A Wonderful Experience for All Ages I had the opportunity to visit the Tampa Aquarium in Florida and I must say it was a truly enchanting experience. The aquarium offers an incredible variety of marine animals and attractions that captivate visitors of all ages. Upon entering, I was immediately taken aback by the beauty and diversity of the aquatic animals. From colorful tropical fish to majestic sharks, there's a vast array of species to explore. The tanks are designed in such a way as to provide a clear and close view of the animals, which makes the experience even more exciting. The quality of the facilities is simply exceptional. The tanks are well maintained and clean, providing a healthy environment for the animals. Additionally, staff are always available to answer questions and provide information about the animals and their habitats. One of the things that impressed me the most was the affordable price of the ticket. Considering the size of the aquarium and the quality of the experience offered, the amount charged is very reasonable. The aquarium also offers discounts for families and groups, making it even more affordable for everyone. The environment inside the aquarium is peaceful and relaxing. The soft lighting and background music create a calm and immersive atmosphere, perfect for enjoying the beauty of marine animals. There are also comfortable rest areas where you can sit and gaze at the surrounding marine life. The aquarium offers a complete program for families, with interactive activities that delight children and adults alike. There are educational presentations, animal feeding and even the opportunity to touch some species. Children are sure to love this unique experience. Parking at the Tampa Aquarium is convenient and spacious. There is ample space available, which facilitates the arrival and departure of visitors. In addition, safety is a priority, with staff present throughout the area to ensure visitors' peace of mind. In summary, my visit to the Tampa Aquarium was simply wonderful. The variety of marine animals, the interactive attractions, the quality of the facilities, the affordable price, the relaxing environment, the family program, the convenient parking and the security are aspects that make this aquarium highly recommended for everyone. If you're looking for a fascinating and educational experience, don't miss the Tampa Aquarium.

YOU CAN TOUCH JELLYFISH!!! I will get to that cause it’s my favorite part! We started with the Dolphin cruise and unfortunately only saw a glimpse of a dolphin for a moment during the whole ride so that was a bummer but looking at the positives, it was beautiful outside, highly recommend sitting on the first floor towards the end of the boat where you first walk on. Great view! We then went into the penguin exhibit, loved seeing the layout on the wall that shows the different types of penguins and where they are native to. We got a picture with a penguin mascot as well which I thought was adorable. Next we checked out something I think called Moon Bay or something like that? It’s where you can TOUCH THE JELLYFISH!!! It was so freaking cool! I loved it! Then I went upstairs and began to stroll the aquarium starting with the birds and came across an employee named Crew there who was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly! 10/10 man needs a raise, what a great hire! One of my favorite things he taught me is that the barracuda is attracted to shiny things so when the barracuda was swimming by I began to wiggle my fingers that had shiny rings on them and the barracuda came right over to me and got some great pictures, it was an awesome experience! The sea turtles were MASSIVE! An incredible sight to see as well as the sharks. Overall an amazing experience and would definitely return!

Was blown away! Traveling from Seattle we had a lot of kill time after ending our cruise and, what’s more convenient than a aquarium right next door?! We took the opportunity to visit this aquarium with a huge chance to kill many hours before our flight and we had a good 3-4 hours of picture taking, and walking around to cover. They even had a full food court to enjoy lunch. We arrived at opening with 5 pieces of luggage and they even have a system to leave your belongings (at no cost)for those who have that concern of being stuck with luggage like we were. The place is nice cooled for us non-Florida folk, good gracious you people got it hot! From sharks to rays, and eels to penguins this place had it. I saw various species of fish and mammals and even got to feel jellyfish and sting rays! Seattle is known to have a nice aquarium, but it doesn’t even scratch the surface of the Florida aquarium! This is a great opportunity for anyone to go and visit. It’s a gem!

UPDATE: As a member, we got a chance to check out their new “Morph’d” exhibit and let me tell you, if you’ve already been previously but haven’t seen it, it’s well-worth a return trip. The exhibit is super cool, very interactive and high-tech, the kids loved it, and featured some really unique and interesting new critters. Noticed some additional updates as well, and really appreciate the evolving nature of the aquarium experience. ORIGINAL: Very well-laid out, comprehensive, interesting, and fun. You can generally see it in 2-3 hours if you take your time, with more time to spend at the great play area (playground, splash pad) for the kids and if you take in the regularly-scheduled presentations and shows. Membership is well worth it, not just for the main facility but also member events, discounts, and free parking in nearby lots when you register with the city. My kiddos love it and always have a great time, as do we adults. Can be busy at times of course, but weekday afternoons are calmer.

