting that we didn’t order something we just “didn’t like” and the server could see we were not happy and totally avoided our table. Needless to say, happy the charges were reversed however I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Visited the Fisherman’s Restaurant in Seattle on the waterfront primarily to get a crab feast.  The restaurant was very busy and had a long wait for table.  No reservations are taken, but once added to the waitlist you can wander the pier until they page you on your phone. Front desk was friendly and efficient, but the table service was lacking in attentiveness.  Entrees included Fish n chips, Crab Louie Salad and two different crab dinners. All the dishes were fairly standard, with the exception of the Dungeness crab on one of the crab dinners.  Surprisingly it had a dry old taste to it, typically of crab that is borderline fresh. The restaurant is a nice location (at the end of the pier) with nice ocean views and fun to experience, but the food and service was just average.  Overall, the variety of crab is good, but prices and quality may not be worth the visit.

Those who are looking for cheap eats, beware! While the food, from the clam chowder to the crab and fried fish are all delicious, this is by no means a cheap place. However, we sat outdoors, and we had a wonderful view of the wharf, and the service was excellent - even had a server saying she normally doesn't do clam chowder, but will do for this restaurant. If you want a decent meal here, perhaps with a family of 3-4, be prepared to spend well over $100-150, but I'll say, if you have it, it is worth it. Much more worth it than the sub-4 stars the cumulative reviews gives.

“The manager is too busy to talk to customers.” This should tell you everything you need to know about this place. Stop here on a Monday afternoon for lunch. Sat outside and server took my order. 45 minutes went by and the server came back to tell us she was busy and was able to enter the order. We wanted to wait albeit it was going to be a two hour lunch; however, when I asked for the manager, I was told the manager was busy and we could leave if we wanted. The server was just bitter and unapologetic. I wish she finds a better job. This please. Read other reviews. This place is not worth it. We ended up having lunch somewhere else. The food was delicious and save me over $100 versus this overpriced restaurant.

Being born a raised in a coastal city/town (Galveston,Tx), I'm very familiar with seafood. If you're looking to eat what's listed as prawns on their menu...disregard! They're nothing more than extra jumbo 16/20 shrimp. NOT PRAWNS!!! Google Prawns vs. Shrimp, and you'll see the difference. Ordering drinks? Be careful. The glasses were dirty. The food was overpriced, and the overall experience left me to realize the place was nothing more than a tourist trap. I will say my server was engaged, energetic, and attempting to provide the best dining experience for myself and my future wife. It's just sad that he has to work for a place that's into false advertising.

I've been here twice for the Crab Feast though not recently so this review is dated. Many things change often over the span of years, particularly here on the "left coast". Liberal politics has much to do with the unfavorable environments experienced today. Restaurant management can choose to overcome but rarely make the choice to strive for excellence. When I was there, the food and service were outstanding. As it was labeled as a "Feast", there was plenty of food and all of it was good. The service was prompt, courteous and friendly. Families with unruly children under 12 and large groups should go elsewhere.

We had a nice lunch. Our server was Kevin. He felt he was late getting to us and was very nice and helpful throughout our meal. The restaurant was in good order. It was clean. Checked out the restroom, and it was clean as well. I ordered a fisherman's old fashion and I like it very much. My wife had a glass of red wine and it was nice too. She ordered the fish and Chips and ate what she could until she was full. I had the Salmon BLT. juicy and flavorful. I ate the whole thing. Their fries were decent.

Stopped in this restaurant while going to the ferry wheels . Nicely located just next to the ferry wheel . Loved the inside of this restaurant. Lots of space to sit and amazing breeze outside . Lots of outdoor seating . It becomes really crowded during peak hours . They have a full fledged bar and amazing varieties of IPAs. Superb service . The man in bar was so positive and did an awesome job . Finger food was good. Mostly fish and seafood items . parking is an issue . Not many around . I had to pay 14$ an hour for a parking garage nearby . Crazy . Overall a very good experience .

Had a fantastic meal under the glow of the Seattle ferris wheel. The other big seafood restaurants close by either had no reservations or the wait was an hour long. We came upon this place and were not disappointed! Menu choices were great. Had the halibut tacos that were delicious, the shrimp and chips, and the crab boil. Very very good all the way around. Food came out super fast and our server was great as he was dealing with a group next to us that was a bit rowdy and keeping us taken care of. Drinks were good and the beer was not over priced. I would definitely recommend.

I had a great experience dining here. Service is excellent and the ambiance is overflowing. Great views of the harbor. I chose to sit inside despite the unusual beautiful day this wacky April. I have been out walking the downtown area all day. This place gave me a chance to have a cold brew, relax and do some people watching. Local oysters were definitely not in season but nonetheless I had to have a few. Clam chowder is to die for and so is the sourdough bread. I could only imagine during late Spring or Summer this place must get packed! Thank you for a great experience.

I booked a large group that was disembarking a harbor cruise nearby. They said it was a great place for atmosphere, but the food was terrible. Mind you, we spent $1,300 and were not compensated in any way for the poor meals. I recently reached out and wrote a letter to the restaurant but haven't received a response. Had they tried to correct the situation, I might have provided more stars. Because of the lack of attention to the matter and bad food, I give one star. I do a lot of large bookings - I would not use this restaurant again.

