At first glance, this location looks like a great place to book. Great pictures, bearable rate… why not? So, I decided to book it. $200 cleaning fee for 2 hours? Maybe it’ll be worth it? I proceed to book it. Day of my music video shoot comes. My crew of two and I arrive on time to begin setting up and capture every necessary shot for the visual. Since there was a cleaning fee attached to our cost, I strategically planned a confetti scene towards the end of my 2-hour window. We captured the shots, we packed our bags, and left on time. 15 minutes after I had begun driving on the highway, I get a message from Scott telling me that if I did not go back to clean up what he considered an excessive amount of confetti, he’d charge me an extra $200 for clean-up. Mind you, I had already paid $200 in my 2-hour booking totaling $613.00. No where on the listing does it say that confetti is not allowed. Unfortunately, I couldn’t cancel my next shoot to fulfill his request to come to do his job for him, but I assured him I could go help clean up what was easily vacuumable after I was done shooting my next scene. He responded with something along the lines of having an emergency clean-up done due to a booking that was right after mine and that he even had to use tweezers to pick up some of the confetti. Tweezers?! THE LIES!! A few days later I get a $219 additional invoice from Peerspace. This guy charged me $400 for cleanup; he stated that the initial $200 was only for wiping and sanitizing. Mind you, I have a cleaning business and I’d LOVE to have a cleaning order to just wipe and sanitize for $200. Not only that- they told Peerspace (the booking website I used for this space) that there was glitter in every room which was absolutely FALSE as I had only used confetti and like I previously stated, shot the scene at the end to make the cleaning easier for them. The FINAL grand total for the 2 hours I booked- $832.00. While the money isn’t much of an issue, it’s the sheer laziness and greed that was exhibited to me as a guest. Unfortunately, during our creative film shoot, a martini glass broke and he initially wanted to charge me for a new set until I informed him that I’d buy the one I broke for him myself. Of course, I promptly placed it in the very top of the trash bin so the host could see it and to also, avoid any injuries from my staff. Any opportunity to make a quick buck off of you will be taken. Heck, you could rent a room for a whole day in an extremely nice hotel here in Dallas and still have money left over and not have to worry about additional cleaning fees. Keep in mind, Peerspace only keeps the host fee while the host sets the rest of the pricing which they keep for themselves. My advice to you is find another spot to do your shoot or celebration. There are many amazing spots here in Dallas that one could rent for less than $832 for 2 hours that will not only give you an extremely great experience, but will also give you more bang for your buck. All I know is that I would never do this to any of my clients. This was my true and honest experience. As I've noticed in my dispute with this host, lying to make their inexcusable actions seem appropriate is a tool they greatly utilize. I recommend you read other reviews of this place on other websites and you'll see that I'm not the only one who has had an unfortunate, unpleasant experience here. I don’t even think I’ll release the video just because they don’t deserve publicity from my work. Thank God I have a great network of musicians and local artists who know my character, morals, and integrity and who will definitely help spread the word/ back me up. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. Book elsewhere!

I would give The Gaston Bed & Breakfast 10 stars if I could! I recently enjoyed the Gaston B & B while in Dallas for the first time. We booked the B & B for the entire weekend for a girls trip. It was well worth the indulgence! This place is phenomenal - from the cool speak easy for cocktail hour, beautiful decor throughout, luxurious surroundings to the MOST incredibly comfortable bed I've ever experienced! There are 5 bedrooms all named and decorated with a theme. We picked our rooms out of a hat and clearly any room would've been a WIN. I got the Varco (named after a TX historical oil well company). There was even a real (non-working :) gas pump in the room! The room was equipped with everything including iron + board, TV, hair dryer, fresh flowers, water and high end soaps/lotions. The friendly owner/host doesn't live there but arrived in the mornings to serve us a delicious continental breakfast. The host's attention to detail for our comfort was appreciated by all! She even provided fresh baked goods and snacks! The place is conveniently close to downtown and great restaurants right in the neighborhood. The Gaston Dallas B & B is impeccably clean and maintained and I highly recommend you choose this place the next time you're in Dallas! Thank you Maureene, our host for a fabulous first stay in Dallas!

My husband and I are not exactly Bed & Breakfast lovers, but The Gaston has such great reviews and was so reasonably priced that we decided to give it try when we planned our little getaway to the Texas State Fair. We are so happy we did! The house was just lovely, so well-appointed yet still maintaining its history. Our privacy was respected and the breakfast was simple and delicious. Staying at The Gaston made our silly little trip to the fair a luxurious and unique experience, and if we ever decide to visit Dallas again, we will not hesitate to stay here!

The rooms each have a theme centered around the history of Dallas, and we chose the Varco with its oil and gas theme. My husband loved it! It was fun, but not over done. The room was cozy and quiet, with a large bathroom and large luxurious shower. Netflix and YouTube were available on the smart TV, which made it nice to just chill in the room after a long day walking around at the fair.
Nearby activities
The owner gave us great tips on where to go for barbecue and Tex-Mex in the area.
Safety
We felt very safe here.