I think this place boasted of a 360 tunnel where you can see the fish over your head swimming by but there was no such thing here, which was super disappointing. I was expecting the aquarium to be a lot bigger than it was with more exhibits but it was smaller than I expected. It's great for young kids though, especially with the splash pad by the Cafe. The Cafe within the aquarium was super convenient and there is outside seating by the splash pad which makes it a perfect setup if you have young children. You can also see the Harbor and the cruise ship that's docked there. Very beautiful area that it's nestled by. The only thing that bothered me was those three little African penguins in the small enclosure outside looked so incredibly sad, staring at the wall in their small enclosure. I hope they get a bigger enclosure and more stuff that remind them of home.

My wife and I try to visit any aquarium we are near. This aquarium is by far the best aquarium we've been to so far. We thought the $40 price tag was a bit steep, but it's worth every penny. The staff was beyond friendly and knowledgeable. We witnessed some feedings. Several interactive exhibits, including "pokers cove" as we call it, where you get to touch starfish, sea anemones, and rays. Ash near the rays was so friendly and knowledgeable on the ray exhibit. The open-air marsh exhibit was awesome. Get right up close to some beautiful water fowl and birds. The jelly tank was also amazing, touching some moon jellies. By far, the best aquarium we've been to. The only thing I wish for is more exhibits showing a range of where things live and maybe a fun fact instead of just the names, but regardless, well marked displays of each animal.

We had a wonderful time at the zoo but were seriously disappointed at the value we received for the price we paid for four adults. We really enjoyed the touch exhibits. We would recommend a few things: 1- Parking lot should have a larger section dedicated to handicapped individuals. We really struggled finding a spot that wasn’t out of question. 2- Adding additional exhibits for the big things that people are looking for; like sharks, sea turtles, rehabilitating animals, penguins, etc. In reading reviews, it looks like they had shark and penguin exhibits but we didn’t see them when we went today. As expected, it was really packed due to summertime and large day camps coming through. On the plus side, they did have wheelchairs to rent for a reasonable price of $8.

I love this place. Each tank has a gorgeous display of sea creatures. Very clean. Fish look very healthy. I loved the penguin add on experience. I will never forget how adorable they are. The women who taught us about the penguins were fantastic. You can tell they really love their animals. The boat ride is a little pricey and mostly you see the industrial canal. We did see dolphins riding the bow waves of a big ship coming in which was cool. Watching the sharks get fed was really interesting. The food at the cafe was really good. Definitely try the Korean steak and noodle bowl. I also thought the soak pad for the kids was a great idea. The garden eels are my favorite to watch. This place is expensive but I do feel it is worth it.

Visited family in Tampa with our 18 month old. Family wanted to take us to the aquarium for some family fun. Being from Texas, this is the most stunning aquarium I have ever seen. So many activities for kids all around, encounters, great views. I could get lost in this place for hours with something new to see around every corner. There is a lot of walking, so definitely wear comfortable shoes! Also, there are both indoor and outdoor areas to see what this aquarium has to offer, definitely make sure to dress appropriately for the outdoors. This was November, and we were chilly in the morning and hottttt in the afternoon. Still a gorgeous day and our daughter had a blast. She took a hard nap after a day at the Florida Aquarium.

We pre-purchased tickets as the website recommended. Quick and easy entry. We came on a Friday and it was very busy with school field trips but it never really felt crowded. We spent 3.5 hours here and didn't see everything, but we really take our time going through facilities like this. We spent more time there than we expected so we grabbed a delicious pizza, the truffle mushroom. Bring your own water bottle as there are plenty of water fountains for refills and I wish I would have thought of that to save a few dollars. They offer discounts in the gift shop to members and military and apparently your USAA insurance card works as proof too. This was only a $18 ish Uber ride (before tip and non rush hour) from our hotel by Busch Gardens, so it wasn't far at all.

The Florida Aquarium is an excellent place for families with young children. There are many interactive exhibits that kids will love, such as the touch tanks and the 4D theater. The aquarium also has a large outdoor water playground perfect for hot days. However, I felt that the pricing was a bit high. Adults are charged $43 to enter, and parking is an additional $10. I also thought that the penguin exhibit was a bit disappointing. It was smaller than expected, and the penguins didn't seem active. Overall, I had a good time at The Florida Aquarium. It's a great place to learn about marine life and have fun with the family. However, I think the pricing could be slightly lower, and the penguin exhibit could be improved.