This is an absolutely amazing restaurant. The staff are so friendly and create a great dining experience. I split the crab boil with a friend, and their clam chowder was delicious! It's pricey if you're hungry, but not if you share among two people. When I went they were out of king crab, but there was still plenty of snow and dungeness that I feel we got our money's worth. This also seems like a great spot for date nights to come. Thank you!

This is a tourist trap. Overpriced food and very poor service. I ordered a Bloody Mary that was essentially vodka and water; the oysters were pathetically small for $18; and the rice was so over cooked, it was inedible. Additionally, the drink was sent back, but not removed from the bill. Ninety minutes and $75 later, and I’m eating Subway to supplement my poor dinner at The Fisherman’s Restaurant. Come for the views- not the service or the food. PS- there are benches you can sit on for free and bring your own meal. That is the much better choice, in my opinion. TLDR: don’t waste your time and money here. Go anywhere else.

  • Eric Tank

Nice seafood restaurant on the water, with a large patio for a great view in the shadow of the huge ferris wheel. The food was fresh and quite tasty, though most things were a bit spicier than expected (heavy paprika on the fish and prawns, and pepper in the house salad with balsamic). Just be aware the rice pilaf has mushrooms. Our waitress was very helpful and was happy to get a replacement side dish, and was all around as awesome as anyone could ask for!!

I ordered the highly recommended seafood platter thing with muscles, a couple different crabs, and some amazing sauce. I've never had crab with soggy meat and beef jerky like in the same cluster. It's like it was sitting in a pot with part out of boiling water for far too long. It's my fault I didn't say anything but in the plus side the broth was amazing. By far the best part of the platter. The item I ordered was bottom left of the menu.. I wouldn't recommend. Took a pic of the before.

The restaurant is right next to the great wheel, perfect view from the deck and you can observe the people inside great wheel Food is ok, salad was not really fresh and crab dip is bit too greasy, not my personal preference. If you like the rich taste and love cheese, this would probably be perfect for you. The server Kevin is very attentive and welcoming, five star service for sure also plenty indoor/outdoor seating, great for larger groups.

Sat outdoors since weather so good. Appetizers of oysters, spicy shrimp mac and cheese, shrimp cocktail and chowder. All were wonderful! Should have shared crab and bacon melt. Too big after all the apps. But the best part was the homemade sourdough. Perfect. Don't be scared of the long line, it's probably for the ferris wheel. Hint: ride first, eat after!

Crab cakes were pre-bought and looked like cat food blocks. I’ve had better from the seafood counter at the grocery store. Not fresh food right by the ocean, very sad. My husband had the most expensive crab legs on the menu and Thea were skimpy in the crab meat. We go to the Gulf of Mexico a lot and the seafood there is fabulous. We were expecting so much more from this place.

I was visiting a friend in Seattle and after exploring the pier in the afternoon, we had an early dinner. It was a Saturday night and we didn't have a reservation and we waited maybe 5 minutes to get a table. The menu is fairly small but there are a lot of appetizers if you want to go that route. We got the Alaskan fish & chips, the clam chowder, Clam & Longostino Linguine, and Fettuccine Alfredo with salmon-- all were large portions and very good. The view really can't be beat.

There were few people, a lot of staff. We waited a long time for the waiter to take our order. First impression was waiting time for our waitress.... not good. Appetizers (clam chowder and calamari) were very good. But main course - Capitan’s plate was not good. The worse on the plate was FISH (shrimps and calamari were ok). But two small pieces of fish tasted old and missed salt. For this $ I was expecting much better taste. My wife’s crab & bacon sandwich was definitely better than my dish. This is very disappointing when at Fisherman’s restaurant the worst is the fish!

Spectacular spot for lunch or dinner. We tried several appetizers and all were delicious our favorite, at the recommendation of our waiter, was the Clam Chowder! So delicious, best we've ever had. Really, this is 41/2 stars! The patio is the place to be. The view of the sound and the Great Wheel are insanely cool. The staff is super attentive. The menu has a nice variety. The prices are reasonable. This place is a hit. The clam chowder is delicious and the prawns and chips were split. The fries were just mediocre, but the prawns were huge and tasty. Stopped by here while doing the tourist-y stuff near the Great Wheel, and it was very meh. My wife ordered the mussels, and they were OK but came with too much of the ... sauce (??) ... water (??) The mussels also had a bit of sand in them, indicating they may not have been properly cleaned. I ordered the clam chowder, and it was also just OK. Pretty bland, needed a good deal of salt and a whole lot of black pepper. Some of the clams had an odd texture as well.

They were really busy... but that doesn't have to mean I settle for below standard service and cold and dry deep fried fish. 2 pieces and fries for $$29$$. Family outing, and I wasn't going to complain... until now! Seriously, take your business to the Crab Shack or anywhere else...Red Robin, perhaps. Here's what $$29$$ of fish looks like at the Fisherman!! The plate was just sat down in front of me.