Breakfast was delicious, as were the snacks provided all day.

I cannot say enough good things about The Gaston! From the moment we arrived including the inviting and relaxing scent coming from indoors to the beautiful exterior, I was in love! It is a beautiful home with exquisite interior decor. I notice small details and these were breathtaking. My hubby and I stayed in the Eastham and this room was all that’s needed for a getaway. The claw foot tub and the large walk-in shower made for the most invigorating and relaxing evening. The bed and linens held me hostage. Ms. Maureene was so kind and even gave me a tour of the house so we’d be comfortable in accessing the amenities. Snacks and a bar were available all evening and the next morning, breakfast was laid out which I enjoyed in the sunroom overlooking the peaceful landscaping in the back of the home. Before checkout, I sat and meditated in the front room with the candle just to take in the aroma. It was so quiet and peaceful! I even bought a candle to bring some of The Gaston back home with me. I cannot wait to return, this time I plan to try a different room just for me as a mommy oasis!

What a cozy place! This bed and breakfast did not disappoint! Every detail was perfect. The house itself is beautifully decorated with a swanky take on an Art Deco era - the moodiness of it all is just astounding. My husband and I stayed in the Eastham room which had a very comfortable bed and was very spacious. The bathroom featured a claw foot tub which was perfect for soaking and relaxing at the end of the day! They even have their own signature scent throughout the house which smelled so lovely!! I bought two of their diffusers. The hospitality and communication was great, and of course - breakfast was tasty and fully prepared each morning by 9. If you’re looking for a cozy and intimate spot that’s conveniently located but gives you a homey feel, definitely stay at The Gaston! We definitely would love to stay again if we are back in the area!

I cannot say enough good things about The Gaston. My baby shower was hosted here and the venue was STUNNING! It felt formal but comfortable at the same time which is a rare find. The dining table was long enough for everyone to gather and the flow into the lounge made mingling easier than completely separated rooms. The details in the home stand out in every room. I’m partial to the Kennedy room and love that it feels more like a suite. But they’re all gorgeous. The service was wonderful, great communication and the feeling that they truly want you to feel at home. Did i mention the bar? :) Definitely planning another trip where I can enjoy the beautiful custom cocktail space they have created. Thank you for being so accommodating. We’ll be back!

My 4 friends and I enjoyed 2 fantastic nights at your gorgeous and very comfortable 5 star B&B. I have stayed at many B&B’s and this is at the top; my favorite! I loved having our own chic bathroom attached to our bedroom, ( with the most amazingly, comfortable bed,) decorated meticulously in a clever, Texas, historical theme. The house is magnificent with inviting rooms to enjoy our drink, from your elegant bar and gather in your cozy living room. After our night out we played a board game at the beautiful dining room table while seated in your plush velvet chairs. The breakfast of ham and cheese croissants, fresh fruit and coffee were a perfect morning send off. I highly recommend The Gaston! Thank you for a perfect stay! I’ll be back!

Words cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Gaston! We booked one night as we were attending a concert and we loved it so much we didn't want to leave, so we booked a second night! This isn't your average B&B. Special touches and attention to detail far exceeded our expectations. The beds were incredibly comfortable and having our own temperature control and a ceiling fan made it just perfect! The breakfast was beautifully presented in the Speakeasy bar both mornings and I loved the Nespresso coffee. Maureene is so hospitable and engaging! She is warm and welcoming and knows when guests want to have some good conversation or be left to lounge and relax on their own. We cannot wait to go back. 5 stars doesn't do it justice! :)

The Gaston and their owners provided such an amazing few days away for my husband and me. The decor was Pinterest-worthy. Each time I was downstairs, I chose a different room so I could sit and look at all of the fascinating details. The bedding and bed were so comfortable. The rooms are well appointed and spacious, and once inside I did not hear a peep from any of the other guests. I enjoyed a warm bath while reading one morning! Everything was so beautiful...even the breakfast each morning. No detail was missed from the chocolates to the honesty bar to the fresh flowers. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at The Gaston for a date night away from the kids where we went to a concert at Dos Equis Pavilion. It was only 10 minutes from the venue, we were able to eat nearby as well. It was so convenient. But the main thing is that the place is stunning! Every detail has been thought of and executed perfectly. The common areas beg to be used for relaxing. We can’t wait to visit again.

Staying at The Gaston was amazing! Such a treat and the house, rooms and decor was absolutely beautiful. My husband and I went on a romantic evening away at this B&B gem. The host, rooms breakfast and extras were all superb. If you order the “Roses” package be sure to confirm if the petals will be real or synthetic. We did not ask and assumed the petals on our bed would be real but they were not. Still had a great time but would not have paid the extra money for the rose petals would we have known. Would do it all over again in a heart beat and can’t thank our host enough for amazing get away!