One of the best aquariums we have visited. Ticket are sold with entry times, so entry is metered. When they are busy, it doesn't feel overly crowded. The different sections seem to help with keeping smaller groups walking through. There are a lot of exhibits that all can touch and feel. Many of the areas are open on top, doesn't feel like everything is caged. For an additional charge you can scuba in one of the really large tank displays. There is water park for kids, lots having fun. The 4D shows are really cute, short enough, so children or adults don't get fidgety. We skipped the food court, but prices looked fair. The prices in the gift shop were reasonable. I definitely recommend.

This was our first visit to Tampa and I decided to give my mom this birthday present. I took her to see the city around and of course went to the Aquarium. It was a great experience especially where the birds were located, just roaming and flying around. It was very relaxing ! It is a self-guided tour but there are plenty of staff around to help. The site is very clean, organized, and you cannot be lost because there are clear directions throughout the aquarium. The experience with the rays, with the jelly fish, really interesting! Just one recommendation, don't go after 3pm if you want to get the whole experience because it will take you 2hr at least if you want to enjoy it in a calm pace .

The Florida Aquarium is beautiful. There is such a wide variety of wildlife that we don't get to see at a lot of other aquariums. Make sure you see the otters while you're there, they like to do backflips under water and propel themselves across the water... it's so adorable. The atmosphere is relaxing and the interior is very modern. The staff is extraordinarily nice. The only downside is parking, you need to walk about 5 minutes from the car but all-in-all it's really not that bad. Wait times to get inside aren't longer than 10 minutes either. This is a great place for kids, family, and friends. I highly recommend you take a visit and enjoy your day!

The aquarium is decorated for Christmas and it looks great! Lots of photo ops. We have passes so we have been several times. I recommend buying tickets online if you go during a busy time. We have the family plus membership which I love because I can bring out of town guests for free! We have a family of 4 but this membership allows you to get in a total of 6 people. The primary pass holder has to be present and show their ID. Be sure to schedule a movie time at the 4D theatre. It’s only about 15 mins but runs every 30 mins. My kids are 5 and 8 and they love it! There are great photo ops in front of the large tanks in the Coral Reef exhibit as well.

We visited in late August. Parking was a bit tough. I recommend going early in the morning, or parking not in the aquarium lot and walking. As for the aquarium, it was hands down one of the best aquariums we have been to. Extremely family friendly with tons for the kids to do and see. Lots of interactive stations and also stations you can pay for. Staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Wish we could of spent more time there! We brought a wagon, but didn’t end up using it (my kids are 5yo and almost 3). Everything is clean and signs are clearly pointed out. Can’t wait to come back!

I loved it. It was my first time at an aquarium and I loved it except the snakes. From touching the jelly fish to the stingray splashing water on me. The duck was out and chilling and I mean this thing was huge. I had fun but never knew some many creatures exist, can you imagine the ocean. I enjoyed the gift shop and the fact they had a section for kids to play and have fun. The bathroom outside needs a lot of help cause baybee someone stunk that bathroom up. I nearly died. Best recommendation is to go inside. Honestly I’ll be back again to touch the stingray.

This aquarium is great fun for the whole family. My recommendation is to visit once and if the trip isn’t terrible and you think you might visit more than once a year then just go with the membership This is sooo much more than just an aquarium they have birds, lemurs, snakes, and penguins then when your kids get just about sick of animals they have a splash pad and being in Tampa it’s always splash pad weather you can buy Concessions Of all kinds from drinks both kid and adult varieties to dipping dots

Great aquarium with lots of big projects coming! We went on a weekday just before the kids get out of school for winter break and it wasn't busy at all. I hadn't been in almost 2 years, so I was excited to see the Morph'd exhibit and to hear about the upcoming projects they are working on. I can't wait to see the new penguin habitat once its finished. For now, they have the African penguins in a small area out near the splash pad. Morph'd was really great. The interactive displays are really cool and the concept is great. Don't miss out!