They have a late night happy hour, 7pm to close! The food isn't anything special, but good enough if you are hungry and drinking. The $6 draft beers for happy hour and the close proximity to the wheel and the Sound makes it a nice atmosphere and decent choice. The bartender was personable and fun to be around.

Oh man, I really wanted to love this place since it was so close to the water, but it really disappointed. The fish and chips were ok, as well as the Mac and cheese but the mussels weren’t good, the broth tasted super bland and the mussels were small and tasted off.

Food was OK, service was nothing special. This place has been recommended to us, so our expectations were high; the food was not as great as the recommendation. The atmosphere, however, was excellent. We dined outdoors with an ocean view and a view of the amazing ferris wheel, which we later rode.

Just passing through the Seattle area & following the suggestion of a friend to eat here. The atmosphere, workers & food were all wonderful. Our server, Marquis, knew his stuff ! I ordered the “Red Chowder” because I’ve never had it. Let me tell you…it DID NOT disappoint ! It has the taste of a seafood version of Brunswick Stew !? The ONLY struggle I had was the high prices, but…You get what you pay for !!!

Took someone to this place for my first time in Seattle and I was impressed. Only took 25 minutes to be seated, they called when my table was ready. Great views of the water and mountains in the distance near sunset. Delicious food and great service! I recommend the NY steak with Oscar! Extraordinary!

This was a nice place, sun was coming down and we all had to move to one end of the table. Tony our server was really polite, informative. Food was just ok…my Caesar’s salad was very good, the shrimp Mac and cheese was fishy tasting.

A lot of choices of where to eat but I liked that you can sit outside and have a view. Drawback is that the Seattle Ferris-wheel is right there but there are still scenic views. Service was good. Lots of daily specials but don’t forget the simple things likes Fisherman’s chowder, which was delicious. Also the smoked salmon appetizer was a home run in my view. Great place. Give it a try.

Such an awesome place for sunset right next to the water and ferris wheel. Good vibe with good seafood selection. Our server was very friendly and kind. Would love to come back more often.

I had the Caesar Salad with Salmon. The salmon was a bit dry and just out of the fridge not warmed. So it was pre-cooked. My husband had the grilled salmon dinner and his was better and not dry. The service was good and decor was nautical. View of the water and Ferris wheel. The clam chowder was very good.

We had a nice lunch here while visiting family. Sat outdoors on the large deck next to the ferris wheel and overlooking the water, and it was glorious. The food was quite good, especially the Alaskan King Troll and some of the unique fish sandwiches. Our server was pleasant, but I got a sense that the restaurant (like many places) may have been suffering from a staffing shortage.

Don t be fooled by the ice cube lady that “welcomes” you and takes you to your table without a word or a look. She was the same with the others around us. On the other hand, the waiter was really cool smiling and efficient. The food was good. The bread, the fish and chips all good.

Can't give half stars but 4.5 would be my rating. The fish and chips and good. Crab Caesar was really good. Bloody Mary's aren't too bad but everyone has their flavor profile. Outdoor seating is pretty much under the Wheel with great views of Elliot Bay. Been here many times with only one ok experience.

I'd like to thank the management for the great experience we had on our son's ninth birthday. Our server Chris was outstanding. His customer service is incredible and he really made our meal special. The food was amazing and the prices are very reasonable. Our son really enjoyed himself. Thanks again and you're lucky to have Chris and the others. They were all great.

Went in for lunch for two, they had us seated and taking our order all within 10 mins. Appetizers, drinks, and our main course came out fast with awesome customer service! Seafood tasted fresh and was well portioned to keep you full. Will definitely be coming back when I visit Seattle again!

Great food at a reasonable (on pricier side) price! We got a bucket of mussels for $15 and they were super good - very sweet and tasty. Servers took a little bit of time but service was responsive and good overall. Clam chowder (not pictured) was also very delicious!

Incredibly Poor, Slow service, oysters were dinky small with no condiments. Then adding insult to injury? Spoke to a manager and she was totally rude.. Left and headed to Elliotts (2nd pic!) where they always serve excellent seafood and have phenomenal service. Recommend the Big Wheel, skip Fisherman's!

Sure, I will take dining by the water and views of Seattle's mountains and lakes. Fish was on the menu, but I wanted a boil. The cioppino dish had both, a perfect mix. The clam chowder was so delicious. I will no longer hesitate to order any chowder from any restaurant by the sea.

LOVED this place! My Pier 57 Cosmo was top notch, and the bartender was awesome. The day started out so foggy and gloomy and ended up beautiful... albeit cold and windy. Stunning views, wonderful atmosphere, delicious clam chowder with fresh sourdough bread. Highly recommended!

So nice and not crowded at all but food needs work. Ceviche needs to have more fish less tomatoes and no raddish. Rice was hard they need a rice cooker. They need a blender for drinks. Salmon and alfredo was delicious. Pizza ok. Dessert brownie . …

Shrink-flation in full swing here. 10 pieces of bite sized calamari on what used to be a huge platter. Crab cocktail is 80% cocktail sauce. Can't believe I brought my family here. I raved about it. So embarrassing.