This is the BEST bed and breakfast I have been to so far! I am a hugeee junky for cozy and comfy vibes and The Gaston is the embodiment of just that. The owner is super friendly and is there to greet you when you arrive. He shows you around but then leaves and lets the guests enjoy their time without a host (which I love). The place itself is beautiful and the owner truly took a good amount of thought when going into this. We had the Bonnie & Clyde room and I would highly recommended that room for young couples as it’s a large room with tub and shower, dark and classy but very comfortable. Will definitely be going back, maybe try a different room for fun!

We stayed one night. We have been in B&Bs all over the country and nothing beats The Gaston in Dallas. The interior is exquisite, the rooms are different and purposefully designed. Absolutely beautiful place to stay! Maureene was so helpful, courteous & accommodating. Our room was stunning, very comfortable, and the location was very close to everything we wanted to do in Dallas while visiting! The attention to detail in EVERY room of the house was incredible. We stayed as a couple for a night away and I couldn’t recommend it more. We loved coming back to the fun speakeasy for drinks after dinner, and the breakfast Maureene made in the morning was delicious and stunningly displayed. I’d move in if I could!

From the minute we got there to the minute we drove away we were treated with nothing but kindness. This is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed. I will be back as many times as possible. The rooms were clean, there were snacks scattered around the whole house, the water in the shower felt like soft water, the decor was stunning, and the bed was comfortable. The Gaston is stunning and takes expectations of a BNB to another level! Not only is it gorgeous throughout, my room was comfy and had a homey feel. I felt like I was pampered staying there! Honestly, it was such a treat. There is so much extra to this home you will never get at a hotel! It has a beautiful bar, delicious baked treats, a snack basket, a few places to sit and hang out outside of your room, and more. It’s also in a great location—you can walk to a beautiful street lined with estates and trees, or catch a quick ride to cool Dallas spots. I’d love to come back here again.

Perfect for a small intimate wedding. Old school glam meets funky This Old House. Lots of fun decorative touches throughout the house. The Gaston was perfect for our small wedding. Not a lot of parking on property. . No street parking at all. No elevator. Five beautiful spacious en suite bedrooms. Comfy plush beds and pillows. We slept like a dream. The Gaston is an American Foursquare that is beautifully styled with comfortable accommodations. The charcuterie board that was made for me was perfect and scrumptious. So enjoyed our stay at The Gaston! Perfect location if you are going to an event at Dos Equis Pavilion. Our room was amazing, we had a balcony and enjoyed sitting outside. The breakfast also was amazing! They make sure all the details are covered! Would definitely stay again when in Dallas!

My stay was outstanding! Highly recommend staying at The Gaston for a quaint and relaxing visit with every amenity you could ask for! Maureene was an excellent communicator for all details, Annie was super helpful and its really Dallas’ best kept secret. I will definitely be returning every time I visit Dallas! A++++ in all areas of detail.

Had so much fun at The Gaston this past weekend. Such a cute B&B, & we, of course, loved the Honesty Bar! Such a cool & fun idea. We stayed in the Dentzel room & loved mornings on the patio! Breakfasts were great as well, & Maureen was so hospitable!! We are definitely planning to go back!

Had an excellent weekend at The Gaston. This was a quick weekend getaway with restaurants and shopping. We took a nice walk down nearby Swiss Ave to see some historic homes in the area. Terrific, top-notch service. Rooms and the common area were exceptionally clean. Parking was easy. We would book it again and recommend to others.

A gorgeous B&B in Dallas with a wonderful host. I booked this B&B for holiday celebrating with friends and we had a great time. The rooms are beautiful and the host is very gracious. The property is quiet and low-key, so absolutely perfect for a peaceful stay whether just for one night or several nights.

Life-giving getaway in the heart of the city. The home is immaculate and beautiful. It was so fun to explore the historic home and enjoy the outdoor patio areas as well. Each room has its own a/c, and I was amazed at how quiet the house was, even with all the rooms being booked. Very comfy, spa-like stay.

We had such an amazing stay, the pics online really don't do the place justice. The attention to detail that went into the design is astounding, and every possible amenity was thought of. The Gaston far exceeded my expectations, we would definitely consider staying again or booking small events here. :)

If you are looking for a short staycation, I can not think of a better option in Old East Dallas. Nestled close to the Historic Swiss Ave District, the Hotel has all of the charms of an early 20th century home plus all of the modern amenities. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends, family, co-workers.

We had a wonderful time here. I loved the attention to detail down to the Ferris wheel charm on our room key that matched the wallpaper in the bathroom. It felt luxurious. The downstairs was gorgeous. The bar was so fun. We visited in December so it was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We enjoyed the breakfast selections both mornings we were there. We would stay again.

I can’t say enough about the Gaston - from the beautiful interior, history, and great hospitality. If you’re looking for a comfortable and memorable stay, you’ve found your place! I’ve now stayed as a guest and attended one of their events and will definitely be back to celebrate many more milestones or another staycation! Don’t forget to try the beer bread at breakfast!

A birthday weekend trip for my girlfriends birthday. The room was perfect - had ice cold champagne and roses ready when we arrived. The bar was a wonderful private retreat. We had a great time exploring all of the delightful furnishings. Will definitely stay here again if we come to Dallas!