Lovely aquarium, well kept, clean, plenty of interactions and activities for kids and adults. They also have a big splash pad area for kids or kids at heart lol. All animals seemed healthy and comfortable around people. If you pay extra you can get special access to diving activities, and behind the scenes. Well worth the basic entry price. Pro tip: Show military ID, and don't buy food here, it's lame and overpriced. Just walk a block and you will find a plethora of vendors and food trucks. Cheers.

Best outing with family .. It's the centre of Downtown and one must visit with family. My kid is 2 years old and enjoyed it a lot the whole time. If you book prior the entrance tickets no need to wait in queue line , must say like a VIP entrance. Pros : 1.Variety spices of Fishes 2.Parking ( official paid parking $10 per day ) 3.Canteen with limited option food 4.Touch pods 5.Play area for kids Cons: 1.Maintenance of aquarium tanks 2.Expensive tickets

I've never been so jealous of not being a fish or porpoise. The entire establishment is expertly clean and meticulous on presentation. The care for the animals is paramount, and it shows. My family and I enjoyed every moment of the day at the aquarium. The pictures we took came out incredible. This aquarium is a shining example of how to care and run a successful and sustainable business, equally beneficial to its inhabitants and patrons.

This aquarium a MUST! It was wonderful from start to finish and is SO much more than an aquarium. We enjoyed not only the aquatic life but also many birds, lemurs, penguins and more. There is also a playground and splash pad right next to a bar/ restaurant for the adults to enjoy a beverage. The staff was extremely informative and answered so many questions! This is a great place to bring the kids! Be sure to come here early if you want closer, cheaper parking. This destination does nearly come close to the floor space of the Toronto, Georgia, or Baltimore aquariums. However, this place does a great job curating on a much smaller scale. It is neat the aquarium allows the pelicans to roam freely. The horticultural displays in the wetlands exhibit are extensive and gorgeous! Plan to spend an hour if you come here as a couple or alone. Plan to spend two hours if you come with kids.

Ridiculous! The price is $42 for an adult!!! came to check out aquarium and see if it still exist… otters.. none of them are out, sleeping.. impossible to see.. the python was fed a jack rabbit and eating it in front of spectators.. the fish and other wildlife seem to have a limited space and all of them look unhappy… needs to be finally banned and shutdown..overall terrible treatment of animals!

What a lovely experience! We enjoyed a nice lunch at the Cafe with a cool craft beer. Then off to visit the exhibits, which were filled with a wonderful variety of species. We thoroughly enjoyed the natural Florida mangrove section. We finished the day by checking out the gift shop and getting some souvenirs. All in all a nice way to spend an afternoon. I was blown away by this aquarium! We spent about 4 hours here, which was so unexpected. I’ve been to the Georgia Aquarium (which has huge exhibits and shows) more times than I could count and I loved this one just as much. It’s very unique and there is just so much to see! We were also really impressed with the people who worked there. If you have small kids, be sure to pack a bathing suit and/or a change of clothes. There is a nice outdoor splash pad that we had no idea about!

  • elisabeth mccullough

My kids age 20, 5 & 3 all LOVED IT!!!! (Adults did to) Despite a school field trip attending while we were there we had plenty of space to roam around. Loved the layout & hands on experiences for the kids. Seating area was spacious, shaded and food was great. Splash pad and play area outside was a super cool addition!!! Admission was pricey, ($150 for 5 people) however after touring the entire aquarium and the kids playing outside I feel it was worth what we spent!!!

  • Andrew Conley

One of the best aquarium experiences I have ever had. So many exhibits and species to see! The Madagascar exhibit is amazing with the open air birds and fish all together in one dome! I was blown away by the reef tank as well 500'000 gallons! Definitely a must see when in or near Tampa! Use the website to buy tickets it's cheaper!

I grew up next to Ripley's aquarium, so I have only ever went there as a child until recently, I will say that this one was a little more confusing to navigate and seemingly allot smaller than it looked on the outside, but friendly staff, good food, and pretty views. The aquarium was super busy , took us 15 mins to find a parking spot , which cost 10 dollars , I would definitely recommend to buy your tickets online. The ticket line was outrageously long ! Can’t bring and food or water into the aquarium. Everything there was expensive. Had chicken tenders and a hamburger which was below average for the prices they charge! The bird show was very underwhelming! Overall we had a good experience!

Kid friendly aquarium. Modern interactive information about exhibits was educational and fun for all. Many various species for viewing. I highly recommend the raptor show. Kids love the splash pad and all the exhibits. They especially love the interactive ones where they can touch such as the jelly fish, sea anemones, and sting rays. The new exhibit is really nice and kid friendly. The annual family pass is really worth it and pays for itself after two visits. You could spend 2-3 hours here easily if you do everything including the 4-D shows which the kids loved as well.

  • Terrell Grooms

Loved it. I recommend it, but more for children and young adults; expanding knowledge is great at all ages. It would make a good first date, group, or a learning experience if nature and wildlife interests you. I still liked it. I wish there were more. We really enjoyed ourselves.

2nd time here in 12 years and it’s still great! The new Morph’d area is terrific. I bought tickets through my phone for 10:30 but arrived at 9:30 no trouble getting in. I parked close in the first lot with a short walk. Nice hands on, touch tanks. It’s good for 2-2 1/2 hour’s probably longer if your kids do the nice splash pads. Well worth the adults price of $32.00

We enjoyed our time at the aquarium. It was great that they have so many interactive experiences. They have a touch pool with anemones, star fish and more. They have a sting Ray encounter area. We really thought it was cool to be able to touch jellyfish. We had a great time seeing all the animals and learning about all the sea creatures.

Probably one of the most organized aquariums I’ve been too! A few hours is all you need. There is a splash pad for kids, a touch tank and many cool and unique are pieces though the exhibits. Not overly crowded, but maneuvered my way around the people

Going to the Aquarium is one of my favorite pastimes!! The kids always have a blast learning about new and interesting species. They really do have something for everyone! Having a membership here is one of the best gifts I have ever received! It doesn't matter what the weather is doing, the Aquarium is always a great time!

  • William Stubbs

They have added and are going to add many more creatures to enjoy! The Morph'd exhibit alone is worth the visit! A bit pricey, but buy online ahead of time to save $$$. Parking is $10 in nearby lot.

Great aquarium, was very surprised at the amount of aquatic life we witnessed in numerous habitats. Recommend taking the wild dolphin cruise if you have the time, great views of the skyline.

Beautiful place to spend 3 hours. From Memorial Day to Labor Day, they have a Raptor bird exhibit. The whole aquarium is worth the admission fee and a great place for kids and adults.

Very enjoyable aquarium! Fun, clean, in good repair. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was nice to see staff cleaning glass throughout. Crowds were not terrible. Saw some really neat creatures and fish, the Morph'd area was very cool, interactive and educational. More

This was really nice place. Our kids loved it!!! I love how some exhibits are half open so you can be so close to the fish and birds. Their restaurant is amazing! So many gluten free options with a decent size of food and great prices. We’ll definitely come back there again.

  • Elizabeth

it was neat seeing the animals but it was a very small aquarium. wish they had more exhibits and bigger marine animals. quite expensive for not much. the gift shop was cool though

As mentioned in other reviews, parking seems to be an issue if one doesn't arrive on the early side. There were limited spaces and I noticed one of the garages we intended to use was full. Nevertheless, we finally found a spot in the closet

Actual aquarium is fine, not as large as we expected. The poor review is more for the dolphin cruise. We bought tickets for this experience well ahead of our visit. Upon arriving to the aquarium our tickets were scanned and we were given

This place is magical. It is a great experience for families. We were really surprised by just how much there was to see. Many people said it did not take long to see everything. It took us about 4 hours to walk it all slowly and try the

This was my first visit and i love it!! Its a really nice aquarium!! I enjoy every single second with my family there, watching some big fishes, sharks jellyfish even penguins…..it was an awesome day…the staff was helpful and friendly.

  • Shane O'Mack

Ok this aquarium is so much fun. You have to take your time and look at all the tanks or displays because you can easily miss something under the water. Even in the far tank you have to look UP and see a massive turtle above your head.

  • Faith Ichart

Beautiful aquarium! Such a cool set up inside! Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Truly excellent experience for children and adults!

Basically a giant playground. More things for kids to touch than for adults to see. A few aquariums and the rest is educational stands. Feels like tourists trap being next to a cruise port.

  • Kayley Vaughn

Stunning exhibits! I was blown away by the mangrove section and getting to see all the fish, birds, and turtles up close. I loved seeing all the rescue animals in such an amazing home

  • Luis Menezes

Very nice stop for 4 hours of family fun. They have two major attractions to walk through. Also, food and kids splash pad/park. Their parking was nearby and cost $10 for the day. More
